It was underwhelming 🫠. The plots fine, the tropes are fine, everything’s fine but there’s no feeling of conflict even tho conflict ‘technically’ occurs. It was super insta-ott, melodramatic but low-stakes, and sorta corny. The only reason I finished it was because I couldn’t be bothered to look for something else (I like the safe familiar vibes of authors when doing audiobooks - usually bc I’m cleaning etc.,)

This won’t be my last Flora Ferrari book bc she is a reliable low-angst easy read author with a distinct formulae across most her books. That is: insta-ott MMCs, fast paced pursuit of FMC, light-chill vibes even if darker themes implored. She also has a good amount of age gap & forbidden themed books (but again…not high angst). 🫶

Event planner Siena Walsh didn’t plan on the most important event of her career going so wrong in so many ways. First, her boss gets so ill that Siena has to handle the weeklong vow renewal of Vittorio and Marcela Bianchi alone. Then vendors begin cancelling services without explanation and a rocky photoshoot almost turns deadly. Then there’s the couple’s son Dario and his attempts to woo her — he’s a distraction for sure, but not entirely unwelcome. It’s clear that someone is sabotaging the activities, but who? And how far are they willing to go?

I generally enjoy Flora’s stories but this one was a bit of a miss for me. I had trouble with some of the characters, particularly Siena. At first, I liked her but her constant back and forth, hot and cold attitude toward Dario got really tiring really quickly. It was the same scenario — they get close, she gives in momentarily, then pushes him away — over and over again, page after page, for almost the entire book. Even the way each physical encounter unfolded was repeated. As soon as he reached for her, I could practically recite what would happen next, from how they touched each other (him grabbing her hips, her melting into him) and what she’d say when she pulled away (this can’t happen, this can’t be more than a fling, etc.). It got boring.

I hated the way Siena treated Dario. She played with his feelings relentlessly and unfairly lashed out at him multiple times. And yet, he kept going back for more, which made me like him less each time. A shame, because Dario was charming at times.

Sadly, the whodunit was predictable because the Big Bad was easy to identify. Thank goodness for the double epilogues because I hate when a book ends before we get a chance for a couple to be happy together.

Her Slow Build to Love -
Nothing had been going well for Sienna since she arrived on the island, so her interactions with Dario when they met didn’t go well. However, Dario felt an inexplicable connection with Sienna, that made him do everything possible to make her his. However, Sienna had vowed a while back to concentrate solely on her career, as she had plans to help her mum. Even though Sienna tried to maintain a friends-only relationship with Dario, his ongoing teasing and flirting slowly lowered her willingness to resist his charm.

Unfortunately, Dario was dealing with some serious issues, whilst keeping a secret from Sienna about his life, which led to her life being put in danger. Nevertheless, Sienna finding out the truth about everything turned out to be a benefit to Dario, as it helped him deal with the problems permanently. Luckily, after everything was resolved, Dario and Sienna had the confidence to finally acknowledge their feelings for each other and do everything possible to have the future they wanted.

Even though this story was a bit hairy and scary in parts, it was a really pleasurable reading experience. The story was well-written, the characters were compelling and the storyline was thrilling, so I urge you to grab a copy of this must read book and entertain yourself for a few hours.

A great Mafia story

This was a good story. I liked the plot and every main and secondary character was well-developed. I liked both Dario and Siena. Siena is the assistant of an event planner who is in charge of a great event; the head of the Bianchi family, the Don (she knows them as important people, old money, but they are in reality one of the most powerful Mafia families) holds a ceremony to renew his vows with his beloved wife. An event with as many personal as political reasons within the family mafia politics. When her boss “gets sick” Sienna needs to step in and make things run as smoothly as possible, so as she can also make her dreams come true in the future. She meets Dario by chance, is annoyed (as well reluctantly intrigued) by him. But he is like a dog with a bone; he is impressed and wants her, plain and simple. So he tries to woo her. But someone is determined to sabotage the event in order to make the Don seem weak. Will they find out who the traitor is? Will Siena accept Dario for who he really is? I loved turning the pages to find everything out! 4 stars

When Siena and her boss arrived on the island to manage the vow renewal of their clients it is filled with accidents and setbacks. It begins when Siena’s boss gets sick and Siena finds herself in charge and it is further complicated by the feelings she is developing for her client’s son Dario who she believes there is a lot about him that she doesn’t know.

From the first time that Dario saw Siena he was drawn to her in a way he had never felt before. He wants to spend time with her and doesn’t want her to be deterred by his family business but as the danger and betrayal escalates there is nothing he won’t do to keep her safe.

Siena is sassy and independent and has met her perfect match in the possessive and protective Dario as they take us on a romantic and suspenseful journey.

Mafia on the beach at a craphole resort - BARF
First of all they're just sweaty and sunburnt all the time. I'm so not into hot and humid sticky environments but in a mafia romance it just felt stupid. They take long walks on the beach and she stays in his crappy hotel room when hers is broken into. I was hoping they would leave the island but they NEVER do.
And this is the first time I've ever seen a mafia dude not have sex b/c of a lack of a condom.
It sometimes read like a rom com. There was really no danger in here. Just a super incompetent event planner running around a tropical island doing dumb stuff. And who is an assistant for 2 years and can't run an event by herself. When her boss gets sick and tells her to take the lead, she's like OMG, it's too early. It's not rocket science - it doesn't require a degree. It's just an event planner.

I absolutely loved this story. From the moment Siena and Dario meet, the chemistry between them is electric and impossible to ignore. Dario is every bit the dangerous mafia prince—possessive, protective, and determined to have her—but what made him stand out for me was the way he also showed such softness when it came to Siena.

The mix of suspense, passion, and tender moments kept me hooked the whole way through. I especially enjoyed how Siena balanced his intensity with her independence and strength. If you love mafia romance with a strong alpha male, sizzling tension, and a guaranteed happily ever after, this one is a must-read.

Siena is a 23-year-old smart, sassy, slightly grumpy, and curvy event planner. Dario is a 37-year-old charming, hunky, mafia prince. The two end up spending time together in the Maldives when she has to take over a vowel renewal ceremony for the mafia don and his wife, Dario's parents. Things seem to be going constantly wrong, why? Dario is instantly smitten with Siena, but she keeps giving him mixed signals. That did annoy me a bit about her. The chemistry between these two was pure fire and we got a great HEA after a lot of danger and drama.

Dario was there to attend his parent's vow renewal. When he sees Siena is possessive side comes out in full force. Siena with all that is going, keeps trying to keep him at arms length. Even though a bit closer would be good.
Dario has secrets that can put Siena in danger, but he will not let anything happen to the woman who has taken his heart.

Who knew event planning could be so dangerous?

Claimed by the Possessive Mafia Prince is another fabulous book by an author that delivers. The story pulls you in from the start and then takes you on a journey you will not want to end. Sienna and Dario are opposites, with an age-gap, good girl/bad boy, and in other ways. But when he first lays eyes on her he knows he has to have her, and not just temporarily but forever. Sienna has rules she follows as she is trying to build her career, and getting involved with a client is one of those rules. Dario may be charming and a lady-killer, but he has to work hard to get the lady he really wants.

She is working for the event planner at Dario's parents vow renewal week event. This most definitely was not a line at first sight situation but it was lust driven. From the moment he saw Sienna he was hooked. And while there for this event things start going very wrong. Someone is trying to ruin everything. They work together to fix things and along the way the relationship builds. They find out the one who is sabotaging everything and it surprises everyone. In the end they chose to give a shot and the relationship blooms!.

This is Dario and Siena's gritty, intense, steamy story. Lots of drama, danger, excitement, action and chaos fill these pages and easily pulls readers in along for the ride. Dario is a possessive, obsessive man, one who always gets what he wants and right now, he wants Siena. Try as she might, she fights hard against Dario. Even with as hard as she fights, she knows it's futile. She'll give in and their lives will never be the same. This author brings another great story that's an absolute must read!

When Sienna is faced with her first event planning job chaos runs amuck having her think that it is planned. Taking a boat out to look over the sight for the upcoming event she connects with Dario a man that will change her life forever. This story has so many layers that they kept me glued to the pages and I enjoyed uncovering every single one of them as they unfold within the story. It is a descriptively well written story with colorful characters I enjoyed connecting with.

Sienna is determined to concentrate on her career and to be there for her mother and does want to avoid distractions. When she meets Dario, she tries the friend zone, but he is an obsessive and poessisve man with a secret but also determined and he wants her. She can not friend zone him. This is a story with a lot of steam, drama, action and spice which keep you reading. I think with the time the characters get more dimensions, but are still typical for this author.

Amazing story. Siena had to take over for her boss(when she gets sick) to make the Bianchis vow renewal a success. Dario is the Bianchis son, who takes one look at Siena and is attracted to her. But Siena just wants to do her job, so she tries to stay away. But the chemistry between them cant be ignored for long. Everything that could go wrong is doing so, and Siena is at her wits end. And when her life is in danger, Dario is there to keep her safe. Loved reading their story. Thanx.

Dangerous Love.
Incredible. Siena can’t afford the distraction that Dario brings just by breathing in her direction. Protective? Yes. Possessive? Oh, most definitely! What she does not expect is the tenderness he shows only to her. Dario always, ALWAYS gets what he wants and he wants Siena. Desperately. He will do whatever he needs to make her his. Including starting a war to protect her. Will Siena see it that way, though?

Wow is the first word that comes to mind after I read Claimed by the Possessive Mafia Prince by Flora Ferrari. It was instant obsession the moment Dario meets Siena. And as the Mafia Prince he takes what he wants and he'd wants Siena. Once you began reading you won't be able to put it down. If you enjoy mafia romance their story is definitely for you.
