I Want to Bite on Your Ears #3

Sweet Defective Wolf

Rate this book
[Siren Everlasting Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, werewolves, HEA]

Flynn Howard has spent most of his life on the street. Being a defective werewolf means that no pack will take him in. It's nearing the winter holidays, the snow is getting ready to fall, and Flynn is hungry.

Then he meets Tanner Ford when trying to steal his wallet from him.

When Flynn realized the man he tried to pickpocket was another werewolf, he ran, but Tanner chases him down. When Flynn wakes up, warm and clean, and not smelling of sex, he has to wonder what Tanner's game is, and why the man wants to spoil someone as unworthy as him.

Tanner knows his mate when he smells him, even if the younger man is a defect. He doesn't care. His mate is clearly on his own, malnourished, and Tanner is taking him back to his pack so he can show Flynn that he has a permanent home, and if he wants, a life with Tanner.

How's the irony that in around the last ten pages that wannabe writer Flynn thinks to himself on plot that a couple needs one hard moment of bleakness for the lovers to emerge stronger. I didn't FEEL that in this book. But it's still a cute read don't get me wrong. I just didn't feel like there was that 'overcome and conquer' moment.

I just love rescue stories – and this one is as cute as it gets. Funny, too.

In fact, I was pretty much completely happy with this story until it began to drag a little. The delay of sex worked in the story’s favour but when it did start up, well, everything else lost some of the glow for me.
Not that it was bad in any way. Just, together with all the summarizing and fast forwarding, and the lack of a story climax (as amusing as it is to have one of the characters worrying about this very thing for his own writing), my interest ebbed to the point where I ended up rushing through the final sex scene.
Still nice and all, just nothing new in there.

3.5 stars. Soft, sweet, fluffy read. Another story that doesn't stray too far from the growing relationship of the MC's. The conflict was anti-climatic.

3 stars I guess

Sequel to I Want to Bite on Your Ears I Want to Bite on Your Ears 1 and Foxy-Eared Devil I Want to Bite on Your Ears 2

This isn't a bad series - it's managing to keep to a sort of standalone status per book entry in that there's no underlying series plot arc that I can tell, so if it disappears it's not going to bug me and if it carries on I don't feel resentful that I have to read every book for continuity. On that basis alone I'm inclined to stick with it since I appreciate the lack of pressure while enjoying the familiarity of characters and setting.

It refers to deeply traumatic/abusive events in a glossed over fluffy way - I can live with this, it's Siren-inc, I'm not expecting psychological counselling. On the other hand it's not terribly believable that Flynn would be so comfortable with sex and some readers might have issues with his easy acceptance of Tanner, destined mates and all. It's candyfloss basically, take it or leave it. (I quite enjoy candyfloss as long as I brush my teeth afterwards)

After I Want to Bite on Your Ears and Foxy-Eared Devil from this series, I knew what to expect from Sweet Defective Wolf and I wasn't disappointed.

Sweet, abused, formerly homeless Flynn and strong, possessive but also kind-hearted Tanner - just the trope I really like!

I liked the Christmas/Hanukkah references and the guys' romantic gestures. The only thing this part lacked was a real "black moment" before the conclusion.

Still smutty as hell! :D

3,5 stars rounded up to 4.

I liked Tanner from the previous two books and I'm happy that he turned out to be as strong and heroic as he showed signs of being in those books. "Defective" wolf-(non)shifter Flynn had had a really horrible life and needed and deserved to be rescued by a wolf in shining armor such as Tanner.

Again, I liked the MCs and thought that they worked well together, but I didn't care for the less likable members of the shifter pack. Maybe it's because I read these three books back-to-back in less than 24 hours, but I feel that I'm done with this series, at least for now, so I'm not sorry that there aren't any more books in this series at present. I'm not sure if it was me or the book, but I felt that it kind of sagged towards the end and that's why it was only really a 3,5 to me.

This being said, I still enjoyed reading this book and I like that the dynamics between Tanner and Flynn was different from the ones between the previous pairs (that was different form each other as well). Another good pairing!

I was really looking forward to this book because it was Tanner's story but it was another meh read. I did find Flynn to be really cute though in the beginning. Also, the beginning of the book was interesting with the mated pairs first meeting and Flynn trying to warm up to everyone. But that's about the only good thing. Anywho, here are the top issues I had with the book:

- Defect. I really wish there was another term for them that wasn't derogatory. It's funny because I think Tanner says this exact thing in the book because he doesn't want to be insulting but apparently shifters have no other word for it.

I feel like I should stop reading these books because I'm just turning super bitter. But no! I will persevere and check out another series (maybe one of the dragon ones?).

I just love, love, love, this series, and this book was so freaking cute!!! I was especially happy to see that Tanner finds his mate, because he was my kind of man. Sexy, with long hair, and just, wow. :) I always feel for these defective wolves because they have such a very hard and painful life. Humans accept them but the shifters do not. I was also excited to see Mason and Dane back in the story with Charlie and Parker. I'm not much on the hunting thing with a gun, but that's just me. Once Flynn calmed down with Tanner I just sat back and enjoyed how their extraordinary relationship unfolded. I was elated to see that they had many happy moments together, and I found myself smiling as I read page after page. Oh, but feel free to get rid of Charlie and Mason's mother. Ugh! That's a really sick woman. Other than that this was an adorable and enchanting read. :) Where can I find a Tanner?! :)

Flynn is trying to support himself and get away from the abuse he receive from the street. When he finds his mark Tanner and try to steel his wallet. Flynn relazie his mistake right away the Tanner is a wolf. Tanner can't believe that he has found his mate and has run from him. He goes to his friends for help search for Flynn. He takes Flynn home with him and trys to get him comfortable around him and the pack. Tanner doesn't care that Flynn is defect, he just see Flynn. They have their up and downs with their relationship. Will the pack and others finally accept that their are more out there to care for. Was a little short on the story length, but awesome read.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK:This is a must read and awesome add to the series.

This was an enjoyable installment to the series and so far the one I’ve liked best. I’m almost tempted to give it 3.5 stars but there are hits and misses within the story itself so in the end I’ll go with a good 3 stars. Liked the couple, loved the rescue aspects, enjoyed Tanner coming into his own though I found Flynn a little disagreeable and I didn’t exactly like him at times. Wish this had come out sooner since it’s a holiday themed book, but I enjoyed it nonetheless!

Very cute story. my only disappointment was that I wished Flynn and Tanner had had children during the book.
I find it interesting that this is the second out of three defect characters that were homeless. It might be interesting if there was a shifter series based on a group of homeless omegas who find their mates.

Again this is a cute story. I like that there is the thought of how being a defective causes all sorts of issues. It adds a little more to the story. It still is a fun story. It is a "fluffy" story and I liked it as such.

Basically Prince Charming.

Flynn is rescued from the streets by Tanner then spoiled rotten. I felt more hero worship than love. No drama, no angst. Werewolf lite.

Three stars because I enjoyed it but I'm done with Marcy Jacks. I'm more interested in authors who write real stories.

Start was good, but I lost interest after a while. Don't know if it was the mood I'm in, but wasn't really for me
