Forget.

A word that means so much, and can be used in so many ways.
I wish I could forget that my mother died when I was only sixteen. I wish I could forget the terror of living alone and on the streets.

Most of all, I wish I could forget the fear I feel over my designation as an omega.

Going through heat is normal, I should be able to suck it up and get through it with anyone, right? But sharing my body when I’m completely vulnerable feels too intimate to share with a random alpha. Unfortunately, I don’t have a choice.
My current situation means I need to find a pack I can trust that’s willing to help me through my heats. I don’t need forever, I need four days every month.

This is my last chance, and I’ve been forced to turn to an app as my last resort. Date after date, alpha after alpha, nothing is working but I’m running out of time. And when one date turns into an unwanted confrontation with a pack member I hate, I know for sure the system was hacked. There’s no way I’d match with him otherwise.

My heat is coming early, though, and my choices aren’t mine anymore. Which means this unhinged pack is my only option.
I’ll have to forgive and forget, if only for now.
And I know exactly how to end it if I change my mind.

*Forget is Aisling’s story. It is a dark omegaverse with multiple scent mates. There will be groveling, knots, and a knife wound or two.*

Oh my lord this felt long in a neutral to negative way.

Thoughts and summary.

Summary

Aisling is an omega under the radar, thanks to her mother. Poor and young, when Aisling’s mother dies in their home, Aisling is forced to keep moving forward, even through a traumatic solo heat—until an alpha gets a hold of her. Turns out, asshole Aiden Hayes works for Aisling’s absentee underworld father, who has been searching for Aisling for years. Under the safety and love of her father, Aisling turns into your favorite 2000s YA power fantasy’s FMC’s favorite 2000s YA power fantasy FMC. Her years are spent flourishing, gathering allies, starting a business to aid omegas—and using drugs to sedate her heats.

Enough is enough. Aiden Hayes’s pack of Cian, Domnh, and Evan come to the conclusion Aisling is their scent match. And if it takes stalking her, kidnapping her during her heat to have her, they’ll do it.

But Aisling isn’t succumbing without a fight: with them; with a shitty omega organization; but maybe without fighting her depression and spiraling mental health.

Pack Hayes may want Aisling, but is their want for her more important than their omega’s crumbling health and mission?

Thoughts

Good god.

Likes ✅

⬆️ I like that we spent time understanding Aisling’s situation when she was young. This gave a better appreciation for Aisling’s struggles when she’s 19 years old.

⬆️ I was impressed Aisling’s father was ride or die from day one. He dismissed his shitty wife and beat Aiden blue for disrespecting his daughter.

⬆️ I was overjoyed when Aisling’s heats and getting fucked by the pack in masks was treated with gravitas. Aisling’s therapist even states that this is grounds for rape when Aisling is honest about her body quite literally betraying her. Aisling rightfully cuts contact with her father permitting her being kidnapped in an emotionally vulnerable time in her life too. Aisling goes in heat sedatives due to the trauma. Loved it.

⬆️ Pack Royale was amazing, and I hope we see them again. They’re three alphas who are very professional towards Aisling and her need for a pack to help her through her heats.

⬆️ I liked that Aisling doesn’t have one singular emotions for the pack. She goes between withdrawn, annoyed, snappish, sarcastic, reluctantly amused.

⬆️ I loved that the entire world was against Pack Hayes for their misdeeds and crimes. Everyone gave them shit. Everyone knew Aisling wasn’t responsible for this. Impressive.

⬆️ I give props to the mature themes introduced. I’m a suckerrrrrr for dubcon and abduction.

Dislikes ❌

Honestly, everything else.

⬇️ Pack Hayes is very explicit about only caring that Aisling is fucked and bred. They don’t really care about Aisling’s depression. And if they do? It quickly becomes sexual for them. They smirk and drawl and think assaultinf Aisling will solve everything. And they pity themselves, but they’re more concerned when Aisling will finally be open to fucking than shutting them out. They repeatedly violate her, from using her heat against her so she can spread her legs to them to bugging her clothes so they can listen to her private conversations. When they realize that secrets are what got Aisling to hate them, they keep doing it and it takes Aisling becoming bottomed out in her exhaustion for them to “win” her.

WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PLUS!! DOES THAT NOT SOUND GOOD?!

But the writing was just… What? I was so mad that these MMCs had the bones of being dark heroes and just turned into standard contemporary omegaverse alphas instead in execution.

If this is dark, let it be dark! Go all the way! If it’s not meant to be dark, that’s okay, reign in it. But what separates these MMCs from regular contemporary omegaverse MMCs who also only care about screwing the FMC? Most alpha and even beta MMCs in contemporary omegaverse are more fixated on the sexual intimacy aspect. They definitely are explicit about it, going as far as to ignore the FMC’s mental health as they envision what her mouth does. So where’s the line between them and these MMCs in "Forget"?

⬇️ Fuck the dad. He was aware Aisling couldn’t think straight due to heat and he didn’t care. He claims he did. If he did, why would he let the pack rape her again? 🤔 Again, if this is dark, let it be dark. He doesn’t need to be cartoonishly evil or good. But I’m trying to follow his canonical logic. He beats Aiden for harassing his daughter in the beginning. I love that. But then all his ride or die energy peters out. I wanted him to maintain his ride or die energy to the point of nearly murdering Pack Hayes.

⬇️ Fuck the ending. Aisling apologizes to Aiden, the alpha who sexually assaulted her and raped her during her most vulnerable time. She’s at fault, of course. Okay. And Aiden kinda sorta apologizes, but you know, in the “alpha way”. And of course, sex saves the day and resolves all relationships. At least mind-break her! But given all the therapy sessions she had and the story taking noncon/dubcon as rape/assault, the writing confuses me how this all happened. I should’ve been gleeful that Aisling was finally worn down. But I was just…at a loss. I saw the love story but not the romance.

WHAT WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS A HIGHER RATING

✨ A bit less emphasis on sex resolving things. This book does stress about biology not solving things and then biology solves things. Let’s reel it in with the magic sex cure at the end.

Only because of the therapist sessions we see, Aisling confront Pack Hayes that what they did was considered sexual assault/rape instead of Aisling falling over herself to make this out to be her fault for being too independent. I wanted it to hit Pack Hayes that their behavior was unacceptable rather than Aisling’s independence, trauma, and depression was the problem. Give me darkness, give me angst!! Even mindbreaking!! Don’t turn this into just yet another standard contemporary omegaverse, please, do something different 😭

✨ Don’t have Aisling’s dad be okay with the kidnapping. I would’ve rather Aisling schedule things with Pack Royale but Pack Hayes instead shows up. Aisling’s father is none the wiser. This puts him in a better light. If he’s a more ambiguous father figure, that’s FINE! But this is a man who threw out his own wife for her disrespect, so at least have him show up and show out consistently! Make him make sense.

OVERALL

This book had good bones and some good beats, and this could have been a really good dark omegaverse, but I can’t think of what separates this story from any other contemporary omegaverse. And that’s what bugs me. This said it was dark, so I expected it to be. But the MMCs aren’t really departing from the norm in the omegaverse subgenre. The book should have explored the darkness it presented rather than briefly touched it. I wanted more nitty-gritty exploration. But the writing wasn’t strong enough to execute it.

I think Aisling has been the most promising omega protagonist I’ve seen in why choose omegaverse. I liked her journey, but she deserved better.

The reason this book has 3⭐️ is that her characterization is the closest to what I’m searching for.

Again, this whole book just felt like a standard contemporary omegaverse romance. We had some interesting mature theme that were not really executed in the writing. I just really wish this had explored being dark or stuck in a contemporary lane. This felt like it was too afraid to go too far, yet also wanted to claim it was “dark”. But with how prevalent dubcon and abduction is in omegaverse genre, especially the why choose dynamic of omegaverse, I don’t see what separates this from the others.

I mean, fucking hell, Violet Fox and I think even Roxy Collins maybe promote their omegaverse why choose works as contemporary, and they have noticeably cruelly environments and MMCs. And I have to mention this because I don’t see a noticeable difference between their works and this one.

C’est la vie. What doesn’t work for me may work for someone else 🫠

Omega delt crappy pack

There is so much I disliked about this entire read, dnf @ 88%. Spoilers ahead.
I think the first thing that really had me scratching my head was how our Fmc just decided to go live with her father who she had zero proff that he was even her father from a phone call. Logically, there was a man just claiming I'm ur daddy! Come live with me? And she drops everyone from her past. Everyone that's been there for her, the two alphas looking out for her? The two omega? You don't read about them after she whisked away to bigger and better things. It's so freaking weird, it's strange and bothersome. Then we get her scent match, her first one, the man who found her. What a selfish man. He literally does not tell his pack about her, and does something so messed up that it's the entire trauma of our fmc. When she finally meets her scent matches, they literally know exactly what he's done, and the participate in letting him have smexy time with her, while she has no idea. Yes, no idea who she's letting into her body. And they pretty much mark her and tell her to deal. Its over, they are her alphas and that's a wrap. They don't respect anything about our fmc. It's mind blowing. And what they did. In my opinion was just unforgiving. They talk raunchy while having smex with her. And I will tell you. It just doesn't fit. One name the call her is " cűm qűeen". They just weren't sexy in the slightest. And there dirty talk just felt disrespectful and gross. I want to finish by saying, this was not a happy pack to me, it was pretty much a. Your a omega and no matter what you've been fighting for, you can't fight for yourself because alphas know better. And eventually you'll love us and the life we're making you live. This read is an entire contradiction of everything the fmc stands for. I honestly felt sad for her.

"I want to be a part of every moment in her life, even if it’s as a fly on the wall."

Jenn Bullard is an evil mastermind. I can always count on her to rip my heart out and piece it back together. I knew I was in for a rocky ride when I found out it was Aisling's book! This series has been incredible. And with each book, I grow more and more in love with Jenn's writing.

I feel like the list of tropes is a perfect reason why you should read this book. But if that's not reason enough let me break it down for you!

Possessive. Unhinged. MMCs who will do anything to win their scent match! Even her father has a hand in making sure they end up together! I loved her father so much! And the way he encouraged these men to kidnap his daughter because he knew how stubborn she was. AMAZING! And they took his advice wholeheartedly. 👏

“I love a good hunt, and tracking down the only omega I’ll ever want seems like a good enough reason to do it.”

Aisling stole my heart instantly. Watching her push through the things she went through, especially at the beginning of the book had you routing so hard for her. She was such a strong resilient feisty FMC. And she had ZERO problem putting the guys in their place and making them grovel when they needed to!

"I’ll burn the world down in an effort to care for my girl."

Jenn gave Aisling the HEA she deserved with the right amount of groveling from the guys! I loved watching them find their HEA together and look forward to seeing them in the next book!

I also love how much we got to see Wren and her pack in this book! 🫶

Well done, Pixie. 😉

Where do I even start?

First off this is one of my pet peeves, but strictly a me thing, others can like what they like. I hate humiliation/degradation kink. The beginning was so heavy with that I didn't know if I would keep reading, but I wanted to see Aisling's story.

......to be honest I was so aggravated with this book, and I had a bunch of grievances, I had to take a break and walk away from this review. Well, it's been two weeks, and I've read 3 books since then I also haven't logged because I never came back to finish this review lol. All I can say is there was a bunch of shit as part of the sex side of things I didn't jive with. At first, I really loved Aisling but then she started to aggravate me. To top it off Hayes groveled and self-flagellated way too long. It was over drawn to the point of annoyance. So that's what I remember two weeks plus after reading it. There are definitely some things about JB's writing style or maybe just her OV take that isn't my favorite and I'm not so sure I'll be reading her books in the future.

"Game. Set. Match. Run, little poppet, I like the chase."
Deep breathes. Start with the trigger warnings because they are there for a reason. Don't yuck other's yum.
This is book three in Jenn's Dark Omegaverse. It's best read in order. This is Aisling's story. And man, oh man, she has a lot to tell. Aiden, Caelin, Domhnall, and Evan are overprotective alph@holes. No spoilers here. Do not skip this brilliant tale!

2.5 stars. Enjoyed this, but it had some huge flaws. Just copy/pasting my notes bc I'm lazy:

Really liked the beginning of this story. We get to see what drives the FMC's need to provide a safe and accommodating place for omegas to land when they're on their own. I really love her drive and her cause. She knew what she needed when she had no one to turn to, and she became that for other omegas. Huge props.

I love it when one party messes up huge and has to work to be forgiven. This setup was fantastic.

Really like how dedicated her dad is. He really loves her and wanted to make up for lost time. I wish we knew exactly why her mom left.

This book gave out big reveals a couple times that the characters had already revealed to the same people earlier. This happened a few times, but one instance was supposed to be an especially huge reveal, but he had already told them earlier and it's like the author forgot she had already had the character reveal that to his pack.

There are a million people in this book and most of them we'll never see or hear about again. Every family member or friend and their entire pack and at least half of their life stories are told to us in the first 50% of this book.

I read this because some people said the grovel was great, but I'm still waiting for said great grovel..............more on this below because it went the therapy route instead, which I do actually respect.

Body betrayal is the name of the game here. It rules everything. And this was supposed to be a dark romance but it's like the edited version of a dark romance. The closest it gets is all the offers to unalive people and the degradation during the sex scenes which, like okay we get it, tears and her feeling pain turn you on. You don't have to make it sound so rapey or like her pleasure is just an afterthought.

And like I love coming across a book with somno in it, and this had a really good scene (she's actually asleep and stays asleep for while instead of pretending or waking quickly--if you're into somno, you know there's a difference)...but then he started wondering internally "if she has any idea she's being fcked against her will" and it turned him on even more. This is during her heat, so it's all kind of blanket consented to, but taking it there to drive it into noncon territory pulled me right out of the story. And sure that's one of the TW we get at the beginning of the book so I knew to expect it (and the other instances) but it's not something I like, which again, I only read this because someone lied about how "great" the grovel is. Sigh.

So the therapy aspect:
I actually really liked it. This book reminded me of a reddit post I saw a while ago of a husband in distress because he and his wife have noncon/dubcon as part of their kinkplay, but his wife really didn't want to participate one time but froze and didn't use her safeword while he also didn't check in with her ("what's your color/safeword?" "Do you want to use your safeword?"), and it resulted in a damaged relationship. He was trashed in the replies until the post was locked, but it's a situation I've heard of before irl and it's always damaging when both parties aren't on the same page. I also agree that it's a huge grey area that could fall either way depending on the circumstances.

I immediately thought about it while reading because there's a similar situation in this book, and it deals with the aftermath of the alpha realizing he fcked up, and the omega trying to determine whether or not she wanted that interaction. They both go to therapy (though not at the same time, and we don't see the alpha's sessions) and have to work through what went wrong and the alpha especially works through how to ensure that never happens again should be ever be given another chance at a relationship with her. You see his attitude change over time, and things between them have to be healed before they can move on.

This is a long story a with long lead up and a long resolution. I almost DNFd a few times bc I wasn't into some of what was happening. But damn if I didn't have a need to know if he redeemed himself after that, and I think I'm still up in the air about it.

Like I said though, very possible noncon is not my thing. I don't like to read it in my romances. However, since I was reading this anyway and had to endure it, I appreciate that it was treated with that much seriousness until the FMC could make a decision for herself on how she felt about it.

Unfortunately, I also don't think there was enough grovel from the pack or her father for anything that happened before that. Although they are a very attentive pack, with sweet interactions with her, they still unapologetically continued doing the same things until they wore her down and she just agreed to forgive them one by one.

I do think there was a stark difference in their amount of care/tenderness/whatever you want to call it between their first sex scene with her and the scenes in the last 1/3 of the book though. They also show that they're realizing they need to treat her differently than they treated each other (flowers, actual dates, etc.). Those things were all great, but it was all still done with this underlying need for sex as the ultimate goal between all of them. And body betrayal was still the ultimate deciding factor in all of their interactions, which was disappointing. Even when she was deeply depressed and angry with all of them, her body needed them, causing her to be unable to fully push back against their antics.

Also if you're reading this for MM content, you won't find much here. A few mentions of stuff happening here, a kiss there, thoughts of maybe starting something, sticking it in the closet pack member once while waiting for the FMC to be free, etc. There might have been one scene in there that wasn't added on as an addition to stuff happening between the pack with the FMC, but honestly I don't remember it if there was bc this book was looong.

I LOVE OV, in any form... like I literally froth for it.

I need a few things for me to really rate an OV book: An FMC with a backbone, gut punch moment(s) - I need to feel her heartbreak, and GOOD grovel - not just 'I'm sorry' - that doesn't cut it.

I'm happy to say this ticks all my boxes. There is of course BBS here - obviously due to being scent matches - OV/Shifter is the only time I allow for BBS as I think its completely unnecessary otherwise and IMO devalues the FMC.

My first read of Jenn Bullard was Knot My Sin (which I really liked), and I met Aisling (FMC) in that book. I loved her character (the albeit brief glimpses) and wanted to know more. I'm so glad Aisling’s been given her own story.... it's full on!

Aisling’s been through A LOT of trauma, with her life completely changing and having to see the darker side of life from the tender age of 16. I won't bore you with a recap as there are plenty of spoilers on here...

What I will say, is that I really like Jenn's world building. This is a SLOOOOOW burn book, and due to my lack of attention span (which can be pretty much zero on any given day, but whatevs, what can you do? 🤷🏻‍♀️) I did struggle with. This is necessary though as Aisling’s world and what she's going through and the people she meets and what she is trying to accomplish needs time to set up - Jenn's done this well and I feel she's represented trauma and mental health beautifully.

My only 'complaint' is I wanted to see what happened to Emilia and those uppity bitches after they tried to sell our girl and sabotage everything.... I'm a very very petty person and I need to see karma dished out 🤷🏻‍♀️

Forget by Jenn Bullard is the third in the Unhingedverse. This is a dark omegaverse story. There are TW to watch for. I loved, loved this story. I was so happy to read Aisling's HEA. Mafia intrigue. I loved meeting Cian, Aislings dad. Such a good story. We even see Flynn and his pack from a previous story and I was glad we got to see them again.

This was such a nice change to book 1 and 2 of this series. Aisling had a wonderful mother who did everything she could to provide for her daughter. Cian is Aisling's father, and I freaking loved him. He wanted what was best for her every step of the way. He was overprotective in a way that didn't stifle Aisling into growing into her own.

Aisling is determined along with Wren and Flynn to give omegas a chance in the world. To give them the resources necessary to thrive or get them out of bad situations. In the course of all this, she meets a pack of unhinged alphas and beta that are determined to bind her to them. Sure, they all work for her dad, but some stalking without getting caught is in order.

Now I will say I don't think this was a particularly dark read, and I, for one, am grateful. Not really in the right head space for dark like Wren's story. This one was more angst and drama with the men. 1 particularly makes some bad choices and essentially drives Aisling away. I loved the rest of the pack for very methodically inserting themselves into her life. Can I also say the trauma Flynn endured in book 1 is finally getting addressed and I'm so grateful to Jenn Bullard for writing it the way she did. Trauma is processed differently by everyone, and sometimes it takes a while to be ready to seek help.

I'm excited to see where the next story takes us and seeing more of Aisling and her pack.

Sososososo good

This book was a whirlwind of emotions and shows that communication is key to a relationship and never assume anything cause you would most likely be wrong and have to grovel for forgiveness

Forget, book 3 of the Unhingedverse series, by Jenn Bullard @author_jenn_bullard. Read the trigger warnings! First off, I am a huge fan of Jenn’s & this book was no different!

Holy wow! Just wow! This book about Aisling, Aiden, Evan, Caelin & Domhnall was AMAZING! I absolutely loved it! Tropes: Omegaverse, RH, MM, MMCs fall first, unhinged alphas, mafia , childhood trauma, hurt/comfort, slow burn (but honestly didn't feel like it!), FMC refuses to break, found family, & mental health representation.

I did have to confirm a TW which was explained in more detail & I made the decision to read the book & how heck am I glad I did!

Look, I really wanted to love this but I'm sad I couldn't! DNF @75% the story and characters were not for me and the sex was... Interesting. Not my thing.

PLOT:

Aisling is orphaned when her mother dies of an aneurysm. As a young omega with nowhere to go she gets a job and starts trying to support herself. While out one day she discovers that she has a dad who has been looking for her for years - the only catch is that he's mafia. With her heat fast approaching and unable to take any more medication, she needs to find an alpha fast. Enter a group of stalker alphas wanting to make her theirs.

THOUGHTS:

- This was just not my thing. I didn't connect with or like any of the characters and the relationships and story just felt flat and uninspiring to me.

- I really wanted to like Aisling (and I really did in the beginning) but she got on my nerves SO quickly. She starts off as this orphaned kid who's doing her best to survive after her mom dies but turns into this snotty, bratty b*tch. Like one second she's a sheltered kid trying to keep ahead and the next she's all "daddy made me promise not to stab anyone with my weapons" and acting like a princess. Also, it's never really explained why other guys don't like her? Like dates treat her badly but there's like no reason for it aside from her dad being mafia?

- the story had me in the first half but the stuff mentioned in the blurb doesn't actually happen until like half way through so it feels really slow and kind of boring.

- I felt there were too many characters. Like I love new interesting characters to further the story but before the smut even happens we're introduced to like 10 characters and it started getting confusing and annoying real quick. I barely could tell which guys were supposed to be into her and it was annoying that the guys seemed to have more of a relationship with each other and then all of a sudden it's all "she's everything". Like bro? You were totally into your buddy and now you guys barely talk bc she's around and the priority?

- beware this has MM content. If you're not into the daddy thing or guys getting it on, you probably won't enjoy this. Also, IT TAKES FOREVER TO GET THE SMUT. Like most of us read these books for that so having to read like 15 chapters to get a anywhere??

- the guys kind of all suck! There's like NO connection between them and her and they only like her because she's a scent match.

- I HATED the "texting" sections - maybe it's just me but I found them weirdly formatted and kinda confusing (especially while trying to keep all the characters straight).

- the smut was ok and that's all I can say. We're playing FAST and loose with the consent here but I guess that should have been expected with the "dark romance" thing. The guys basically kinda tried to kidnap her and all the sex happens when she's out of her mind in heat which feels super rape-y since they basically manipulated her from the start....

I tried. I really tried. I've been attempting to read this for two weeks, hoping that it would get better.

I hesitated starting it when I saw Goodreads listed two versions of this book. Historically, this has never been a good thing. It seems to indicated a poorly reviewed first edition, so the author makes some corrections and re-releases it. That certainly seems to be the indication here, but more corrections would've been desperately needed.

The pack doesn't even show up for 100 pages. At the time I DNFed, I was about 50% through the book (around page 250) and the pack hadn't even told her that she was their mate - most of them hadn't even officially talked to her. I was so over it. Most books are wrapping up at that point, yet we haven't even had official intros yet.

It's long, it's boring, it has numerous time jumps that were unnecessary (clearly glossing over the previous books in the series where shoehorned characters have to appear in this universe for no reason), and everything that happened over 250 pages could've been condensed to about 30.

When she's accosted by an alpha on the street near the beginning and he talks on the phone to a man claiming to be her father, then she immediately quits her jobs, drops the alphas who had been kind to her, and moves out of her apartment to go live with the man on the phone - all in the same afternoon!! - I considered her TSTL, but I was hoping the book would redeem her. Nope. She only got worse. I'd had it with her when she desperately needs alphas (repeated ad nauseam), but always wears a scent-blocking gel. Even when she's obsessed about finding the source of the scent she loves. But she wears the gel and doesn't bother to ask her father who was in her nest.

There were other problems, such as the amateurish writing style that clearly didn't have an editor. Note to authors everywhere: Italics do not need to be used in phone conversations! They are for emphasis, not to be used as a conversational moment, which does nothing but distract from what's being said. Not that much is ever said, and what's there just goes around in circles. One example of the writing quality (with bold notations that personally irritated me):

"Blowing out a breath, I squeeze the water out of my hair with my towel, and then run a little product through my hair. I'll let my hair figure itself out today, which will mean my hair will loosely curl."

I mean...seriously?

But I kept with it. Why, you might ask? Because this was billed as a dark romance.

I love dark romances, but halfway through and there isn't a shred of darkness to be found. Everything - and I mean everything that could be considered dark happens off page. All we get is a lot of circuitous plots - she runs errands, she wants to help omegas, she desperately wants Alphas to help her with her heat, she's medicated through a heat, she wears gel to never smell Alphas.

And the gel? A gel that can only block Alpha pheromones but not Beta or Omega? That's like having a perfume that only Americans can smell. It's ridiculous.

I was looking forward to getting a dark omegaverse story, but this was not it.

Aisling captured my heart from the first moment we met her in Knot My Sin and after reading just a few pages of Forget, I wanted to bundle her up and keep her safe… my sweet baby angel. 🥹 but dang, if her tenacity and dedication to changing the world for omegas didn't make me fall in love with her even harder... Aisling is a force of nature, a true survivor never backs down despite the obstacles she faced. And her journey is a difficult one, I think that is something that you need to understand going into her story. It isn't going to be pretty, it is going to be gritty, make you sad, and maybe a bit angry. This is a dark romance, Aisling doesn't just find her alphas and it is all sunshine and rainbows and that is OKAY because honestly, she would hate it. And her pack is going to work for it bish because that is what she deserves. I will forever be #teamAisling

Forget may be a slow burn buuuuut babyyyyy the spice is scorching 🥵 and truth be told, that isn't what kept me hooked (i mean, it didn't hurt) but I thought that every page was beautifully written, and I found myself lost in the story in the best possible way. Jenn created a world that feels both raw and tender, and I never wanted it to end.

And before I continue obsessing over Aisling’s story, let’s talk about Flynn—Jenn handled his journey and healing with such care and realism. His trauma, and the way he responded, felt so genuine. It was a reminder that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I loved how that his story and healing was woven into the story. Jenn nailed it, and it made me love Flynn even more and schmurder that damn alpha all over again.

Okay, back to Aisling 😍
I want to talk about Aisling’s relationship with her father, Cian. I’m obsessed. Their bond was everything that we, yes i am including myself, deserved, and I don't know about you but i need Cian to get his own story so badly it hurts. He deserves a HEA, and my soul aches for his future to be written. I'm on my knees beggggging 🧎🏻‍♀️

As for the guys? Aiden, Caelin, Domh and Evan were unhinged, possesive, dark, stalker-ish, and maybe a bit depraved and I loved every 👏 second 👏of 👏it. I cant really pick a favorite but I know that I absolutely loved Evan 🥹 There was something about that Beta that made me love him - was it his stalker tendencies or the way that he saved that omega from her POS alphas? Maybe? ..shrug, I like em a little unhinged. Domh and Caelin were a close second in my top 5 leaving Aiden last..sigh here’s the thing, Aiden made me feel… things. I understand where he was coming from, especially after meeting his mom but he was a deeeick. did he redeem himself? I’d say he was well on his way. He wants to be a better alpha for Aisling and I found that endearing. I may still want to nut punch him just a little but his groveling and vulnerability was chef’s kiss. I wouldn't change a thing about this pack and their story but daayum if they didn't make me wanna scream at times.

Forget is one of those books that I know is going to stay with you long after you close it. Jenn, you’ve outdone yourself yet again and I cannot wait to see what comes next! 🖤

Jenn Bullard has become one of my fave authors when it comes to angst and omegaverse. Her first book in this series, Knot my Sin, had the gut punches coming for the first like 150 pages of the book.. and with that read I *knew* I’d found a new one-click author for me.

Her follow up, FIGHT, was super good as well so to say that I was anticipating Aisling’s story, Forget, is an understatement.

These boys are *UNHINGED*. Her entire pack is absolutely feral. They get one sniff of her and there’s no one else for them ever. The best part? Theres some legit betrayal/grovel happening with one of the members of the pack- Aiden- and i was here for every single freaking moment of it.

Aisling was such an interesting character. She had the hardest life but she literally took the punches as they kept coming and when she found her dad? Ugh it was *everything.*

Sweet Aisling finds out her mother has passed away at the start of the book when she’s still a kid- 16. She also presents as an Omega, and is forced to live on the streets, work 2 jobs under the counter, and deal with being an Omega and an orphan for years. While she’s bartending (one of her gigs) some of her coworkers teach her to put a gel under her nose that’s a scent blocker to keep her from reacting to every single Alpha who comes in the bar. This becomes kind of a crutch for Aisling… so when she’s stopped no the street one day by an Alpha who recognizes her birthmark and subsequently, her (as her father’s daughter) she has no idea that the alpha who stops her is her freaking SCENT MATCHED MATE.

He gets upset and indignant that a) she’s his boss’s daughter and b) seems to completely disregard the fact that she’s his scent matched omega. So he does something to really screw her over and affects her traumatically for the rest of the book.

The rest of his pack? They don’t even know she’s their scent match. Until another one of them runs into her and realizes who she is and Aiden, the first alpha, has to come clean abotu what happened.

But.. Aisling is not only their scent match- she’s their boss’s daughter. THEIR MAFIA BOSS. So things aren’t as easy as they hope they’re gonna be.

The story of how this pack came together was so freaking good. I loved Aisling, loved what she did for Omegas, and loved the psychotic unhinged pack of hers! I can’t wait for the next book!

Huge thanks to the author and her PA for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

🌟 3.4

This was a very big book, and my response has been interesting.
It ended in a good space, but its origin was messy.

Some pros:
- The evolution arc of the men. They were toxic towards her in the beginning. I really hated it, there was a lot of dub-con. Seeing their usual coping mechanisms not land well with her, and watching them have to alter and change their approach towards her was satisfying.
- A couple of smaller things.
Her character actually not knowing anything about sex beforehand. She was a virgin and sort of acted like one, instead of going straight from virginal to sex star. She acknowledged that she liked it but also didn’t, and ultimately hated what happened.
Her going against biology and scents by using the gel under her nose and medicine to knock her out.
Her holding them off when they treated her badly.
I liked that she didn’t react well to their toxic overbearing behaviour. I like that she DID react well after having hard conversations about limits and expectations and safe words.
Her mental health affected her sexuality. Seriously, the amount of authors who blow past this aspect as if it has no bearing on anything is shocking.

cons:
- A crap ton of irrelevant info in the first third of the book. I got names and packs and info thrown at me, almost like this book was the train station terminal for ten other books. Everyone got a shoutout and 2 min of fame here. I have no idea still whether those names are relevant to future books or if they’re of others set in previous ones.
- Sex positions. At least three times I was left scratching my head trying to picture who was where. I couldn’t, so I skipped.
- I REALLY didn’t like what the men did to her for a good majority of the book. I hated how one had forceful sex in an alley without her consent, didn’t listen to her, and expected good results from it. Crazy. They were forceful. The non-con didn’t land well with me, at all.

Overall…. 🤔
It was ok, and I mean that in a three star way, but only because there was the apologies and semi-grovel, and only because in the end the group was in a good place, with discussions and consent and actual love and affection. The problem I had with the book was the execution to get there.

Dang Jenn wrote another great book. This was about Aisling. It was just her and her mom at the beginning. They moved around a lot but Aisling never knew why. She thought it was because her mom was running from Aisling’s father. She never found out why either. When she came home from school one day she found her mother deceased. She didn’t know what to do because she was a minor and she didn’t want to be put into the system. She was able to stay under the radar for a few days until her landlord who was interested in her mom found her. She packed up what she could and she left. He refused to let her stay for the rest of the month since the rent was paid. He was a jerk. She had a part time job at the coffee shop working for Mr Lars. He watched out for her. She ended up sleeping in the park for a while. She told him she needed another job and so he told her about his brother needing help so she went to work for him at the bar even though she was a minor. He knew her age and he didn’t care. She saved enough money to get an apartment with 2 other omegas. On her 18th birthday everything changed for her. She met this guy Aiden who ended up was looking for her on behalf of her father. She didn’t know who her dad was but she told him she would meet him. They went to her apartment to pack her stuff up and she left with Aiden to meet her dad. He told her she could stay there. He didn’t know she existed until he found a note from her mother that his wife hid from him. He and Aiden took care of that problem if you know what I mean. She had a rough first year and she told her dad she wanted help so he called his doctor for the next one. He ended up getting her set up with an IV to knock her out. One day Aiden told her father that he was her match when he found her in the middle of her heat. He laid with her after sneaking into the house and to her nest. She used scent blockers so she had no clue. I love how this all
Played out. It kept me on my toes not knowing where this was headed.

All I have to say is wow, wow ,wow 😳. This book. You have Omegas= werewolf. This is now my 2nd book with werewolves and I am loving it. I really need to read more. Then you have 1 woman that they ALL want, yes I just did say that!!! BUT there is a problem... She hate them all cause one messed up.

They can smell her (Aisling) when she goes into her heat and did I happen to tell you they all smell beautiful 🤣. Sugar cookies, syrup, leather, orchids and so much more. I mean why can't all men smell like that! Plus Aisling is amazing! She is a beautiful soul as you can tell in the book and fighting for her kind and helping them out. Just as she is trying to hide herself in the process. Poor girls go through a lot in the beginning of the book but who doesn't love drama in a book. 🙇🏼‍♀️ She turns everything bad that happens to her into a positive and I love it.

Then you got Omegas Mafia, men in masks ( a first for me) they fall first, hating her pack, dating app and so much more. This book was really fun to read and see what happens next. I am so excited to see what happens next in this series when we get one.

At times in this book I felt like it was kinda repetitive about knowing (Aisling) and her pack info but in the same time I feel some books need to be like that. Especially when they are as big as this one. Great refresh at times.

Overall this book gives you so much emotion. I hated the Omegas and wanted to hurt them myself for some of the things they did, then fall in love with them all over, then almost cried with all the feelings that got thrown at me along with wanting to just hug (Aisling) and tell her it ok cause I am a mother and that's what mothers do!!! Then the 🌶️ 🔥 that was on point. Some of the stuff I had to look up cause I haven't heard about it before, so a great little change for everything that always in other books.

Just read this book! 😂 That all!

Best quote: Fk a duck.🤣🤣🤣🤣 ( If you grow up in the 90s this was your saying!

I've read the other books in this series and for the most part found them enjoyable. This story really needed a lot of polish. We did not need the first part of the story which seems to serve as a recap of how Aisling gets to the point where we met her in the first book. I honestly don't recall Aisling being so annoying in the first book.

She constantly word vomits her life story and for someone who is described as being a smart, scrappy street kid she overshares way too much. Her first interaction with Wren is so uncomfortable, weird and unrealistic. Who just goes up to someone and basically gives them their bio?

Too much information was repeated multiple times. This story felt like a rough draft or an outline of what the author wanted to have happen that was never polished. I was not a big fan of Aisling for a few reasons. She basically dumps the people who helped her at the beginning, she blindly moves in with her dad with zero proof he is her dad, she's described as being "mature" multiple times but often acts immature, she never felt like she had a real personality - her personality was just her dedication to the shelter she and Wren started, and she just word vomits her life story at everyone who will listen.

I stuck it out longer than I probably should have. I quit about 80% in when Aisling went from virgin to someone into some BDSM stuff. Like they did stuff to her during her heat that should have been discussed beforehand. Aisling had no real way to consent to stuff they did and them biting her during her heat wasn't appropriate. They aren't even sorry for the boundaries they overstep; they basically just say "get over it" and she acts like she's in high school by giving them the cold shoulder rather than communicating.

Just overall a poorly written story. I think this is my last by this author. I got really tired of hearing about their Omega Center and it was just CONSTANTLY mentioned. I get it you want to help others, we don't need to hear about it every other page.

I enjoyed the first two books a pretty good bit but this one not so much... it needs some work. There's some major contradictions in the plot line. At one point Hayes has colorful tattoos when she first meets him then later he only has one she can't see on his thigh, then Hayes tells the guys through text how he messed up but then later he tells them after her heat, this isn't the only inconsistencies either just some examples of the top of my head. Another thing I had a problem with is that i expected so much more from Aislings character because of wrens book. She seemed like such a badass and don't get me wrong she's still semi bad but cries about everyrhing for about 70% of the book when she should of been kicking ass. Also the author never mentioned birthcontrol for our fmc.... I get that this is a fictional book but I personally like when authors try to show in some way that the characters are adults who go about intimacy maturely (like discussing if they may have something, if they need to use condoms, or if there's any hard limits-we got the limits but not until after the fact and no condoms with the fmc and no concequences)because even though this book is 18+ doesn't mean that younger ones won't read it. So they need to see the mature way of thinking about sex and the possible concequences of not going about it in a safe way. Anywho this doesn't detract from the story but it does in the rating I'll give it (I usually just deduct a point). One last complaint the males were supposedly in a relationship together but we didn't get all the mmcs in an intimate encounter with each other. Usually it was the beta with an alpha. And maybe an alpha kissed an alpha. But no full on orgies like we got in the first book. It felt like this story was written from a different author than the first where the mm was abundant lol. Idk it was all just kinda of a let down. Idk I just wanted more. It's still goodish, so I'm rating it a 2.5 rounded to a 3 .

This book was a journey and I absolutely loved it. The character growth was amazing. The healing, the support, the love even the arguments and fighting had me hooked.

I'm not gonna go into too many details about the book bc a lot happens plus this is the kind of book that's so good you have to just dive in. I am gonna say that I love how the author goes about mental health. In this book specifically it shows how everyone deals with their mental health very differently. You can't force someone to get help/ talk to anyone unless their ready and want the help. You just have to be there to support them in everything which is exactly what these characters did with their partners.

The men were absolutely obsessed with Aisling. They messed up a lot but this is were the growth comes in. They realized their mistakes and learned from it. I absolutely love how she made them work for it. She did not forgive them easily no matter how she was hurting. Aisling made time for all of them. The chemistry she had with them were off the charts.

As much as I loved the guys and Aisling my favorite relationship was between her and her dad. This man was a scary deadly saint. He loves his daughter so much and will literally moved mountains for her if he could. I really liked how they were able to built a strong connection and how he supported her in everything.

I said I wasn't gonna go into details but once I started typing I can't stop 😭😭😭. Aisling was such a strong admirable woman. She went through a lot and even when she felt like she was at her lowest all she did was worry about other people. She's my superwoman.

I know how this author writes so I'm not even gonna ask about certain things that didn't her resolved bc I know it's gonna happen when it needs to in another book. BUT this is me begging for Daddy Cian to her his own story pretty pls 🩷

RH with MM, some talk of children in the first 17% but I didn’t get too far in this one to know if there is actual pregnancy or children.

DNF at 18% when the first scent matched MMC says “‘Will you suck my dick if I tell you?’ I ask. I’m a psychotic brat for Daddy,”

It felt like the author was just writing words down, not building personalities that I would refer to as “brat” or “psycho.”

The first 17% of the book was alright, I didn’t see very much dark to qualify it as dark romance but I was willing to give it time to get there. Mostly the FMC was down on her luck then her bosses her helped her, then her coworkers helped her, then her bio dad found her and helped her and spoiled her, then she found new friends who helped her. All in the first 17% of the book.

The reader didn’t see much of the FMC’s suffering before she started being taken care of and that made the caretaking aspect of her found family read as shallow. Tell not show, if you know what I mean.

I also understand that this is the third standalone in a series of standalone but the references to previous events were a little confusing, not enough to slow me down initially or influence me to try and read the first two books (which I also DNFed without a review. I guess I can’t convince myself to write an author off that easily? Who knows why I keep trying.)

Also the way the FMC suddenly knows how to use a knife and kills people was a little much for me to digest. It’s one thing to be trained how to use a knife in defense and another to use that knife with calm precision for the very first time ever after training. And no trauma from killing people (people) off page but also no psychotic personality to explain that away?

I don’t think I’ll be finishing this book.

⚠️ non con between h and pack member

✅ no ow drama, brief mention of two pack members being manwhores with betas outside the pack, stops when find h

So this definitely wasn’t as dark as the first book, I’m not sure I’d even describe it as dark really. There’s no gore, no descriptive acts of violence…yeah the pack kidnaps her but she’s in heat and doesn’t resist at all. My favorite character in the book was her father Cain, who basically gave the boys the ok to kidnap her but shoots towards them at will 😂.

Ainslings character unfortunately annoyed me. Talk about a martyr. Yes her mom died when she was 16, but she had the help of two alphas to keep her fed and clothed. Then once she meets her Dad she basically ghosts them and goes on and on about how she had to live in the woods for a few days. She now has a Dad who’s rich, powerful and dotes on her! But all her inner monologue is about how hard she had it and how she’s running herself ragged with her self imposed schedule. Like yeah millions of people have crazy schedules too without a doting father and four pack members. Cry me a river. I had a hard time connecting with her.

Moving on I also didn’t feel much during the sex scenes or connect with the alphas. I think it may be a me problem, but I got bored hearing so much over and over about Omegas Haven and it was repetitive. I could have done with 100 less pages.

I’m sure many many people will enjoy this story but nothing about it excited me unfortunately, except the Dad.

Okay, Forget was exactly the kind of heavy, messy, emotional chaos I was hoping for when it came to Aisling’s story. This girl has been through hell, and watching her claw her way back to herself while surrounded by a pack who seriously needed to step up (and grovel)? Chef’s kiss.

Her alphas, Aiden, Caelin, Domhnall, and Evan, have all made some truly unforgivable choices, and this book doesn’t shy away from that. There’s no magical forgiveness. Aisling makes them work for every inch of trust, and honestly, watching them actually earn it? So satisfying. The groveling, the self-awareness, the uncomfortable conversations, it all felt real. They’re still a little unhinged, a little toxic, but in that exact way that works for this kind of omegaverse world.

And then there’s Cian, her dad. Actual MVP. Every scene with him just broke me in the best way. The softness, the unconditional love, the unwavering belief in her strength? We need more good dads in omegaverse, and Cian delivers.

The only reason it’s not a full five stars? It was emotionally dense, and at times I felt like I needed a breather from the heaviness. Some pacing dips here and there too, but honestly? I’d still absolutely recommend it.

If you’re into:
✨ Dark omegaverse with actual emotional consequences
✨ Slow, painful redemption arcs
✨ Found family vibes in a world that feels stacked against them
✨ A heroine who reclaims everything

Then Forget will absolutely give you what you’re looking for. Aisling? She’s that girl.

Absolutely phenomenal

5 phenomenal stars!!!

10/10 DO RECOMMEND!

I LOVED SO MUCH ABOUT THIS BOOK!!!

As a Social Worker, founding board member of a nonprofit, and a psychosocial rehabilitation group facilitator, I am so impressed with everything that encompasses Omegas Haven.

This might be one of the absolute best representations of a trauma informed agency and what it takes to start and run a nonprofit that I have EVER READ in a fiction book EVER!!! representations truly matters and it means so much to see how much planning and thought went into this book.

I've thought for a while how that being an Omega seems to be very similar to being neurodivergent and this book solidified that theory for me. I swear it was like reading an extremely accurate representation of a woman with ADHD. Aside from the slick and other omegaverse elements, this very well could've been an ADHD rep book. The super structured day, getting to busy you forget to eat or any other bodily function, empath/emotional sensitivity, needing things a particular way or having a system that makes sense to you and other Neurodivergent people but not Neurotypical people, the increased arousal/libido, etc. It was really refreshing to read.

This book had me in my feels soooo many times and I absolutely loved every single minute of it! Talk about messing me up emotionally!!!

A phenomenal choice for my first read by this author. I am 100% now going to obsess over your backlist now.

i wanted so much more from this book. it was mostly smut (which i have zero problems with) except for most of the smut was not good. i’m so sorry in advance but if i had to read the phrase “little [redacted] queen” one more time, i was going to be physically ill.

i liked aisling’s relationship with her dad, but other than that, this book didn’t really offer a whole lot. honestly the most interesting part was the creation of the haven and the organization and planning behind creating a facility like that.

unfortunately the relationships in this book just felt off. there was so much that felt like literally no one knew what was happening. barely any of these people seem to talk to her?? and i get that the beginning of this is kinda stalker-y, so they don’t all really have the chance to.

but all the conflict in this book feels like the kinds of conflict that could all be solved by having a conversation, except for aiden is busy throwing tantrums and assaulting people and aisling is busy whining about how no one listens to her even though she refuses to talk to them.

it’s all very juvenile and annoying, to be quite honest.

it also just doesn’t feel like a romance. i get that it’s a dark romance and that’s all fine, but it doesn’t feel like this is a story of people falling in love. this is more just a story of begrudging roommates who are always angry at each other but still have a biological imperative to have sex.

This book was a on the weird side to me. I read a lot of DR so I was expecting this book to be dark. In my opinion it’s DR light lol.

My main issue with this book is that it bounces in between themes which make no sense to me. The FMC has chosen to dedicate her life saving Omegas and defending them. However, she has a dad and a pack who don’t do that themselves.

The author did a weak job at giving the Alphas in this book redemption arcs. Why would an Omega who saves Omegas for a living be okay with being kidnapped and mildly raped? That doesn’t add up. The Omega Haven and the saving of Omegas is such a primary theme of the book. Why did the author make this DR it should have just been romance so it doesn’t seem silly that FMC ended up with a not so good pack.

The author does allow the MMCs to grovel, I guess. But it didn’t feel genuine or logical. Overall, I disconnected from the book when they “kidnapped” her. I finished the book but everything after that was weird.

Also the beginning of the story is a little disconnected. The FMC builds an entire life and then just abruptly abandons it and the family she created. Then she calls her new found father dad the first 30 minutes she meets him and then moves in. Then she randomly starts being interested in knives and is magically a great fighter within 2 months. It literally makes no sense.
