“The Wharton series is one of the most enjoyable set of stories I’ve read in some time. The author’s knowledge of general naval operations and British naval history during the Age of Sail makes for compelling reading. I can hardly wait for the next volume to be released."
”He has a unique way of getting you into the story one of the many writers who do that for me I've enjoyed every book i have read of his eagerly waiting for his next one
"I have enjoyed all of the books in the Wharton series and look forward to many more. Tiger Wharton indeed."
“The latest in the series is every bit as good as all the other books in the series. A good Navel read”
“If you enjoy reading navel fiction, I recommend the Wharton books.”
If you enjoyed the first 10 books of this series, why wouldn’t you read the 11th. This is another in a line of great sea adventures and interesting people. Edwardson knows how to write an Napoleonic Navy.
This series is moving along nicely. The “Tiger” gets to practice his diplomatic skills in this episode, particularly in the Northern waters of the Baltic. Some action on his way home generates a lot of prize money, but some angst for losing a ship while doing so.
This is an excellent telling of the life and career of Captain Wharton of the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Era. The tactics and actions are well and interestingly described as are the many characters from the common jack seamen to royalty. If you have any interest in this time period you would do well to read this book and the series which will soon include book twelve.
Little political intrigue with a lot of Naval Action
This book has our hero involved in the politics of the Napoleonic Age. It bit of a change but have no fear there is still so.e naval combat. Wharton is a likeable character and this has shown up in this book and the past 10 books in the series. The books are just fun to read.
Honors earned and bestowed. The breaking of Napoleon’s hold on european nations. War with America and treacherous Danes to be dealt with. A positive view of Prinny the Prince regent. And to top it off a windfall of prize money from a captured French convoy.
Sailing books. I really do lean towards a great deal of action. So far they have not disappointed me Fortunately, my husband loves to sail so he provides a ready source of information for me.
Courage, honor, and confidence. That’s what our sea officers are made. Together with our sailor men with hearts of oak, there can be only one outcome. Rule Britannia- May God save the King!
