Fantasy and Science Fiction

Summary: Charlie and his family are very poor and by a stroke of luck Charlie is the recipient of one of Willy Wonka's golden tickets. He goes to the amazing Wonka factory and see's the most wonderful world of Wonka's chocolate factory with the hopes of winning the fabulous prize that Mr. Wonka has promised to one of his lucky five guests.

Critique: The author did a very good job at making you feel like you are charlie and going threw his life and experiences. The plot of the story is very easy to fallow and you defiantly have the feeling of reality and fantasy throughout this story. This story is very fun and exciting. It's a great read for all and it's very enjoyable.

Response: I really enjoyed this story. I was fun to read all of the wacky inventions of Mr. Wonka and to picture what his wonderful factory would be like. It really draw you into the story and makes you feel as if you one of the five children who were selected to be on his once and a lifetime tour of his factory. I related it to life by comparing the way that the children behaved to a lot of children's behavior. Some of the characters really jumped out at me as individual that I have meet. I think this book would be really good for a class read aloud and their are so many projects that you could come up with that relate to this novel.

This has to be one of my most favourite childhood books! I cant remember how many times I have read it from cover to cover....I love it so much my daughter now has her own copy!
And it so totally helps that this great story is about a Chocolate Factory....No Brainer there!
The morals that have been written into this book are what stick in my mind tho, such a fantastic book for the young to read and continue thru the ages...I bet if I picked this up again I would find yet another moral and meaning in it that I missed as a child.
I hope this is one book they never stop printing!

This book is about how five lucky kids get the chance to tour the inside of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Charlie is the most grateful kid in the bunch and he ends up with the craziest surprise of all time. Kids will love this book because most children love candy and they will love to fantasize about being in a chocolate factory.
