Gabe is the CEO of Whitley enterprises and he is probably the most laid-back millionaire CEO I’ve ever read, but he is the typical workaholic never want to settle down type there is it till he meets Diane. Diane is newly single after getting dumped, her ion situation could be better…
The chemistry between Diana and Gabe was instant! This book had the perfect amount of romance ans spice. I loved this for the most part they didn’t beat around the bush, and their relationship started early, so we didn’t have to go through the will they, won’t they game and they both were exactly what each other needed. I would love to go to a Whitley family dinner!
This story was just absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to catch up on the other books is this series, so I can be ready to see who grandma Jeanie sets up next!
Tropes: Billionaire Romance, Forced Proximity, HEA, Roommates to Lovers
Gabe is usually the casual type of guy, but Diane changed everything. Grandmother is always playing matchmaker, but this time she took a step back. Grandmother saw what was going happen before Gabe did. Gabe offered the attic of his rental house to his employee's sister. He didnt think it was going to be this hard to fight their physical connection. Turns out to be harder then he think but they both throw caution to the wind and took a chance.
Eh. This book kind of carried on the overarching storyline of the brothers and their family but not really. Past books have had much more of the family and this one felt like family was kind of a passing thought. I didn’t feel like the characters had chemistry.
Gabe was kind of just there. No depth, no complexity. Diane is blah. She just goes through the motion. The book was fine. Not great but fine. Don’t regret the read but am questioning if I should continue with the series…
Love Gabe and Diane. They are fire together. Gabe fancies himself the casual type but Diane changes everything so fast his mind spins. Grandmother is always meddling but thsi time she might not need to. Diane is clearly down on her luck and her ex is a piece of work, bit she is so hardworking and she deserves the best. These two are hot and so sweet. Can't wait for the next brother ;)
DNF at 63%, absolutely zero chemistry, goes from 0 to 100, the FMC’s whole personality is being clumsy and the writing is quite amateur like he did this and then he did this
Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Enchanting the CEO! I loved every moment on every page of Enchanting the CEO, the fifth book in her The Whitley Brothers series, it filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and it was impossible to put it down. Layla Hagen definitely did not disappoint her readers with Enchanting the CEO and has once again delivered an incredible story filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I love how Layla Hagen continues to write the love stories that I love to read. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. One of my favorite parts of her books is how she incorporates the picture on the cover of the book into the love story. I am not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another amazing book. She has once again proven that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. Enchanting the CEO is filled with all those elements that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Enchanting the CEO is the love story of Gabe Whitley, CEO of Whitley Bar & Distillery, and Diane Richardson, the sister of Gabe’s employee, Celia. Diane relocated to Boston with her boyfriend, Chuck, who she supported through graduate school. Things did not work out between Diane and Chuck, so Diane moved in with Celia and took a job at Boston Guided Tours as a tour guide, while waiting for something in the hotel industry to open up. Diane starts freelancing online as French tutor to make additional money. Gabe currently rents a house near the house he recently purchased that is under renovation. When helping move furniture at Celia’s apartment, he asks Diane if she would want to rent the attic of the place he is currently living. His current neighbor is looking to move out and needs someone to take over his lease. Diane takes Gabe up on the offer. Diane and Gabe agree that they do not want to get involved with each other since Celia works for Gabe. Relationships are not Gabe’s thing, he has always kept easygoing, and does not want to repeat the sins of his father. Celia warns Diane that Gabe likes to hook up. Diane loves to cook and makes dinner for them while Gabe makes breakfast. I love Gabe’s epic failure at making dinner. One of my favorite parts is how Gabe’s grandmother, Jeannie is up to her match matching skills and wants Gabe to take her to play bridge. Gabe wants to show his grandmother his new house, they are out front as Diane pulls up with her belongings. Jeannie decides that she does not need Gabe to take her to play bridge after all. Things heat up quickly between Diane and Gabe as they spend time as neighbors, especially after they tour Gabe’s new house. Conversation between Diane and Gabe flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Gabe constantly flirting with Diane. I love the secrets that Diane shares about her upbringing, her mother’s health and what happened with Chuck and how Gabe shares the secrets about his father and half-brothers. I love all the changes in Gabe makes as he spends time with Diane. I love how Gabe gets all the Whitleys together to be part of Diane’s first tour when she decides to start her own Boston area tour company. I love Diane and Gabe’s love story, and how plot twists change things between them. I love the heart-to-heart conversation that Gabe had with Helen, his half-brothers’ mother, that helped him realize what he really wanted from life. Gabe realizes that he needs to let Diane know how important she is to him and how much he cares for her, and that he wants her to move into his new home with him. I love that Gabe and Diane admit their true feelings for one another and the changes that each of them makes to have a life together and how what they wanted out of life changes. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Enchanting the CEO. I love Diane and Gabe’s love story and the descriptions of the Boston setting. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Enchanting the CEO, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Whitley brothers, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. My favorite characters are Grandmother and Grandfather, Jeannie, and Abe Whitley. I loved the bittersweet and poignant moments, as well as the unexpected plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story. Enchanting the CEO was a wonderful love story. I love that the ending of Diane and Gabe’s love story was more than a happily ever after. My favorite part of the story is Gabe’s proposal to Diane and how he pulled it off. I also love the ending hints at the identity of the next Whitley sibling. I loved catching up with the Whitley siblings and cannot wait to read more books about the other Whitley brothers. Highly recommend this incredible love story. I received an advanced copy from the author.
Enchanting the C.E.O. is I believe the 5th book in Layla Hagen’s Whitley Bros. series. This one features Gabe the youngest of the original family who grew up in Boston. The best way to explain this if you’re new to this series is to tell you that Gabe’s father had a secret family with another wife and four sons living in Maine while his original wife and sons live in Boston. After his bigamy was discovered he absconded off to Australia leaving both of the families he’d made behind without a word or a look back. The first books in this series have focused on the Boston Whitley brothers while slowly introducing the Maine branch. Because after this book the series will focus on the brothers who grew up in Maine, while we see all the Whitley brothers and their now significant others in this story, the brothers who grew up in Maine have a larger presence than those from Boston. As our story opens Gabe has just left one of the distilleries he owns that is adjacent to the upscale bar he recently opened to see if they need any help. We’re briefly introduced to Celia one of his best and most beautiful bartenders. It’s quiet and Celia is at the end of the bar talking to a stunning blonde. As Gabe describes her, she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. Turns out that woman is Diane, Celia’s older sister. Gabe is a confirmed flirt and bachelor with a reputation for womanizing and absolutely no intention of settling down. He knows with Diane being Celia’s sister she can’t be one of his hookups but he can’t help himself from flirting with her. Diane has recently broken up with her loser boyfriend Chuck whom she supported through grad. school and then moved with him to Boston. But now that Chuck had started to find some success in his career and Diane is struggling since giving up her good job to follow him to Boston he’s letting his true asshole come out. Not that he ever wasn’t an asshole. He’s just more of one now that he thinks Diane is financially dependent upon him. Why the beautiful, intelligent and kind Diane ever put up with this dick for as long as she did, I never came to understand? Diane has been working as a tour guide but her boss just cut her hours so her landlord has preemptively evicted her even though she hasn’t missed a rent payment yet. Diane is going to temporarily move in with Ceclia, sharing her small apartment until she can get her feet back on the ground and afford a place of her own. Gabe has just rented a large house across the street from the home he’s remodeling so he can keep an eye on the construction progress. When you’re uber rich you can afford to do these things. But the house has a small attic apartment rented to someone else whose presence annoys Gabe but the landlady won’t allow him to rent both spaces. When he discovers the cubby hole in Ceclia’s apartment Diane is calling a bedroom he suggests she rent the attic apartment in his house. It’s not great but its better than the room she has with Cecelia and the rent is affordable for her. Despite all the reasons they both have for not getting involved with each other it isn’t long after Diane moves in that they’re banging like bunnies. Diane brings out all kinds of feelings in Gabe like protectiveness, jealousy and an unquenchable desire to be in her presence that he’s never experienced before. Diane has similar feelings for Gabe but having just gotten out of a bad long term relationship with Chuck the loser she’s afraid to fully let herself fall with Gabe. These two like all good contemporary romance protagonists are perfect for each other and like all good contemporary romance protagonists they’re terrible at communicating the important things. Like what will happen to them when Gabe’s new house is ready to move into? While Gabe and Diane are falling deeper in love and finding their stride as a couple, Gabe is dealing with the threat that his estranged father has returned to the Boston area and is thinking of opening a hotel there. Gabe and his siblings don’t want his father putting the Whitley name on any business he is the head of anywhere near Boston. Despite the fact she’s now dating a billionaire Diane insists on maintaining her financial independence and is struggling to juggle two jobs to maintain it. And Chuck the dickhead is still sending her obnoxious text messages just to mess with her. I’m a guy but even I can tell by the way Gabe treats Diane he’s swoon worthy book boyfriend material for you ladies. And Diane, well hell yeah, she’s pretty much the perfect woman. The other Whitley siblings and their significant others make brief appearances to support the couple. Diane’s sister Cecila is a nice character. I have to wonder if she’ll get matched with one of the remaining Whitley brothers or someone else before this series is complete? There’s plenty of romance and hot sex in this story with only a little bit of relationship angst. It never ceases to amaze me how characters in a contemporary romance can share so much physical intimacy and so little emotionally intimacy for so long. These two are living together for al intents and purposes, yet both are afraid to put a label on what they are. Mostly because of course Gabe despite all of his wonderfulness is still just one of us clueless males when it comes to understanding what the women of our heart’s desire needs from us.
Not really sure why I finished this. These were super flat characters and a dragged out story line. Generally, I know what I’m getting into and I’m fine with plotless romance but this was just awkward the entire time.
I was so excited to get Gabe’s story. I feel like it’s been a long time when in reality, it really hasn’t been. Maybe I was just waiting for it that it seems this way. Compared to the other stories, this one had a different vibe. This was either the book that had the least amount of drama or maybe the second least. I recall another one being pretty mild with no drama as well. Gabe and Diane’s story was pretty straightforward. There wasn’t any pacts or deals drawn between the two of them to not start a relationship. Instead, they let the attraction take over and just let it be. They allowed themselves to get lost in the desire, need and connection with each other. I can’t tell you how great that was. There was no expectations or forbidden feel to it and there was really no need. Diane was worried there for a second with falling for her sister Celia’s boss as she didn’t think it would sit well with her, when in reality, Celia was nervous about it but they didn’t get into an argument or falling out over it. Compared to other books I’ve read, it was refreshing to just have one of those feel good stories with no pre-conceived notions or situations that would start conflicts. I enjoyed being in Gabe’s point of view and like his philosophy with life. He’s very laid back but knows when to be serious and when is a good time to crack a joke. I loved how he overthinks things like I do and his vibe is completely different from all the other brothers. If Gabe was an actual person, I can see myself falling for a guy like him and understand why Diane let herself be spoiled and all in with him even though she stated multiple times she isn’t looking for anything serious. In this case, I think Gabe was the one who succumbed to his feelings first and it took Diane most of the book until she realized she was all in and serious about him too. I loved following along with their journey and the support they gave one another was priceless, plus how they were with each other. There was no secrets or trust issues. Gabe told her everything from the get go, except the full emotions he felt for her. He just assumed she felt the same way and didn’t question it. There was no case of miscommunication with them, only holding back thoughts for fear of scaring each other off but also expressing how both felt the same way about each other. They did all this and managed to have some steamy scenes with each other which made this all even better. I can’t wait to see what Layla does with Maddox, Leo and Nick, leaving me even more excited for Maddox’s story in June. So close, yet so far away. Happy to give this book a 5, and it is much deserved.
A Passionate Roommates-to-Lovers Billionaire Romance
In "Enchanting the CEO" by Layla Hagen, readers are drawn into a whirlwind romance filled with sizzling chemistry, forbidden attraction, and the timeless theme of finding love in unexpected places.
When Gabe, a commitment-phobic playboy, offers his empty attic as a temporary housing solution for Diane, his employee's sister, he never anticipated the intense physical connection that would ignite between them. Their close quarters provide the perfect breeding ground for temptation, and as Diane's sass ignites Gabe's desire, the thin line between professional boundaries and personal desire begins to blur. Can Gabe resist crossing that line, or is Diane worth risking everything for?
Narrated from the alternating perspectives of Gabe and Diane, the story entices readers with its playful banter, steamy encounters, and a hint of forbidden romance. The undeniable chemistry between the characters leaps off the pages, making their attraction feel palpable and authentic. As Diane grapples with her recent heartbreak, her desire to avoid further complications and protect her sister's position adds a layer of tension and complexity to their blossoming relationship.
The author explores the billionaire romance trope, adding an element of opulence and luxury to the story. With a touch of forced proximity, as Gabe and Diane navigate the challenges of living together, the plot takes on an engaging and entertaining dynamic. Hagen's vivid descriptions transport readers into lush settings, capturing the glitz and glamour that accompanies Gabe's affluent lifestyle.
In true romance fashion, "Enchanting the CEO" delivers a satisfying happily-ever-after. The journey from roommates to lovers is filled with passion, heartache, and self-discovery, ultimately leading Gabe and Diane to confront their deepest desires and make choices that will shape their futures.
Readers seeking a contemporary romance with plenty of heat, charming characters, and a touch of forbidden love will find "Enchanting the CEO" an enjoyable read. This book offers an escape into a world where love can flourish in unexpected circumstances, proving that sometimes the most alluring connections are found when we least expect them.
I finished it, but it was disappointing compared to the others in the series. It started out okay but then didn’t go anywhere. The characters seemed to rely more on chemistry than conversation. There’s no 3rd act break-up, just a couple misunderstandings in the book. There was one subplot that looked like it might turn into something interesting - but no. He did a romantic gesture then told her she needed to submit to him which felt more annoying than spicy, but by then I just wanted it all to be done.
We loved this story from cover to cover what a page-turner that was infectious with laughter and fun. Gabe and Diane's story had us laughing and smiling throughout it.
This couple had chemistry galore the sexy interludes were super hot. It was lust at first sight for this couple. The characters of this story were wonderful and loved Gabe's boisterous family with their wives and girlfriends and his grandparents were gems.
Although this story can be read as a standalone I loved that we read them in order as the is some ongoing family drama that starts from the beginning of the series and moves throughout it.
Diane was perfect for Gabe he needed her to balance out the workaholic in him and make him slow down a bit and enjoy life and let's not forget Gabe's match-making grandma has set her sights on him this time around.
Loved Cole's character as well he was a good boss, sexy, compassionate, loving giving, protective, and possessive even though he was a bit of a control freak and came with a dominant nature he had to be careful with Diane as she was a strong and independent and dreams of her own. Somehow they balanced each other out and loved that the most about them. Diane was such a kind and loving soul who was giving and fun and loving and so worthy of being loved.
This was a beautiful read loved the scorching chemistry between them and how supportive of one another they were. Loved their journey to finding more with each other and enjoyed the fact that both characters grew throughout the story there were stumbling blocks, misunderstandings, lack of saying what was on their minds sometimes but, she fit him perfectly and vice versa and she fit so well with his awesome family. Their courtship was perfect and was fun to watch so many tender and swoon-worthy moments. The ending was priceless loved it to pieces. Loving this series and can't wait for the next read.
Enchanting The CEO Whitley brothers #5 Layla Hagen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story was a very sweet read. Gabe Whitley should be every woman’s dream man. He’s smart, sexy, has great work ethic and suer smart. He likes woman but doesn’t do the relationship thing. That would until the sister of one of his employees shows up at his distillery. On first glance Gabe knew he was in trouble, he just didn’t know how much and how happy he’d be.
When Diane moved to Boston to get away from her aweful ex boyfriend, she was setting a new life for herself. She loved her job as a tour guide and had moved into her sisters very cramped home. When she finds out Celia’s boss is looking fir a roommate while his new home is being built, she jumps at the chance. The attic is tiny but it would do as she continues to set up her new life what she hadn’t encountered was the chemistry between her and Gabe, she felt it early in but now sharing a place, the opportunity to use his kitchen downstairs and spending maximum time together, is not long before roomies turn to lovers!
With Both Gabe and Diane out of their comfort zones in the relationship department, their coupling was as expected, their chemistry continued to grow creating a beautiful relationship to last the ages…. But as clueless comes unto affect, and Gabe‘s house gets closer to finished questions begin to arise, Diane chooses to not ask the important questions and poor Gabe is clueless in the game, it’s the Whitley brothers who give him the push he needs to speak the Forever deal with Diane.
Looks like Jeannie Whitley has marked another grandson from the Boston bachelor off the list….
She’s a white-picket-fence kind of girl, but I only do casual. My first mistake? Asking her to be my roommate.
Gabe When someone’s down on their luck, I like to help out. Diane needed a place to stay, and my attic was empty. How hard could it be to have a temporary roommate? It turns out—very hard.
Living with her is turning out to be physically impossible. Every time she saunters through the living room, I can’t help but want her. Whenever she gives me sass, I fantasize about kissing that mouth until she begs for more. But she is my employee’s sister and that is a line I can’t cross…or can I?
Diane
At first I was a little leery about accepting Gabe’s offer, because he’s my sister’s boss. But Gabe is the best. He’s not only generous and fun (and hot!), but also considerate. One night after dinner in the city he does the gentlemanly thing and walks me to my door — only, I manage to stumble, rip my dress and flash him my various lady parts. It’s a full-on disaster! Or so I think.
The man gives me the hottest kiss of my life— toe curling, sparks-flying, panty-melting hot. Even though I’ve just been through the break-up from hell, I can’t resist his charms.
But I don’t want to embarrass my sister by getting involved with Gabe. Besides, he and I want different things in life.
Just this once, though, I’d love to throw caution to the wind…

Loved Gabe and Diane's story. I was hooked within the first few pages. Lots of chemistry between these two. Their story was beautifully written. Highly recommend.
I’ve been loving this series and Gabe Whitley has moved up to be my favorite brother. “Enchanting the CEO” is a flirty, heartfelt and steamy roommates to lovers that had me swooning over Gabe and Diane’s story.
Diane had relocated to Boston with her now ex-boyfriend and is looking for a place to stay so she can get out of her sister’s small apartment. Gabe Whitley is one of the CEOs of Whitley Enterprises and is laidback and isn’t afraid to jump in to help his employees. When he meets Diane, he feels an instant attraction to her. But since she’s the sister of one of his employees, he doesn’t make a move. But when he finds out she needs a place to live, he sets her up with the attic apartment in the house he is renting. With them living in close proximity, the connection between them grows.
Oh, how I loved Gabe and Diane from the beginning. Gabe is by far one of the most down to earth billionaires and CEOs ever and that is my favorite thing about him. He wasn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and help his staff out whenever they needed it. I also liked how honest he was a casual dater and never led anyone along. Diane is super relatable to me, and I connected with her instantly. I admired her need to be independent and wanting to make it on her own. Their relationship developed so naturally. It didn’t feel rushed or fake. I loved their conversations, they were friends first and took things at a good pace. They worked on this relationship together and made things work. I love Gabe’s grandmother doing some of her classic meddling to make sure these two got together. The ending was so sweet and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
When Diane finds herself homeless and no where else to go Gabe offers to let her stay with him, thinking he is just being a nice guy helping out. But little did he know his invitation was about to change his life in ways he never thought possible. Because once she is living under his roof, sharing his space, it's the only place he can imagine her being... and that is beyond scary for the eternal bachelor.
Enchanting the CEO is an sizzling little page-turner that is bound to have you blushing throughout. These two think their little arrangement is a temporary one, but when their hearts take notice of the sparks bouncing around between them they soon learn that there is no temporary anything involved with what they are doing. It starts as innocent glances, small talk, and banter, but then a touch happens and that is all it takes to get these two to admit there is more going on between them than attraction. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this eternal bachelor be tamed... it was quite the steamy little adventure!!
From beginning to end this one kept me entertained, these two had serious chemistry and I liked how they just let it take the reigns and follow along. They didn't really fight too much of what happened between them or the few doubts they let creep in, they just fell in love and let their hearts call the shots. It was kind of refreshing to see this take on this trope, very little indecision involved, just butterflies and steamy times! Highly recommend this one, it's words are bound to satisfy!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
The Whitley brothers never disappoint and Enchanting the CEO is no different. Gabe Whitley owns the distillery and bar division of Whitley Industries. Gabe is known as a workaholic. He also has no plans to settle down, even though his grandmother is the family matchmaker and has been trying to set him up with her friends’ nieces and granddaughters for a while. Gabe’s bartender, Celia, has a sister who moved to Boston with her ex-boyfriend and is now living with Celia, due to her hours being cut and the expense of housing. After Gabe first saw her, he couldn’t get Diane out of his mind. Eventually he told her she could rent the attic space where he was renting the downstairs. He was renting there while his house was being remodeled in the neighborhood. There wasn’t much room in the attic but the rent was cheap and Gabe told Diane she could use the kitchen and laundry downstairs. Diane was a great cook and made them dinner often. Gabe had never felt this way about anyone else… couldn’t stop thinking of her, wandering what she was doing and texting her all the time. Finally he asked her on a date and that was after they had used other rooms in Gabe’s downstairs. I never like to give a story away, but know that everything Ms. Hagen writes is 5 star! Gabe’s story is as good if not better than the other Whitley brothers stories. You need to read this one!
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a really awesome story. It stars Gabe Whitley and his employees sister, Diane. It is book 5 in the series but also easily stands alone. If it has any trope I would classify it as roommates falling for each other.
Gabe is building a house and is a total control freak. So he rented a place across from where his house is being built so he can watch the progress on his house. He is renting and has a roommate he does not love but who also wants to move out but can't because of the landlord. So when Diane needs a place, well he convinces her to take over his current roommate's lease.
These two don't know much about each other but they get to know each other when she moves in, and they start hanging out. Its not really a forbidden romance as the only one they hide from is her sister because they think it will be weird for her.
I really enjoyed both characters. They both are really great people and together they have a great chemistry. I loved watching then spend time with each other and fall slowly for each other while also trying to NOT fall for each other. When Diane gets sick, I LOVED how Gabe takes care of her. Totally swoon moments made this book really awesome.
It's Gabe's turn to be voodoo'd by Grandmother but she really didn't even have to do the work. Mr. laidback Millionaire has meet his match with Diane and he wasn't even prepared. A witty story with loads of instant chemistry, little angst and two people who were not looking for more but find none the less.
Gabe is so busy growing the brewery and running the bar that he doesn't have time to date or have a relationship. He had a new project he wants to see if he can get off the ground that will honor his mother. But when he sees an opportunity he is never one to back down and this situation with Diane could be a win win for both of them.
Diane has found herself in a pickle as work has been cut back to part time and she is suddenly living in her sisters spare room after a break up. Determined to make her life better, she is looking for more work and trying to work at getting her feet back on the ground. When she meets Gabe and he provided her with an option for some space of her own and that first next step, she can't say no.
Will the close proximity and the shared space be trouble for Gabe and Diane, or will it be too hard for them to fight the attractions. I recommend you grab your copy and see what happens.

One thing that hasn't changed throughout I don't even know how many years is that I love Layla Hagen and her books. Usually, they are a big hit for me and I LOVE reading them. In this particular case, however, while I enjoyed the book, I found myself not being 100% into it. Don't get me wrong, the book is 4 start worthy in my eyes, it's just that Layla Hagen is a 5 start author for me, so clearly something didn't work out this time. It felt like every single side plot went missing after a point and even Diane's sister was kind of forgotten. Also, some things didn't make sense even when the characters explained them.
It should be noted that Gabe and Diane's relationship was strong and well-built, which is the main task a romance book should accomplish. Both of them had their bad moments but were able to get past them without any drama. I expected a more immature approach from Gabe on some parts and he wasn't so the book gets a point for that. He was very sweet when it came to Diane which is all I could have hoped for. Diane was a little harder to figure out and it was a bumpy road for me and her, hence one more reason for the 4 star rating.
I would recommend it to anyone who loves romance books. The book can be read as a stand-alone since the most important background info is explained in this book.
I absolutely loved Gabe and Diane's story. Gabe is extremely laid back, and the owner of Whitley Distillery and newly opened bar. He has always been a player until the day he lays eyes on Diane, who happens to be his employee, Cecilia's sister. She is down on her luck and recently broken up with her duce bag boyfriend. Diane is living with her sister in a very small apartment when they need help moving a book shelf. Gabe being the gentleman he is, offers to help. When he's near Diane sparks fly, and he's never experienced that feeling around a woman before. When he sees the living condition of the room Diane is staying in, he offers up the attic apartment of the house he is renting. There is already a tenant there, but they don't get along. Diane agrees to come look at the attic. Diane is attracted to Gabe like she's never been before, but is extremely cautious because of the way her ex-boyfriend treated her. This couple has a dynamic interaction and they are smokin hot together. If you're looking for your next book boyfriend, Gabe Whitley is defiantly your man. He will make you swoon! I highly recommend reading this book and the entire series. Layla Hagen has done it again. Fantastic read!
Gabe owns a bar, a brewery, has a great relationship with this brothers, but is not the relationship kind of guy. When Diane arrives at the bar to meet her sister who works there, he feels a connection.
Does she feel it too?
The sparks between these two is electric, and they both fall fast. He knows what he wants, but he’s not good at communicating that to her. She doesn’t want to assume, so they stumble a little.
The way Gabe shows up for her is amazing - taking care of her when she’s sick or when he brings his family along to support her business. He might not have had a girlfriend before, but his actions speak volumes. Even if Diane can’t see that.
This is the fifth book in the Whitley Brothers series, but is a standalone. Characters from previous books appear so you’ll get more enjoyment if you’ve read the others but this can be thoroughly enjoyed as a stand-alone.
Thank you @laylahagen_author and @wildfiremarketingsolutions for the advanced copy of this book. The story flows effortlessly, it is easy to read and you fall for Gabe and Diane as they fall for each other.
Enchanting the CEO is the newest Whitley Brothers installment by Layla Hagen. Gabe Whitley runs the Distillery Division of Whitley Industries. The Distillery is growing by leaps and bounds. So well that Gabe wants to expand. Diane is the sister to Gabe’s bartender, Celia. Due to circumstances Diane is looking for a new place to live. Without thinking Gabe offers a small space in the home he is renting. Both Diane and Gabe experience an instant attraction to each other. Will they fight it or embrace it? Layla Hagen does a great job with the characters slow-burn(sorta), their love of family and having their backs. Gabe and Diane’s story has all the feels - passion, love of family, spicy times, and many more. I very much enjoyed Diane and Gabe’s story. It was a fun read. There are so many Whitley family members you get to visit with that at times I had to stop to think of who was who. Which shows that this is a great big family with lots of love and advice to share with each other. I hope you enjoy Gabe and Diane as much as I did! I can’t wait for the next Whitley to find his perfect match!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found this a breath of fresh air from some of the stories I've read. It wasn't your typical romance. But it was definitely attraction at first sight. Gabe is the youngest of the brothers, but I think sometimes one of the wisest ones.
When Gabe sees Diane, he just can't seem to control his mouth. But I think him speaking before he thinks is a good thing in this case. This isn't really an angst filled book. There are a few blips but not anything major, and it's just a great love story. I totally love Diane. She is a great character and just what Gabe needs.
This book is a great read, and I totally recommend it.
I've read all the books that are available in this series. The premise is good, but after the 3rd book, the sugary sweetness got too much and I stopped reading.
While browsing one day, Maddox's book came up in my suggested reading feed, and I decided to give it a try. I then moved on to Leo's book. Since both those books were okay, I decided to backtrack and read Gabe's book.
I cannot recall the personalities of the other leading ladies in detail, but I do know that I found Diane's character unlikeable. She had nothing going for her and came across as too eager, too forward, too easy, too desperate, too presumptuous, too manipulative, too naive - just too. I really did not like her.
I liked Gabe's character well enough, but his personality was almost a carbon copy of the brothers that came before. And that is my issue with this series: it is the same brother with a tweak here and there, but essentially the same. The story - outside of the different circumstances for each couple - play out in the same way. The thinking is same, the actions are the same (even down to the steamy scenes), and the path to love is the same.
Another hit in this Whitley Brothers series! Gabe will make you swoon, and Diane will have you not only laughing, but swooning right along with her! 5 Whitley Brothers stars for this! Gabe is not looking for love, despite all his grandmothers antics! He's content with his life as it is, he's remodeling a home he bought, running the business and also running the bar! He's set! That is until he meets his employees sister Diane, there is just something about her that is drawing him in. Diane is fresh off a break up that she thought was her forever. She moved along with him when he got this job, only for him to kick her to the curb. Now living with her sister, she's trying to get back on her own feet and determined to do it! When she meets Gabe, sparks fly, but he's her sister's boss, she must stay away, that is until he tells her about the room for rent upstairs from where he's renting. Sit back and enjoy their story as it unfolds! I love this series so much and this one just stole my heart! Catch up on the rest of the series and then grab this one! You will love it!
I love everything about this series and the Whitley brothers are men I would love to have in my corner. Layla Hagen has once again given us a family we would love to call our own and this series has better with each release. Enchanting The CEO(The Whitley Brothers #5) is Gabe and Diane’s journey and I have to say I think he is my favourite Whitley brother. This book is the perfect addition to this wonderful series. Gabe is a man who protects his family and friends so it was no surprise hat he offered a place to stay to one of his employees sister, what was a surprise was the feelings that came rushing to the surface…….. The attraction was instant and the chemistry was sizzling but the road was never going to run smoothly. So will love win the day or will the complicated life these two have ruin everything before it can even begin. Enchanting The CEO has it all, it’s a very special read that will make you smile, make you swoon and have you giggling at the witty banter this family share. I highly recommend you one click this gem of a read.
Gabe is a successful businessman who doesn’t want to be distracted from his area of the family business which is the distillery. When he agrees to help out one of his employees by having her sister become his roommate, he had no idea that it would have him re-evaluating his life and the way he was living it.
When her relationship ended with her boyfriend Diane finds herself infringing on her sister which isn’t a good situation for either of them. The opportunity to live with Gabe will give her the independence she needs and it’s not like she will develop feelings for him as they want very different things in life.
This is a heartwarming story about love and family that is filled with romance and all the feels. Gabe is the perfect mix of sweet and swoony as even though he doesn’t realize it his actions show that his heart was involved long before he acknowledged it and Diane is one lucky woman as even though she doesn’t realize it everything he does or says shows how much he cares.
