Isoebella Lucas writes with the hands of a potter and the heart of a keeper. Her debut novel, The Potter's Story, is a vessel of memory, grief, and sacred invitation—woven with biblical echoes, spiritual depth, and the quiet ache of becoming.

For over two decades, she served as a creative director and advocacy officer, walking alongside young people who were searching for purpose. That ministry shaped her storytelling more than any classroom ever could. She answered her own calling at sixty, witnessing her characters rise from ancient Judea and step into the light.

She lives with her husband and two adopted companions—a stray dog and a stray cat—and prefers to let her symbols speak louder than her image. Her digital sanctuary welcomes readers across the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

Whether through handmade print runs or whispered campaigns, Isoebella believes in the sacred weight of smallness—and the quiet miracle of a story that finds its way.

It is one of the few books that left a mark on me. I was given a book to read, and it was just what I needed to realize. We will all interpret the book differently but it came to me as a tool— a guide that led me to my version of what it meant to have a purpose. After finishing the book, it took me time to digest my moment of clarity. That sudden epiphany got me staring at the ceiling long enough for me to articulate my thoughts into words.

Honestly, this is a very well-written and intriguing book. From the expertly constructed plot to the end of the protagonist’s story. Although this potter’s story was portrayed as a biblical fiction; the characters felt alive, so raw it will leave an impression. I never felt connected to a fictional character as I am with Jonathan. I felt seen and validated. It dawned on me that I was never lost to begin with. I am where I’m supposed to be. The journey may seem like it’s a dead-end, hopeless even, but you need to learn how to trust. Trust that all will make sense in the future. That all the pieces will fall in place when the time is right, and it will lead you to the answers you seek. You just need to read it with an open mind and an open heart.

I absolutely loved The Potter’s Story by Isoebella Lucas. This book is one that is beautifully written and is so descriptive in details. God will give you directions and if we listen we will see, hear, and read books that help us connect closer to him. The young man in this book reminds us that God has great plans for us. I never wanted to be a teacher but somehow I ended up being a special education teacher. I made such a connection with him and am so happy that I had the privilege of reading and learning from a great book with such Christian values. Isoebella has a God given talent for writing and I hunger for more of her books. Please read this book!

Lucas has done a wonderful job at intertwining Biblical truth and familiar characters with Jonathan’s journey from lost soul to redemption.

Running away from your purpose will never bring true peace or personal satisfaction. Only when our life is connected to our Creator can we be truly fulfilled.

I received this book free from the author, publisher, or other source. My only obligation is to provide a fair and honest review.

I LOVED The Potter's Story! It reminds me of Connilyn Cossette's writing and she's my favorite biblical fiction author. I was enthralled by every twist and turn the story took and I loved the revealed connections (what a tangled web we weave 😂). I think my favorite thing, though, was the appreciation and attention to the beauty and power of creativity! This story echoes my ministry beautifully!
