Morally grey cowboy - yes please!!!
Dean in his fringed chaps had me sweating with his dirty mouth, obsessive behaviour and hot bronc riding. He was obsessed with Hannah from first glance and what a two year build up to them finally getting together. I loved that he showed her his softer side and let all of his walls down for her. His stalking always had me giggling and he made me swoony whenever he would swoop in to save her if she needed it, but he gave her her strength when she was more than capable.
Hannah was young but mature for her age. She had a bit of growing up to do in her relationship with Dean but a little twist towards the end makes her face things head on rather than running away or blowing everything up. I liked that she gave Dean a safe place to be himself, they could both be wild and free together.
Such a great cowboy romance - really detailed in the rodeo life I loved learning more about it!

This was the first cowboy romance I’ve read that had me HOOKED. I loved it and was eating up everything Daddy Dean did. When I wasn’t reading the book, I was thinking about it 😂
I loved how strong the FMC, Hannah, is. She has been through a lot and at such a young age, but her determination and wildness is inspiring. Dean not trying to tame her but being there for her at the same time was perfection. This is also the first smutty book I’ve read in a while that didn’t have me skimming the spicy scenes. They didn’t feel fake or over exaggerated.
It is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ so if that is your thing, I highly recommend.

Hung Up was everything I needed and more!
I loved the connection between Dean and Hannah from the first interaction.
Dean is the morally grey, broody cowboy that is a lone soul just keeping to himself. He never stays tied down and doesn’t look for a second chance with a fling until Hannah walks into his life.
Hannah is the all American rodeo girl that keeps to herself and only wants one thing. To make her parents proud. She does not want to be a buckle bunny or get caught up in drama. Little did she know trouble was lurking in the shadows.

I’ve read a lot of cowboy romance over the years. Here lately, I’ve dnf’d a lot of cowboy romances. Why? You ever heard of a “Kmart cowboy”? That’s what current cowboy romances have been like for me. Not real. Fake. They wear all the gear and boots, but it’s all show and no pony. BUT, this book!! It’s the real deal. The author has either lived the life or done her research. Myself, coming from a real rodeo/farm life, I can’t get past my “that’s not how it goes” feelings in a lot of the current cowboy/rural romance books. So I really appreciate it when I read one that’s very on the mark. Plus, the writing and story telling was excellent. I loved both main characters. I wouldn’t say it was dark. Maybe a little darkish in some aspects. They both dealt with a lot of trauma and the author handled them with care….. and man, I loved his inner dialogue when he talked about how he felt for her. Sigh!!…. I normally don’t like a book with a lot of spice. This book had a lot of spice and I didn’t find myself skimming through any of it. I think it’s because I could feel how they felt about each other during those parts. It wasn’t just sex. No matter if it was dirty and kinky or just straight up love making. It was good either way. I really hope we get more from this author. I’ll be the first in line!!

I finished this book last week and I still can’t stop thinking about it. This was a glorious cowboy romance which I very much needed to as a lighter, enjoyable read but wow did it have depth, emotion and heart. Having been lucky enough to enjoy as an ARC, I want to thank Leigh Morgan for trusting me with her story - it resonated and touched me so thank you.
Hannah is a barrel rider, competing at the top level with 3 very distinct rules in place, most importantly to not get attached. But when Dean Wilder, a bare back bronc rider steps into her life, literally, she can’t seem to stay away from the dark, stormy-eyed reckless cowboy and he can’t take his eye off of her either…he has his own rule - to make her his.
This was more than just a cowboy romance, there is real heart, soul and feeling in this book and I loved every page. The heartbreak for Hannah, what made her create her 3 rules and close herself off from the world, made me cry from the early pages. As someone who has experienced similar emotions and events, I really resonated with her and the emotions that she felt during this time. I was so touched with the care and delicate nature that Leigh Morgan took over Hannah’s emotions - thank you again. And the fact that Hannah loves listening to Sleep Token too makes her one of my favourite FMCs!
This is a book with some real spice 🌶️ and true heartbreak and loss - please read the trigger warnings ⚠️ before reading. But if you like romance, cowboys and all things dark and brooding, this is the book for you! I can’t wait for release October 28th and I am still so Hung up about it 😍🤭🥵

This story follows Dean, a bareback bronc rider, and Hannah, a barrel racer. After a family tragedy, Hannah swears off people in general, vowing to never let anyone get close to her in the hopes that she will never feel the pain of losing loved ones ever again.
Dean falls for Hannah at first sight, and unbeknownst to Hannah, makes it his mission to win her heart.
The love story between Hannah and Dean was sweet and funny at times.
Hannah’s journey to being able to trust and love again was beautiful to experience with her. Watching her become happier, making friends, and smiling more freely was so heartwarming.
This book does have some themes and events that may be triggering for some readers, including SA, r@p3, intentional unaliv-ing, and some stalking (sharing her location to himself without her knowledge) however I felt these scenes were well written, not super in your face descriptive, and if necessary you could skip them and still understand everything in the book.
Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The relationships were all very well written, believable and had convincing development arcs. I’d definitely re-read this one!
If you’re a fan of dark romance and cowboys, this is definitely for you! Though as always, make sure you’re checking your triggers fam 🫶🏻 happy and safe reading all xx

I have a soft spot for a cowboy romance. Something about these men 😍
This book was addicting. A true page turner from the moment you start the book!
Hannah is a force to be reckoned with. She’s got thick walls and now room for attachments. Hannah is friendly enough to make conversation with folks in the rodeo, but always on the rode for the next gig. Her only priority is rounding those 3 barrels in record time.
Dean is known as the cowboy not to mess with. His dark and mean persona keeps people at a distance. He’s not looking for friends and sure as hell not looking to settle down. The only thing on his mind is clearing it for 8 seconds in the back of a Bronc.
Their paths finally collide in this world of their and they can’t deny this gravitational pull!! They literally can’t leave each other alone!!
You have got to pick this book up and find out if they break their 3 rules, one of them being this fling is top secret!

It’s no secret I love a cowboy/cowgirl romance so when I saw Hung up I had to read it. Leigh is new to me but I was blown away with her writing and got so caught up in Dean and Hannah story. This was blended with their romance, some heavier moments and healing. Dean (31) was a mix of moody and withdrawn but all male until Hannah enters is life and she softens all the jagged edges. He would have me throwing out all my rules for his 😏. I loved Hannah’s (21) personality. A mix of wild but also guarded from the pain she carries.
If you are a fan of age gap (10 yrs) a rough cowboy who knows what cowgirl he wants and doesn’t give up until he gets her, in what ever way that is, and makes you forget the rules this book is it.

I love a morally gray cowboy! Dean is grumpy & stalks in a sweet way 😆 touch her & ☠️. Even better, he falls first. Hannah is a barrel racer & has built a solid brick wall around her heart after a terrible tragedy. That way she never feels pain or loss again. Dean is a playboy bronc rider who seems to only warm up to her & of course his beautiful horse Ghost. It wasn’t until two years after the accident for their story to start. He was there the day everything changed for Hannah. He fell so hard that he would spill blood for her love. Both are running away from ghosts of their past. Will, their beautifully unhinged love bring them to the present or be shells walking the earth?

“I think my soul just recognizes yours, Darlin” 🥵🥵 SIR! THIS MAN!! We LOVE a grumpy man that has a soft spot for his girl! This book took two of my favorite sub genres, dark romance and cowboy romance, and melded them together PERFECTLY! If you love cowboy romance and want to step into dark romance, this book is the way to do it.
It’s definitely spicy, but in a real way. Nothing about this book feels over exaggerated for drama. The spice, the depth, the character development, the emotion, all of it is so real and so well written! The age gap is perfect, and doesn’t toe the line of inappropriate while still showcasing the differences in experience. I cannot say enough good things about this book!

Looking for a walking red flag dressed as a cowboy?! Dean is your man. After two years of yearning for Hannah, he steals her phone, goes through her wallet and said phone, stalks her through her phone's location and an air tag placed in her car. Dean is a mighty fine looking bronc rider, but what I found especially awesome about this book is that Hannah also participates in the rodeo, as a barrel racer. We love a strong FMC! Even though I would have liked to read more about the rodeo events and found that there was too much smut at times (I know how can you say that?! I just missed some emotional depth to the relationship but the smut is really really good😇) I enjoyed this book very much! It had a heartbreaking beginning and a heartwarming ending 🥰

She’s a barrel racer trying to outrun her traumatic past. He’s a playboy bull rider on the verge of retirement that cannot stop thinking about her. A dark cowboy, age-gap romance where instant, electric chemistry ignited an obsession of protectiveness and nurturing within Dean for Hannah. Wow, these characters! I appreciated the engaging plot, I admired the descriptive settings, and adored the authentic dialogue (I’m pretty sure each time Dean said “Darlin” my cheeks grew hot and my toes curled). I could picture it all in my head so vividly, feeling all the emotions…hurting with them, and celebrating with them too. I love a good cowboy romance! When I read the description for this book I knew I needed to read it. Not only is Dean a cowboy, he’s a morally gray cowboy?! Does it get much better? Haha
I also love when a book has a playlist and the rodeo event rules at the beginning of the book were helpful and a nice touch added to the book.
Hung up was emotional, spicy, and heartwarming and I ate up every minute of it which was wasn’t a long time because I flew through this book in less than 48 hours!

The way I cried in the beginning of this book, I knew it was going to be good then.
Hannah was the epitome of when life hands you lemons, you take a shot of vodka with it. She was living her life for herself after a tragedy and I didn't blame her for it. But once she got a look at daddy Dean, she was done for.
Dean thought he was doing what was best for his family, but turns out he was not only hurting himself, but his family too. He only realized that when Hannah came into his life, and he was hung up from the moment she was in his arms.

The title is fitting, I haven't been this hung up on a book in some time! This story is addictive and the ultimate escape. I couldn't get enough of Daddy Dean and was obsessed with Hannah's personality. Leigh does a great job of weaving in some heavy topics - be sure to check the triggers before diving in - in a way that felt relevant and important. There's something about Leigh's writing style that just enthralls me. Loved every minute of this!

Hung Up by Leigh Morgan was such a good read! I absolutely loved the grump + sunshine dynamic — it gave the story so much charm. The emotional rollercoaster was real, but Hannah and Dean delivered every bit of it perfectly. Their chemistry and the storyline kept me hooked from start to finish.

Honestly loved this book so much! Minus the third act breakup and Hannah telling everyone but Dean about the pregnancy.

It was fun to step in and experience the rodeo world. I really enjoyed the author’s writing too. Dean is everything I want my dark cowboy book boyfriend to be. There were a few things in this book that irked me but overall it’s been one of my favorite cowboy romance reads this year. I love finding new authors to follow and I look forward to reading more by her.

Love loved it!! This book got me out of a three month reading slump. I will be adding this to my favorites and will definitely be coming back for a reread. This book made me laugh, cry, and kick my feet screaming. Leigh Morgan has certainly outdone herself with this one!

Favorite read of the year

Hannah and Dean's chemistry is off the charts and their love story might just be my favorite yet. The spice was oh so good and Daddy Dean is now my top book boyfriend 🥵.

That OW scene in the beginning gave me the ick and ruined the rest of the book for me. There was no coming back from that. The book had so much potential but in an attempt to make the MC “dark” it made him gross. 🤢
