What's the point when all it takes is one look from Aodhan or Mercy to crack through his resolve? After years of running, Cal might finally be ready to accept himself. Monster and all.
Aodhan Solace is a devil with desires.
Lately, those desires have been a lot more...domestic than his usual. Things have always been great with Mercy, but now that Calix has chosen to let them in, Aodhan is finding life can be content enough that maybe murder isn't as strong of an urge as it once was.
Titus Mercer finally has everything he's ever yearned for.
Playing happy family is all well and good, but there's still a killer on the loose. They're all a bit too busy learning the ins and outs of this new relationship to pay it much mind, but even if the three of them are distracted, they haven't been forgotten.
Librarians, please don't add books. I stay up to date and add them myself and have ended up with many multiple copies because others add them later. Thank you!

Really liked this conclusion to Mercy, Calix and Aodhan's story.
It was definitely confusing at times because there's a lot of plotting and scheming going on that the reader isn't in on until after it's revealed to have happened, which did impact my rating. I still can't piece together everything that happened and have it make sense for the way I think...
I did like the dynamics between Calix, Mercy and Aodhan though, and the way their relationship was by the end of this book made the journey to their HEA feel worth the confusion. I also liked the cameo from Zane Solace too.
Although these guys did get their HEA, I would not be surprised at all to see them pop up in future books because there was also a feel that there could be more to come with them in some way or other, which I wouldn't be mad at.
Now I'm impatiently waiting for Sinner to be released!
Ahhhh, so good! 💕 I have absolutely loved this trilogy of novellas and although this was the final instalment and I’m sad to be leaving Mercy, Aodhan and Calix, I have had so much fun reading it - it’s been heart-wrenching, mysterious and ohhhh so hot 🥵
Cal has finally allowed Mercy and Aodhan to bond with him, meaning he is officially the Third in Mercy’s Connect pod. I really enjoyed seeing the three of them developing their relationship and how they’re figuring out the pecking order (and dang I love my sassy, persnickety Aodhan so much - what a drama queen 😹).
But there is still a mystery to unravel as well as danger coming Cal’s way… I was on the edge of my seat for the second half of this book as so much drama unfolded and I just wanted keep my boys safe!!
Of course, we get an amazing HEA and I love that the three of them manage to overcome all the things trying to drag them apart!
Read ‘The Devil’s Bargain’ for: ✨ Final novella in a trilogy ✨ MMM captive romance ✨ Dom/sub dynamics ✨ Bonding, mating bites ✨ Energy sharing within the bond ✨ Murder mystery resolution ✨ Touch him and 💀 x3
Thanks to Chani for sending me an early copy to proofread! 💕 It’s available on 30th August ✨
I hate to say it, but this felt more like an idea of a book. I had such high hopes for the conclusion to Calix’s story, but this book was too short to be satisfying. I loved how, in the beginning, he was able to get some power back by manipulating Mercy and Aodhan (because truthfully, I couldn’t stand the uneven power dynamics between the three of them). I think his intelligence made the dynamic in the relationship more interesting, and I was hoping his manipulative tendencies would be explored more throughout the book. Spoiler: it never makes an appearance again😭
Unfortunately, the story concluded with no real plot development, and it felt like Chani was just looking for a way to tie up this trilogy as quickly as possible. This book is only 167 pages, so it could’ve easily been added on to the second book. Anyway, let’s get into the main villain (is there one main bad guy?) of the series: Mitri.
So Mitri is kind of like Aodhan in that he kills people without remorse and is psychologically twisted, but he wasn’t really super hateable. He wasn’t much of anything if I’m honest. His reasoning behind killing Bruce was because Bruce was suspicious of Amory, and apparently Amory is Mitri’s reason for living??? Okay??? That didn’t feel very real when I ready it. I just kept thinking “what? Since when were they super super close?” I wish there would’ve been more suspense, drama, and actual lead up to Calix discovering Mitri since he is supposed to be very intelligent… he had literally no idea it was Mitri, he said it himself! For a guy who was written to be super smart and have strong instincts, Calix kind of sucks at being a detective. There weren’t many details about his investigation or who he was considering as suspects, which there might have been if Mercy didn’t keep pulling him away from work for semipublic sexcapades! The throuple sex was not as hot as it could’ve been, which I guess follows the trend as everything else I listed.
Overall, I’m disappointed in how this story ended. Still love Chani’s work though! I’m looking forward to the final book in the Foxgrove series!!

Author uses cover artist who clearly states all over their shop/website that they use AI. When I commented on author’s IG to ask them if they knew, the comment was hidden and I was ignored. So it appears they are aware and just don’t care? Which is such a bummer because I was enjoying their books up until they started using AI for covers.
This was *exactly* what was needed to wrap up the story for these three. I loved seeing how they settled into "normal" life and the Zane cameo. This trio is as toxic as they come, but I loved every minute of the whole trilogy. As ever, make sure to read the trigger warnings (unless you don't want spoilers).
This was a fitting ending to an amazing trilogy. It was a bit weak in terms of emotional fulfilment and bonding but I’m just happy we got a book with the MCs actually enjoying their HEA. This book is definitely the fluffiest of the trilogy (which isn’t saying much honestly) but still is very dark and matches the tone of the other two novels. Any potential loose ends or questions I had were answered
So good! A great end to the trilogy! I’ve been loving reading about these three. I’ve enjoyed seeing the three of them develop their relationships and figure things out. This series was on the darker side. As they say themselves they’re all monsters but they’re perfect for each other. I’m glad they got their HEA! Seeing Zane again was a nice treat!
Leaving a review on this last book in this series. This series was filled with alot of action, sex, and gore. It had such a good plot. The characters had dark sides but were still easy to like. The ending of this book was surprising. Worth the read and reread.
A very fitting ending, it wrapped up all the ends to the trios story. Please note that even though they get their happy ending this books content are somewhat still dark. Loved it as a book and a whole series.
This trilogy was an interesting read but I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Sure the story was exciting but it definitely felt like there were gaps within the story that needed to be filled. The relationship of the throuple as well just felt…lacking in a sense? Chani usually does an amazing job of keeping things feeling passionate and genuine between her mmc’s, but in this case, things just didn’t fall in to place the way I expected them to.
I’m not sure if it was because she usually doesn’t write MMM romances, but the relationship between Titus, Aodhan, and Calix definitely needed some development and work. Generally speaking, they lacked development and by the time I finished the trilogy I felt slightly disappointed with the ending. Or more specifically, how there was little development in the emotional area between the throuple. Add in the unnecessary drama, and it was just lack luster.
Which in hind sight, I’ve noticed some authors tend to struggle with writing throuple romances due to the fact that they end up neglecting the development between two people within the throuple. In this case it felt like it was a mix of Titus and Calix and Aodhan with Calix as well. Which actually shocked me due to the fact that I’ve genuinely liked all of the books that I’ve read by Chani thus far. Even when there were certain things that I didn’t like within a story, I still finished it feeling satisfying. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case with this trilogy. All in all I think the main problem was, there was a lot of things being TOLD to you, instead of it being shown and thought out.
The Devil's trio was probably one of the only times I really enjoyed Chani's world building. At the start of every book she reminds us these characters are alien but then writes them all like humans. Whereas this trio is different, Mercy isn't human and I think his internal monologue does a good job of portraying how he thinks and needs things differently- like forming a pod. I also think the Devil (and demon) books excel at being trilogies, you get a lot of time to explore the characters, so their quick toxic romances feel more earned and less Stockholm.
This story is dark and intense. It's awesome and kinda gruesome. I couldn't put it down. I love Calix. He's so smart. Aodhan and Mercy have sexy brains too. They're so nasty. 😂 They're also perfect together. I love them. Their pod is the coolest thing, but especially Mercy's powers are fascinating. I'm sad this story ended. I wish there were more! Also, I just want to note that I would read MF for Nero's story. 😆
One day I'll read all three in one go or wait until an omnibus comes out. The first two I read immediately once they were delivered to kindle. This one... its been a while. Felt like it was all about showing off the healing powers of a connect rather than anything else. There was the who killed Bruce thing and why is Nero clinging to Cal for friendship thing, but mostly sex, punishment and pod healing.

The conclusion to this trilogy was a bit weak, but I'm glad they got their HEA.
The emotional aspect of their relationship was slightly lackluster, and the ending felt abrupt, but I still loved their dynamic. It's based on control, obsession, and possession, but they still felt deeply for each other. It's still toxic as hell, but they're all fine with it, so who cares? Definitely not me.
The murder mysteries would’ve benefited with longer novels especially this one and the first one. I guessed the culprit but only because they were the only one left not because I understood their motive well. Romance was still sweet, and learning more about Connects was nice.
A very good ending of this serie, loved it! It feels like a short story (I always want longer stories because it's so good!). Love how smart Calix, Mercy and Aodhan are and the twisted ways they have to show their love and care. Very Dark but so good!!
The 3rd book is definitely my favorite. A book by Chani is going to do it for me every time. I will continue to read anything she publishes. This trio of men was Chef’s kiss. I loved Calix coming to terms with being a third. Titus definitely has his hands full of his second and third.
A fitting end to the trilogy! This book wrapped everything up. My only complaint would be the fact that we didn't really get Aodhan and Mercy's story, only bits and pieces...
Well... the character development is so shallow and unrealistic that I can't even laugh anymore. And don't ask me about the story. Ikea assembly instructions make more sense.
