The Gallagher Brothers series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan concludes with the final brother who thought he had everything to look forward to, and the one woman who can handle him.

Life isn’t worth living if you don’t fight to live. That’s what Murphy Gallagher learned at a young age when cancer ravaged his body not once, but twice. Over the course of his survival, he lost his parents and his childhood, but he’s been healthy for years and has become a man he hopes his family is proud of. But when his world tilts on its axis yet again, he’ll have to learn what it means to fight not only the unknown but also his attraction to his best friend.

Tessa Stone works hard and plays harder. She’s spent her life trying to figure out who she is in the present rather than looking back. Yet when she’s forced into close proximity with Murphy, she’ll have to not only be his rock but learn how to relax enough to maybe let him be hers, as well. But seduction doesn’t stop when the world seems to, and close encounters of the naked kind might just be the first step in something much more complicated than either of them bargained for. Life, though, is for living, after all.

Hope Restored is the last book in the Gallagher series and follows Murphy Gallagher as he goes through another hard time in his life. Growing up he battled cancer not once, but twice, and now as an adult when he finally thinks he's clear of the disease he gets sick again. This time though he has the help of his friend Tessa.

Tessa and Murphy started out a friendship yet the chemistry between them was always evident. Even though they tried to fight their attraction to one another and remain nothing more than friends they were drawn to more. I liked when they finally gave up and stopped fighting it and fell into a relationship. It was a very simple transition from friends to lovers and I loved the minimum drama that surrounded it.

Overall, this is an amazing friends to lovers story that I would recommend for anyone that likes the trope. There's a little suspense thrown in that adds a lot of intrigue to the story also that I thought fit really well with the book.

ARC REVIEW

Hope Restored is the final book in the Gallagher Brothers series, a spinoff of the massive Montgomery Ink series universe. This isn't the first time Carrie Ann Ryan has written about a cancer survivor, it's a very emotional topic and this book a real tear jerker. The friends to lovers romance that happens between Tessa and Murphy was exceptional.

Murphy has already beat cancer twice, once as a child and again later as a teenager. Murphy was enjoying his life and enjoying his carefree flirting with his brother's neighbor, Tessa. But one family gathering and his life feels like it spinning out of control again, he has cancer again. To make matter worse the people he's renting his place from are coming back and he needs to move out. Murphy needing someone to talk to ends up at Tessa's house and turns out it's a good thing Tessa has an extra room and he needs someone to watch out for him when he's going through his treatments and Tessa is the perfect choice. She's a friend, she's next door to his brother so he's close enough to family but not close enough that they can be overbearing.

Tessa never thought she deserved anything she got, she was abandoned as a child and her foster parents who later adopted her loved her beyond anything. Tessa growing up put them through hell trying to push them away, but they never let her. Grown up Tessa has distanced herself from them feeling guilty but talking with and falling in love with Murphy through his ordeal and experiencing the love and comradery of the Gallagher family she realizes what she's doing and start to make it up to her parents. Murphy and Tessa had a carefree flirtation going on but as soon as they are in close proximity to each other for a couple of days the sexual attraction becomes more than they can stand and give into it. But Murphy's cancer isn't the only thing that's getting in the way of their happily ever after, someone from Tessa's past has shown up and threatening their HEA.

Overall, this was an emotional but happy ending to this series and I can't wait for more from the Montgomery Ink Universe.

Nayeli - per RFS
.

“Tu mi piaci, Tessa, mi sei sempre piaciuta.

“Murphy…”

5 emotionally exhausting stars for HOPE RESTORED!

After surviving 2 bouts of cancer as a child and teenager, Murphy Gallagher now lives every day as if it were his last. When he's diagnosed for a third time as an adult, Murphy knows he's in for the fight of his life. Family friend Tessa Stone has been a balm to his nerves, giving him a strong dose of humor…along with a litany of wet dreams. When he finds himself soon to be homeless, Tessa signs up for a roommate, but it'll be hell trying to keep his hands off the leggy brunette who he can't stop picturing naked. Tessa has felt adrift for much of her life, never taking things too seriously and always the life of the party. Murphy grounds her in ways she never expected and didn't know she needed. Tessa should be running scared from the thought of a future with Murphy, but she can't stop wondering what would happen if she just let her walls crumble.

I.Love.This.Series.So.Hard. Book 3 in the Gallagher Brothers is both an emotional roundhouse kick and a sexy sucker punch that left me crying one minute and panting the next. I'm never ever a fan of cheating in my reads, and it was a little touch and go with the attraction between Murphy and Tessa when she was seeing someone, but that was resolved quickly enough. Between the tearjerker scenes, Ms. Ryan gave us the perfect dose of humor. Witness:
Tessa pulled her gaze from his deliciously thick penis and looked right into his eyes as she wrapped in the towel around her.

"What the hell? Why are you in my bathroom? Why are you naked and wet in my bathroom? Boundaries, Murphy! Boundaries!" She was rambling, and she didn't care. She'd just run five freaking miles to get him and his pretty dick out of her mind, and now she had a real image of said dick in her brain, and she'd never be able to think straight again.

Mmmhmm! Yes, please! My only beef came with the ending, which felt totally rushed and left some seriously unanswered questions for the last book in a series. I can only hope that, perhaps, there's a spin-off in the works that'll give me the conclusion I desperately need.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; mild violence, attempted murder.

This is the last book in the Gallagher Brothers series. All four brothers have not had the best history. Least of all baby brother Murphy. He has struggled with cancer twice in his young life. Because of that, he is convinced he should not commit to anyone, in case his life is cut short in the future.

But he has good friends and supportive family. He and Tessa dance around each other and flirt. Each one knows the boundries. It's all in fun. Yeah..they both are also so attracted to each other it becomes painful. As life throws yet another curve ball at Murphy, Tessa does what any good friend would do---she offers to help him through this.

Close quarters and unrequited love lead to some unexpected outcomes. Tessa and Murphy remain friends over the course of their roommate status. It makes my day to see good friends finally get the HEA they deserve.

Carrie Ann takes us on an emotional roller coaster as the ups and downs of cancefr will invariably do. The message of the book is powerful--live each day to it's fullest instead of being afraid to go out and LIVE.

Perfect ending to the series. Hopefully these guys will pop up again as the ongoing Montgomery Ink series continues. Can't wait to see what happens int he future with this great bunch of brothers.

This story was a bit of a heart breaker, if you or anyone you know has ever dealt with Cancer you know that fear of it coming back is always at the back of your mind and for Murphy this is his third bout with it. We watch as he undergoes treatments and reconnects with old friends while taking his relationship with his best friend into uncharted territory.

This was a little more predictable -- I had a big "twist" figured out very early in the book and so found myself shaking my head when the characters didn't work it out before it became an issue. But I loved Tessa and Murphy anyway and this was a good way to wrap up the stories of these brothers.

**Disclaimer: I highly recommend reading this trilogy in order as we, of course, meet Murphy in the first book, Love Restored, and Tessa in book two, Passion Restored.**

Murphy has literally fought for his life...twice. He beat cancer, though he lost his childhood, as well as his parents, both he blames on his illness. Thankfully, his health is greatly improved, his brothers have found love, and his flirty banter filled friendship with Tessa is great.

Tessa has perfected the art of looking forward, not back. It's called self-preservation. She has a good job, her best friend and roommate, Liz, has fallen in love and is expecting, and Tessa has grown very close, with Murphy, Liz's fiance, Owen's brother. Plus, they're the only singles left and both prefer it that way.

As Tessa spends a lot of time at Owen's, being friends with Liz and their neighbor, Murphy sees her quite often, and though he knows their roles are established as friends, he can't help his body's instinctual reaction to her. They do flirt, both pretending it's innocent, but neither has crossed that line...yet.

"Like the fact that she was sort of dating a guy that wasn't him." - Murphy

However, focusing on something else quickly becomes urgent, and devastating, as Tessa notices injuries on Murphy that shouldn't be there. Unfortunately, Murphy instantly, regretfully, knows what it means, especially as he adds up other instances from the past few weeks...and the third time is not a charm.

As if Murphy isn't dealing with enough right now, the hits keep coming as his landlord is moving, therefore, Murphy needs to find a new place within two weeks.

Ironically enough, okay, it's weird, Tessa's whatever he is, offers up a solution when Murphy stops to see her for advice upon discovering Owen and Liz aren't home. Tessa will have to tighten her budget now that she's paying the mortgage by herself, and Murphy needs a new residence, which happens to be next door to one of his older brothers...man, Brent really is a nice guy, dang it.

As Murphy and Tessa adjust, quite easily, to being roommates, Murphy also begins his treatments. Tessa, on the other hand, has decided relationships aren't for her, even with a nice guy, as evidenced by Brent dumping her, something she's actually relieved about.

As the days go by, Murphy and Tessa start growing closer, and their connection changes more by the day. When both are brought face to face with their pasts, the reunions aren't all cause for happiness though, and have different impacts on their future. One of those being a reminder that life can, unfortunately, be short, and if you find someone, that makes you happy, you need to take that chance. Murphy takes that to heart, literally, and he and Tessa both realize they need to, want to, explore what's between them as they know it already is something special.

"Just you and me, baby. That's all we need." - Murphy

Murphy and Tessa realize they're falling for one another, and embrace it, however, not everyone is happy for them, as evidenced by the little incidents that begin occurring, culminating in a situation neither saw coming.

Will Murphy triumph once again? Will the family be supportive of Murphy and Tessa's relationship? Will Murphy's illness be something they can overcome together? How will Tessa react when she witnesses the reality of the danger Murphy is facing? Will she and Murphy grow stronger because of it? Who is behind the things happening to the couple? Will Murphy, already fighting for his life, have to fight for Tessa's too? Is there a HEA for them?

One-click now and follow along as two friends finally succumb to their mutual attraction and discover an everlasting love. I'm so thankful we're given a glimpse into what the future holds for the Gallaghers and their spouses, including Jake who found his happiness in the Montgomery Ink series with Border and Maya.

On a purely personal note, I find it icky that Murphy's now sister-in-law, Blake, unsure if she was so when it was done, pierced a certain lower part of Murphy. Eww. Yes, I know it was completely professional, but I would not want another woman, especially one that was now related to my man, to have seen such a private area on the love of my life.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**

Carrie Ann Ryan has ended the Gallagher series with a bang. You will smile, laugh, cry and just melt when you read Murphy and Tessa’s story. Murphy has such strength and courage. And he draws strength from the most incredible sources like Max who is so upbeat and positive. Tessa who treats him as Murphy and that helps him heal and stay in the now.

Murphy is the brother who has gone through so much and has guilt. Guilt because of something beyond his control. The guy is so sweet and kind and yet he is naughty and hysterical. He is a great friend and wonderful brother. I love how he is able to grow and learn from those around him and is not afraid to ask for help and explore his feelings. he is introspective and reflects on all that is happening to himself and around him. I love how he is living in the present and learning to live. Learning to let love in and see that life is not to squander but take risks in love and people. When he does this he takes the risk of changing his relationship with Tessa. The girl he loves and now isn’t afraid to admit it.

Tessa is fearful of relationships. Her last didn’t end well. So now she plays it safe. She has an attraction to Murphy but doesn’t want to act on it in fear of what it could do to their friendship. A friendship that has some fun flirting and easygoing moments. when she gives in we get some smoking moments, tender intimate scenes and strength. Strength that Murphy draws on and she does to. She gets him as her best friend and lover. They are both needing one another. She needs him to help her let go and forge a different path with her parents and he needs her for support and unconditional love. She helps him fight for himself and them. She along with Max help him to live and see the beauty of the moments. The little things like talking to someone and listening. About having hope and faith. About just being. You will feel some sadness over some events and it will tear at your heart but will also feel hope and love shine through as well. They are inspirational in how they feel, dream and fight. Max and Abby especially are but Murphy and Tessa for being his reason are too.

Tessa and Murphy are wonderful together. They understand each other and help each other. they gain hope and faith once again through each other and what Murphy is going through. They rely on each other for strength support and honesty. their relationship has you laugh, cry and just feel warm inside.

The story is one of hope, love, family and faith. One that will keep you in the moment and have you feel what the characters are. It is intimate in so many ways and just has you smile throughout hoping that there is a HEA. An amazeballs ending to a wonderful series. and I do hope we someday get some more of these wonderful and inspirational characters in future books. A powerful and beautiful ending to this wonderful series.

I had been looking forward to reading Murphy's book, that Tessa was the woman he was paired with made it all the better. Those 2 have been flirting like crazy and I couldn't wait to see them become more. Their first encounter that made them both want more had me laughing, because really, only these 2 would have something like this happen to them. It was great fun watching as the relationship changed between Murphy and Tessa, to see how their family and friends reacted to them as a couple. While I hated the drama that happened at the end, I was glad that it pulled everyone together, especially Tessa and Murphy. The one down spot was Murphy's friend, Max. I knew what would happen to him, but hated to see it happen.

Murphy isn't one to follow the rules, “what the h***? Why are you in my bathroom? Why are you naked and wet in my bathroom? Boundaries, Murphy! Boundaries!” Murphy always likes to have Tessa's opiniom, “aw, baby, do you think my ***k is pretty?” Tessa has her man by the balls, I mean he's still an alpha male, but when his woman is md the man isnt afraid to ask how high to jump, “leaving right now.” She hung up on him, and he closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I got to go,” he said to the other man at the table." I loved this book, I fell so hard for Murphy.

I love this series so much! I could not wait until we got to Murphy because the youngest of the bunch is usually the most interesting and Murphy sure is interesting! I loved the banter between him Tessa in Passion Restored so I couldn't wait to see them together in his book. I love all of the brothers but I've always had a soft spot for Murphy. I hate that everything happened to Murphy, but I'm so glad Tessa and his family were there! They made the best of the horrible situation that they faced.

Love it so much and can't wait to see what she releases next!

I absolutely love Murphy and Tessa and I was not ready for this story, or this series to end. Every Gallagher, along with every Montgomery, made me want to stay in their world. Looking forward to the next series and how to see plenty of the Gallagher clan there.

What an awesome, emotional read this was to wrap up the series. I laughed, but I cried, big fat ugly tears...in more than one place. But it was so worth it. The Gallagher guys and their women will stay with me for a long time.

Murphy’s book. The final book in the Gallagher Brothers series. I had a feeling going in what a going to happen based on the other books. But let me tell you that did not prepare me for my prediction to come through in the first chapter. Murphy is the youngest Gallagher and also the one they all worry about. Why? Because he has beat cancer twice. Was I surprised that the cancer came back? No. Did it still rip my heart out? Yes. Tessa is Liz’s best friend and around the Gallaghers a lot because of that fact. When Murphy and Tessa are forced together by the changes in both their lives, it might make things worse. I love Carrie Ann Ryan’s books. This book made me smile and my heart speed up with in a few pages of each other. I am sure the Gallaghers will pop back up in some of the other Montgomery Ink world, and I can’t wait.

Wow! I think my speakers are still steaming!

I hadn't read any of this series yet, but Murphy & Tessa pulled me right in. This is a well-crafted story read by a talented male narrator. I haven't found many male narrators that can keep my interest, but this one did.

I can't wait to read more about the Gallaghers!

Hope Restored (Gallagher Brothers #3) was an amazing novel! I just loved Murphy and Tessa! They were such a cute couple! Their relationship reminded me so much of Jasper and Alice's from the Twilight Saga - all cute and fun! Of course, the other Gallagher Brothers and their loves were present, but it was Murph and Tessa who stole the show.

I thought Carrie Ann Ryan did a beautiful job with Hope Restored. I empathized with Murphy's situation and felt Tessa's fear. Cancer does indeed suck, but Carrie was able to imbue love and hope. it was the latter that seemed to run through the course of the entire book, and I loved that.

Carrie Ann, kudos to you! I adored Hope Restored and look forward to your next great read!

Two people letting their pasts define their futures is the driving force in this emotionally intense romance that puts readers through the wringer. With tissues nearby readers will find themselves captivated by this friends to lovers romance that takes them to the depths of despair to the highs of a hard-fought HEA. By the turn of the final page readers will feel drained but oh so satisfied by all that's come before for this unforgettable family whose lives quickly became our own.

Murphy's the youngest Gallagher brother and while his brothers have been finding their HEAs he's been happy to continue his bachelor ways. But when his life suddenly changes he quickly comes to realize that healing goes much better when you're not alone. Murphy's youth was full of doctor's visits and numerous hospital stays as he battled, and survived, cancer twice. It was a time full of fear and guilt as his parents devoted themselves to his healing. Their deaths after all the energy they lent him has always made him feel responsible, so when his cancer returns he'd prefer to deal with it on his own. With the closeness of the Gallagher clan though, there's many people rooting for his survival and giving him a shoulder to lean on. Murphy's always had a flirtatious friendship with his soon-to-be sister-in-law's best friend, Tessa. Though he sometimes wanted more he didn't want to ruin what they already had. Fear of losing her friendship held him back from crossing that line, but with his future far from guaranteed with the return of his cancer he no longer wants to live with what-ifs. When fate has them becoming roommates lines are quickly crossed as flirty words become erotic acts that burned up the pages. Loss of a friend and threats to Tessa have them growing closer together but leaves readers on edge as his cancer is never far from our thoughts. Murphy's a delicious hero, kind-hearted, gentlemanly, and charming. He's also sexy, utterly drool-worthy, and a master at dirty talk. He and Tessa spend a lot of time scorching up the sheets in numerous, almost too many, erotic encounters that sometimes felt like a way for them to hold reality at bay. He handled his third cancer diagnosis with strength and honesty in scenes that were realistic. Each step of his treatment was vividly depicted with all the clinical smells and fears palpable. It was a journey full of heartache and loss that had me wanting to hug him while rooting for him every step of the way.

Tessa's youth was traumatic as well as the death of her birth parents led to a caring adoptive family whose love she constantly needed to test. Her questionable choices and criminal acts brought out feelings of guilt and disappointment in her that never went away and put a wedge between her and her parents that left her vulnerable to bad men. After the abuse she dealt with in her last relationship she swore she wouldn't settle for anything but a quiet and well-mannered man this time around. Unfortunately though well-mannered and quiet is boring when compared to the flirty and sensual Murphy. When he ends up as her roommate all the naughty dreams she's been having about him she now longs to see come true. With his future in doubt she too doesn't want to be left with what-ifs and with erotic encounters balanced with heartfelt talks they find themselves growing closer together. Fears over Murphy's future soon war with escalating acts of intimidation to keep her and readers on edge. With niggling feelings of danger weighing on her readers too will be left guessing as to her future when death comes to her doorstep. Tessa's a likable and strong-willed heroine who carries guilt of her own over the past. Being around the very affectionate and supportive Gallagher clan pushes her to deal with those feelings...as does Murphy. Her feelings about him, those she's always kept buried, are now brought to the forefront as their friendship becomes more intense. She's immensely supportive too, not only to her friends both old and new, but to Murphy as he needs that now more than ever. Their connection is a healing balm to both of them that had me cheering them on through every high and low.

This was a powerful story of overcoming death by living life to the fullest. Murphy always lived in fear of his cancer coming back, holding himself back, until it's almost too late. In his battle against cancer he faces it with strength, brashness, and by grabbing on to life with both hands. Tessa too always held parts of herself back out of guilt over the past, but with Murphy by her side she gives herself over wholeheartedly to the possibilities. Theirs is a combustible connection built on a foundation of friendship. It's a solid connection that seamlessly transformed into more. Numerous erotically-charged encounters teeming with dirty talk were balanced with sweet and tender moments of cuddling that had me blushing one moment and full of warm fuzzies the next. The only part of this story that fell a bit flat for me concerned the danger to Tessa. The villain was obvious to me early on and their connection to someone close to her felt a bit too soap opera-ish. There was already so much fear, uncertainty, and intense emotions regarding Murphy's treatment that putting her in danger too felt unnecessary. Despite that one flaw this was an engaging story and the perfect ending to the Gallagher Brothers series. I loved seeing the family once again unite in solidarity for Murphy's healing. They're an affectionate bunch who are playful in their interactions with one another and there for each other no matter what. Murphy's cancer treatment was vividly depicted with moments of sadness balanced with unexpected humor, moments that brought a tear to my eye and moments that had me cheering. On a whole it's another winner from Ms. Ryan and while I'm sad to see this series end I look forward to where this author takes us next!

[SERVICE PRESSE]

Description ~

My Review ~

Hope Restored is the final book in the Gallagher Brothers series, a spin-off of the Montgomery Ink series. I recommend reading the books in order if at all possible. This is a very interconnected series and characters from both series are constantly on scene and discussing previous and upcoming events within the series.

I've been waiting for Murphy's book from the first time we met him, being the youngest sibling and having fought for his life twice made me want to know this character. This book puts Murphy back in the Gallagher's spotlight and gives him a new demon to defeat. Which he also gets a little unexpected help from a new friend and an old friend, both bring elements he'll need to get through this trying time. Tessa, happens to be his brother Owen's fiancee Liz's best friend. She's quickly become one of Murphy's closest friends and she becomes the person who helps him out and also stands by his side.

While I thoroughly enjoyed Murphy and Tessa's story, I think I wanted more for both of them. Plus I felt like there wasn't enough additional back story for Tessa, and not as much relationship building time as we've had with a lot of the Montgomery Ink books. I missed that for Murphy and Tessa because they both have such potential to their backstories, that I at least would have liked more on scene, non-sex oriented relationship time.

Now that being said, the story was still good, and hit all the major points for Murphy and Tessa, including a significant amount of Gallagher and Montgomery on scene time. I love seeing the interactions between both families, and then to have wrapped up all the Gallagher storylines as well. Which I'm super sad to say a momentary good-bye to the Gallagher's, but I do know that the author has said they'd make appearances in Montgomery Ink books in the future. So we'll be able to keep up with them and their lives through the others.

This one is definitely one fans of the Montgomery and Gallagher series needs to read. I also highly recommend both series to new fans because what's better then men with beards and ink.. oh yeah.. women with lots of ink.

Never Surrender!!!

Murphy Gallagher, the youngest of the Gallagher siblings learned at an early age that life wasn't easy. He went through Cancer twice and survived, he lost his parents and his childhood but through it all he had his brothers Jake ( INK ENDURING ), Graham ( LOVE RESTORED ) & Owen ( PASSION RESTORED ).

He'd been cancer free for years and hoped he'd become the man he family would be proud of. He was an architect in the family's construction and restoration company. Yet he found himself facing the unknown when he got sick again. Murphy knew how short life was and he was ready to fight for what he wanted, come what may.

Tessa Stone whom we met in Passion Restored was best-friend's with Murphy's sister-in-law, Liz. She worked as an administrator at the hospital. She was a hard working woman who played just as hard. Tessa lived in the present instead of looking back at the past. She became friends with Murphy Gallagher.

When he fell sick again, she feared she wouldn't know what to do if she ever lost him. Murphy's life was turned upside down in a spare of few days, he found himself moving in with the woman who'd been haunting his dreams for a while. Because of some unforeseen circumstances.

As they spend more time together, Murphy's feelings for Tessa changed from friendship to something more and vice versa. The change in their relationship scared her a little which was understandable but Murph made sure she knew she was loved and cherished.

Tessa's past came back to destroy her life in the form of an abused ex-boyfriend. What the man didn't expect was for her to have someone in her life who were ready to defend and protect her from him.

Loved the bond between Murphy and his niece Rowan. Not to mention the dynamic between the Gallagher brothers. There was nothing more important to them than their loved ones. To see them found LOVE after so many heartaches was alluring.

The unexpected twists and turns in the book was well done. Murph meeting up with an old friend and reestablishing a relationship with him felt like life came full circle.

HOPE RESTORED was breathtaking, heartwarming, funny and intriguing. It's the third and finale book in Carrie Ann Ryan's GALLAGHER BROTHERS series. Loved this series from the first book and to see it end the way it did was a delightful treat.

Carrie Ann Ryan never cease to amaze me with her talent. She brought us such incredible and flawed characters that stole my heart away. 5++++
