The story line is unique. I haven't read a book like this before. I like to read children's books, too. However, there are parts of the story that I thought were gruesome for kids. They are a bit distasteful for even me, an adult. If the intended readers are not children, then the language and sentence structure are too simple.

The author handled the progression of the plot smoothly. He tied up the elements well, no loose ends. The characters are interesting.
