KIERA Running the first-ever Trader’s Market is chaotic enough; I don’t need a horned, purple alien with fangs, claws, and zero chill crashing my party.
Bael’k says he’s here to help, but so far, all he’s done is scare away the one person I need to see. When I finally track down the elusive nomad and snag the map I’ve been hunting for, guess who volunteers to be my protector on a quest I never planned to take?
It’s my first time out of the settlement walls in years, and I’m woefully unprepared. But with my knight in shining loincloth by my side, I might just survive.
BAEL'K They say the mate bond is absolute, eternal, and chosen by fate. But I don’t believe in fate. I believe in my blades, my shuttle, and the war I was bred to fight. I never wanted a mate… until I met Kiera.
She’s fragile, stubborn, and maddeningly fascinating. When she sets out to recover lost tech in a dangerous Dead Zone, I volunteer, thinking it’ll earn me glory. But the moment she steps into danger, every protective instinct I’ve got flares to life.
I soon realize she’s not just a mission. Kiera’s mine. And I’ll burn the stars down before I let anything take her from me.
Lynnea Lee is a recovered serial monogamist who now lives in her forever home with the man of her dreams. Still hopelessly addicted to the feeling of falling in love she now feeds her habit with a routine prescription of romance novels and rampant imagination. When she is not dreaming up fantastical stories of love, lust and romance, her hobbies includes talking to her plants, putting on a full face of makeup to stay home on Saturday nights and hugging her dog longer than is appreciated.
Both Kiera and Bael'k are 100%, absolutely NOT looking for their special someone. Which we all know means THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN. Because you can't unequivocally announce you're not looking for romance without romance taking a running leap at your face. Figuratively speaking.
Anywho. Kiera isn't interested in dealing with the heartbreak of losing anyone else (not even romantically, just in general. She's dealt with too much loss already during this bugpocalypse and no thank you) and while the Xarc'n warriors are nice to look at, she's firmly off the market. As it turns out, Bael'k feels the same. He's a warrior bred to eradicate the bugs and he's planning on continuing to do that even after Earth gets liberated. He might not be against seeing what all the fuss is about with a human woman (physically speaking), but he doesn't think it's fair to engage in anything deeper when he's planning to head off-planet as soon as his mission is complete.
Fate (and their hearts) however has other plans for these two. Plans where they have to spend plenty of time together with a lot of tension simmering between them and THINGS HAPPEN. Such good things.
To back up, Kiera and Bael'k are doing the forced proximity thing because they're heading into a dead zone on a technological treasure hunt. The hunt might be a bust, but it also might help the survivors in their ongoing battle against the bugs. No lie, I liked the treasure hunt aspect and the creepy, abandoned mansion. Plus, you know, the forced proximity.
A treasure hunt, a rough journey, a little betrayal (sort of, I mean is it betrayal if it's programming?), a warrior who has to readjust his priorities, and a lady who realizes she might like adventure more than she thought she would. *thumbs up*
Fated to the Hunter swept me away from the very first chapter and didn’t let go until the final page. Kiera, who has already lost too much, doesn’t want to risk her heart again. She’s strong and determined, but the cracks in her walls show every time she pushes people away. Then there’s Bael’k—a towering, horned, purple Xarc’n warrior who swears he doesn’t want a mate, yet can’t stop growling, purring, and bristling whenever danger (or another man) comes near Kiera.
What starts as an unlikely partnership on a mission into the Dead Zone quickly turns into something deeper. The banter, the tension, and the raw chemistry between them made me grin one moment and hold my breath the next. But what really got me were the emotional stakes—Kiera terrified of losing yet another person she loves, Bael’k convinced he’s destined only for war, and both of them slowly realizing that fate has other plans.
The world-building shines too. Their fact-finding mission opens up the bigger picture of the Xarc’n struggles and the ongoing bug threat, showing that survival is never guaranteed and every victory is hard-won.
This isn’t just a romance—it’s a thrilling, heart-thumping adventure with moments of vulnerability that made the love story hit even harder. If you love protective alien heroes, resilient heroines, and a mix of danger and devotion, this book will give you everything you’re looking for and more.

Lynnea has definitely hit it out of the park with this series. Each book is all on its own amazing to read and I just can't get enough of this series. Kiera doesn't want to get attached to anyone else and keeps people at a distance as she found she has lost everyone that she has been close to or loved. She is attracted to Bael'k the minutes she meets him but she doesn't want to be a mate as she doesn't want to put herself in the position to lose him like everyone else. Bael'k doesn't want a mate he plans on when the time comes to move on from earth and continue to fight the bugs, but every time he comes near Kiera he can't stop purring and wants to keep every man away from his woman. I loved every moment of this story and the whole fact finding mission these two find themselves on and it opens up the world to show that they are still very much battling those bugs in the bigger city's where it is extremely dangerous to be. If you are looking for your spicy romance with possessive alpha warriors that take care of their women and always put them first this is definitely for you. I enjoyed every single moment and the action is non-stop and the romance spicy. This is a must read!!!
“In the last few days, she’d replaced every nondescript woman in my fantasies. Maybe they’d all been placeholders for her from the very start.”
Makes my day whenever another Xarc’n warrior story comes out!! This whole storyline captivates me so much and New Franklin in particular holds a special place in my heart. Therefore catching up with some of my favorite characters was a huge plus. Be ready for plenty of suspense, action and instant attraction 😍 along with plenty of steamy times and the usual but unique appendages 😉. Kiera, at the first Annual Trader’s Market is able to obtain a secret semiconductor map and the quest to find them begins when Bael’k agrees to take her into Los Angeles - a huge “Dead Zone” in the heart of scourge territory. I so appreciated the mystery and the clue angle which was inspired and fun to read. Plus Kiera realizes that even librarians have more courage than they realize. I also enjoyed two strong characters fighting the inevitable-they think they don’t want or need a mate(don’t worry-they will figure it out the “hard” way, poor things 💕😁).

I absolutely loved this book! Fated to the Hunter is the latest installment in Lynnea Lee’s Xarc’n Warrior series, and it delivered everything I wanted in a post-apocalyptic alien romance—danger, heart, and a protective hero who will melt you even while baring his fangs.
Bael’k is a massive purple Xarc’n warrior with horns, claws, and a fierce protective streak. Kiera is a human survivor just trying to make it day by day in this brutal new world. When she embarks on a quest into the treacherous “Dead Zone,” Bael’k goes with her, determined to keep her safe. The action, the chemistry, the push and pull of trust—it all comes together in a way that kept me glued to the page.
One thing I love about this series is that while each book stands on its own, the worldbuilding is so rich that I definitely recommend reading them all. But if you’re new, don’t worry—jumping in here won’t leave you lost.
If you’re looking for a thrilling, steamy, and heartwarming alien romance where danger lurks around every corner and love is the fiercest weapon of all, this book is for you.

Kiera, known as the Keeper of Knowledge lives in New Franklin. She helped organize the first annual Traders Market. It was open to all Xarc’n friendly groups. It has been 6 years since the scourge landed on Earth. She is happy here sharing the knowledge she finds with others and has no interest in any relationship. Everyone she has ever cared about is gone and she doesn’t want to risk the pain of losing anyone else.
Bael’k is at New Franklin for the hunting, not to look for a female. He smells Kiera and knows she is his mate. Not what he wants. He plans to keep fighting the scourge even once it’s eradicated from Earth, which will mean leaving the planet. So no mate for him!
When Kiera receives a map that supposedly shows where invaluable old tech files are hidden, no one will take on the dangerous mission. But Bael’k finds himself volunteering to take Kiera, much to both their surprise! This mission will be extremely dangerous, but will the biggest danger be to their hearts!.

Neither Kiera nor Bael'k are looking for a long term relationship. He intends to continue fighting the scourge across the galaxies, once the are eradicated from Earth, and she has shut herself off from relationships since the bug apocalypse. But then a famous map falls into her lap. A map that might lead to a treasure trove of knowledge of how things were made before. Before the bugs destroyed everything and left them with broken tech and no manufacturing. If it wasn't for the Xarc'n they would have all perished.
Unfortunately, the map's first clue leads to a Dead Zone. A place where no human with any sense should venture. Even the nomads refuse to attempt to enter the area. Then a large, purple warrior steps forward and volunteers to take Kiera on her quest. Say, what? She wasn't looking to go adventuring. She worked at a library and had a website. She didn't know how to fight, or fly a shuttle. But maybe an adventure with a giant purple alien was just what she needed.

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Kiera and Bael'K. I liked that neither was looking for a mate. Kiera didn't want to get hurt losing anyone else. She was happy to enjoy the Xarc'n eye candy, but that's as far as she planned to go. Bael'K also didn't want a mate. He was focused on killing the Scourge and then moving on to another planet in need of protection. A mate would only get in the way. But of course he got possessive and purry over Kiera.
This book was such a fun adventure. I loved the journey to try and find the tech, and of course seeing these two bond along the way. Loved the supporting characters, too.
Lynnea Lee's Xarc'n Hunters are my favorite alien species/stories ever! My heart lights up whenever I see a new one on the way. But I'll admit, my MM romance-loving heart fantasizes about a romance between a human man and a Xarc'n hunter. Especially with bi-awakening from both. Now that people come to the Trader's Market, it could happen.. please! *daydreams*
Another thrilling scifi romance in the Xarc'n Warriors series full of adventure and steam!
We reunite with beloved characters from the series while following a captivating quest with Kiera and Bael’k, a couple you can’t help but root for. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow from physical attraction to devoted mates.
Kiera and Bael'k weren't looking for mates, but the heat and connection they shared were impossible to ignore. Their chemistry sizzles from the start, and they work well together through the adversity and danger thrown at them, with Bael'k's unwavering support of her in her quest.
Kiera’s journey, from grieving those she lost in the bugpocalypse to embracing life and love again, and Bael's transition from mission-focused hunter to a male protecting and loving his mate, made for an exciting and heartfelt story.
Fated to the Hunter delivers a romance full of hope, connection, and love—even when you aren't looking for it.
This series continues to entertain I’m always delighted by the alien/human romance. Set on an apocalyptic Earth, the Xarc’n aliens are the heroes, with advanced technology and the drive to slay all the scourge. It’s their sole reason to exist – that is, until the hero du jour meets his fated mate. Neither Bael’k nor Kiera want a mate, but fate brings them together. Kiera has a treasure map that should lead them to some pre-apolacypse technology. Bael’k can’t deny his attraction and volunteers to protect her on the quest. The duo faces incredible difficulties. Just when it seems like it couldn’t get worse, Bael’k’s shuttle locks Kiera outside as the scourge closes in on her. It all works out in the end. Bael’k and Kiera find the technology, recognize their true bond, and work out a compromise so they can keep doing the things they love.

Another wonderful story I'd devoured in this addicting Series. How could you not fall for Bael'k our resolute Xarc'n warrior who slayed a deadly bug before your feet and purrs for you? (Swoon) Kiera can. (Boo) She doesn't want a mate but admires his body and technique at the market. (Yeah) But when he fouls up her plans to obtain a map to find a treasure trove of technology by growling her contacts away. Her emotions are divided and Bael'k fights the bond for he too doesn't want a mate. (Hmmm) Then she gets the map and Bael'k joins her traveling into the Dead Zone. (Now I'm truly hooked to see what happens) I'd loved both characters they were well defined, strong, and engaging. I'd loved their journey as they bicker, banter, purr, and click in this very enjoyable, engaging action-adventure alien romance story with bug killing action. - Post apocalypic romance - Protector vibe - Fated mates - Close proximity
I absolutely love this series! These Xarc'n males are so much fun to read! They are acclimating to live on Earth, but still don't grasp all of the nuances of humans. This makes for some amusing miscommunications.
Neither Bael'k or Kiera are looking for anything serious or permanent, but Bael'k may change his mind when he sees Kiera in the marketplace. So when he has a chance to spend more time with her by taking her on a mission to retrieve some tech from before the bugs arrived, he views this as his opportunity to prove himself to her.
The one thing I love most about this series is the sense of family that the settlements have with each other. This book has the characters traveling to one of the more actively inhabited bug locations, which makes the situation more tense and exciting.

Quirky and slow at first then wham. Loved seeing other characters in the book from previous stories. Liked the mansion scenes. Do wish that the author would add news of other areas cleared out of nests. And start of video news now that they are producing items again. Want to read about the warriors and tech wizards finding some grid experts alive. Partnering to get plant automation set up with few visits for maintenance. With wind, solar manufacturing started up by the teams on cleared islands. With new supply ships built just the transport supplies and animals that they bred to cleared towns. Want to see signs of humans systematically advancing to cleared towns out country, towns then cities. With small communities growing and manufacturing drugs. That leads me to idea believe Delaware produces many drugs. And Ireland could be connection for European survivors.
Kiera is the last one to volunteer for a dangerous adventure, but she gets more than she bargained for when she gets her hands on a treasure map. Both her and Bael'k are not looking for relationships, but as they spend more time together, they start to realize a relationship may not be as bad as they had previously thought, especially if it would be each other.
I loved getting to see some previous characters again along with how they are thriving in the bug filled world.
Story provided new challenges that were entertaining and forced the characters to expand what they thought they were capable of when failure was not an option.
Wonderful addition to the series. It continues to offer hope even as the world as we know it is covered in bugs.

Wow, this book was just as exciting as the rest of the series. Each book has a new story and each one is filled with an exciting storyline. This book was about Bael’k who is one of the Xarc’n warriors who have come to earth to fight the bug scourge who have infested the planet and he has come to New Franklin to visit the market they had formed. That’s where he meets Keira, a human information collector, both are determined to never have a relationship, but fate has more in store for them. What follows is a treasure hunt and a shuttle set to keep them apart to the detriment of Keira. It all works out for them and they go towards their own happily ever after. The story ends with Dottie hiding from her own Xarc’n warrior.

Kiera is trying to survive the bugpocalypse and adapt to her new world. She’s guarded herself against more pain and loss, throwing herself into her new job in this post-apocalyptic world. When she decides to go on a journey outside the safety of the settlement, Kiera gets a volunteer that she didn’t expect.
Bael’k is a Xarc’n warrior created to fight mutated bugs and destroy the scourge that has infested earth. His only destiny is to fulfill that call. There is no other purpose to his life until Kiera. He didn’t believe in mates until her and now she has one very protective admirer.
I love the Xarc’n series! The world building is fantastic, as always. I’ve never been disappointed with any of Lynnea Lee’s books! Great story and addition to the collection. Try it out!

There have been several references in the past to the dead zone but this is the first adventure into it. Kiera is considered the Keep of Knowledg and Bael'k volunteers to be her protector on an important treasure hunt. Neither want a commitment yet are drawn to each other. Add to that a new and very opinionated Xarc'n shuttle, let's just say things get extremely interesting.
This is a very good book; however, without the previous stories it would be much less enjoyable. Especially when it comes to the mascots from previous adventures with the Xarc'n warriors. I cannot wait to see what new vistas this book leads to…so many possiblilites. The series and book are not to be missed and belong on your TBR list!

This was another exciting addition to this lengthy series and I will say that if you're new to this author, you can dive in with this book. However, the world building is fab and deepens as the series rolls on, so you'd definitely benefit, and enjoy!, reading the rest of the series :D Kiera and Bael'K do not want mates, each for their own reasons, but when they head off on a dangerous mission together for old tech files, they find that 'not wanting' and 'can't help but have' are two very different things ;) I loved seeing these fated mates find the love they deserve. Adventure, danger, devotion, suspense and hot romance made this a thrilling reading ride that's so good and makes me hope the bugpocalyse will continue ;D
"He was too busy making love, not war, which was a human saying I found very useful."
Neither Bael'k nor Keira is looking for a relationship, but going on a quest together to find knowledge that could make a difference in this post-apocalyptic world? That should be manageable. He's a warrior, and she's the keeper of knowledge after all.
What Keira lacks in confidence and experience Bael'k compensates for with sheer determination, even if this isn't his mission.... after all, it is a worthy quest.
This done in one kindle unlimited book reminds us of the value of information and knowledge, or organization and being able to find what we need. That those who fight, and those who support, each has their place, and their value.
I don’t think I will ever get tired of this series as the author always provides an action packed alien romance that hooks me right in. Bael’k has come to New Franklin to visit the market where he meets Keira. Kiera is the Keeper of Knowledge and has come across basically a treasure map. Thus begins the adventure of two not looking for a relationship, finding a bond amidst chaos and danger. Plenty to keep the pages flipping and I enjoyed catching up with previous characters. And yeah, still hooked on that hot alien purr. Great read.

This is an exciting adventure with some heat and humour. The world building is excellent and the characters are appealing. Kiera, called the Keeper of Knowledge on her website, goes on a quest to find old tech, assisted and protected by Bael'k, a strong Xarc'n warrior. Although neither of them is interested in a mate at this time, there is major chemistry between them. I love that the hunter's shuttle is preventing them from being together. The book is action packed and easy to read. It's a great book in an enthralling series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It is always great to read new characters and their stories in this series. In this book we have Kiera, who is tasked with running the first Trader's Market. Her yummy alien is Bael'k. He is determined to protect her on her journey to find a map. This, however, means a trip to the main hub for the invasive blight on earth. As with previous characters, there is always an amazing banter between the couples and these two were no different. Just love each book as we get to enjoy the continuing world and the inhabitants who strive to survive. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
Kiera is a researcher in this post-apocalyptic world, where she is known as the Keeper of Knowledge. Bael'k is a Xarc'n Hunter, out to help rid the world of the terrifying scourge that is plaguing the world. When a search for hidden trove of technical information comes up, they join together on a dangerous quest. They learn to rely on each other and find a love that neither one knew they wanted.
This story is sweet and spicy, with appealing characters who pull together to build a new world in which to live. It's a great addition to this series that I've thoroughly enjoyed.

Effortless story-telling Amazing characters, world-building, and plotline. I felt like I was ‘watching’ the story play out like a movie in my mind. An interesting and original twist to up the action ante. I like how this post alien invasion / rescue -apocalypse happens on Earth in what could possibly be now, or the very near future, as well. While this book is part of an ongoing series it can easily be read as standalone. However I am now going to have to go back to read more of this series 😊 I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Lynnea Lee's Fated to the Hunter is book 13 of tge Xarc'n Warriors series featuring giant purple hunky who purr when they find their mate's. Kiera is the Keeper of Knowledge, meaning she finds tech info and posts it on the internet so all can use it. She finds out about a treasure map that may lead to a trove of much needed tech, but no one will brave the quest. Enter Xarc'n Bael'k who isn't interested in a mate but wants to experience sex. The two fly off on the adventure and fight off many scourge despite his foul tempered ship that tries to keep the couple apart. I love this series!
Fated to the Hunter is the lucky thirteenth book of the Xarc’n Warriors series and finds another Human/Xarc’n mate bond in the making. Loved this newest romance between Kiera and Bael’k even though she doesn’t make it easy for him there is no denying fate. Wonderful writing, great characters, action, adventure, intrigue, danger, emotion, and spice are all combined in a thrilling sci-fi romance story that keeps you engaged and flipping those pages as a resoundingly good read is delivered.

Xarc'n hunters are so sexy! But Kiera doesn't want a mate and neither does Bael'k. At least not until he meets Kiera. He volunteers to go on this quest with her all the while telling himself that it's for the glory of it, even though he can't seem to get her off his mind. And protecting her on this quest has become an obsession. Loved the storyline and the characters, as well as the world building. Not only is it a fast paced adventure, It's a a hot and stream romance. What an enjoyable read!.

loved it !! love this series !! back in New Franklin... love Kiera and Bael'k... this is their story... a fun fast paced action packed rom/com drama... Bael'k keep saying that he didn't want a mate and yet, he acted like she was already his mate... he called her "Fire of my Heart ". he also, acted like a knight of old.. very swoon worthy !!! the Quest !!! the Deadzone... and that shuttle of his !!! this is so good !! read it in a day !! received this on an ARC, this is my honest review .. so good !!!
Another fantastic addition to the series Kiera is in charge of the first Traders Market, she works in the library, is the keeper of Knowledge and collects information on tech. Bail'k is keeping the bugs away and smells Kiera and can't stop thinking about her. Neither want a relationship. Kiera is given a map that may lead to some highly classified information on some hard drives. She and Bael'k are tasked to find them. The adventure begins.

This latest adventure set on post-apocalyptic Earth featured two reluctant people - Kiera (the keeper of knowledge) and Bael’k, a Xarc’n warrior who escorts her on a dangerous mission. Neither character wants a connection that is permanent but between the deadly creatures and a rogue shuttle, they find that they are brave enough to grasp happiness and love for themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to Dottie’s story next.
