When Elizabeth Bennet organizes a Christmas charity fair to fund a school for the children of Meryton and Longbourn village, the jealous Caroline Bingley orchestrates a devastating campaign to sabotage the event and humiliate the Bennet family. Just when it seems all is lost, Mr Darcy arrives with an army of supporters to rescue both the fair…and Elizabeth's heart.

A King’s Night by Ali Scott
When Darcy reluctantly agrees to attend Mrs Bennet's chaotic Twelfth Night party, he's determined to prove to his wife’s family—especially the sharp-tongued Lydia—that he's not the ‘boring stick’ they all believe him to be. But between being crowned King for the evening, Mrs. Bennet's mysteriously potent punch, and a series of increasingly ridiculous party games, Darcy's determination to show his fun-loving side spirals hilariously out of control.

A Winter Romance by Lucy Marin
When Elizabeth Bennet unexpectedly encounters the proud Mr Darcy in the charming village of Lambton during the Christmas season, she discovers a man far different from the disagreeable gentleman she thought she knew. As winter magic weaves around them and past misunderstandings give way to deeper truths, Elizabeth and Darcy must decide if they're brave enough to embrace a love that could transform both their lives forever.

Comfort and Joy by Jan Ashton
When a harsh winter at Pemberley leaves Darcy dangerously ill with pneumonia just days before Christmas, Elizabeth must summon all her strength to care for her husband and shield their young sons from the frightening reality that their father may not recover. As snow falls and memories of their courtship flood back, Elizabeth faces the possibility of losing the man who transformed her world, while harboring a secret that could bring them joy—if only he lives to hear it.

Frost Fair by LM Romano
When a brutal winter traps Elizabeth Bennet in London and creates a spectacular Frost Fair on the frozen Thames, a chance rescue of Georgiana Darcy from a drunken rogue offers Elizabeth an unexpected second look at the proud gentleman she thought she despised. As the ice begins to thaw, so do the misunderstandings between Elizabeth and Mr Darcy, revealing that sometimes the coldest seasons can kindle the warmest hearts.

No More than the Truth by Amy D'Orazio
When Elizabeth Bennet attends Mr Darcy's Christmas ball, she's determined to confront the proud gentleman who destroyed her sister's happiness and ruined an honorable man's life. But as shocking revelations unfold throughout the evening, Elizabeth discovers that everything she believed about Darcy was wrong—and that the person she thought was her greatest enemy might just turn out to be the love of her life.

The Gift of Good Character by Gailie Ruth Caress
When Mr Darcy realizes his pride has blinded him to both his friend Bingley's happiness and his own growing love for Elizabeth Bennet, he makes the bold gesture of inviting the entire Bennet family to spend Christmas at his London home. Through festive traditions, theatrical performances of King Lear, and moments of unexpected intimacy, Darcy must prove he has truly changed—while Elizabeth discovers that the proud man she once rejected may be exactly the gentleman her heart desires.

Ring in the holidays with sparkling romances set in the world of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. Happy Christmas, Mr. Darcy was plush with the warmth, hope, and magic of the holidays in a variety of ways for Lizzy and Darcy to find their happy both before and after the happily ever after.

🎄🎩 I’m already familiar with all eight author’s work so I was tickled to find a well-stocked anthology of treats such as Christmas balls, Frost Fairs, amateur theatrics, Twelfth Night antics, holiday charity fair, village shopping, and family come home for Christmas.

❄️🪭 All the emotions, all the writing styles, settings and situations, low-angst and no-spice conflicts, and even a variety of characters and times all situated around the romance couple.

🎁To misquote Jane Bennet, “Happy Christmas, Mr. Darcy was all a good anthology ought to be.” I have not a doubt I will enjoy this again one fine, future Christmastide.

Rating: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟✨

I rec’d a print copy from Quills & Quartos to read in exchange for an honest review

A warm-hearted, seasonal collection.
Another seasonal anthology from some of the authors at Quills and Quartos Publishing. I always look forward to these festive collections, for they never disappoint. Each author brings a warm, distinctive touch and ensures every tale ends happily.

No More than the Truth – Amy D’Orazio
Amy D’Orazio’s wonderful sense of humour is the highlight in this tale. Things of note: Mr Darcy befriends Mr Gardiner and holds a Christmas ball; everything Elizabeth thinks she knows is stood on its head; and a different Jane, who doesn’t always let a man’s breeches go unnoticed. Who knew! Along with Lord Saye, this short story will leave you smirking.

A Charitable Affair – Julie Cooper
When Miss Bingley and Mrs Hurst do everything to thwart the Bennets’ turn at holding the annual charity fair, and it looks like they might succeed, Georgiana and Mr Darcy come to the rescue. Neatly covered comeuppances for those deserving of them too.

Frost Fair – L. M. Romano
In this one, Georgiana is rescued from a drunken miscreant at the Frost Fair by one of the young Gardiner children and Elizabeth, and they become friends, which soon brings her into Darcy’s company again.

A Winter Romance – Lucy Marin
While visiting Lambton, Elizabeth encounters Darcy and Georgiana with their cousin Rebecca Darcy while strolling by the shops. Past misunderstandings are realised and new friendships are formed. I especially enjoyed the cousins’ matchmaking efforts.

A Gift of Good Character – Gailie Ruth Caress
Mr Bingley takes a stand against his sister and returns to Hertfordshire to claim Jane’s hand, accompanied by Darcy. As wedding arrangements are discussed, Darcy invites the entire Bennet family to spend Christmas at Darcy House. This one was a favourite for me. So nice to see something new from this author too.

A King’s Night – Ali Scott
A married Darcy and Elizabeth return to Longbourn and must take part in Mrs Bennet’s Twelfth Night celebration—Darcy becoming king and Mrs Bennet queen. Mrs Wickham’s mischief results in an inebriated Darcy, and Elizabeth learns he has a fine singing voice. Darcy shows he would do anything for her.

Comfort and Joy – Jan Ashton
Six years married with two sons, and nursing Darcy back to health as he suffers from a bout of pneumonia, Elizabeth reminisces on past memories of their life together. This story touched my heart and brought tears.

What Child Is This – Frances Reynolds
A look into the future of our dear couple, now married with young children, when a young George Wickham is abandoned to them by his uncaring parents. This touching story made me cry too.

Happy Christmas Mr Darcy is a warm-hearted collection I am happy to recommend.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. I also purchased the published version for my Kindle library.

A Christmas literary treat
A rich and varied collection of Christmas stories featuring Darcy and Elizabeth. The writing is of a uniformly excellent standard and each one was a joy to read. They reflect all the. best qualities a short story, namely a contained plot and a contained cast-list. This is essential to enable toe story to flow without being superficial.

Each story is delightful in its own way making the closing of a favourite almost impossible. The last three stories are all set after the Darcys have married and are perhaps my favourites.

This is a seasonal collection of pride and prejudice variation short stories, from some of the best JAFF authors around.

All feature Elizabeth and Darcy at various points in their story, with three being after marriage.
Some are light and fluffy, others have a touch of angst. A happy ending is, of course, guaranteed!

So settle down in a cosy corner, a mug of hot chocolate in hand and indulge.

This book is a collection of Christmas themed variations by the authors Amy D’Orazio, Julie Cooper, LM Romano, Lucy Marin, Gailie Ruth Caress, Ali Scott, Jan Ashton and Frances Reynolds.

NO MORE THAN THE TRUTH by Amy D’Orazio
After the Netherfield ball Elizabeth and Jane are to stay with their uncle and aunt in town. Shortly before Christmas they are invited to a Christmas Ball - in the house of none other than the proud Mr Darcy. When he then asks Elizabeth for the first set and spends time with her Elizabeth is bewildered. May she have judged the gentleman from Derbyshire wrong? Are some of her other beliefs also incorrect? And what does this attention Mr Darcy gives her mean?

As this is a story by Amy D’Orazio you can be sure that Lord Saye is not far away and always willing to help Darcy along in his usual unique way. This is also the case here. Lord Saye also helps Elizabeth in seeing things more clearly. But in the end, it is an honest conversation between Darcy and Elizabeth that reveals what is right and what was only assumed and therefore incorrect. I really like that Darcy was not able to withstand Elizabeth’s charms and Elizabeth was willing to change her impression of Darcy. Therefore, after the evening, they are on mutual grounds and ready to develop a relationship.

A CHARITABLE AFFAIR by Julie Cooper
Just before Christmas Elizabeth organizes a charity to raise funds for the building of a local school. Miss Bingley, ever fit to put a potential rival into their place, orchestrates her own Christmas gathering to keep the visitors from Elizabeth’s gathering. But suddenly Mr Darcy and a large party from town arrive. Will Darcy be able to rescue Elizabeth’s charity event? And what about his feelings for the lady? And can it be that Elizabeth’s first impression of him was totally incorrect?

I really like that Darcy rescues Elizabeth by attending her charity with his relations and friends. And I like to see him so at ease with his relations that Elizabeth is finally able to see the “real” man behind his haughty demeanor. She can finally see that she judged him wrong and can allow herself to fall in love with him.

FROST FAIR by LM Romano
An unexpected harsh winter confides Elizabeth to town for the unforeseeable future. When the river Thames freezes everyone is gathered there. Unexpectedly Elizabeth encounters Georgina Darcy there and rescues her from a dangerous situation. She is now thrown in Darcy's company again, but the gentleman seems greatly altered. With the melting of the ice will the frosty feelings between Darcy and Elizabeth also melt?

I really like Georgiana in this variation. She and Elizabeth become fast friends. And she discovers Darcy's strange behaviour in Elizabeth's company and takes her brother to task for it. Go Georgiana, go, you're my heroin!

A WINTER ROMANCE by Lucy Marin
Elizabeth visits Lambton with her aunt Gardiner to care for an elderly relation. Unexpectedly she encounters Darcy and his relatives in the village. The gentleman seems much changed since their last encounter. Will Elizabeth discover which version of Darcy is the true gentleman? And will Darcy finally surrender to her charms?

I love Darcy's relatives in this story. They are all so very supportive of Darcy and Elizabeth's potential union. In this variation there are no misunderstandings, only support for ODC to finally form their everlasting bond.

THE GIFT OF GOOD CHARACTER by Gaiie Ruth Caress
Unexpectedly Darcy realizes that his pride has blinded him to see the potential happiness of his friend Bingley as well as his own. He therefore accompanies Bingley back to Netherfield and, when rooms in town are needed for the necessary shopping before Jane and Bingley's wedding, offers his house to host the Bennet family. A merry houseparty around Christmas is the result. During play acting and intimate family dinners Darcy is ever more captivated and Elizabeth sees some unexpected sides of Darcy.

I love the merry Bennet household in this variation very much. They bring such joy, happiness and liveliness to Darcy's somber household. And even Darcy himself enjoys this change. I really like that he himself discovers that he became a difficult person and changes his behaviour.

A KING’S NIGHT by Ali Scott
Darcy and Elizabeth are to attend their first Twelve Night party at the Bennet household. Darcy is determined to prove to everyone, especially to the annoying Mrs Wickham, that he is not the dull fellow they all think him to be. But when he is chosen to be the king of the night alongside Mrs Bennet things start to go out of control. Between party games and Mrs Bennet's punch things seem to slip out of his control.

Can you imagine Darcy being a party animal? I could not but he certainly has it in him. I like that he participates in every game and does follow every whim of Mrs Bennet. And I must confess that I quite liked his Queen Mrs Bennet, she was rather charming.

COMFORT AND JOY by Jan Ashton
Shortly before Christmas Darcy falls gravely ill. Elizabeth must bundle all her strength to care for him and, at the same time, comfort her little boys. Meanwhile she harbours a secret that would bring Darcy enormous joy - if he only would recover.

If you like to see Elizabeth caring for an ill Darcy - this story is definitely for you. I liked Elizabeth's strength and determination to see Darcy through his ordeal while comforting her little boys. They were so charming. I found it really touching that they both send their favourite toy to Darcy so that he may recover more quickly 💜.

WHAT CHILD IS THIS by Frances Reynolds
With his parents Lydia and George Wickham bound for America, seven year old George Wickham is deposited on Pemberley's doorstep in the care of Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam Darcy. The couple decides to raise their nephew alongside their own children. Will he adapt to the charges? Or will the presence of a Wickham in the household cause obstacles?

I really like the development of the relationship between the Darcy's and their nephew George. Especially Darcy needs to adjust his beliefs. But he does this admirably and becomes a real father figure for young George.

If you like to have eight different Christmas stories about Darcy and Elizabeth you should definitely read this excellent book.

I highly recommend it.

‘Tis the Season for Darcy and Lizzy

This was a nice series of Novelas focussing on Darcy and Lizzy before, after marriage and even 20+ years into the future. It was enjoyable seeing familiar situations and unfold in slightly different ways.

- [ ] No more than the truth -Amy D’Orazio Fun snippet where revelations at a ball suggest a path to happiness
- [ ] A charitable affair -Julie cooper The Bingley sisters clearly love to scheme! This new version of Darcy assisting Elizabeth’s family was lovely.
- [ ] Frost Fair-l.M. Romano. Lizzy and Darcy reimagined reconciliation in London with Georgiana as an active instigator was entertaining.
- [ ] A winter romance - Lucy Marin. Darcy pressed by his relatives to advance his connection to Lizzy made me smile. What a difference a loving and supportive family makes!
- [ ] The gift of good character-Gailie Ruth Caress. This was a different view of a Bennet Bingley Darcy Christmas where a play becomes a source of revelations and self discovery
- [ ] A Kings Night-Ali Scott. Entertaining night of surviving Twelfth Night games for Darcy. Who knew that he could be that much fun!
- [ ] Comfort and joy-Jan Ashton. Reflecting on happy living moments amidst the uncertainty of an illness was a new and heartfelt Darcy and Lizzy Christmas variation.
- [ ] What child is this-Frances Reynolds. Imagining the son of George and Lydia Wickham as part of Darcy and Lizzy’s family showed how love and nurturing brings out the best in children

4 - No More than the Truth by Amy D’Orazio – gardiners take elizabeth to a christmas ball that turns out to be darcy’s ball that he asked his sister to organize so he could see elizabeth again
2 - A Charitable Affair by Julie Cooper – kinda lame, the Bennets are putting on a fair to raise money for charity, Miss Bingley puts on a competing fair and bribes the townspeople with free beer, Darcy comes to the rescue by bringing a lot of people from London to the Bennet fair; the whole thing is kinda dumb
3 - Frost Fair by LM Romano – a rather contrived means of letting them remeet (her young cousin helps her rescue Georgianna from random attacker at the frost fair) but the rest is a nice version of the basic story
2 - A Winter Romance by Lucy Marin – Elizabeth is in Lambton with her aunt and runs into Darcy with cousins, lots of the rest is text straight from the book without the parts that make the book interesting; for example, there is no disastrous proposal, instead Darcy can tell Elizabeth doesn’t like him as much as he thought she did back in Meryton, which makes the whole plot extremely bland; there are some Darcy cousins as well as the standard Fitzwilliam cousins, but they have no depth and add nothing fun to the story
2 - The Gift of Good Character by Gailie Ruth Caress – to impress Elizabeth, Darcy invites the whole Bennet family to Christmas in his London home, they have festivities and perform King Lear and everyone has a great time---which is so not the Bennett family
3 - A King’s Night by Ali Scott – Elizabeth and Darcy are already married, return to Longbourn for Bennet traditional Twelfth Night party; Darcy wants to show he isn’t boring and ends up being the “king” to Mrs. Bennet’s “queen”, gets bossed around and acts embarrassingly silly as he gets tipsy
4 - Comfort and Joy by Jan Ashton – after several years of marriage, Darcy is sick with pneumonia just before Christmas
3 - What Child is This by Frances Reynolds – years after the Darcy and Elizabeth are married, Wickam and Lydia leave their 7 year old son on their doorstep; despite trepidation, the Darcy’s take him in and he eventually becomes on of there own; well written, but there isn’t much plot

No More than the Truth by Amy D'Orazio: I do like a story where Lizzy is a bit blind sided about her perceptions. And I have said it before and will say it again. I love Saye.
A Charitable Affair by Julie Cooper: A twist on some characters. I (gasp) cheered Lydia some and booed Charlotte some.
Frost Fair by LM Romano: This is a Darcy courts Lizzy while in London (pre and avoiding DHP) with a remarkably perceptive Georgiana. This was cute. And one of the few quick Elizabeth turnarounds that I've read that was believable and not skimmed over.
A Winter Romance by Lucy Marin: I think that Bramwell is my second favourite support character (often found in Lucy Marin's books) with Amy D'Orazio's Saye being the first.
The Gift of Good Character by Gailie Ruth Caress: a London Xmas hosted by the Darcys. canon divergent with a Bingley with a spine (and not a very good wingman) told from Darcy's POV so we don't get to see Elizabeth's transformation, nor is Darcy really privy to her transformation. interesting.
A King’s Night by Ali Scott: A post-canon, canon-compliant christmas at Longbourn - again Darcy's POV. With Lydia showing up. She is a piece of work.
Comfort and Joy by Jan Ashton:
What Child is This by Frances Reynolds:

I very much enjoyed this P&P Christmas anthology by some of my favorite authors. The stories are sweet and captivating and it was nice when things resolved quite quickly between Darcy and Elizabeth. The stories are very romantic and some have quite funny moments in them. I particularly enjoyed the stories in which Darcy's relations intervened in his favor, adding so much fun to the atmosphere. Darcy's cousin Lord Saye in Amy D'Orazio's story is hilarious, demanding Darcy kiss Elizabeth after he places a mistletoe over Darcy's head.

The various authors give the readers story descriptions for these very short stories, which I am not going to attempt to add to.

One thing I will note is that for some reason each story skips some pages before the next one begins. So the page count seems in error. For example, the first story ends on page 39 and the second one begins on page 44.

I will note that the last story touched my heart in that we read of George and Lydia Wickham's son being abandoned with the Darcy.

A light and fun little escape

I think there was one clunker in this anthology, but the rest were fine. My favourite was the one where Mrs. Bennet gets Darcy loaded at her Twelfth Night party. Haha. But this was a light and fun little collection.

Fall love with Elizabeth and Darcy 8 times!

"...too full of adoration for one another to pay the rest of the world any mind." (quote from the book)

A collection of short stories, in which our dear couple either get together or are already married, including one which shines a light on an original young character.

Quills & Quartos doesn't disappoint! This is as lovely, diverse and charming as the previous anthologies they've published.

I have a paperback collection of their anthologies and this one will be joining it.

I received an advance review copy for free, and voluntarily leave my review.
