This translation makes this deceptively lively Middle English verse romance available in modern English for the first time, enabling it to be studied and read by anyone with an interest in medieval romance in its own right, and also by non-specialist students of medievalism. Its interlaced plots and often ironic dialogue would appeal to general readers of 'heroic' tales.
