This is the second in the series, reading the first book is a must. This picks up a short time after the ending of Deadly Blooms. Maggie was devastated when Graham left, leaving her heart shattered. Maggie really goes through it. She was at her lowest when she met Hunter and cursed him. She knew immediately it was a mistake, but was trying to make the best of things because she felt guilty. Hunter was an immediate ick. I didn’t like him from the beginning, the manipulating and gaslighting…just no. Then when Graham returned, things started to go off the rails with Hunter and Maggie. Oh sweet Graham, he made a huge mistake leaving Maggie and he knew it. But he was haunted by his past and needed to lay those ghosts to rest. When he heard there was another serial unaliver and his victims looked like Maggie, he drove nonstop to get back to Port Grey. Maggie and Graham’s chemistry was there from the moment he returned, their easy banter and connection didn’t miss a beat, even though she was hurting. His groveling was on point, he didn’t make excuses just apologized and asked for a chance. Watching Maggie fight for her happieness while battling her internal struggles was gut wrenching. The quirky small town vibes, with fun banter, and more spice pulled me right back in. Even though the mystery of the serial unaliver was obvious to me, watching and waiting to see how Graham and Maggie ended up together kept me engaged. The ending was a mix of a kind of happy for now and a surprise cliffhanger. Be prepared to be left staring at the wall after finishing the book.

✨ Pretty Dead Things somehow managed to take everything I enjoyed about the first book and raise the stakes even higher. Sadie J. Foxx has created a world that blends paranormal mystery, romance, suspense, and horror so effortlessly that I was hooked from the first chapter until the very last page. 🔮🖤
After everything that happened in the previous book, my heart absolutely broke for Maggie. Watching her try to move forward after Graham disappeared was painful, and I really felt every bit of her confusion and heartbreak. I loved seeing Katie by her side again, and the friendship between them continued to be one of my favorite parts of the series. Their new adventure together added some much-needed humor and lighter moments that balanced the darker themes perfectly. 💜
Then there's Derek... I honestly wasn't expecting to like him as much as I did. He was exactly the kind of support Maggie needed when everything around her was falling apart, and there were definitely moments where I found myself wondering if maybe he deserved a real chance with her. 👀
Graham's journey was equally compelling. He's still carrying so much guilt and trauma while trying to outrun the ghosts of his past, but life refuses to give him a break when another serial killer begins targeting women who resemble Maggie. Watching him get pulled back into the investigation while dealing with his unresolved feelings made every chapter even more intense. 🚔
Hunter, on the other hand... absolutely not. Every scene with him made me uneasy. The more he appeared, the more obvious it became that something wasn't right, and his controlling, manipulative behavior had me constantly waiting for disaster. 😤
The mystery itself completely kept me engaged. There were enough twists, red herrings, paranormal elements, and creepy moments to keep me guessing throughout. I actually figured out the identity behind the Pretty Girl Murders before the reveal, but it honestly didn't lessen the impact because seeing all the pieces finally click into place was incredibly satisfying. The investigation, the psychic elements, the supernatural touches, and the serial killer storyline all worked together so well. 🔪🔮
The romance is far from straightforward, which honestly made it feel more realistic. Maggie and Graham's relationship is messy, emotional, frustrating, and impossible to look away from. Their connection never truly disappears, even when everything else seems determined to keep them apart. This book definitely leans into morally gray situations, complicated relationships, and emotionally messy characters rather than giving readers an easy romance. ❤️🔥
One thing I continue to love about this series is its cast of side characters. Katie remains an absolute standout, Uncle Silas continues to make his presence felt in unexpected ways, and the entire paranormal atmosphere surrounding Port Grey keeps getting richer with every chapter. 👻✨
And then... that ending. 😭 While the main investigation reaches a satisfying conclusion, the personal stories are nowhere near finished. If anything, the final chapters create even more questions than answers, and now I'm desperately waiting to see where Sadie J. Foxx takes Maggie, Graham, and everyone else next.

When you immediately message the author after finishing the book screaming—you know it was a fucking phenomenal book. What am I supposed to do now?! How am I supposed to wait PATIENTLY for the next book. Look I knew going in, there would be a cliffhanger. But GODDAMNIT. Why do I keep putting myself in these situations. Sadie you’re lucky I love you and I keep coming back to this torture 🤣 I can’t help it though—I’m obsessed with this world and these characters.
Before reading this you must read “Deadly Blooms”. It is NONNEGOTIABLE. But also—it’s fucking amazing too. Going in to this I was not expecting the beginning to start off with a bang but boy was I glad! It jumped right back in and didn’t miss a beat. There were a lot of thoughts going on in my head but I completely understand where it all came from. I had emotions all over the place—left, right, down, up, upside down, around, reversed—but god damnit I’d go through it all over again. This was a perfect addition to the series and I can’t help but immediately want more. Graham and Maggie are to die for. Their chemistry, their tension, their banter—EVERYTHING. The feelings they have for each other is felt through every single moment and you don’t want it to stop. AND MY GOD, it is SCORCHING. You keep rooting for more—with a bashful smile, blushing cheeks and kicking feet.
As always, the amount of suspense throughout was perfect. It kept you on your toes and wanting to continue trying to figure it all out. Another thing I absolutely LOVE about this book (and Sadie’s writing in general) IS THE FUCKING UNHINGED, OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE HUMOR. I can’t tell you how many times I almost spit out my coffee while trying to read because I couldn’t stop laughing. Warning—be prepared to snort and cry from laughter because IT HAPPENS A LOT.
Katie, Derek and Uncle Silas are as always a fucking phenomenal family and I wish I were friends with them all in real life. They’re all batshit and give no fucks when it comes to the things they do or say. And it’s SOLID PERFECTION.
I DEVOURED this in 6 hours and 30 minutes (yes, I kept track) BECAUSE IT’S THAT FUCKING GOOD. Of course the last 15% of me reading my anxiety sky rocketed, heart pounding, freaking out because WHAT!!?? I didn’t want to put it down, I wanted it to keep going on and on and on, forever.
Now, until the next book—I must go back and listen & read “Deadly Blooms” and reread “Pretty Dead Things” to keep me occupied while I wait for Sadie to work her magic and give me more unhinged moments to obsess over.
Seriously though—pick this series up. It is absolute GOLD. SHELF TROPHY WORTHY. ALL THE EDITIONS.

All of the spice, none of the boundaries

Graham is working on laying the ghosts of his past to rest. But he is called back to work before he can get himself sorted - there’s a new serial killer working around his home town, and the targets look startlingly like his former flame, Maggie.
Maggie is trying to move on with her life with a new boyfriend and a new job. But things aren’t as rosy as they seem. She’s working for her boyfriend Hunter as an adult entertainment star…and she may have kind of cursed him into obsession with her. So when Graham appears at her door, things start to get complicated with a capital F.
I love this series. It is dark-ish romance with some very morally questionable character, but it is funny and emotional all at the same time. You can’t understand this book without reading book one. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but book three is on the way.
The romance in this book is hard to categorise. Maggie and Graham end badly and take some time to reconnect emotionally - but not physically. This book has absolutely zero doors. None. Nada. Zilch. There are multiple scenes with multiple partners.
It has some seriously heavy triggers. If you are likely to be triggered by something, skip this one. The major themes this deals with are on-page domestic violence, self harm and suicidal ideation - but there are plenty more.

Sadie J. Foxx wowed me with Deadly Blooms and while definitely a darker story, I loved Pretty Dead Things. It had the perfect mix of mystery, suspense, spice, and just enough “what the heck is happening?!” to keep me turning the pages.
I felt so awful for Maggie after Graham just… disappeared. My girl was absolutely heartbroken, and I loved that Derek was there for her through it all. I’m not even going to pretend… there were definitely moments where I caught myself thinking, “You know what? I’d actually be okay if Derek ended up with Maggie.” 😂
Katie and Maggie diving into the world of erotica together was such a fun part of the story, and I loved getting to spend more time with Maggie’s family. Those moments helped balance out all the darker, more intense scenes.
Hunter had my blood pressure through the roof. Immediate dislike. He was so shady, manipulative, and downright violent that every time he showed up I was waiting for something to go horribly wrong.
I guessed who was behind the Pretty Girl Murders before the reveal, but honestly it didn’t take away from it at all. Seeing everything finally come together was still super satisfying.
I also have to mention that ending! The main mystery wrapped up, but the characters’ stories definitely didn’t. It feels like their lives are only getting more complicated, and now I need the next book because I have to know what happens to everyone. No spoilers, but way to leave us needing more!

Sadie J. Foxx has officially become one of those authors whose books keep me saying, "Just one more chapter..." until I realize it's the wee hours of the morning. 🌙📖 Her writing is addictive, fast-paced, and impossible to put down.
Pretty Dead Things delivers the perfect blend of paranormal mystery, suspense, romance, humor, and heart. 🖤🔮 Every chapter pulled me deeper into the story, and I loved trying to piece everything together right alongside the characters.
Maggie continues to be such a wonderful protagonist. She's relatable, determined, and so much fun to follow as her world becomes even more layered. I found myself completely invested in her journey. 💜
And Graham... whew. 😍🔥 He is absolutely top-tier book boyfriend material; protective, caring, thoughtful, and yes... incredible eye candy.
But let's be honest... the real MVP is Chester. 🐈✨ Sweet, spicy Chester completely steals every scene he's in. At this point, I've learned one very important rule: Always trust the cat. 😸

After the cliffhanger in Deadly Blooms, there was no way I wasn’t jumping straight into Pretty Dead Things.
This book takes a darker turn while keeping everything I loved about the first book—witchy paranormal vibes, quirky humour, murder, ghosts and plenty of banter. Maggie continues to be one of my favourite FMCs because she feels so real. She isn’t perfect, she makes mistakes, and watching her navigate everything that’s thrown at her made it easy to stay emotionally invested.
The mystery was still entertaining, although I figured out who the killer was fairly early on. I kept hoping there would be another twist to prove me wrong, so the reveal wasn’t quite as impactful as I’d hoped. That said, the journey was still enjoyable, and I never felt tempted to put the book down.
The romance also shifts in this one. Graham definitely has some making up to do after Book One, and while we see the start of that here, I don’t think his redemption is complete just yet. I’m looking forward to seeing him earn that forgiveness properly in Book Three.
The spice was toned down slightly compared to the first book, but it still fit the story well and never felt forced.
Once again, Sadie J. Foxx blended paranormal romance and murder mystery in a way that kept me hooked from beginning to end. This series has become such a fun read, and I already can’t wait to see where Book Three takes Maggie and Graham.

I loved this book just as much as the first one. The paranormal and witchy aspects are everything I love, and this series gives me the perfect mix of Bewitched vibes with a little Practical Magic thrown in. It has that cozy magical feel while still bringing the mystery, danger, and twists that keep you turning pages.
Maggie is such a fun character, and I love being back in Port Grey with her. The blend of paranormal investigation, magic, murder, and humor makes this series so unique. And can we talk about Uncle Silas? I absolutely love him and his humor. He adds so much personality to the story and I always look forward to his scenes.
The chemistry, the mystery, and the supernatural elements all come together so well. I was completely invested in figuring out what was happening and trying to piece everything together. This book gave me everything I wanted from the sequel and more.
My only complaint is that cliffhanger because I am definitely not okay with it. I need answers immediately! But even with being mad about where it left off, I still loved this book and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Wow, wow, wow! What a book!! I was not expecting that, the plot twists were twisting, this had me on tenterhooks, and seriously I have questions that need answering.
I feel PDT was darker than book 1 and hit some heavy subjects but worked with the whole vibe really well (remember to check your triggers) this is a story full of murders, mystery and suspense.
I really felt for Maggie in this, she’s really having a rough time of it and can’t help but feel hope for her that she finally finds her happiness, with a killer on the loose and a cursed boyfriend who she’s trying to repay a guilt debt too, Maggie can’t seem to catch a break.
Graham (officer McTrampstamp) is still trying to outrun his past while trying to deal with his feelings for Maggie and taking any snippets of being with her that he can, even if it involves sharing with Hunter.
Of course this wouldn’t be a Sadie J Foxx story if it didn’t involve plenty of spice and paranormal hauntings. There’s chapters in this that will have you spitting your drink out and questioning what you have just read because the banter is phenomenal, the tensions are high and the photo shoot is super hot 🔥🔥

Pretty Dead Things is book 2 in the Psychic Unraveled series. You do need to read book 1 for context of what is happening in this one.
After Maggie barely escapes with her life in book 1, she is trying to change her life. She wants her life to be simple. So with her new boyfriend, along with Derek, she starts making adult videos to help pay the bills. But someone's been watching. Someone Maggie seems to have forgotten. But he didn't and now he is a killer on the loose killing woman that resemble Maggie in anyway. Graham is called back in to work the case and steps back into the picture with Maggie and her new boyfriend. Again, together, they find themselves trying to track down a killer, though, I think in this case, they were being tracked.
I enjoyed this book way more than book 1. I was hooked to this one. loved it. There were twists that kept coming, but beware, because this book also ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book!

"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” Pretty dead things. An incredible second after Deadly Blooms! I am obsessed with this series, and Pretty Dead Things pulled me right back into the quirky, atmospheric world of Port Grey.
Maggie really goes through the emotional ringer in this installment. Watching her fight for her happiness while battling her internal struggles was absolutely nerve breaking. I loved seeing the contrast in her relationships. Hunter gave off immediate red flags with his manipulation, which made Graham’s return even more impactful. Graham’s groveling was completely on point. He didn't make excuses, owned his past mistakes, and his easy banter and undeniable chemistry with Maggie didn't miss a single beat. The emotional journey between Maggie and Graham kept me completely glued to the pages. The book gives you an ending to crave even more ASAP! I know I want more. 💛

I had a lot of fun with this one. It has this dark, quirky rom-com atmosphere that somehow works really well with the paranormal mystery. Even though it’s definitely heavier and darker than the first book, it still has enough humor to keep things from feeling too serious.
Maggie was probably one of my favorite parts. I really liked her personality and she made it easy to stay invested in everything she was dealing with. Between the mystery, the banter, the paranormal twists and all the secrets unfolding, I was eagerly flipping to the next page.

Maggie’s character arc from book one was also done impeccably well. While it broke my little heart to get a glimpse into Maggie’s destroyed emotional state following Graham’s abandonment, it was refreshing to watch her reclaim her power by the end of this one, especially considering the shit she was forced to face upon his return. The plot in this one was thick and dark. While I predicted a few plot twists before they were revealed, I found myself on the edge of my seat flying through the pages. That ending though? Absolutely diabolical! I need more ASAP! Overall, definitely pick this one up after reading book one.

Graham and Maggie have a really wild ride in this book, which picks up some time after the events of book 1. Maggie especially goes through it. Not only did she get stuck in the fallout from Graham leaving the way he did, but now she has to deal with him being back while also being hunted by the Pretty Girl Killer. She is also emotionally torn as she is with Hunter, who she cursed. However, her chemistry with Graham remains top tier and the man is GROVELING. How would anyone not root for them to get it together? As in book 1, there is some fun paranormal activity as well as the just super unhinged in the best way ever humor. I lovedddd the unhinged humor. It helped cut through all the emotional and darker parts of the story. That cliffhanger at the end though was diabolical. Excited to see where it goes and I can't wait to read the next book.

July 29, 2026Oh my god! The tension and angst through the whole book was so stressful! Definitely a good read if you thrive on slow burns with all the yearning, that's not typically my thing though and I was stressing.
Maggie, Katie, and on occasion Derek getting into sex work was definitely a shock to me, but hell if that's what a girl's gotta do to heal, then why not? While it was a shock I do think that it added so much to this book, and was a very cohesive way to bring Graham and Hunter into the same space.
Be ready to be hit with a cliffhanger because I already can't wait for book 3. Just like at the end of book 1 when I had no idea where book 2 would take us, I expect book 3 to be just as shocking when its finally released.

It was a pleasure to revisit Maggie and Graham, though I found myself feeling a bit saddened by the challenges Maggie endured throughout this particular book. Additionally, the paranormal elements seemed somewhat diminished for a significant portion of the narrative. The new character introduced as Maggie's companion was rather bothersome and gave off an unsettling impression from the outset. While I did find the book enjoyable overall, it appeared to suffer from what is often referred to as "second book syndrome," and certain sections felt a bit protracted. The story concluded with a type of cliffhanger, leaving me quite intrigued about Graham's fate and hoping for his eventual recovery.

This story continues with Graham and Maggie. It has a more serious tone. My heart was all over the place with Maggie's situation with Hunter. I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that Graham came back and was all in! The scene with the sleigh and photo shoot had me laughing so hard. I need more of Maggie's mom and a certain Captain. The story had excellent progression and the introduction of new characters helped mix it up. Bishop definitely caught my eye. I can't wait to see what happens with Derek. I want him to have a happy ending. I didn’t expect the ending, but I'm definitely looking forward to more shenanigans from the group.

I have been awaiting this book since the cliffhanger from book one, and I was not disappointed. Graham returns to town to help solve a series of murders. Maggie is in a very complicated relationship. Their attraction is still there after all the time apart. This has a ton of spice, a dysfunctional family, ghosts, and a murder mystery. This was so much fun and also ends on a cliffhanger that has me anxious for the next book. Besides being a spicy paranormal romance and mystery, it also has fun banter and funny moments.

Let me start by giving a reminder to check all the TWs before reading. This book is much darker and covers heavier topics than the first book in the series. I enjoyed the storyline quite a bit. I did figure out the mystery part fairly quickly, but that is by no means a negative thing for me. The ending really leaves you ready to just into the next one, but alas, we have to wait. As long as it is safe for you to do so, give this series a chance!

The chemistry, mystery, and magic is not only what makes these such a page turner but also makes it so inimitable. The cliff hanger!!! I need more asap, I need to know what happens next. I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of how this book played out for the majority of it. It seemed like a fluff piece, till like 60% in, just filler basically. But when the plot really took hold, boyyyyyy that really hit!
I have high hopes for the third book. I hope it feels more like the first book in the series. More of the paranormal romcom-esque feel, with all the banter.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. I was laughing, getting hot, cackling, and worried. This book will have you wanting to finish it in one day. That is how good it is! Sadie draws you in and will make you sit up clutching your Kindle wanting more. 5 stars but 6 stars, if you get it.
