School is boring? [Fireball]! Hate your teacher? [Fireball]! The pretty elf girl is making moves? ...[Fireball]?
Michael lived a decent life. His high-school years were kind of meh, but he got into the college he wanted and he still had his history, gaming, and tabletops. Decent. But more than wondering if his high-school experience could have been better, he wondered about fantasy worlds, something better and more magical than his boring, everyday life.
Wish granted. Who knew bathrooms could act as portals?

Now, Michael has been forcefully enrolled at Gnosis Academy, the premier magical academy in the world. Here, he has to adapt to new species, strange friends, and even stranger girlfriends. Did he mention that the academy has factions? Well, it does, and they all want a piece of Michael-pie.
And what's with all the Classes and Skills... oh. It's a game. Yeah, that checks out.

In his first year, Michael will have to learn how to use the System, navigate the politicking of this ancient institution, get good at magic, and maybe even start a conspiracy or two. When everyone's in on the game, you only lose when you don't play.
Loyal lycans, headstrong elves, and honorable orcs, Gnosis has it all.

This novel is an action-packed LitRPG adventure, following a young man who made a wish and got it, only not how he expected. It is set inside a world where your Class dictates who you are and your Levels dictate your progress. But it is no video game.

The story is ok worldbuilding very limited to the academy itself and environment is ok. Little to no filler (big fan of). The downsides are the under age flirting n romance is weird, action scenes are plain and repetitive, you'd think the mc would have a better idea of utilizing favours and keeping an eye out for abilities \skills that'll improve his survivability as well as equipment so he can survive long enough to get home, e.g. Train mana manipulation. Train barriers. Have a skin augmented ability so he's not squishy enchanted armour.......but all he learns is attack spells. Also the plotholes of the concept of the factions themselves... It feels irrelevant in everyway. once you leave the academy you can't come back , does the factions have any weight in the outside world does it even matter? The outside world isn't even explained so what's the point in learning? The concept of money is pointless in an academy that feeds you for free and everything else is obtained through favours.

Chose it for the cover, ended up reading the whole book

Like the title said, I bought this book because I liked the cover and the blurb was interesting.
But I read the entire thing in just a few days. The style is easy to read and the plot follows the MC as he begins his first year at Gnosis (the magical school).
It's like Hogwarts, but better fleshed out and, in my humble opinion, the characters act more like real people.
And magic plus intrigue plus a good cast makes me a happy reader.
Didn't find any issues with the grammar either.

All in all, it's a 5 out of 5 for me and I'd recommend this for anyone who likes magical school life.
