When love defies the rules and secrets threaten to unravel everything… how far would you go to fight for forever?
Ashlyn Brookes has always believed in love, the kind that sweeps you off your feet and refuses to let go. But living in a small town with four overprotective brothers, love’s always felt just out of reach. When she finds herself falling for someone her brothers may never accept, she knows it won’t be easy. But this time, she’s choosing her heart, whatever the consequences.
Ben Murphy is hiding secrets—secrets that could destroy what’s starting to form between him and Ashlyn before it even has a chance to begin. He knows he shouldn’t have fallen for her. He’s older, her boss, and that’s only the beginning of what complicates things. But after months of trying to keep his distance, one kiss was all it took to realize he couldn’t walk away.
With both families against them and obstacles far greater than an age gap threatening to tear them apart, they’re standing on the edge of forever. But is love enough to see them through or will everything they’ve fought so hard for come crashing down?
The Hope Creek Series revolves around the Brookes Family. Ashlyn has four older brothers who believe their job is to protect her. But Ashlyn has found that their protectiveness is over the top stifling. No one has ever been good enough for her in their opinion. Ashlyn has been crushing on the new principal at the school where she teaches. The new principal, Ben Murphy, is also attracted to Ashlyn but he is older. They enjoy each other’s company and start developing feelings for each other. There are a couple of issues. Ben has a teenage daughter and a wife who has been in a coma for six years. Will Ashlyn’s brothers and Ben’s daughter learn to accept their budding romance? Laura Farr writing style captivates the reader as Ashlyn and Ben travel through their emotional minefield of opposition.
I have absolutely loved being back in the Hope Creek world again! It's been a LONG time since I read a full book in one day, but I really didn't want to put this one down as it was just so easy to fall into and devour those pages. And this time, we get the story of the only female sibling, Ashlyn. We always knew that those big brothers would be a nightmare when she wanted to start dating someone, and they did not disappoint when Ben came onto the scene! Emotions, people against them, secrets, and much much more all rolled into one fab story!
We always knew that Ashlyn’s story was going to have fireworks. Those brothers were never going to make a relationship easy on her. The story flowed well, the characters were likeable, the story itself kept you on the edge of your seat, and I can’t wait for Wyatt’s book. He’s definitely the underdog and it was good to see him more in this book.
It was so nice to be back in Hope Creek again! Parts of this story felt like we never left this group. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ash and Ben, and loved how everyone came together. I wish there was a little more included on Taylor’s accident
