Earth’s water is dying—and humanity is almost out of time.
As every lake and ocean inches toward expiration, the race for survival turns to the stars. Hidden in the asteroid belt lies an impossibly ancient seed ship—a relic with ties to Babylon itself—capable of carrying billions to safety in the Aldebaran system… if anyone can activate it.

But salvation has enemies.

A ruthless Water Cult has seized control of Earth’s last drinkable reserves, poisoning what remains to ensure only the elite survive the collapse. In war-scarred Santiago, The Professor and a lone dog fight to stay alive, unaware that they hold the literal keys to activating the ancient ship.

Enter Commander Calager McGeen and the crew of the Coracias—rogue pioneers risking everything as they plunge beneath the icy depths of Lago Greve and battle through Chile’s radioactive jungles. Their rescue The Professor, awaken Thatenbia, and save a dying civilization before the Water Cult seals humanity’s fate.

Can a single crew outwit a global conspiracy and reboot humanity’s future?
Does the wisdom of Babylon hold the last hope for life among the stars?

The countdown has begun.
The fight for humanity’s future starts now.

Thatenbia: Book One: The Coracias Series by Henry Sipes.
Coracias series book 1.
This was a really good read. I loved the cover and blurb of this book. The cover was why I signed up for this tour. This is a new author for me. I got into this book straight away. I liked the writing style and the story. I did like Girl, Sara, and Sanchez. Even Ada the computer. This was a nice change of genre for me. I read in two sittings. I couldn't put it down. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I do recommend this book.

💬 "the greatest gift of life is friendship"

Who'd have thought that throwing something as simple as a banana skin into the water could have such catastrophic repercussions in the future! Thatenbia serves as a stark reminder that the Earths resources aren't finite, and that we
need to take care of them before it is too late.

I've previously read the prequel trilogy to this series, 'The Babylonian Chronicles' and it was really nice getting to know some of the characters from that better.

'Thatenbia' is a fast-paced, sci-fi adventure told from multiple POVs, at times I was a little confused as to who was narrating so found I had to take my time and read carefully. I think my favourite narrator was 'Girl', I love a non-human voice!

The plot was engaging and really made me think about how we are treating Mother Earth, and what that means for the future. I found the stuff about the number 60 particularly interesting, and I'm not usually a maths person at all!

I think this is an interesting series and look forward to seeing what's next.

I wouldn’t usually call myself a sci-fi fan.. but the more I read, the more I’m getting into it, and I really enjoyed this book.

I loved that the POV is constantly changing and we are seeing the breakdown of events from every side.. right until the end I kept reading to see what would happen, to who, next.

I think Laila is my favourite character.. you’ll have to read it to find out who she is 😀

The best part about this book was the way it had me thinking about the realities of how we would cope as a globe if something of this scale would happen.. and then reflecting on how we have coped with big events like Covid, and our history of large scale tragic events. Humanity reacts in unpredictable ways!!

Thankyou so much to the author and LBT for the arc to review

What a great concept we have here. The idea that all water on Earth has an expiry date and the countdown to expiration is looming. In order to save humanity, The United Arab Emirates has devised a plan to move billions of refugees to a new world in the far distant Aldebaran system. But there are those who believe only the so called "Elite" should travel, and not all is as it seems far out into the stars.

There are some interesting scientific concepts explored here, with many great characters that are believable and feel real.

The plot moves along nice and speedily and I read this over two blustery autumn afternoons.

I enjoyed the concept of this book, that the future can all stem from a banana causing a chemical reaction!

The name you don’t find out until the end and I like learning the meaning of the words.

The characters are well written and the connections between them are surprising! My favourite character was Girl.

The setting in the zoo was great as well and the submarine! There were so many parts that came together really well

After reading - and enjoying - my last read by this author - The Babylonian Chronicles, back in Feb - I thought it would be great to dabble a little more in a good sci-fi read.

You know that it's not my most read genre, but I do like to push my boundaries and having read this author before, I was excited to head on into this new series.

This is the first book in the Coracias series and I actually found that it had helped to read the Chronicles first.

Because I don't often read this genre, it usually takes me a while to get into these reads, but having that familiarity from before, helped me to settle straight into this - plus with such a (relatively) short read, this really helped.

I obviously didn't follow all of the science elements of this, but I really liked that this prompted a few discussions at home as I asked my much more worldly "boys" about this and I felt like I'd learned from this.

I loved the concept of this storyline, however, as usual, I come out of these things thinking about them for days afterwards and this happened here.

Water is obviously such a precious commodity on earth and what would happen if this did become so limited in this way.

Being set not so far in the future felt quite scary!

This was another great read and I will definitely be checking out the rest of the series as it releases - I wish I could do this more justice and really want to incorporate more of this genre in my tbr - I just know those who love already read lots of sci-fi, will just eat these books up!

I really enjoyed Thatenbia. This is a great example of why I love sci-fi. There's dystopian elements, adventure, a war over water, stuff happening in space, and in submarines. There was literally constant action in the best way.

There are some really memorable characters as well. I am particularly fond of Girl. I loved the sections from her perspective. There are also some strong women in leadership positions making tough decisions, so I gravitated to those characters as well. I'm looking forward to continuing this series.

Thank you to author Henry Sipes and Love Books Tours for including me on this book tour and for the #gifted digital copy!
