From a USA Today bestselling author...He’ll do anything to win back his son’s love… even if it means risking his own heart.Blake Carmichael, Hollywood’s hottest action star, traded the red carpet for a quiet life in New Hampshire to reconnect with his estranged teenage son. When Eli sneaks out the night before Christmas Eve, Blake’s desperate search leads him to an unlikely ally – and an unexpected attraction.

Caro Neely, a local waitress, is fiercely protective of her niece, Kyleigh. She's staying with Kyleigh when the teen disappears with Eli. Caro’s fear of the city is overshadowed by her determination to bring her home safely. A late-night road trip with the famous Blake Carmichael is definitely not part of her holiday plans, but she’ll do whatever it takes to protect her family.

As Blake and Caro navigate the city’s dark streets in search of the missing teens, they uncover more than just their whereabouts. A dangerous encounter forces them to rely on each other, blurring the lines between reluctant partners and something much deeper.

With Eli’s resentment simmering and Caro’s anxieties resurfacing, their budding romance is threatened by more than just holiday stress.

Join Blake and Caro in this enchanting novella, where love, forgiveness, and the spirit of Christmas intertwine in the most unexpected ways.

Robin Patchen is a USA Today bestselling and award-winning author of Christian romantic suspense. She grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, the setting of her Nutfield Saga books, and then headed to Boston to earn a journalism degree. After college, working in marketing and public relations, she discovered how much she loathed the nine-to-five ball-and-chain. After relocating to the Southwest, she started writing her first novel while she homeschooled her three children. The novel was dreadful, but her passion for storytelling didn’t wane. Thankfully, as her children grew, so did her writing ability. Now that her kids are adults, she has more time to play with the lives of fictional heroes and heroines, wreaking havoc and working magic to give her characters happy endings. When she’s not writing, she’s editing or reading, proving most of her life revolves around the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. Short & sweet

A lot of ground was covered in just a few pages with this novella. Of course, it all happened in one night, so I guess short is appropriate. Blake Carm8chael, movie star, has moved to Nutfield to attempt to reconnect with his son, Eli. Eli is spending Christmas with his dad because his mother is on her honeymoon. He sneaks out of the house with plans to meet his girlfriend & go to a concert in Boston. Blake connects with Caro, aunt of Rileigh (the girlfriend) and they head out to. Find the wayward teens. Much happens when they find the separated pair. It's a good (short) story.

This all happens on the night before and early morning of Christmas Eve. I almost didn’t read it because I’m not a fan of divorce stories. Blake had my sympathies, and I liked Caro most of the time. Of course there was a bit of believing the worst instead of asking for the truth, but it was late at night or very early morning and there was a lot of stress going on, so it wasn’t unbelievable. There was some danger but it wasn’t super tense and none of it lasted very long. I was so glad Blake and Eli were able to have that talk at the end!

Great Inspirational Romantic Suspense!

The characters were believable, and their faith was woven throughout the book and expressed in meaningful ways. I'm enjoying this series. I started at the end of the series, so I'm going back to the beginning to read Book 1 now. More later!

Loved thIs good story. Loved both main characters and their teenage kids. always appreciate the spiritual parts of Robin's books. Never judge before making sure the rumors are true or pass it on as truth.
