Baby,

The moment I met Kincaid, I didn’t know if I wanted to fight him or fuck him. He chose the latter, and it’s been crazy ever since. My cousin tried to warn me about him. He was rude, unhinged, and crazy, but honey, I was too. I was also heartbroken. I didn’t come to New York for him or any man, for that matter. I came here because I couldn’t be in the same city with the man who had a baby with my cousin.

Kincaid,

I knew I was going to be her husband the moment I met her. All she had to do was let me. I could handle her crazy, broken, and hurt because she was worth it. She was my wife, until death did us part.

This was a great read. So much happened and both Aaliyah and Kincaid were crazy so this was an intense read. But true to Tiffany's brand, it was extremely entertaining. It flowed and the spicy scenes were 🥵🥵🥵. The ending was wild. How do you hijack a wedding? like omg lol Tiffany always has to include some wild things in her stories lol I like how she touched on mental health like depression and grief. Highly recommended!

Toxic!

Both Kincaid and Baby are extremely toxic and should have stayed away from each other, but what rubbed me all the way wrong was the fact that Baby was so early manipulated by Kincaid with sex. It happened so much that I started to question if he really liked her for real or if he simply enjoyed toying with her in that way, and it really altered my enjoyment of the story.

The book is told from both points of view, switching between her and Kincaid, which makes the story feel personal and raw. From the beginning, their connection is explosive. They argue, clash, and pull toward each other at the same time. There is attraction, anger, pain, and a lot of unresolved trauma on both sides.

She comes to New York to escape heartbreak and betrayal, not to fall in love. Kincaid is not gentle or polished, he’s rough around the edges, obsessive, and completely sure of what he wants. What makes the story work is that neither of them pretends to be okay. They are messy, hurt, and emotionally scarred, and the book doesn’t shy away from that.

The relationship is intense and sometimes unhealthy, but it’s written honestly. This isn’t a fairy tale romance, it’s about obsession, loyalty, and loving someone when everything feels damaged. Kincaid’s devotion is extreme, and her struggle to trust and heal feels real. Their love feels consuming, not safe, which is the point.

The writing is easy to read and emotionally charged, pulling you through the story quickly. Even though the book is short, it packs a strong emotional punch. The ending reinforces the idea that love can be powerful, destructive, and permanent all at once.
