I really like the way this author writes. It's a lot like reading poetry, so much imagery. On the down side, it was a little too cryptic for me, a lot of unanswered questions. I felt like I was starting in the middle of a series. I didn't understand the origin of Mara and Luca's relationship, or why Luca and Tessa were engaged. Luca was engaged to Mara's sister, yet they seemed to have never met. Luca seemed to be more of a law-abiding citizen than I would expect from someone in the mafia. Why did Mara and Tessa have some secret agent type skills? The unanswered questions detracted from the story for me, but I liked it overall.
