Lucifer asked the Gypsies, "What is the punishment for killing a Dark Warrior?" There was absolute silence. All the Gypsies were in fear for their lives. They did not want to draw the attention of this powerful demon. Jal, seeing an opportunity for himself, yelled, "Life for life." Lucifer watched as Rayus tried to warn his dad by tugging on his arm. That evil grin appeared on Lucifer's face once again as he said, "Jal, was that you?" Seizing his opportunity, he said, "Yes, my Lord Lucifer."

In this second book of the God Chronicle trilogy, Thomas, God's Last Prophet, realizes that the only way to beat Lucifer and prevent Armageddon is by stopping the birth of the Antichrist. In his efforts to find Lucifer, Thomas gets bonked on the head by the Pope using a religious artifact, gets beat up by Gypsies, and almost killed by demons. Eventually, Thomas teams up with a stuttering genius that is possessed by a fallen angel. The unlikely threesome seems to click on all cylinders as they work together and chase Lucifer through Europe. Will collaborating with a fallen angel prove to be a bad choice?

You know what really pisses me off? When a book is just a prelude to a series. There's no beginning, middle, and end to this book. It's just the beginning. And there's no fucking conclusion whatsoever. It's bullshit, is what it is.

This book is the story of Thomas, God's last prophet. He's just some average jackass. He's not even particularly religious. But one of God's angels came to him in a vision, and told him to lead the people to victory. To fight the battle with the demons who seek to destroy the world.

So Thomas wakes from his vision and says, "Alrighty then..." And takes off to Rome, to see the Pope. I'm not sure why he set out to seek the Pope's wisdom. I mean Thomas isn't even Catholic. And it's not like the Pope can tell him anything that God's angels can't. Plus, the Pope's people are probably just gonna think Thomas is bat-shit insane.

But Thomas gets lucky. He bumps into a nun who listens to his story. Because she's an old lady who's not playing with a full deck of cards. Thomas spouts some religious text to her, and she immediately believes him to be God's last prophet. So she fast-tracks him to see the Pope.

Once Thomas finally gets to meet His Holiness, the Pope bashes Thomas upside the head with a staff. Because, apparently that's how you tell if someone is a demon, or just plain human. Because demons heal faster. And Thomas just stood there with a stupid look on his face, as blood dribbled down his face.

"Well, shit..." the Pope said. "I guess you're not a demon after all." And then they have a long pointless conversation. Because the whole meeting was pointless. There's nothing the Pope can tell you that's gonna help with anything, Thomas. He's just a man, like you.

Thomas goes off to fight the good fight against the demons with his trusty sidekick, Myrrh. Because all religious crusaders need their own personal computer hacker, apparently. Oh yea, and Myrrh can channel angels and demons and stuff. And he can tell when things are real, or imaginary. Quite the useful sidekick.

And then there's the whole antichrist thing. The devil impregnated some young girl to birth his hellspawn, but he doesn't do it the fun way. He doesn't actually fuck her. No, that'd be cool. We can't have that. No, he just takes her to his evil lab and impregnated her with some evil plasma super-sperm, or something. With a fucking needle and a petri dish. No dick required. Man, some demons just don't know how to party.

And then the book ends. Okay, not right there, but soon after the hell-spawn is born. It just ends. Thomas and his sidekick aren't any closer to stopping the evil demons, and God finally decides that Thomas is a useless fuckstick. The end.

Seriously? Come on, man. This is fucking bullshit. It's like just as the book was finally getting interesting, it ends. I was bored out of my mind, until the last few chapters. I actually got interested in the story. And then it ends on a motherfucking cliffhanger.

I know I've been on kind of a 2 star rampage lately. But it's not my fault. Authors keep sending me these bullshit books, and it's pissing me off. Somebody please send me a good book to read. I'm really getting sick and tired of reading horseshit.

Thomas vs. the end of the world.

The One Path is the second book of Larry S. Gerovac’s God Chronicles trilogy.
This is a really cool fiction/fantasy trilogy featuring interesting characters such as angels, demons, the Dark Gypsies, Lucifer, the last God’s Prophet and main character Thomas, and Myrrh.

This book takes place on Earth just when Thomas realizes that, in order to avoid the Armageddon/Apocalypses, he will have to stop the birth of the Antichrist. But Thomas is not alone. In his path to save the world, he will meet and join forces with characters like the own Pope and a mysterious genius that saves a dark secret in his soul. Spoiler: I especially liked the chapters ‘The Abduction’, ‘Myrrh’s Secret’ and ‘Too Late’. Those are very intense chapters that I fervently read until the end.

This book is written in third person and in a very professional way. It is very noticeable that the author has visited Italy and knows Europe because his descriptions of characters and places are very accurate. If you like books like “The Da Vinci Code” or “Constantine” you will love this series. Totally must have!

I read the first book in the trilogy of The God Chronicles, it was called The Great Angel War... and it was good, but the second book, The One Path is much better. In the second book, Thomas, Gods resistant prophet veers from the expected path and decides the best way to stop Lucifer from starting Armageddon is by stopping the birth of the Antichrist. Where book one took place in heaven book two takes place here on the earth. Many of the things in the book are right out of the bible and of course since the book is a fantasy, some things are made up. The book pits Lucifer and his followers against Thomas and a growing number, that are starting to support him. I don't want to spoil the many good parts in the book but there are dark gypsies and how the author links them to Lucifer is just amazing. The book has a short prolog so I think you could read it without reading the first book but you would be missing a great story. I call this book a fun read.

The One Path is book two of the God Chronicles series. As the name implies there is a single path that humans and angels must follow to reap the rewards that God has planned for them. The problem is that since God gave angels and humans free will, the path often strays from Gods intended plans. In book one, The Great Angel War, Thomas Mumin, is told that he has been chosen as God's last prophet and he learns both the strengths and weaknesses of Lucifer. In book two, The One Path, Thomas realizes he must stop the birth of the Antichrist to prevent Armageddon. In trying to stop Lucifer, Thomas must fight demons, dark gypsies and humans. There are many cool twists and turns as Thomas soon realizes that he is not alone in the fight. There are even Cherokee Spirit Warriors in the story. Lots of action, a great story, I look forward to seeing what happens in book three.

I didn't realize that this was the second book in a series, but I was able to figure out the story line from the Prologue. It seems that god has given the task of saving humanity to a nondescript, everyday man. Thomas Mamin must stop Lucifer and the Armageddon. A big task for an unassuming man. But he manages to wheedle his way into a meeting with the Pope, which is an amusing meeting. Along the way, Thomas picks up followers and his sidekick, Myrrh.
The book is well-written and easy to follow. There is fun and humor in the story, almost as if the author finds his characters amusing. I do. I love a good parody. The characters who are introduced as the story progresses are colorful and interesting. Nothing is boring. The action is fast-paced. Nothing is predictable. All of this makes for a good book.

In the One Path, the unassuming Thomas Mumin must lead the charge as God's Last Prophet in order to stop the birth of the Antichrist, which will herald the beginning of the war between Heaven and Hell, with the fate of all mankind at stake.

With the help of his uniquely-talented friend Myrrh at his side, Thomas must use his newly-discovered abilities to vanquish the machinations of Lucifer and his dark horde of demons and duped human followers.

The story was interesting, and the although the pacing was often all over the map, it was quite entertaining as well. A worthy story for readers of any creed!

This second book in the God Chronicles Trilogy blows me away! The author had me from the first page and it just kept getting better. I read the whole book in one sitting and I want more! Cannot wait for the third book to come out. I don't know where Larry S Gerovac gets his ideas but they are interesting, fresh, and sometimes scary! If you like religious, Sci-fi fantasy you will absolutely love this book. I recommend it highly!

Another great work by Gerovac in the God Chronicles series. The One Path will keep you enthralled as you follow Thomas, Myrrh, Lucifer and the Dark Gypsies. The story picks up from were the first book (The Great Angle War) left off. The book draws you in from the first page and I must say, I could not wait to see what happens next. This book definitely worth checking out, even if you are not a Christian based fantasy reader.

The One Path was good. The author has some unique ideas and I like them. The book had angels and demons and Gypsies and way more. I have not read anything by this author but I think I will see what else Larry writes. * This book was given to me from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Outstanding!

I don't write reviews, I give opinions. This book and the one before are without a doubt two of the best I've read. We tend to view profits as an extension of God. This gives a human face to them. In the space of a few paragraphs I laughed and then broke down sobbing. I very much look forward to the next book.

The One Path is an interesting fantasy read that deals with demons, angels, and upcoming armageddon. Lucifer plans to impregnate some poor girl to make her give birth to the antichrist, which might mean the end of all things good. So God needs a prophet to help battle demons. Unfortunately, he makes a rather odd choice, and picks out Thomas, who is just about as regular and plain as one can get. But Thomas is God’s choice for the Last Prophet, and who are we to argue with that?

Thomas sets out to prevent the end of the world, but luckily, he soon gets help from his sidekick, Myrrh, a genius who is possessed by a fallen angel, which is useful at times, but might be dangerous too. With some help from the Pope, they’re on their way to battle demons, but things don’t always turn out as planned and Thomas finds himself in danger more often than not. Will they be able to halt the devil’s plan?

The book offers an unique blend of fantasy and religion, and stays true to the bible in a lot of aspect while still being original and entertaining. The writing style is engaging, and I could connect with the characters right away. The plot moves fast too, and it managed to surprise me a few times. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

This was a fascinating book. It started out slow and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but I was quickly sucked in to the tale. There is religious underpinnings which may make some people uncomfortable but I found it very interesting. Some of the religious underpinnings were new to me and things I am not sure are doctrinally sound, but it definitely is worth considering.

I think the underlying story is one that should be considered. While written as fiction it has much to teach us about faith and remaining on guard against evil. I strongly recommend everyone read this book and consider the ideas put forth.

I give this book 5 out of 5 clouds
