How does a family cope when a child is abducted and not found?

IT’S ME VIOLET is psychological suspense that delves into the destructive nature of grief, while also giving us a murder to solve. The new crime and the old abduction get tangled in unexpected ways. I really enjoyed the complexities of this story.

I highly recommend going into this one blind. The description gives away something pivotal that doesn’t happen until around the two-thirds point in the book, and knowing in advance would take away a lot of the tension leading up to this event.

Trace of Evil by this author firmly stays in my top 10 books. It's a book I wish I could forget the ending so I could read it again for the first time. IMO it's really that good. Since then I have read several others by this author and they all have glimmers of that greatness. This one felt a little disjointed in the beginning, but strongly rebounded through the middle with excellent character building, great suspense pacing and a solid mystery that kept me quickly turning pages. The ending, while a little rushed, was very satisfying and worth the read.
