When the world collapses piece by piece, who will we become?
Fall delivers a thoughtful and gripping coming-of-age story set in a near-future world slowly unraveling at the seams. On the isolated island of Talem, the last ferry’s departure serves as a powerful symbol: once connected to the world, now cut off and on their own. What makes this book stand out is its focus on community dynamics and human resilience rather than nonstop action. As unsettling transmissions arrive from the outside and tensions flare with a neighboring island, the story thoughtfully explores how fear, hope, conflict, and courage shape the characters and their choices under pressure. The narrative raises compelling questions: How do we forge identity when the structures we depend on fall away? How far will people go to protect what they love? I enjoy this author. He develops his characters as his story progresses and I like his usually positive attitude. The stories flow well and he picks interesting subjects and time to write about.
