Return to the gritty world of Apocalypse BREAKER, where the overpowered hero begins to see the true scale of the System.
The Onslaught Jubilee is on, and Dean has complete admin access.
This sounds good until he if anyone figures out the System has set him up to disrupt the proceedings, he'll be in dire trouble.
Aided by the Jade Queen, Steward, and Necromancy-Specialist Cruz, he must navigate his first preview of the highest-levels of the System, all while working to undermine a war that would destroy Earth's unprepared defenses.
And that's just the first half.
Apocalypse BREAKER is an action-packed story featuring an overpowered main character, ridiculous stakes, and constant growth. Expect gritty action, humor, and LitRPG mechanics.
Disclaimer: I was a beta reader for this book. Blame me if any math is wrong.
The third entry in the Apocalypse Breaker saga has Dean Williams fully unlocked and ready to cause mischief on his most dangerous mission yet. With no more artificial limits on his growth, and powerful abilities earned in previous events, how will he deal with a place where every adventurer is 3 times his level or more? What sort of chaos can be caused, and why is carcinization always one of the answers to evolving problems? This story gives a well thought expansion to the underlying Lore of the world and where each of these pieces fits within it, slowly unfolding a potential path of resistance that our hero might take to protect his friends and new found family. Together with his allies, He Stands Between in a conflict with real stakes while bridging the gap with others to make lasting connections. Plus, think of how cute Robin's next form will be.
Definitely give this book a shot and be like me, waiting for the next one.
Interesting story in my opinion pretty good but not exceptional in anyway. The blurb says the MC is OP. He is not. He’s just an average person who has to rely on other people to help him get through the day. OP characters never get beaten into a pulp, have their skin ripped off, they are not. reduce to puddles of basically bonemeal. OP characters get the job done, and have secondary characters take up the slack. That is my main gripe with the story. The character is not OP. maybe the author should read some books with OP characters to get the idea of what an OP character should be.
I have enjoyed the Apocalypse BREAKER series. I especially like the different environments and people that Dean comes in contact with. This book is no different with several different locations and many scenes of mayhem! In my opinion this book felt a little like a turning point for Dean. The character is growing, and his trajectory is starting to be seen. What choices the many characters make will tell us the shape of his journey, and I'm looking forward to finding out. Thank you Aaron and Sean!
A great story so far. In a genre that many writers rinse and repeat plot points. Mr Renfroe showcases a talent for writing and creativity on par with any competing series as #1 favorite series. So many great set up points for future development without the lag in any of the main story most other series has to set up future storyline. It all blends seamlessly without missing a great and never a dull moment in any of the books in this series too date. Can't wait for future instalments.
This book does something that normally results in me blacklisting the author/authors and leaving a 1 star review, and kills one or more characters, of which at least one should be untouchable. However, the killing is done in a way that feels correct as a character growth point. This is a wonderful third book and I can’t wait for the next couple of books to come out.
Pretty good. I find the sense of humour quite annoying sometimes, and sometimes it can be a bit pompous, but overall it was very enjoyable. Although if they hadn't toned down Hamish pretty quickly I'm not sure I could have stuck it out. My gosh, that first bit with him was annoying. Again the sense of humour not quite hitting. I got the sense that the authors thought it was hilarious and hadn't considered that maybe it wasn't for everyone. Oh well.
One of my favorite parts of this series is the military like document at the front that reviews the previous book, it’s such an ingenious way to remind readers what happened before.
Robin is amazing as always! Dean is bad to the bone and it’s only going to get better!
The Jubilee was wild, interesting, and full of potential. That part was truncated, but was pretty good before the cut off. The return to Earth was a let down. The imitation SS, the biological weapons, and STAN were all stupid, cruel, and disappointing. Still, I am planning to read the next one.
This was a fantastic continuation of the series. We finally getting into the nitty gritty of just how trustworthy the government is - it’s not, we get all the delicious fights from the jubilee and some excellent extensions of our understandings of the wider universe
Everything in this literary multiverse has been incredible, while avoiding all the tired tropes this genre is filled with. Everyone who likes good books should read them.
I really have been enjoying this series. I like it when the planning or next steps by the MC are not all hashed out in a monologue or even with someone else but I can be surprised by that actions that followed. Looking forward to the next installment!
4.5 stars. Story is developing well as are the characters. Kept my attention, though it seemed a bit longer than it absolutely needed to be. Book 4 will probably be pretty intense as everything comes together, so I'll be on that as soon as it comes out.
I loved this book, and it was a great progression. Seeing some people not on the military wing that Dean is under was interesting, and the tournament fights were very fun. The moving plots, returning some people from the beginning of the series was a very nice touch though! I cannot wait for the larger battles and ramifications of the invasion!
Note: robin is still the best boy, and gets the most unhinged and fun evolutions yet!
