My name is Natalie. He doesn’t call me that, though. He calls me “boss lady” and drives me crazy with his wisecracks. But then…one blizzard. One cabin. One night that changes everything.
At forty, Mason Thompson should know better than to disrupt my carefully ordered world with his easy charm, dimpled smile, and constant joking, especially when I’m stuck training him with the ranch’s prized horses.
I've built a quiet, respected life here, far from the heartbreak that destroyed me in Chicago. I won't let anyone threaten that peace.
Especially not him, even if he is my boss’s new brother-in-law.
Even if my heart races and I dampen in unmentionable places every time we’re near each other.
But when I find him half-frozen during a Christmas Eve blizzard, we're trapped in a remote line cabin where our smoldering mutual attraction ignites into something far more dangerous.
One night of mind-blowing passion leaves us both breathless and shaken.
I knew it was a mistake that should never happen again.
He's too carefree, too unreliable, and I refuse to depend on any man after being abandoned once before.
But when the ranch faces a threat that could destroy everything I've worked to protect, Mason steps up in ways I never expected.
Just when I'm starting to see the real man beneath that charming facade, two pink lines appear and shatter our fragile truce completely.
For readers who read Triplet Trouble For The Beauty’s Beast and wanted a story dedicated to Sam’s brother, Mason, this is it! A standalone unforgettable love story, filled with heart, heat, hope, and an incredible happily ever after.
A well written story, with a lovely slow-build, heartwarming, ranch romance, horses, sweet and spicy scenes, passion, secret desires, warm family banter, humor and a lovely HEA.
After his brother Sam had moved to Wyoming and started a family with Elizabeth (Triplet Trouble For The Beauty's Beast), Mason and his mother had followed them. Mason had always wanted to do something other than the car towing for his brother's car repair garage and though he's not sure what it is, the more time he's spent on their ranch, working in all parts of it, the more he's drawn to the horses. Though the Head (horse) Wrangler always gives him the cold shoulder, he also wouldn't mind getting to know her a bit better but his light hearted nature and jokes seem to just annoy her; and his attraction to her hasn’t gone unnoticed by his brother or his wife.
"You take the long way? Goes right past the south pasture." "The south pasture. That's where Natalie takes her morning rides, isn't it?" I freeze for a second, then shoot Sam a glare. "Big mouth." Sam holds his hands up, grinning. "Didn't say a thing. You’ve got a face like a lovesick teenager every time she walks by. You think nobody notices?"
Natalie has had to work hard to earn the respect, and Head Wrangler position, that she has on the Thunder Basin ranch. She likes the quiet life she's built, away from the noise and heartbreak she had in Chicago. But her boss's new brother-in-law is making things harder for her, though she can't stop thinking about him. But when a storm hits and she finds him frozen in the middle of it, they end up becoming trapped together in a remote cabin, warming each other up; and mutual attraction is acted upon.
The chemistry between Mason and Natalie is fantastic while they try to work out how to work together, and it was lovely to see some more of Liz and Sam (and his mother). I really enjoyed this and look forward to Claire's next romance.

She is head wrangler and has fought tooth and nail to prove herself after fleeing a life as an heiress. He is her boss’s brother in law, new to the ranch trying to find himself. Passion takes over after they are stranded in a a cabin on Christmas Eve after she rescues him and tends to his hypothermia. When the very ranch they both love is threatened beside her in the fight. I absolutely loved their story. I really liked Sam and Liz’s story from book one but this one really knocked it out of the park. It had me in tears multiple times and the humor had me laughing until I cried. Great story. Well done. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by booksprout.
OMG what does someone like me do when they have a whole entire day to sit back and read. You read the most AMAZING, STEAMY, ROMANTIC book ever written by Claire is what you do. If I had an enemy that had blue eyes and looked like the cover and sounded like a HOT sex machine like Mason, I would say count me in he can be my enemy any day of the week. :) This romance book had my heart pounding in my ears, my breathing erratic at times, and my spine tingling with excitement. There is absolutely no way that this book gets a 5/5 stars it gets more like a 10/10 if you ask me.
-A warm, slow-burn ranch romance that blends humor, family, and heartfelt passion. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Mason’s playful charm collides with Natalie’s guarded strength, sparking undeniable chemistry. The snowy cabin scenes sizzle with steam and tenderness, making their bond irresistible.
