The story concludes in Part 3!Will Father, son, husband, brother, Army veteran, Special Ops genius, and friend. As well as, funny, laid back, loving, trustworthy, easygoing, gentle, caring, playful, and intuitive.
Widower.
One event changed Will’s entire being, his entire reality, and threw him onto a path that he had no idea how to maneuver. He became cold, angry, lost, hopeless, vengeful, and spiraled into a place so unrecognizable that he no longer knew himself anymore.
Ava Daughter, artist, friend, kind, beautiful, clever, sweet, reserved, cautious, creative, and always daydreaming of a magical world vividly brought to life in her mind.
Obsession.
One man, one chance encounter, one moment of violence, and Ava’s entire life was no longer her own. She was then controlled, contained, abused, scared, helpless, hopeless, and molded into a madman’s version of perfection.
Both of them were linked by a common enemy, a powerful threat, a helpless situation, and ultimately fate. Leaving them scrambling to piece their lives together, to understand a new reality, and to move on from the pain and torment that would forever alter their paths.
Paths that would cross for the first time and then splinter again.
Two people healing, overcoming, searching, wondering, fighting, growing, hesitant, and unsure of what the future will hold for them. One leaning on his family and learning to love himself again, while the other facing the unknown and intimidating world alone.
Their paths lead them toward one another again, in a much better and stronger way than before, but the journey won’t be any easier than it was before.
I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and it did not disappoint! D Lynnette is queen of a slow burn and this book definitely slow burns well, and the pay off is *chefs kiss* . The developing relationship between Will and Ava has been a focus since the beginning and it’s so good to see it to the foregone conclusion. While the book focuses on Will and Ava, we also get snippets of other beloved characters from the series and that is always satisfying. It is a perfect “happily for now” ending for this couple in the series.
I loved reading this conclusion to Will books. It was definitely a long time coming, but a nice ending. Love that it inluded the entire family, and the send off of Cole going to college, but slightly disappointed that Cole and Aubrey are next in line for a book. But will wait and see.
I’ve been reading this series from the start! The characters and story arcs are compelling. This story is so special and redeeming for a lot of characters involved, and I’m glad to know how their story goes.
