Join Molly as she juggles being a wife, mother, and career woman in the lead up to the silly season. As the holiday madness wreaks havoc upon her life, Molly must navigate her way through a never ending maze of work deadlines, toddler tantrums, school concerts, Christmas parties, shopping, decorating, cooking, dealing with a toxic mother-in-law, and living with a lazy and useless husband. Hayley is an Australian author of light hearted women’s fiction. Hayley was born and bred in Sydney, and lives in Far western Sydney with her partner and two young stepsons. She loves animals (don't all writers), is a coffee addict, and has a wicked sense of humour. Hayley’s sense of humour is brought to life in her story telling. She loves to make women laugh, by writing fun Stories they can relate to.
What a fun romp this was! Though it’s definitely *not* the season to be Molly, I thoroughly enjoyed her chaotic story.
The author, Hayley Walsh, has a delightful sense of humour and has infused it into the story with many laugh-out-loud moments. While Molly juggles kids, colleagues, Christmas prep, a clueless husband and a cranky mother-in-law, we are entertained with her crazy antics.
She leaves a wake of bewildered onlookers as she flies through the chaos, and successfully so, I might add.
A perfect Christmas story for your reading pleasure!
What a fun read. And what a jerk of a husband. This story is full of chaos most women will relate to, especially during the lead up to Christmas. When perimenopause symptoms upend Molly’s life, the craziness of the season goes up a few notches, quite a few. Recommend this to anyone who wants a good laugh, it’s hilarious.
Was lucky enough to get an advance copy to read and so lovely to find a new author this great. This book was so relatable and humorous I totally understand the stresses of the run up to Christmas with kids and just wanted to wrap Molly up in a massive sympathy hug putting up with a useless partner through it all, add in extra family and work colleagues with a sprinkle of brain dead Christmas staff in retail settings and pushy people wanting donations of cake bakes and extra voluntary help for school Christmas events and then make Molly peri menopausal age in an unsympathetic job role this book had me both laughing with and crying with sympathy for poor Molly Will definitely be reading this author again and already recommending to friends fantastic story
The main character is Molly who is likeable and relatable. She is a busy Mum dealing with young children, school issues, a full time job and an inability to say 'no' to the extra demands asked of her in the lead up to Christmas. Combine this with a less than helpful (and totally unlikeable) husband and a not so helpful mother-in-law and Christmas chaos ensues. Some of the situations and issues that arise were a little over the top for me but mostly I feel we can all relate to the chaos in one way or another. All in all this is a good story, easy to read, great for the holidays and which I am happy to recommend.
Hayley is an amazing author. I love her writing, she’s so funny. And Molly is a very relatable character even though I’m not going through the same situation. It’s the scenario of people think they can take on the world and their whole family when it comes down to it we all need to delegate more in life. For our sanity and mental health. This is shown really amazing in Hayley’s book and I highly recommend this book. It’s funny, true to life and makes you want to hug the main character. It’s a hug in book form.
