It was supposed to be one night. Fate had other plans . . .

Anna's not looking for love. Fresh out of a divorce, she needs an escape. One reckless night of fun - and the gorgeous Irishman who buys her a drink at the bar promises exactly that. No last names, no strings, just fireworks.

Liam's used to hiding behind his game face. But after a brutal betrayal and an even messier brawl, he's lost everything: his football career, his team, and his reputation. A one-night stand with a stranger? Just the distraction he needs. He never expected to see Anna again...until she turns out to be his son's new teacher.

Anna knows she shouldn't get involved with a student's father, especially not him. But Liam's not the man the tabloids say he is. He's everything she thought she wasn't ready for. Which makes him so much worse.

I’m so sad this series is over!! I was so excited for Anna’s story and it did not disappoint! Reeling from her divorce, Anna is simply going through the motions and trying to heal. Liam is a single dad and an athlete with a messy past. I loved the way they healed each other and their connection. Liam’s son Finn was also so sweet and I loved seeing the bond between him and Anna. The found family throughout this series is top tier and I loved seeing all of Anna’s friends and their partners in this one. It was hilarious, spicy and a great conclusion to this series! Thank you NetGalley, Tierney Page and the publisher for an eARC.

Y’all, I was in Tierney’s DMs shamelessly begging for this ARC, and I am happily shocked she put up with me. Worth it though, because The Player’s Promise absolutely knocked my socks off. This is the perfect finale to the London Hearts series, and I am unwell with how good Tierney is at mixing plot, feelings, and filth.

Anna is 35, newly divorced, and spiraling in the most relatable way. Liam is 32, a hot footballer single dad with a messy ex and the emotional range of a man written by a woman. Their chemistry is instant, and the emotional growth goes even harder.

Tierney’s sprinkled in jokes had me cackling and the spice was exactly the level of 🔥 I wanted. April and Gemma brought the best “truth hurts” friend energy that forced Anna to stop self sabotaging. Then the ending hit with the reminder that your timeline is your own, and suddenly you are (I am) crying on your (my) couch with all the feels.

A five star, laugh cry swoon finale. Thank you to Tierney and Forever for the ARC. I am devastated to say goodbye to this series, but this was the perfect sendoff.

Liam & Anna

Irish Single Dad with a dirty mouth need i say more?! This book had me hooked. It was way more emotional than the previous two. I was laughing and sobbing my heart out.

Both of them were blindsided by the life they thought they were going to have only to be left wondering how to pick up the pieces and start over.

They had such great chemistry and as always the spice was spicing but I didn't feel like it took away from the plot at all. I enjoyed all the characters and feel like this one was my favourite out of the whole series!

Bonus points go to the girls friendships, their banter and unwavering support for each other was so much fun to read!

I presume you have not found yourself here by chance, you have probably (just like me) enjoyed the first two books in the series and look forward to reading Anna's story and rooting for her to finally get her long deserved HEA. And, in true Tierney style, you'll get all the wonderful, well fleshed out characters, a swoony romance, a golden retriever Irish footballer who falls first and falls HARD, friends who feel like family, wit and banter and, of course, spice that's sizzling! The same easy, seamless, fun writing that we've encountered before, is here and you are guaranteed to be kicking your feet and reading half of this book (at least!) with the biggest smile on your face. Tierney gave me all I was hoping for and actually even more because Liam is 100% flawed perfection and I will not hear otherwise.

So yes, the romance is brilliantly delivered, and even though it stars off as a one night stand, the chemistry is undeniable and when Liam and Anna meet again, their relationship felt very organic and natural and I was fully on board with them declaring their love after just a few short months because it made sense. Liam and Anna both come to this with emotional baggage and a fair amount to unpack, we see some bad decisions but for me, it just made them more flawed and realistic and I was therefore more emotionally invested. Both Liam and Anna's relationship with Finn was lovely to read and it just adds to Liam's perfection how hard he's trying to improve himself and be the best father for Finn. April, Gemma and Max are an amazing and supporting ensemble for Anna and they keep her afloat when she feels like giving up.

A few niggles to note (and this is probably due to the fact that I am a teacher in a private prep school in Central London). If the school is as prestigious as suggested I highly doubt the following:
- Teachers being able to be on their phones at any point during the school day
- Teachers contacting parents (even in an emergency) using their personal phone number
- A Y2 child goes missing and nobody notices for a significant period of time. If Finn was Y5 or Y6 I would say maybe, but at such young age children are just not left unattended.
- The allergy incident. So much focus and care goes into safeguarding children these days (both physically and mentally) it's hard to imagine only one member of staff being aware/ responsible for all the children's info and any food containing nut being allowed on premise. I'm not saying it's impossible, I just fell it would be HIGHLY unlikely.
- Anna being able to leave her class with someone else and just run off in search of Finn for two hours. Hmmmm...
- Anna not meeting Liam from day 1. I don't know how Finn was in school for a whole month before Anna and Liam meet again
- Tash going from being a full time devoted mother and wife to COMPLETELY abandoning Finn? I'm not sure. I get that maybe she was unhappy with Liam and for whatever reason he hadn't realised that they had issues. It's a whole other thing to literally abandon your child to only then go and have another baby with the new man? This didn't feel realistic. And her reaction when Liam called her to tell her Finn was in hospital, is she or is she not a monster and if she is did Liam actually never clocked this?

Ok, enough with the niggles. Overall, this was a jolly good time, I read it in a sitting and Tierney delivered skillfully exactly what the doctor prescribed. I was happy to suspend belief and dive into this and I promise you are going to have a great time reading this! Thank you to Tierney Page, Little, Brown Book Group UK | Sphere and NetGalley for this review copy, all opinions are my own.

*MILD SPOILERS*ARC Copy from NetGalley*

I’ve genuinely loved every book in Tierney Page’s London Hearts series, and this one was no exception. I originally found Tierney on TikTok because her humor is exactly my vibe—she appreciates all things romance, from beautifully emotional to completely unhinged and deliciously smutty, and I was thrilled to see that same voice come through so clearly in her writing. Her debut hooked me instantly (I blazed through it in one sitting that turned into a full-on morning), and she hasn’t let up since. In the words of the woman herself, “Absolute BANGERS”!

This third installment follows Anna, the newly divorced, heart-of-gold angel of our trio of besties. She’s a primary schoolteacher who has always dreamed of having a family of her own, now left picking up the pieces of her broken heart after her ex-husband wasted years of her life without being honest about not wanting children. (Yes, we hate him. Correctly.)

After some much-needed motivation (pep talks and maybe some liquid encouragement) from her best friends, Anna finally gets out of her comfort zone for a night out—and ends up in the arms of a devastatingly handsome Irishman who reminds her of exactly what she’s been missing (multiple O’s). What’s meant to be a perfect one-night memory quickly spirals into something much more complicated when she discovers her mystery man is the father of one of her new students… and not exactly who he said he was. Enter Liam (not the name he gave Anna); professional footballer (rugby for all of us Americans), secret-keeper, and walking temptation with an accent that makes you melt.

Of course, their chemistry is undeniable, and what follows is a forbidden, steamy, can’t-keep-their-hands-off-each-other kind of relationship that will have you kicking your feet and grinning like an idiot.

Both Anna and Liam bring their own baggage from their failed relationships and traumatic childhoods into the mix (because of course they do), and the story takes you through all the highs and lows—healing, vulnerability, fear, and ultimately, love. And while the emotional depth is there, it’s balanced perfectly with some of the hottest scenes I’ve read in a while; mixed perfectly with Tierney’s signature humor of course. I’m not kidding when I say I woke my husband up multiple times laughing (and possibly multiple times from the spicy scene inspo, IYKYK!)

I absolutely adored this book and honestly feel a little sad at the thought that the London Hearts series might be coming to an end. That said, if this is any indication of what’s next, I have zero doubt Tierney will take us on another wildly entertaining, deliciously spicy, and heartfelt ride with a whole new cast of characters; and I’ll be first in line to devour it.

“I would’ve waited forever for you.”

Yall. He calls her angel. That’s all that needs to be said.

Ok, but actually moving on, there’s quite a bit to unpack with this one. There’s something easy and sweet about the London Hearts series and that’s why I keep coming back for them. That being said, I cannot say they are the most amazing books ever. They are sweet, they make me smile, they make me laugh, and they make me cringe in the “oh this is so cute” way, but they have flaws. However, I didn’t want to put this book down until I finished and I LOVE ME a sports romance and single dad, put that together and you have a happy reader lol.

Now, I will say there came a point where the spice was too much for me. I don’t mind spice, I don’t search for it, but I don’t mind it BUT when over half the book is smut then there begins to be problems because at that point it becomes boring and you begin to search for the actual plot. In addition I found Anna rather annoying (as I usually do) and unreasonable but other than that this really was a good book

Moving in, to talk about Liam….(which lemme just quickly say these books have the most generic names ever it makes me laugh I love it) he had me hooked. He was caring, protective (perhaps too much but hey we all have flaws), and he loved with his entire soul. BUT THEN, he made the biggest mistake of admitting the most horrendous secret I done ever heard….HE HATES PIZZA. Lolll jkjk that’s not horrendous but that scene where she was like “who hates pizza??” I felt that, and honestly I don’t know why, but knowing that made me connect further with him and although I disagree with the stance I truly do like Liam’s character. I like the way he treats Anna and I LOVE him with his son.

Also I LOVE how much the trio and their patterns were in this one because the trio is what makes this book and overall series so warm. I loved them all (Gemma’s such a real one I love her) and they got Anna through the hard times when she really needed it.

Now, I’m gonna wrap this up but before I do….THEY
A NOTTING HILL MOMET OMG. A FREAKING NOTTING HILL MOMENT, NOTTING HILL IS OKE OF MY MOST FAVORITE MOVIES OH MY GOODNESS. Now, I had a love hate relationship with this scene bc wtf u mean u stealing from one of my fave movies but at the same time awww ur drawing from one of my fave movies 😭

I am a huge fan of Tierney’s and of The London Heart Series and I am so so happy I got the chance to read an early copy of this ! The Player’s Promise is a steamy second chance, forbidden romance following Liam and Anna.

Liam is an Irish footballer and a single dad who just moved to London for a fresh start, following a dramatic breakup of both his romantic and professional relationships. Anna, a recently divorced school teacher looking for some no strings attached fun, draws his attention and they engage in a spicy one night stand. Little do they know that their little tryst comes with significantly more complications since Anna is then revealed as Liam’s son’s school teacher!

I was really engaged with the storyline and the characters and I read this in one uninterrupted sitting. There is plenty of spice (maybe even a bit much at times) which is to be expected from Tierney’s books and I really enjoyed the found family element and all the different friendships showcased. As a final book in the series, this was great and I am looking forward to see what Tierney comes up with next! I also am a big fan of the main characters being in their mid 30s as I can really relate with this age group and I don’t see it represented very often.

Whilst this is a spicy and easy read, there are plenty of more serious themes present, reflected especially in some of the things Anna and Liam’s son experience at the school. I am not sure all of these elements needed to be quite so explicit at times and I would definitely check the trigger warnings. Given the London setting, I was a bit distracted at times given that some of the terms used or the wording were not British but this could be easily fixed for the final copy.

The London Hearts series by Tierney Page is such a fun time. (If you don’t follow her on social media, do yourself a favor and add her immediately.) Tierney’s witty personality and love of all things spice comes through in her writing style, and I’m here for it. For this debut series, the friend group and banter between them is just as good as the love stories.

The Player’s Promise is the third book in the series and though it’s about two people who are trying to rebuild their lives after being emotionally wrecked, the fun banter between the core friend group continues to be a delight and remains a huge part of the story. (Seriously made me laugh out loud several times.) I liked both Anna and Liam, though found myself frustrated with Anna multiple times. Both went on emotional journeys and had their own demons to fight, but I felt Anna was unreasonable at times. That said, perhaps I was more emotionally invested in Liam, because, well…who wouldn’t be?

Liam was a top tier fictional boyfriend. He checked all the important boxes for me. Professional athlete…touch her a die…romantic gestures… While I don’t normally like the single dad trope, leave it to Tierney to have me fully invested and enjoying every moment. Liam is a fantastic dad and I loved his relationship with Finn. That part of the story was interesting, warm and sometimes heartbreaking. The whole dynamic grounded the story in the best way. I also really loved the relationship between Anna and Finn. It was a satisfying and touching part of the story.

I’ve loved seeing Tierney’s growth as a writer throughout this series. The books are fun, quick reads, that are just the right palate cleanser I need between the darker, romantasy genre books I normally read.

Overall, I enjoyed this one and am looking forward to the author’s next book.

Special thanks to NetGalley, Forever (part of Grand Central Publishing), and Tierney Page for sending me this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Liam is SO filthy!!! 💕

The promo for this book promised filth, and Tierney did not disappoint. The dirty talk on Liam is incredible, plus he’s such a sweetheart but also huge and Irish and a famous football player. AND at the end of the day he’s a deeply committed family man — loves his son, and always wants to do the right thing by the people he loves.

Anna is a primary school teacher, going through heartbreak, and recovering from the fact that her marriage/life has not turned out to be what she thought it would be. She really wants to be a mother and is facing the prospect of having a baby solo. But after months of wallowing she is forced into having a girls night out, and meets a sexy Irishman…

There are so many funny moments in this book — I love the friendship between the 3 besties, and pretty devo this series is over now because Anna, Gemma and April feel like my actual mates now.

On a serious note, I really love the way this book explores men’s violence against other men, mental health, and the impacts of childhood trauma on men’s violence. And also what it should look like when men properly sort their shit (“shite”) out and take responsibility for their own behaviour. Plus also exploring this is the context of football culture was a really interesting move by the author.

There has been a positive cultural shift in the UK and Australia around taking a zero tolerance approach to violence in sport, but there hasn’t been enough of a shift around men’s mental health and supporting men to seek help when they need it. The Player’s Promise could almost be a playbook for how men can engage in self-reflection and should be able to seek help.

So yeah, really this book has everything — dirty talk, sexy Irishman, fun besties, laughs, true love, found family, and important social commentary on men’s violence and mental health! Many boxes ticked.

Thanks so much to Hachette Australia and NetGalley for a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Anna has finalised her divorce from Mason, he changed his mind about having children and a family is all she ever wanted. Meanwhile in Dublin Liam has just found his long term girlfriend and mother of his son, Finn, packing and leaving him for his team mate. Heartbroken and angry he lashes out, ending his career in Ireland and leading to a move to London. On her birthday night out she hooks up with Liam for a one night stand. But then she ends up being Finn’s teacher and the pull between Liam and Anna is undeniable.

This is the second of the London Hearts book I’ve read (I read the Suite Secret) and the third in the series of standalone interlinked books. In each you get glimpses of the main characters from each book.

Set in London (but written by an Aussie author), the use of “realtor” really took me out of the book in chapter one. It’s a letting agent in the UK. I suppose at least it was referred to as a flat, apartment would have been a step too far! Anna is a teacher, but part way through is threatened with losing her “teacher licence”. I’ve been a teacher in England since 2003. Wtf is a teacher licence? An absolute nonsense. Not a thing in England. She could have her QTS revoked, although not by the school. Getting things wrong about the career I have in media is an absolute bugbear of mine so this took me straight out of the story. BBC Sport isn’t an actual channel either, it’s a red button thing. Honestly, I just wish they’d got someone from the UK to read it through, maybe someone who teaches here too. These errors could so easily have been avoided.

The story itself is enjoyable, the characters likeable with a HEA and some spicy scenes. There are emotional themes, for Anna, Liam and Finn, which are handled well. And it ultimately has an uplifting story. I will definitely read more from the author.

When i thought Max and Gemma were everything, Anna, Liam and Finn came along and left me obsessed. They had me hooked, all the way from the start till the end. I did not want to put it down. Everything about them was simply amazing.
The tropes had me excited; from single dad to the forbiddenness, I loved it all.
I laughed, I swooned, I kicked my feet, I got all hot and bothered, safe to say I felt everything.

Oh sweet Anna. I absolutely adored her. She just want someone she can have a family with, and have a sense of security and belonging with. She just wants to be happy, and glad Finn and Liam came into her life.
She's an amazing teacher, sister and best friend too. Always being supportive, caring and there for everyone.

Liam was caring, overprotective, and always supportive. He just wants to be a perfect, present and amazing dad to Finn after what happened, and he's doing a good job at it.
He's also obsessed and down bad for Anna, just like Tierney's other MMCs. And the dirty mouth on him, he's literally so hot.

I'll never get tired of obsessing over their friendship group. Their trio is literally phenomenal, i'm obsessed with how caring and supportive they are of each other, and constantly having each other's back. Plus also serving as a comic relief, they never cease to make me laugh.

I can't believe this series is over, it's like a bitter sweet feeling. But I'm also super excited for what's to come next!

As soon as I saw this book on NetGalley, I knew i needed to apply. I have been a big fan of Tierney Page for ages.

The Players Promise is Book 3 in The London Hearts series and follows the story of Anna and Liam.

This book starts of with a bang, football star Liam is thrown of his soccer team after beating the crap out of fellow player Adam, who had been sneaking around with Liam's partner Tash for over a year, to make things worse, Liam now has to relocate to London, along with his son Finn, who's mother hasn't even bother to call, and start their lives a new.

Anna, has had to pack her whole life up and move out of what she thought was going to be her forever home, after she discovers her husband has been hiding the fact the he no longer wants to have children for the past 4 years of their marriage.

Both need a night out, some drinks and a little fun. One night can't hurt anything, can it?

But when Liam walks into his sons classroom and discovers the lovely Anna just so happens to be his son Finn's new teacher. the sparks start flying and it's only a matter of time before someone gets burned. Especially when parent/teacher relationships are banned and Liam already has a reputation for being volatile. Will Anna risk the only thing that has kept her going? her career.

I loved the witty banter in this, Anna's best friends Gemma and April had me laughing out loud, especially Gemma.
Absolute gems like "-My vagina betrays me, waking from her slumber. Zip it back up girl." were hysterical.
It was also really nice and refreshing to read a story about characters in their 30's,

I have but one complaint about this book, and that is the MMC happens to have the same name as one of my sons, which, I'm not going to lie, made the spicy scenes a tad awkward, so in my head, I read the whole book calling our MMC Leo.

Tierney Page's "The Player's Promise" is a stellar single-dad romance. I could not put this book down. Liam (MMC) is everything. He's an Irish footballer and certified hottie who falls first and hard with Anna (FMC) after a one-night stand. Liam left the morning after without so much as a word, even though they blew each other's minds. Little does he know, he is soon going to be reunited with her..... because she is his son Finn's teacher! This book has a little bit of everything: drama, unresolved trauma, football shenanigans, schoolyard bullying, swoony declarations, spicy spice, great friend groups, and delicious banter and jokes. I laughed quite a bit while reading this. I thought Anna and Liam were both excellent characters, both together and separately. I loved Anna's fierce protectiveness over her students, especially Finn. I loved Liam's dedication to his son, the close bond they had made my heartstrings tug and tug and tug, especially considering everything Finn's horrible mother put him through. Together, Anna and Liam have electric chemistry with one another, and they can't seem to keep away from each other. The yearning between them is great! The respective friend group interactions are also fun. The interactions between Anna and her gals and Liam and his mates (even via text!) make for some hilarious happenings! This might be a little bit long, but I was enjoying it so much that it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of it. I need to go back and read the other books in this series!

Thank you to NetGalley, Tierney Page, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

2.5 stars (rounded up to 3)

on paper, i knew i would have liked the player’s promise. it includes some of my favourite tropes, including the single dad, teacher/student’s parent, forbidden romance etc. also had some good mental health rep, so i’ll give that credit. the plot also sounded like it would be right up my alley, and it was, but unfortunately, the amount of spicy scenes just took away from it.

look, i’m never gonna say no to reading more smut. but when a huge chunk of the book is just spicy scenes which add nothing to the plot (they could be taken out and nothing would change), it becomes less enjoyable. the first actual spicy scene was good, and it felt like the characters had nice chemistry, but by the time it came to the fourth, fifth and sixth…yeah, i was bored and mentally checked out.

anna and liam were actually such interesting characters, and i liked them as individuals, but i felt their relationship progressed a little too quickly. i feel like if we’d actually seen them be friends and go on dates, instead of the spicy scenes, that would have just added to their chemistry. i did want to like their relationship, but by the time the second half of the book rolled around, their chemistry had all but fizzled out for me. i did enjoy reading them interacting with finn, liam’s son and i wish we had more scenes of this trio just hanging out and chilling.

i will say, though, this book had some nice angst. it tugged at my heartstrings, and i felt so much for what the characters were going through. overall, while the player’s promise wasn’t for me, i am excited to see what tierney page is gonna write next!

thank you forever for sending me an e-arc!

I have read Tierneys other 2 books and still adore her friendship group 🥰 its probably the best part of her writing style and I want part of it!

Watch the pair grow together as they feel much more than the sexual chemistry increase🔥
We have a few other side stories going on but I dont want to spoil anything.
Well, quite a lot to unpack in this read, early spice which continues throughout the story. Maybe even dare I say it too much at times! Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed the phone scene very much.
This book had lots going on and lots of side characters/stories, for me it felt too long and with too much going on at times.
I would still recommend this series though, decent read 📚

ARC Review

3.75⭐️

Liam Murphy is a footballer in Dublin with a bit of a temper problem. When his relationship goes up in flames, he’s forced to move to a new team in London along with his 8 year old son Finn.
Anna is a primary school teacher fresh out of a messy divorce. A chance encounter and a steamy one night stand between them is just what they both need, only to later find out that Anna is Finn’s new teacher.

I have been a fan of the authors content for a while and have not read her other books yet so was very excited to read this, and it did not disappoint!
It’s an Incredibly sweet romance with a lot of spice, but also explores some heavy themes around assault and mental health which I really enjoyed.

The ending is very “rom-com” which was very sweet, but did feel like a bit of a tonal shift compared the the rest of the book, but hey, I’m not bad about it.

——————minor spoiler alert———————-
One gripe I did have was that towards the end of the book, quite a big deal is made on two occasions about them being in love/declaring to the world that they are in love, however they had already told each other that they loved each other which made these declarations and the resulting actions feel pointless. If they hadn’t already said “I love you”, these moments would have been more hard hitting.
———————————————————————-

I really enjoyed this, and will definitely be going back to read the other two in the series!

Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown Books for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

This is one of those books that you simply fall into. You start by reading the premise and then decide to see what it's like...and before you know it, it's chapter seven or maybe even just four, you're totally in love with the MMC and wait, is this also promising to be spicy?! You're grabbing your copy to pay on the way out.

Well, not exactly. In my case it was more like thank you to Netgalley and Forever publishing for the lovely ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I can't remember the last time I read a sports romance that felt this thrilling and suspenseful (not necessarily in a crime-y way but like will-they won't-they). I loved that it was set in England and focused on footwall (as in soccer for most American readers), which can be a brutal sport with tons of injuries and competitiveness.

Anna and Liam were both so broken and yet so wonderfully healing in each other's company. The spice seemed abundant and enjoyable, and complimented their dynamic as a couple. The only thing I want to add is that the book starts off with a really loud list of trigger warnings that almost made me turn back. When in reality I felt like many of those crazy labels seemed just something in passing or barely even there. So, don't scare off too easily on this!

I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series when it comes out.

The Players Promise - book 3 in the London Hearts series. Wow, easy 5 stars from me. I devoured this in 2 days. Tierney Page you’ve done it again! I was lucky enough to be given my second ARC from Net Galley for Tierney’s series, and boy was I ecstatic.

I was so excited to read the story of Anna, after the ending of book 2 and her divorce being mentioned, I wanted her to have the happy ending she deserved. And this did not disappoint.

The spice was perfect and mouthwatering. The love you felt from Anna and Liam, it was captured perfectly. The trauma Liam was going through since childhood, the abandonment, and the way he handled his son Finn’s trauma, it was so emotional. And Anna finally coming back out of her shell and finding herself resonated with me DEEPLY. Coming out of a long term relationship and feeling broken, but slowly healing yourself in ways like going out with your girls, finding love again, being successful and doing the things you find pockets of happiness in. Tierney described it all perfectly. Anna got everything she deserved and MORE.

And a special mention to Gemma, the comedy aspect from her flowed through all 3 books perfectly. She is the perfect character, literally had me laughing out loud at some of the sarcastic comments! She sounds like my kind of girl!

This was the perfect ending to the London Hearts series, and I’m gutted it’s over. But I’m excited to see what’s coming next from Tierney. She’s an absolutely unbelievable author. In Tierney we trust!!

Look, I opened this book thinking I’d read a couple of chapters before bed… and suddenly it was 3am, I was emotionally compromised, and Liam had become my entire personality. So yes, Tierney Page strikes again.

This final instalment in the London Hearts series gives us:
• an Irish single dad who is unfairly attractive
• a recently divorced teacher who just wanted a little fun (oops)
• a one‑night stand that turns into “oh no… you teach my child”
• found family chaos
• spice levels that could power a small city
• and enough emotional whiplash to qualify as cardio

Liam? Top‑tier fictional boyfriend material. Professional athlete, soft dad energy, romantic gestures, and the kind of “touch her and die” vibe that really speaks to my soul. His relationship with Finn was warm, sweet, and occasionally heartbreaking.. honestly some of my favourite moments in the whole book.

Anna? I loved her, even when I wanted to gently shake her like a snow globe. She and Liam both go through real emotional growth, and watching them navigate their mess was half the fun.

The friendships and found family elements? Elite. This friend group could carry an entire spin‑off series on their backs and not break a sweat.

As a finale, it wraps the series up in a way that feels satisfying, spicy, and surprisingly wholesome. It’s quick, fun, and the perfect palate cleanser between darker reads; basically the book equivalent of a warm hug and a shot of tequila at the same time.

Huge thanks to NetGalley, the Publisher, and Tierney for the eARC. I devoured it in one sitting and regret nothing.

The Player's Promise was the ultimate trifecta — single dad, Irish accent, professional footballer. I mean, come on now! I have never cared about football… until Liam freaking Murphy.

After experiencing so much of Anna’s story throughout the first two books, The Player's Promise feels even sweeter as we watch her pick herself up, rebuild her self-esteem, and finally start receiving everything she’s always dreamed of. The girl even gets her own Notting Hill moment! Anna, you are giving me hope, babe.

Our girl squad is back in full force, delivering the wild banter, hard truths, and ultimate friendship goals we’ve fallen in love with. We also get more of Max as the loving older brother, along with Tierney’s signature witty humour sprinkled throughout.

And Liam — a man who desperately wants the same things Anna does. When they both feel like they’ve lost almost everything, they find each other and slowly work their way back to themselves… and to each other.

The audio for this is going to absolutely slap. Imagine hearing a hot Irish accent saying things like: grand, shite, aye, baby and his seven year old son saying, da. My ovaries will literally explode listening to that!!

- professional football player x school teacher
- teacher x parent
- she's English x he's Irish
- forbidden romance
- set in London
- single dad
- one night stand
- divorced FMC

I absolutely loved The Player’s Promise! I’ll be honest I was a little nervous going in after the second book, but this one completely blew me away.

Anna and Liam are everything! I loved that they’re both older and that this story really represents women in their 30s who feel like they might be “behind” in life. It felt so real and relatable in a way you don’t always see in romance.

Liam… ugh. He completely stole my heart. The way his mental health struggles were handled and how he actually gets help meant so much. And the way he loves his son Finn? Stop. He’s such a good dad and you can really see him trying to break those cycles. It made me love him even more.

The chemistry between Anna and Liam was amazing, and their story just felt so real like it could actually happen to you. That’s one of my favorite things about Tierney’s writing.

I also loved getting more of the friendship between April, Gemma, and Anna. Their bond is so special and honestly made me wish I had a friend group like that in real life.

And of course, Tierney’s humor shines through so perfectly. You can really tell she’s just as funny in her books as she is on TikTok, which makes her stories feel even more genuine.

This was the perfect ending to the series, and I already can’t wait to see what she writes next!

We need to talk about Liam, because this man is a bundle of green flags. The love he has for Finn is so strong and absolute, it’s the perfect example of unwavering fatherly love. His son is the center of his world, and you feel that in every interaction. I genuinely don’t understand how Finn’s mom could walk away from both of them the way she did.

Then there’s the way Liam cares for Anna. He is thoughtful with her emotions and intentional in how he shows up for her. It’s not just what he says, it’s what he does. Because of how he treats her, you can see Anna naturally begin to care for Finn just as deeply as she does for Liam, and that connection felt so genuine and earned.

Anna’s friends were another highlight. The support they give her and the little pieces of wisdom they share throughout the story added so much warmth. At the same time, the other side characters clearly serve a purpose. You can sense where the tension will come from, and there’s this quiet anticipation building as you wait for it to unfold.

I couldn’t put this book down. It was so full of heart and compassion, with a love that doesn’t happen all at once, but grows steadily day by day into something strong, lasting, and deeply rooted. I received this as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

5 Stars! 10/10.

This book absolutely delivered, an emotional, addictive read and honestly an absolute banger, just as I expected. Tierney Page has such a talent for balancing heart, humour, and heat, and this book showcases all of it perfectly.

What really stood out to me were the raw, vulnerable moments woven throughout the story. The emotional beats felt genuine and relatable, and several scenes hit surprisingly close to home. Watching the characters grow individually and together was incredibly satisfying. The character development felt natural, earned, and deeply engaging, making it impossible not to become fully invested in their journey.

And yes… the spice? Incredible. Perfectly paced and emotionally grounded, adding depth to the romance rather than overshadowing it.

One of my favourite parts of this book, though, was the friendships. The girls are absolute friendship goals supportive, chaotic in the best way, and endlessly entertaining. The banter is sharp, funny, and feels so authentic that it made me laugh out loud more than once.
I’m genuinely sad to see this series come to an end because these characters have felt like home. That said, I’ll be eagerly waiting (and honestly holding my breath) for whatever Tierney writes next. I’ll be reading it immediately.

Let me start this by saying it is NOT a cosy, fluffy romance where the pointiest part of the plot is a slight miscommunication.

No. Absolutely not. Tierney Page writes with the punch of realistic happenings and more ups and downs than my cellulite-ridden thighs. It was dramatic. It was consistent. It was seasoned and cooked as perfect as a rump steak at a small-town RSL famous for its $7.99 Moscato night. Perfection 👌

Anna - I loved Anna. She needed to get out of her own way but thankfully she has April and Gemma there to pull her head out of her proverbial and get her back on track! Those girls are the best! And we do love Max 😍

Liam - Well. What’s not to love about a filthy-mouthed Irishman single dad and plays soccer?! (I am HANGING for the audiobook purely to hear Liam come to life, just sayin’) 😏 🥵

I LOVED this book. The spice was immaculate and I loved that Tierney’s sense of humour that we have all come to know and love was sprinkled throughout the book - even in slightly serious moments. It made it so realistic and engaging to read. Just magic!

Thank you to Tierney Page, Hachette and NetGalley for the opportunity to enjoy this fine ass Irishman early - you made a girls dream come true and I hope your pillow is always a comfortable temperature 👌 All opinions are honest and completely my own doing.

I love a single dad romance, especially when he's emotionally intelligent and absolutely down bad for her.

Anna is newly divorced from a husband that didn't want kids. Liam is a newly single dad to a 7-year-old son whose mom decided she was done with both of them for no reason at all. After their one-night stand, Liam's son turns out to be Anna's new student, and they decide to make it a multi-night stand instead, with no feelings or commitment, of course.

This one dives a bit deeper than the other books in the series, tackling issues of mental health related to childhood trauma, and I feel like it was handled well. I like that the characters felt real and flawed, and the connection between them is palpable, even if the spicy scenes do get a bit redundant. There's a strong found family, mature adult MCs, and the son is the most adorable kid ever.

I love the representation that SA can happen to men and women, but the villains both feel like caricatures of aggressors, and I think a bit more nuance would have made the point hit harder. The same applies to the Notting Hill scene, which feels forced, and distracts from the story rather than adding to it. The rest is a spicy fun time and I would definitely recommend for anyone without SA triggers.

I received this as an eARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

ARC Review -

This one had me hooked from the first chapter and refusing to put my Kindle down. What starts as a carefree, no-strings-attached night quickly spirals into something so much messier—and so much more addictive.

Anna and Liam’s chemistry? Immediate. Intense. The kind that feels like a bad idea you know you shouldn’t entertain… but absolutely can’t resist. I loved that Anna wasn’t chasing anything serious—she just wanted an escape—and somehow ended up tangled in the last situation she ever expected.

And Liam… he is not your typical broody love interest. He’s flawed, complicated, and carrying a lot more damage than he lets on. The layers to his character made every interaction feel charged, especially once their worlds collide in the worst (best?) possible way. The tension after that reveal? Unreal.

What really stood out was how the story balanced emotional depth with that addictive, can’t-look-away drama. It’s not just romance—it’s consequences, messy decisions, and two people trying to navigate something they absolutely shouldn’t want… but do anyway.

If you love:
✨ forbidden romance vibes
✨ one-night stand to “oh no, not again”
✨ emotionally messy, layered characters
✨ tension that keeps building chapter after chapter
✨ a MMC with baggage and attitude

This book delivers all of it and more. It’s complicated, a little chaotic, and completely binge-wor

This is Book 3 in the London Hearts series. I have read Books 2 & 3. Look forward to reading book 1. They're interconnected standalones, so you can read them alone, but I highly recommend them all!!! 😍

I loved Liam & Anna's story!! Swoon!! It's fast paced & hilarious & steamy & just perfect. 😍 The characters are so fun.

A favorite LOL 😂 scene - (Max, Anna's brother, & Gemma from Book 2) are going with Anna to find Liam at a TV interview & they are running:
...We fling our doors open & bolt.
"Oi, you can't park there!" an inspector calls out.
"You can't handle the truth!" Gemma yells over her shoulder.
I'm running so fast I have to cup my chest to keep my boobs from giving me a black eye. It's very romantic.
...... Two security guards are positioned at the station's entrance, stepping forward when they see us approaching.
"This is a restricted area," the taller one says, raising his hand. "You can't just -"
"Oof!" Gemma barrels straight through him, taking him out. They hit the ground with a loud smack and Max and I both freeze, mouths agape. LOL 😂😂😂😂😂

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I must say this was the perfect finale to the London Hearts series and also to close out my birthday month of reads.

Thank you Netgalley and Tierney Page for allowing me the chance to read this book!

At first I was hesitant in the beginning because it was I personally feel really quick on the 🌶 BUT it was the perfect setup! I hear about the drunk after relationship hookups a lot. I mean it's 2 people heart broken and just looking to shut of their thoughts and hearts. The 🌶 was so good they kept thinking about it, lol.

I had a moment like that and then I married the guy! 😆 My 4 year relationship broke and on a night full of drinks and dancing I met a guy. This book made me think, judge, question, relate, understand, laugh, agree, basically all the feels.

Liam and Anna had their ups and down separately and together, but they wanted the best for each other and were looking for love. It is heavy on the 🌶 but there is drama sprinkled along the way.

☘️ Parent/teacher
☘️ Harassment
☘️ Broken hearts club

The details on the harassment and how that was handled was superb. I love how Liam came to the recuse. Also, the love that Anna has for not only Finn but all her students is gorgeous.

The HEA was perfect and I am glad that at the end even Finn was able to smile.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of The Player’s Promise by Tierney Page.

Tierney Page truly does it again. Just when I thought she couldn’t top the London Hearts series, she delivers Anna and Liam’s story—and it might just be the best yet.

Liam, a football player and devoted single dad, completely stole my heart with his golden retriever energy and the depth shaped by his tragic childhood. Anna’s journey hit just as hard—navigating heartbreak, the loss of her marriage, and the future she once dreamed of, especially her hopes of becoming a mother. And Finn? Easily one of the sweetest characters ever written—he just wants to be loved, and you feel that in every scene.

What really stood out was the character development. Watching Anna and Liam grow individually and together made me feel everything, and that emotional payoff at the end? Absolute chef’s kiss.

It wouldn’t be a London Hearts book without Gemma and April—the definition of ride-or-die friends—and Max deserves a special mention for being the supportive big brother Anna needed.

I’m genuinely sad to say goodbye to this series, but if this is the finale, Tierney Page saved the best for last. The Player’s Promise was everything I wanted and more.
