DI Jemima Huxley Thrillers #1-7
Detective Jemima Huxley Mysteries, Books 1-7
Even in the safest places, Detective Jemima Huxley knows evil finds a way in.
Meet Detective Inspector Jemima Huxley. With a background in psychology and a kickboxer’s discipline, she gets into the mind of a killer better than anyone else on the Cardiff force. Brilliant under pressure, loyal to her team, and relentless in the pursuit of truth, Jemima has earned her rank the hard way. But beneath her controlled surface lies a woman battling infertility and a strained marriage.
South Wales. A place of remote valleys, sweeping coastlines, and quiet, close-knit towns. It’s natural beauty and historic charm draws people in from all over. But Detective Jemima Huxley knows a different side to this idyllic landscape — a much darker one — where unimaginable horrors lurk behind even the most picturesque scenes.
Included in this seven-book box set:
Book 1: The Cardiff Killings
A heatwave scorches the city as Jemima is called to a grim discovery in woodland. But when a second body surfaces, she knows this is only the beginning.
Book 2: The Briarmarsh Close Killings
A family is torn apart in a brutal home invasion. What starts as a clear-cut case spirals into a maze of lies, silence, and buried trauma.
Book 3: The Caerphilly Mountain Killings
A young woman vanishes near a remote mountain road. As Jemima digs deeper, the past and present collide with devastating consequences.
Book 4: The Leighton Meadow Killings
A young woman is found dead in the village church. Shot through the heart with a crossbow. Leighton Meadow was supposed to be a safe place. But this is a village with many hidden secrets.
Book 5: The Marquess Club Killings
Behind the doors of an exclusive gentlemen’s club, power and privilege conceal a deadly conspiracy.
Book 6: The Rhymney Valley Killings
A community in shock. A mutilated body in the hills. The killer leaves no trace — and time is running out before they strike again.
Book 7: The Boy in the Reeds
A child makes a horrific discovery near a quiet riverbank. As Jemima investigates, the case dredges up ghosts from her own past.

Like Gaynor, Jemima has a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Though, apart from them both having a keen interest in human behaviour, that’s where any similarity ends.

Excellent storylines, engaging and thrilling
Jemma Huxley loved her job as a DI. Unfortunately, due to problems with her Mother and the fact of trying to get pregnant via IVF she was on a downward spiral via self harming.
These stories let you follow her life and career while working to free herself from this harmful behaviour. It is well written, letting you are glimpses of her home life, without it overtaking the excellent crime stories, ranging from murder to rape and false imprisonment.
I was a bit, well a lot sceptical when I was reading the first story. Thinking it would be one of those woe is me, feeling sorry for herself and putting blame all round. Couldn't have been more wrong.
Gaynor gives full character to her subjects and criminal element, but again, it adds rather than ruins the storylines.
This is my 2nd set of books from Gaynor and I will, happily, but more.

seven of the best
What a treat to be able to download seven books in the Jemima Huxley mysteries it gives the reader the opportunity to really get to know the characters and their relationships. It helps that the storylines are credible and at times harrowing, each book leaves questions unanswered and are picked up with the next book in the series.
A great series and I’m sure the following books will keep me as attentive as these seven have, heartily recommend you download them, you won’t be disappointed.
