At eighteen, ๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ left ๐ก๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ with a broken heart and a pregnancy test kit that had her mind crashing out over a dude she wasnโt even sure about. She swore sheโd never come back.
Seven years later, life drags her homeโwith more baggage than she left with and one thing sheโll protect at all costs.
๐๐ฒ๐๐ used to be the cityโs beautiful problemโa handsome, low-life thug hardened by Jerseyโs cold streets. Now heโs hood-rich and in charge, a boss whose name carries weightโfeared by some, respected by most. He told himself he was over ๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ. Then she walks back in and every old feeling wakes up like it never slept.
Their pull is instant. So are the scars. ๐ง๐ฟ๐๐๐ never came easy for either of themโjealousy, lies, and street grudges donโt make space for clean second chances. But the truth about why ๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ left wonโt stay buried forever.
Because the secret sheโs been keeping isnโt just about the past. Itโs about the futureโthe child he never knew existed.
Suddenly โusโ means more than late nights and heated words. It means co-parenting in a city that weaponizes weakness, choosing forgiveness when pride feels safer, and guarding a love thatโs always been dangerousโnow with something priceless in the middle.

If you're looking for a family drama that balances romance with genuine sisterly bonds, "Baby Daddy Issues" delivers an engaging multi-perspective tale that will keep you invested in the Monroe family's journey.
"Baby Daddy Issues" follows the Monroe sisters as they navigate love, self-discovery, and long-buried family secrets. The story employs multiple first-person POVs, a choice that works particularly well given the complex web of interconnected plots. Each sister's perspective introduces new storylines while maintaining connected subplots that tie the narrative together cohesively.
The Monroe sisters, Ashanti, Syncere, and Choyce, are distinctly different personalities shaped by shared family trauma. What makes this book shine is the authentic bond between these women. They don't always see eye to eye, but their mutual respect and admiration creates some of the most compelling moments in the story. You can feel their loyalty leap off the page, making their individual journeys more meaningful because of how they support each other.
While we experience the story through all three perspectives, only Syncere and Choyce receive full romantic arcs. Ashanti's relationship is already established and stable, which actually provides a nice contrast to her sisters' developing love stories and shows different stages of romantic relationships.
The plot-driven approach keeps the story moving at a good pace, and the character development feels genuine rather than forced. The author succeeds in creating well-rounded personalities that feel like real people dealing with real issues.
However, the book suffers from a significant structural flaw: repeated scenes shown from different perspectives. While I understand the intention is to add depth by showing how events impact various characters, these repetitions feel more like padding than meaningful insight. Rather than enhancing the story, they slow down the momentum and can feel tedious for readers.
Despite the repetitive scene issue, "Baby Daddy Issues" follows a satisfying story arc where protagonists find their happily ever after and antagonists face consequences for their actions. The family drama elements are engaging, and the romance feels earned rather than rushed.
This standalone novel will appeal to readers who enjoy multi-POV family sagas, contemporary romance with strong family dynamics, and stories about women supporting each other through difficult times. If you can overlook the occasional repetitive scenes, you'll find an enjoyable story about love, family, and healing.
Deniseโs Review of Baby Daddy Issues A Second Chance Romance
This was an excellent book with an exceptional storyline. This book is about three sisters, Ashanti, Syncere, and Choyce. It tells about their losses, the loves that they find, and second chances with love. Hidden secrets about family and who they really are. This book talks about three sisters and how they supported each other through the good times and the bad times, and how the three men in their lives helped and defended, supported them, and loved them unconditionally. Read the book to find out what happens to Ashanti and whether she and Mel will ever get married. Read the book and find out what happened between Syncere and Keyz and what surprise Syncere brings home. Read the book to find out what happens to Choyce in her life and if she ever gets the man he had a crush on when she was in high school. Read to find out what happens between Choyceโs ex-boyfriend, Pyroโs siser, Tammy, and whether Choyce ever recovers from the devastation that happened. Also, the book talks about who Uncle Mike is, but the sisters learn about their Father and why he left them when they were young. Read the book, and you will be surprised at the things that happened in the book and what the sisters felt. I give this book a five-star and it is a must-read book.
DNF 17%. The book just isnโt naturally flowing to me. I didnโt like the writing. Very dramatic.
Example: Looking over at the entrance, I spotted Ashanti, glowing, standing with two younger women flanking her. My chest hit my stomach before my brain caught up. Heartbeat spiked, blood rushed in my ears. My chest tightened like a vise. Breathing shallow, quick. Adrenaline snapped me upright. Syncere. Choyce was next to her. The room went silent in my head. Everything elseโthe laughter, the bass, the smokeโfaded. Syncere laughed at something Ashanti said. Long, thick, wavy hair fell past her shoulders, sharp eyes, high cheekbones, full lips. A woman who knew exactly who she was.
Then the forced argument between Choyce and Dame. Itโs was very much forced and not a natural argument. I wish I would explain a natural flow vs a force issue by the author but I canโt. It just doesnโt make sense or clearly it wasnโt a real issue it was just written to create drama for the book. When it flows naturally the build is from book 1. And the MMC finding out about his daughter was the most predictable thing ever. I called the whole scene as soon as Choyce and Syncere discussed going to the mall.
Syncere was the girl who didn't both no one, but everybody had a problem with her. Choyce is the baby of the family and she has hands. Talking about her family and anybody can get it. Ashanti is the mother figure/ big sister who made sure they have everything not asking for nothing in return. Kenan aka Keyz, he loves Syncere when they are together but out in public he doesn't know her and everybody in the crew clowns her.. Especially Erica I don't know if she thought Syncere was checking for her supposed to man or she didn't like her just because. Ashanti didn't not let Lovie go into the system, just her mammy was sick, evil and money-hungry. Same as thing as for Tammy who destroyed all Choyce house and shop because she was jealous. Dame stood behind Choyce who was ready to step as needed. Same as Keyz he steps as needed for Syncere. They didn't know their uncle Mike had a another life before them and he was Malice. They all got their happily ever after.
I originally thought this book would be about Syncere and Kenan (Keys) relationship from their childhood to adulthood BUT adding the other 2 sisters Choyce and Ashanti balanced the book out as well. Syn having to disclose the secret she had been hiding (her daughter Keyari) was rough in the beginning but I think once she got it out, she started to open up more. Keys really made it right with Syn and their past. Dame was probably the only person to keep Choyce in line. I felt for Ashanti being set-up by that crazy Officer lady but Lovie was the best blessing that came out of that situation. Overall really great book. First read from author but Iโll definitely have to look into more books written by the author.
This was a nice love story. Nothing too crazy but good. Vanessa really shocked meโฆ I was hoping it was a lie and he wouldโve popped up somewhere. Sad for the mom tooโฆ I peeped that message when she as said it. If youโre looking for a book thatโs not too packed with drama that you canโt keep up, this is it. This is a cuddling up with your kindle and reading type of book
Baby daddy issues: A second chance romance: standalone
This was a really good story from beginning to end. I don't know if I would have forgiven baby daddy because he embarrassed me in front of the whole hood. To bet three hundred dollars that he could sleep with you and then announce it in front of everyone. Way to many gangs trying to take down other gangs but at least they got rid of all the enemies before anyone was hurt, only one family member was killed.
I read the reviews before reading the book. I enjoyed all the characters in this book, the storyline and the pot twists. It was very well put together there werenโt any unanswered questions. My favorite characters were definitely Choyce and her man. I do wish that I got to see Syncere and Keyz rebuilding more. I would definitely recommend reading. The reason got a four and not a five was the spicy scenes are OK and a few scenes were repeated unnecessarily.
These three sisters were strong. Sad some of the struggles they faced but still overcame. Keyz, Dame, and Mel were just what they needed though. Sometimes the sisters were a little too strong, especially when their men tried to help them. Glad the sisters took Lovie end. She really endured a hard life with that crazy momma of hers. Good read.
This was a GREAT story! Poor little Syncere got totally played by immature Keyz, and left town, only to discover she was pregnant! Seven years later, she returns trying to hide her little secret, but her little secret literally runs into Keyz. That's when her little secret becomes a big problem!
Good read, but I don't think I could have forgiven Keyz. Well, not as quick as she did anyway. Syncere was a little too docile for me. My favorite character was actually Choyce.
3.5. The writing style kinds of thru me for a loop. Editing could have been a bit better. Some of the skips to different parts was confusing. But i pushed through and i did like the story, just wished it was put together a little better.
Great read! Keys was a real jack ahh that really made me mad because I thought he liked Syn, but to play with her with Erica was ughhh crazy! Iโm glad Syn left and got herself together. When she came back with a child named Keyari was crazy work! Yโall gotta read
I loved every minute of this book, I couldnโt stop reading it! The characters were well written, their growth was incredible. The drama and twists were what kept me turning the pages!
Its starts out with heartbreak but ends with a good love and intentions. This standalone is on I would recommend to anyone that loves dramatic scenes and love intertwined with unprovoked hatred and a bit of heartache this book is for you.
I'm a new reader for Ms. Mollysha and YES, I'm a fan! I enjoyed this read so much... there was love, romance, trauma, vindication, tension, and redemption. All of the couples had such loving stories of growth that it was nice to read.
I loved the sisters bond they stood 10 toes down for each other!! This story was so much more than Sen and keyz their story was good and Im glad they worked it out.
