Shayleigh Dougherty doesn’t do love…
That's a lesson she learned from her mom years ago. Shayleigh and her Dad moved to Missouri to start a new life and things have never been better. So when Shayleigh's childhood best friend Sienna asks her to come back to Louisiana for the summer, she's hesitant. Everything she left remains right where it should stay, behind.
Beau Granger spent his whole life in Lake Charles, LA.
With a family business under his belt, and a great best friend, he has all he wants until he runs into Shayleigh on the side of the road. Fate has a funny way of bringing people together and this is a summer neither one of them dreamed possible.
Can summer love survive or is it better left on the dirt road?
Ashley Johnson was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA where she still resides with her fiance and their daughter.
She graduated high school in 2003 and then graduated college in 2008 with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice.
She has a terrible addiction to Amazon and Google Play and owns more books than she will probably ever read, but can't resist a good story. When she's not reading or writing she loves to cook, that's what happens when living in Louisiana.
Ashley loves to read and write, so that's what she does now.
This book is incredible!!! I absolutely loved it! The story revolves around Shayleigh Dougherty and Beau Granger. Shayleigh moved away with her father when her mother left them when she was younger. Due to this she had to leave behind her best friend Sienna and the life she lived. Now years later Sienna asks Shayleigh to go back to the place she was raised and stay with her for the summer. When Shayleigh and Beau meet unexpectedly on the side of the road sparks fly. Fate brings them together again and again! This story is short, however, I absolutely loved it! It contained everything I love in a book including well written characters, amazing dialogue and a phenomenal plot line. I definitely look forward to more books about this couple and to find out what happens next! This book is a definite must read!
I did not like Shay during this book. She basically is a coward and strings people along.
You love him so much your sad for a while year but you're dating someone else already. He comes back for you, moves for you tells you he's there for YOU, you tell him you love him too but when your boyfriend shows up you treat Beau like a stranger and go off with your "nice" boyfriend who you will once again be stringing along because you don't even care.
I seriously dislike her. Really Sienna you couldn't have warned Beau! Beau, you don't need that bitch. But I want him to have his HEA and to him that with her. Sadly I will not be reading the second book because of Shay.
Shay is hardened to love. She likes to have fun, but she doesn't do love. She only loves her dad and her best friend from childhood. It's that love for her friend that takes her back to her childhood home despite the not so happy memories that might be lurking there. The trip doesn't quite go as planned and sexy Beau Granger comes along. He is so sexy, she can't stop thinking of him. I loved everything about Beau. He's sexy and sweet and full of life. You don't want to miss him in this short but sexy novella.
This was the first story I have read by this author. I really enjoyed it. I would say the only downfall is that the story was too short, can't wait to read the next one.
I enjoyed reading this book and am excited to see happens next for Shay. This a cute story, and I liked it- even though it kinda ended on a cliffhanger!
This was the first time I read this author and I was hooked. After I finished this novella I went to her FB page and asked when was the next book coming out because that ending? omg! Can't wait to see what happens :)
This book was addicting. I started it and could not put it down! From the moment I was introduced to all the characters I had this connection. Such a real life feeling and very relatable. As soon as I finished I had to buy the next book. I would like read more books by this author.
It was a quick, cute book. Shay hangs out for the summer with her best friend and ends up meeting a gorgeous man that turns into someone she can fall in love with.
