I’m not really sure how I feel about this book or this new author… Her writing was unnecessarily dramatic - -almost like the author is trying too hard to show us she’s a good writer.

After the frustrating storyline, Norman- I know what a horrid name —allows his grandmother and the woman he was betrothed to originally, to treat Kitty like absolute garbage —

This was listed as a steamy historical romance, and it certainly was not-
there is a very generic vanilla sex scene around the 75% mark and then again at the end-
I don’t think I’m going to read anything else by her unfortunately -

It was an okay book, I feel like if it was more polished it definitely could be something.

But there were just to many mistakes. Saying that you could only hear the creaking of the boat when they weren't on a boat. Calling Jane her sister when she was her governess. Scenes that didn't flow nicely after each other. Sometimes having a character give an answer that doesn't make sense.

I really feel like if this was cleaned up and some scenes had more detail and depth and the order of some scenes was different it really could be something. The potential is there.

But as it stands I don't recommend it.

A Saving/An Engagement/A Marriage?

The Duke, Norman, has a great deal upon his shoulders; his father’s debts & his sister’s debut. But then he meets Kitty at a ball & saves her in the garden, only to have to marry her to be honorable. And Lady Kitty is no one like he’s ever known. And he’d better get used to it.

Enchanting

First time reading this author, Bella Lovatt and so glad I did! This book was an awesome story of love, its ifficulties and its fulfillment. Amazing characters both sweet and nasty but a story you won't want to miss!
I will recommend this book and its author to many others.

not my style

A whole lot of bickering, not much romance except in the epilogue. I was hoping to have found a new author to follow, but I did not . The Shakespeare play was waste of my time. I did like the epilogue but too little too late.

Another book that would've been better without the unnecessary sex.
