Complex fiction
A novel that tries too hard. The author strives to add romance to a sci fi story, while maintaining space fiction with classic UFO-laden conspiracy, a survivalist subtext, and a political thriller with military specificity. As such it lacks focus and creates a muddled reading experience. Cannot recommend.

Excellent
Extremely interesting novel. Very well written, reads like a presidential briefing turned into fiction. Highly recommend this book if you're even a little interested in the possibility of alien contact.

Exercises in preparedness – a great novel that explores UFOs and possibilities!
Georgia author JK Franks specializes his writing skills on the metaphysical science fiction genre with over twenty novels published to date. According to Franks, “Really interesting things happen to people when it all goes sideways. Good dystopian stories just peel away all pretenses of civilized behavior and societal norms. What’s left when you expose all that is just rich characters with raw human needs and wants. This provides an opportunity for a writer to really tell an honest story.”
JK speaks directly to us as the book opens – a touch that indicates that the author not only cares about the structure and detail of the novel, but also the reader’s response and willingness to inhabit the world we are about to enter. ‘Perhaps the revelation that we’re not alone in the universe would expand our perspectives rather than shatter them. But are we ready for that expansion? Are we prepared for the truth? This book approaches these questions through a hard-science lens, exploring fictional “what-if’ scenarios with what I fear our leaders are not currently considering.’ What follows is an exemplary posit that UFOs are more than imaginary entities, and the author’s presentation is not only perceptively credible but also immensely entertaining as a novel. One of JK Frank’s finest novels to date!

Loved it!! Was a little slow at first. Give me domes day prepared any day! Complex and a great read.

I seem to be going through a UFO reading phase. The narrative jumps all over the place and it quite confusing. And the characters are a little all over the place. A bit meh.
