Patrick is a small town, hockey romance featuring Sofia (Fifi) Rossi and Patrick (Trick) Jennings.

The two went to high school together. Their families were enemies causing them to mostly stay away from one another but Patrick crushed on her from afar. One day, while she was being bullied by a couple of girls, Patrick stepped in and pretended to be with her. They shared a moment and a memorable kiss.

Patrick ended up going to University of New Hampshire while Sofia attended Endicott. Patrick had tried to put her out of his mind knowing they could never be together but when she suddenly appears as a transfer student, it all comes rushing back. It turns out she hasn't stopped thinking about him and wants them to pursue a real relationship, but secret from their families at least until they know they have something. There's a risk that their families will find out and be incredibly upset and disappointed, but they decide to give it a try.

The characters are cute and likeable, and Patrick and Sofia definitely have chemistry. Overall I found this to be a fun read. It even layered in a fake relationship situation with another UHN student. The author also adds another component to the story where Patrick, an excellent player who should have a successful future in hockey, has a difficult and unsupportive coach who does his best to make life hard for Patrick.

The book left me curious about the history between the Jennings and the Rossis and what led to them being enemies. Perhaps I'll learn more in another book.

Enemies to Lovers? Not actually. 🤭
Trick and Sofia grew up in the same town and schools. They crossed path lots of times. He watched her from afar until one day she needed his help. They shared a kiss. Off to different colleges they went. She transferred to his college, where she has very good friends. She had one thing in mind: get to him and convince him they are perfect together. Lots of things happen, she needs people on her side and together they en up facing her problems and both their families.

For me, it was an incredible read. I live in the area, I go to Hockey East hockey games weekly. I knew the names, imagined all the places and felt like I was there with them all throughout the book. I always love reading the book when it takes place in New England.

I loved it!!! 🥰🤗

I absolutely loved Trick and Fifi’s story! Definitely a page turner. It’s a College Hockey Rom-Com and a must read. Their families are long time enemies. In the beginning Trick saves Fifi from two girls who wind up becoming her friends. Trick is a hockey player and Fifi is into fashion.

They try to hide their growing affection from their families. They even decide to involve another girl. Hiw will that work out? Is Trick and Fifi’s growing attraction doomed or could they make it work in the end? They get along so well, but there are definitely some people out there that want to ruin what they have. Wait til you see what one of Fifi’s roommates does. She’s just the worst. I was definitely rooting for Trick and Fifi to go the distance and make their relationship work in the end.

I enjoyed this book. Fifi and Trick are such likeable characters, they have off the chart chemistry. Their families have long rooted hatred towards each other. Their relationship is one that conducted in secret, only some of their close friends know. It was fun reading how they deal with their attraction, finding time to be together and figuring out how they are going to continue their relationship and tell their respective families. A great rom-com hockey story. I voluntarily received and reviewed a copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

Another great hockey romance from the Queen. Trick and Fifi grew up in a small town where everyone knows everyone and their business. To say their families don’t get along would be an understatement. After a brief encounter in high school their paths cross again a couple of years later in college. Their chemistry is palpable and though they know it’s going to come with consequences they can’t resist each other. I highly recommend this if book if you’re looking for a rom com hockey love story with a happily ever after. I received an ARC of this story and voluntarily reviewed it.

I think this was a cute enjoyable fast read. It’s small town, family feud, college hockey romance. There was great chemistry between Patrick and Sofia with her falling first and each knowing it was a forbidden romance. I always enjoy the start of a new series. I am looking forward to Connor and Camilla’s book that started with the prequel in The Holiday Play book anthology.

Two young people affected by their families feuding for years. Attraction that can never lead anywhere according to their families. That would be consortium with the enemy. Sometimes the need for what you want overrides what everyone else wants. Steamy, complicated, encouraging, loving and hot!
