Blame it on the Bikini is an exciting return to Ocean Shores. The love of the friends and the community, the found family for most of the residents, is palpable and heartfelt. I love the characters, and was delighted to read the story of Lexie and Grayson. With the mixed feelings each had about the other, highs and lows as they explore their growing attraction, and questions about the future, this book is a thrill-ride of emotion and promise. I look forward to the next return to Ocean Shores!

Barbara Freethy has done it again! I absolutely loved Blame It On the Bikini, the fourth book in her Ocean Shores series! I love this series and Blame It On the Bikini is an incredible love story, which filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and was impossible to put down. It is my favorite book in the series. I was hooked from the first few pages and loved every moment on every page. Barbara Freethy continues to deliver incredibly written love stories that I LOVE to read and continues to be one of my favorite authors to read. Blame It On the Bikini was one of the most enjoyable books that I have read recently. Barbara Freethy definitely does not disappoint her readers with all the feels in Blame It On the Bikini and has once again delivered an amazing story filled with everything that I have come to love about and expect from her books. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, big loving families, and caring friends, who always support each other? Blame It On the Bikini is an incredible love story between Lexie Price, photographer and Grayson Holt, works for Holt Enterprises, who owns Ocean Shores. Grayson has taken over the management of Ocean Shores from his father, Emerson, and wants to sell Ocean Shores since the ocean front property is very valuable. Emerson has tasked Grayson to live at Ocean Shores for four weeks before he decides to sell it. When Grayson arrives at Ocean Shores some of the residents are spending time together near the pool. Grayson is distracted by Lexie’s pink bikini and ends up falling in the pool after getting hit in the head with a beach ball. Lexie has spoken to Grayson before and knows that his intent is to sell the property, putting all the residents who have because friends out of their homes. While Grayson is staying at Ocean Shores Lexie is determined to convince him not to sell. Lexie tells Grayson that he will make them homeless, but he justifies it by saying that they will be compensated. Lexie wants to be more than a wedding photographer; I love everything that Grayson does to help and encourage Lexie to be more. I love the trips that they take together so that Lexie has more photographs to display at her upcoming showing. One of my favorite parts of the story are the photographs that Lexie took on their excursions with Grayson, and the changes that they made in her life. I love everything that Grayson shares with Lexie about himself, something that he does not usually do. As Lexie and Grayson spend time together and socializing with the neighbors it brings them closer together. As Lexie and Grayson continue to spend time together, things change between them starting with stolen kisses. Conversation between Grayson and Lexie flows so easily, I love their playful banter. I love the chemistry between them. I love the ways that Grayson and Lexie spend time together and that they open up to one another where Lexie shares how she left her job as a lawyer in her father’s firm for the freedom that her photography offers. An unexpected plot twist puts their relationship in jeopardy; Lexie realizes that she must make the changes in her life that she wants. I love the heart-to-heart conversation that Lexie has with her aunt, Josie and Grayson and the ones that Grayson has with his father and the secrets that are revealed. I love the changes the Lexie and Grayson are willing to make to have a relationship with each other and the changes that Lexie makes in her life to achieve her dreams. I love the similarities between Lexie’s and Grayson’s lives. I love the ending of their love story and how Grayson realizes how important Lexie is to him. It is the perfect ending of their love story. Another favorite part is how Barbara Freethy incorporated the title of the book into their love story and how she develops her characters in such a way that you fall in love with them and care about them much like a good friend. Barbara Freethy always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. She continues to deliver all that and so much more. She has once again given her readers another remarkable book. Blame It On the Bikini is filled with all the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, plot twists, and surprises that I have come to love and expect in a Barbara Freethy love story, I especially loved the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. She continues to prove that she is an incredible storyteller. I love that she writes her stories from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Blame It On the Bikini was an amazing love story; I am so glad that Lexie and Grayson got the happily ever after, especially since they started off as enemies. I loved all the surprises that filled the pages of this love story. I loved catching up with all the residents in the Ocean Shores apartment complex and cannot wait to read the remaining stories. I enjoy all the interactions among the residents; it feels like real family love. I loved catching up with Ava and Liam, Madison and Gabe, Emmalyn, and Hunter, and Bree and Olivia. My favorite part was the significance of Lexie’s birthday gift to Olivia. I love the descriptions of the Oceanside, California setting in Blame It On the Bikini. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I loved every moment. I cannot wait to read the other books in the series. Highly recommend this beautifully written story. This series is so fun and easy, breezy. The characters are so likable, and I love the continued storylines from the characters other characters in the series.

Grayson has made a decision to sell the Ocean Shores Residence, but his father has made a condition that he must live there for one month before he finalizes his decision. Grayson is not happy with this deal but begrudgingly agrees to make him happy. When he arrives, there is a gathering by the pool and he tries to avoid any contact, but he notices Lexie in a pink bikini and he is amused and reminded by her strong opinions of her opposition of the sale. The distraction lands him in the pool which cements an impression with the group. He is certain he does not want to make any connections and tries to convince himself that he can work on other business and bide his time.

His efforts to avoid the tenants and especially Lexie is thwarted, and he cannot help wanting to step in to help when needed and he begins to learn that he is liking this.

Lexie cannot seem to avoid Grayson, and she is finding that her "enemy" is breaking that wall she put up. They make a deal to NOT discuss the sale as they recognize their chemistry. There is a scene with an innocent plate of brownies that is hilarious. Talk about an ice breaker.

Grayson is not only having feelings for Lexie, but he is forming friendships with his neighbors. He is confused and tries to add some space from everyone especially Lexie as he is certain his attraction to her is deep. He leans on his dad for some guidance and learns that he has a connection to Ocean Shores which sort of puts the pieces together for him.

This story had a good flow from the start, and you were engaged with the stories from the start. While this could be a standalone story, it is highly recommended that you read the series as the characters are so interesting and likable.

Barbara Freethy is one of my go-to authors when I want to dive into a cozy, small-town romance. Her latest title, “Blame It on the Bikini,” has everything I wanted and needed.
Book 4 in Freethy’s Ocean Shores series, “Blame It on the Bikini” has higher stakes than how our couple will find their HEA. The conflict that drives this title is the question of whether the friends and family who share a closeknit apartment community will be forced to move if the real estate developer who owns the building sells it for its land.
Lexie Price, niece of the on-site property manager, makes it her mission to change the developer’s mind. Grayson Holt, the developer in question, knows that selling the prime real estate on the beach in southern California is the only option.
These two people on opposite sides of a single issue discover complications when they realize they are more alike than they thought and just might find the foundation for a lasting relationship.
I read an ARC of this title provided by the author. These are my opinions. I loved getting to know both Lexie and Gray. The complications in their individual lives as well as surrounding their possibility as a couple drew me in and had me rooting for them.
I also enjoyed revisiting the other apartment residents who appeared in the earlier titles. Each of the Ocean Shores books can be read separately and out of order. If “Blame It on the Bikini” is your first Ocean Shores title, you’ll turn the last page then track down the earlier titles to catch up with everyone you’ve just meant.
Back in my younger days, the Ocean Shores apartment complex is exactly where I would want to live, finding a family with the other tenants. Although I can’t live there, I can visit every time Freethy finishes a new title — or jump into one I’ve already read just to enjoy the vibes.

This is the fourth book in the Ocean Shores series. I would suggest reading the previous books because not only are both Lexie and Grayson were introduced in them, but other characters from those books make appearances in this one. That being said, if you want to jump into the series with this book, it’s perfectly fine to do so since it would work as a standalone.

Grayson’s appearance at the apartment complex brings worry, as he wants nothing more than to sell the complex. Lexi, who runs it with her aunt, is determined to make him see that Ocean Shores is more than just an apartment complex; it’s a tight-knit community of people who started out as strangers and became a family. As Grayson spends time living there at his father’s insistence, he starts to see what makes the Ocean Shores community so special, but will it be enough to overcome his desire to sell it?

Lexi is a strong character who’s not afraid to speak up on behalf of Ocean Shores. She knows it’s a special place, and she’s determined to save it. She never backs down even when it seems like things won’t go the way she hopes. Grayson initially comes across as someone only interested in making money, but it soon becomes clear that there’s so much more to him than that. He’s always honest about his intentions but still makes time to get to know the residents. As for the romance between the pair, it develops naturally and isn’t rushed, which I enjoyed. They made a good pair.

The books in the Ocean Shores series are well-written with likeable characters that readers will fall for, and this book is no exception. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from the author**

Barbara Freethy writes such beautiful stories full of wonderful characters and storylines that will pull you right into the book! Grayson Holt is all work and no play. His father has given him the Ocean Shores apartment complex and Grayson knows the land is worth a lot of money. But before he can sell it, his dad has one condition. Grayson has to live in the complex for 4 weeks before he can make his decision. Grayson doesn’t understand why his father made this deal with him but he figures it’s only a couple weeks. Shouldn’t be a problem…until he sees Lexie in her pink bikini!

Lexie Price used to work as a lawyer, but she gave up the stress of her old job to start a career doing something she’s always loved as a photographer. While Lexie had big dreams of traveling and taking inspiring photographs, she’s played it safe so far, taking photos mostly for weddings and other life events. Lexie lives in Ocean Shores near her Aunt and helps out around the complex. She loves the community they’ve created and can’t imagine anyone selling it just for profit. Even if the person who wants to sell happens to be incredibly attractive.

Will four weeks be enough time for Lexie and the tenants of Ocean Shores to change Grayson’s mind? Or will they have to say goodbye to the place they call home?

This is book 4 in the Ocean Shores series. You can’t help but fall in love with all the tenants. I really enjoyed catching up with the people we met in the first three books and seeing the interactions between Lexie and Grayson. This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

I think I've said it before...but...I love Ocean Shores!

The Ocean Shores apartment building may be put up for sale since it's right on the beach. There are so many long time residents, they're all upset about what might happen.

Lexie, a former lawyer who gave that up the corporate rat race two years before, for her passion of photography, has grand plans to do more than just wedding shoots, engagement photos, and corporate head shots. She needs a little push to get that to happen. She is also using her lawyering ability to help her Aunt Josie, who is the manager of Ocean Shores, stay employed! Lexie also lives at Ocean Shores and enjoys the 'found family' that live there.

Grayson has been given the Ocean Shores property by his father to do with it what he wants, on the condition he must live at Ocean Shores for 4 weeks. Grayson wants to prove to his father he can do big things and is only looking at the bottom line. If he develops the property he will make millions, but the residents will all be out on the street.

Lexie and Grayson are both at crossroads in their lives. As they become closer, will they realize there are ways for things to change for the better when you just stop and listen to your heart? Not everything has to be won or lost. Compromise sometimes makes everything better.

I loved returning to Ocean Shores. The tenants are people I want to know and know everything about them. I want them all to have their happily every afters.

Grayson is the owner of Ocean Shores and has to make the tough decision to either keep the property or sell it for redevelopment and make millions for his company. However, after a month of staying there and getting to know the residents and the community he might have a change of heart about selling. Maybe profit isn't always the best option in a business deal.

Lexie left a high profile job as a lawyer and became a photographer and was living the life at Ocean Shores or so she thought. Grayson came along and the two had got off on the wrong step with each other but that might have been more to do with an unwanted attraction to each other. Lexie wants to showcase her photography but was always hesitant u til she finally decides to take that next step and agrees to a showing but she needs photographs for it. She goes in adventures with Grayson and along the way the two grow closer together and fall in love.

Will the business decision Grayson has to make on Lexie's home be to much on this new relationship or will Grayson find a more balanced life and Lexie really go after her dreams with a man by her side pushing and supporting her along the way?

Loved the book and I can't wait for the next one in the series!!

Greyson Holt is coming to stay at Ocean Shores, and he is not happy about it. When looking at their company holdings he can’t understand why his father won’t let him sell the Ocean Shores apartments when bulldozing the place and using the land would be way more profitable. Yet his father refuses to answer that question and insists that Greyson spend one month at Ocean Shores and then if he still agrees he can sell the place. However, Lexie, a former lawyer turned photographer, and the owner of Ocean Shores niece is determined to keep Greyson from selling. Lexie, and all the other Ocean Shores residents do everything they can think of to keep Greyson from selling. Meanwhile Greyson tries very hard to keep things all business and to resist all their attempts to include him. Yet no matter how hard he tries, Lexie is very hard to resist, and surprisingly has a lot in common with him. As the two of them grow closer the elephant in the room keeps getting bigger, can they have a future if he wants to destroy everything she loves? This was a great addition to the series, and I can’t wait to find out who Jasper is and what his story is! Another great book by Barbara Freethy!

This Ocean Shores series has been so heartwarming meeting all the apartment tenets and seeing how much they care for each other. I shocked when Grayson came to stay for a month to determine if his company should sell the complex. I loved that he fought his father to live there before Grayson could make up his mind about selling. Lexie’s aunt Josie ran the complex and Lexie helped her out. Lexie was a character! We don’t always know what we want to be when we grow up, and sometimes our parents have a lot of influence. I was glad that Lexie left her high pressure attorney job to concentrate on her photography. Lexie and Grayson did not hit it off well at first since she knew he wanted to sell their home, and she was doing everything she could to change his mind. I enjoyed watching Grayson begin to relax some and live life with Lexie’s help. There were many interesting people that Grayson tried to understand that everything was not about how much money a person could make. There was a cute reason Grayson’s father made him live at Ocean Shores before he made a decision to sell. I encourage you to read the book.

Another warm and witty story from Barbara Freethy! Blame it on the Bikini, is a delightful addition to the Ocean Shores series. This book follows Lexie and Grayson as they navigate love, growth, and new beginnings. I especially loved watching Grayson find his place in the Ocean Shores community—and how that experience reshaped his outlook on life. Lexie and Grayson bring out the best in each other, helping one another see strengths and grow in ways they never expected and gain fresh perspectives on themselves.”

The story has everything I look for: engaging characters, a heartfelt romance, and a gorgeous seaside setting. Barbara’s descriptive writing makes me feel like I’m right there in Ocean Shores, part of the community myself. I also appreciated the updates on familiar faces from earlier books, which makes the series feel even more connected.

Blame it on the Bikini is the perfect read to savor at the close of summer—heartwarming, fun, and brimming with charm.

Blame it on the Bikini is one of those stories that asks the age old question of why can't everyone have a happily ever after. It takes place in and around Ocean Shores, a quaint apartment complex that has a life of its own and devoted tenants. You don't have to read the other three books in the series to read this one, but it contains spoilers for the other books.
I like the people at Ocean Shores. It's not just a place to exist, but a place to heal and grow. It's family. They have pool parties, hence the bikini in the title, cook outs, and even field trips! They respect each other. They support each other. There have been times in my life where I would have loved to live there.
So what does the bikini have to do with any of this? You are going to have to read the book to find out! I don't do spoilers.
I hope you like this book as much as I did. And if you haven't read the read of the series, you'll go back and read them too!

From the first minute I started reading Freethy's latest book, I was hooked. By the end of Chapter One, I knew this book was going to be one of the best I've read in the past few months. Lexie helps her Aunt Josie manage the Ocean Shores apartment complex. Grayson, son of the man who owns the building, is determined to sell it since it sits on a desirable piece of real estate. Lexie is also determined to convince him not to sell it, in whatever way she can. This book explores the relationship between them and how their friendship grows in the month Grayson has to make his decision.
What I loved most about this story is how Lexie and Grayson both grow as they battle each other. Lexie learns what she really wants for her career, and Grayson learns how to find other ways to pursue happiness instead of always being focused on his business. These Ocean Shores books never disappoint!

Welcome back to Ocean Shores!
Where we get to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.
Grayson Holt is on a mission to sell Ocean Shores, his father is the owner and has one condition before the sale he wants Grayson to spend one month at Ocean Shores.
He Immediately runs into Lexie, who is doing everything she can to convince him not to sell.
This is more than a building, this is a family, this is a community, this is people who look out for each other and who care for each other, and if she can only get Grayson to see that she’s convinced he will change his mind.
I absolutely love this series, I can’t wait to find out more about the tenants and the new mysterious renter. This is a place I could definitely see myself living!

So excited for this latest trip back to Ocean Shores…the apartment complex where all the tenants are friends as well as neighbors…and love is definitely in the air. This installment features Lexie, a lawyer turned photographer who moved in a few years ago & helps out her aunt, the resident manager. Her “enemies to lovers” match is Grayson, the man whose family company owns the building. He’s decided to sell the building, but his father forces him to live in the complex for a month before making a final decision. A whole lot can happen in a month! No surprise that it might include falling in love and looking at things from a different perspective. With Barbara Freethy’s talents, her writing makes the story even more special. Really enjoyed this one!

The title alone would make me pick up this book. But add in the author and this is an auto-buy for me. I love this series. The setting of Ocean Shores is such fun. I love all of the characters and how they find what they need when they live there. Each book can be read standalone, but I can recommend all of them. In this installment, the main characters Lexie and Grayson are both a little unhappy with their work lives. You can feel their connection immediately in their conversations. They push each other just enough to make them consider other directions. The book is a sweet romance and a fast read. I can't wait for the next in the series. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When you see your son going down the wrong path, and want him to find himself, you send him to Ocean Shores, because lets face it, Ocean Shores is magical. The most staunch, uptight, hurt, driven men are there. Or at least that is how it starts off. The women are kind, generous, loving and supportive, even when they want to despise the men, or let them work themselves to death. Lexie was no different, she was kind and generous even with the chip on her shoulder and Grayson, was no match. He may have went to Ocean Shores to sell it, but...like I said, the place is magic! I loved the banter, even the angry one. I loved the chemistry, the opening scene is one of the best....pink bikini anyone? HA I love that history repeated itself at Ocean Shores.

Blame It on the Bikini, is another gem in Barbara Freethy’s Ocean Shores series. Grayson Holt wants to sell the complex because the land is very valuable, but his father insists he must live on-site for a month before selling. Poor Grayson has no idea what this close knit community has to teach him…and his primary teacher turns out to be the owner’s niece, Lexie. Ms. Freethy has written a very entertaining enemies to lovers story with a secret twist. I loved everything about this story. The characters have depth, I wasn’t drowned in angst, and the romance is sweet. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. Most highly recommend.

Two adversaries from the start, Lexie and Grayson had very different takes on the sale of Ocean Shores. It was her safe place with her beloved aunt and friends. To him it was a waste of time taking him away from his important business deals. Can these two determined people find their way to friendship or maybe more? Can they help each other find their dreams and live a more balanced life. Well, with the wonderful residents of Ocean Shores and their love and support for one another, it could happen. A few fun adventures and some past secrets May change the future for Lexie and Grayson. Love reading about this group of folks. Looking forward to more. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

An old romance is revealed. A new romance begins. And there is a mysterious new tenant at the Ocean Shores Apartment complex. A lot will be revealed in the pages of this book, but there are still a few secrets to uncover.

Barbara Freethy is so very talented in creating stories and characters that you feel so comfortable around. The people who populate Ocean Shores have quickly become my friends, and each story gives me a peek into their lives, as well as a new romance that blooms between the pages.

And I have to also comment that the cover art is spot on… charming, whimsical and perfect for the story.

This is such a feel good series and this book is no different! Grayson’s family owns Ocean Shores and wants to sell, but his father forces him to live there for a month before making a decision. He butts heads with Lexie who is trying to convince him to stay. They then find themselves attracted to each other despite their differences.

As Grayson is drawn to Lexie and finds himself woven into the Ocean Shores community what choice will he make.

Great story and sweet romance (no spice for those who prefer that). Overall, a wonderful read.

Thanks to the author for a review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Who knew a pink bikini could be the start of something wonderful. Grayson is ordered by his dad to live in the Ocean Shores apartments for one month before selling them to the highest bidder. The community sets out lead by Lexi to convince Grayson that's a bad idea. this is another sweet romance from Ms Freethy with a cast of wonderful characters who we've met before in her previous books in the series. Its romance, love, hope, worry and of course a happily ever after all tied up in one package. This is such a fun series, glad there are many characters left who need their HEA.

Blame It On the Bikini brings us back to Ocean Shores and all the community has to offer. This is Lexie’s and Grayson’s story, and what a story! Ocean Shores is an apartment community that brings out the best in people. It is a place where found families are discovered and the magic brings healing to those in need. It is also about the uncertainty of the future and learning to be the person you were meant to be in the best capacity life has to offer. I cannot wait for the next book to revisit all of the friends we find at Ocean Shores.

Blame it on the Bikini is book #4 in the Ocean Shore Series books written by Barbara Freethy. I was very happy to go back to the apartment complex to revisit with all the many characters that I met in the other books. This series is so good and just makes me smile the whole time I am reading the books. Grayson and Lexie are so fun to get to know and watch how they learn more about each other. They are on different sides of an issue but they show respect for each other and listen to each other. I can't wait to revisit Ocean Shores-great books that will make your heart smile.

This book was so so good. I love all of Barbara’s books but the diversity of her writing is amazing. I absolutely loved the way this relationship between Grayson and Lexie unfolded. It started with conflict and turned into so much more. Yet it was innocent and sweet while they both struggled with their own issues. And the twist at the end was in true Barbara Freethy fashion. I love a good romance and this was definitely one of them. I feel like I returned to visit all my good friends at Ocean Shores. Looking forward to the next one.

This book takes us back to Ocean Shores, a community that has come together as family in the best way. When the future of their community is threatened they come together to try to stop it from being torn down to build luxury beach front condos that will bring massive profit to the current owner of the property. Sparks fly between the developers and one of the residents. Will he change his mind about the plans. This book is part of a series that I would recommend, but this could be read as a stand alone. You will grow to love the residents of Ocean Shores and their community.

Blame It On The Bikini is book 4 in the Ocean Shores series by Barbara Freethy and I want to be a part of this community…lol

Lexie has changed careers, less stress, but is still using her law degree to help her Aunt who’s manager of Ocean Shores against the owner, Grayson Holt who wants to push everyone out so he can make millions on the property. Except his father thinks Grayson needs to live among the tenants first. What happens next is humor, secrets, memories, found family, fun adventures, romance and more…

I voluntarily read a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a cute story! Each book in this series focused on different people who all live at Ocean Shores apartments. This one focuses on the owner of the apartment’s son, Grayson, who wants to sell it. One of the woman who lives there, Lexie, makes it her mission to change Grayson’s mind about selling. This story addresses working a career that is expected of you versus a career that is your passion. A quick read that had me laughing, pulling for Lexie and Grayson and enjoying the comradeship of the Ocean shores residents.

Book four of this wonderful series and it is every bit as enjoyable as the rest. The ocean shore complex is a great place to be. A happy place where the tenets are like family and everyone has each others back no matter what. Fantastic world building helps you easily visualise this wonderful small beach town and all of its fabulous and sometimes quirky characters and the storyline, well there’s romance, there’s friendship and there’s always secrets but it’s a place I would love to visit sometime!

Blame It On the Bikini is the fourth book in the Ocean Shores series, the perfect series for sweet, lighthearted romance with great characters. This book features Lexi and Grayson, they bring some conflict to the series as Grayson comes to stay at Ocean Shores with a plan to sell it to developers and Lexi is determined to change his mind. I enjoyed getting to know Grayson and revisiting the rest of the Ocean Shores family. I reached the end with a happy heart and I’m already looking forward to the next book of the series.
