The greatest horrors are real, and evil wears a placid, dead-eyed smile.
Ghost-hunting is not very serious business, at least not for Alia. When she leaves the big city with her friends to go on a paranormal investigation down in Arkansas, all she really expects to find is an old plantation-style mansion and some scenic nature. But once their investigation begins, they quickly run afoul the new owners of the mansion, a high-control religious group dead-set on hunting them down to conceal their dark secrets.
The only help? A mysterious stranger dressed like a renaissance fair pirate and his sidekick, a young girl who happens to be a psychic powder-keg ready to blow a hole through reality itself. And a bad place is always a thin place.
As chaos ensues, bodies pile up, and the very laws of nature shift around them, one thing becomes no one is getting out unscathed… or unchanged.
