I’ve loved Taylor Baker since the moment her eyes met mine over ten years ago when I was still Grant Davenport, starting pitcher, not the owner of a billion dollar hospitality enterprise. We fell hard and fast, got married, and then before our first anniversary, my pitching career and our marriage imploded.I could never regret her. Through all the hardships of starting over, she was my North Star, guiding every move I made until the opportunity presented itself to win my wife back.
Now we’re in the same city—she’s helping with a player on the Music City Troubadours, a baseball team I own—and I’m not above a little persuasion to keep her close.
Sooner or later, my wife is going to be mine again, and when it comes to our second chance, I’ve got the home field advantage.
Home Field Advantage is a spicy contemporary baseball sports romance with a close proximity living arrangement, secret relationship, second chance, tons of banter and found family.
Thank you to the author T. Leigh Turner for sending me a digital ARC copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
This is a spicy, second-chance baseball sports romance that follows a billionaire team owner as he attempts to win back his ex-wife. Such a beautiful love story about second chances. Love a good sports romance book! So good. It made me laugh, cry, and smile in all the right places. Such a fun read!
Synopsis: Ten years ago, pitcher Grant Davenport and Taylor Baker fell hard, got married, and then quickly separated as Grant's pitching career and their marriage imploded. Now a billionaire hospitality enterprise owner, Grant has never stopped loving Taylor. It is a slow-burn narrative that builds tension and focuses on the couple's journey to open up, heal past wounds, and believe in their second chance at love.
This book releases on December 4th
A huge thanks to T.Leigh Turner for giving me the privilege to read the book before the book is official.
This is a new author to me and it won't be the last book I read. This follows the story of Grant and Taylor who meet and marry at a young age but their marriage falls apart very quickly and we pick up 10 years later to watch them get their second chance. There are some flashbacks to the past which I enjoyed.
Grant is pretty much all in with his wife despite the fact he hasn't seen or heard much from her in 10 years. He has been patiently waiting for the right moment to swoop back in and reclaim 'his wife'. Taylor has been more single minded in thinking their marriage was over and takes a little bit of persuading to come around. I enjoyed watching these two reconnect. It wasn't a 5 star read for me as I felt their separation was a little too long and for Grant being so all in on getting his wife back it didn't fit his character for me that he would have tried to move on at all - totally personal opinion though!
Safety warning for those - there is dubious cheating in this one. Neither main character is celibate during their separation.
Just WOW 🤩 I so loved this book. I mean, just the "my wife" alone makes this book perfect 😎
The book takes place at the same time as book 2. In book 2, Chase (MMC) needs help fixing a stupid act he made, and not just Gabby (FMC), as the team's lawyer, also Taylor, as a publicist, and lots of experience with VIPs doing stupid things. Of course, Grand, as the team's owner, is involved 😉 I highly recommend reading the books in order to get the full experience with all the characters, and don't spoil the other books for yourself.
And I felt so sorry for Grand. All the pining 🥺 I felt it with every word in the book. Losing the love of your life, not through death, but because of circumstances he never fully understood 😭 After all these years, he still loves Taylor with every fiber of his heart, body, and soul 🥰 And it's not just one year or two. That really shows how much he loves her. They are the perfect example of soulmates 🩷 Grand is just perfect. He takes care of Taylor when her endometriosis pain is so severe. There is just one word that describes it: WOW 🥰 I want to be Taylor, just so I can have Grand! 😎
I knew something was odd in book 1 with Taylor and the "help" she organized. Sorry, I don't want to say too much to not spoil book 1 🙈 But this scene... Yeah. And now it's obvious what the odd thing was 😉
I can't say it enough, I'm so jealous seeing the girls and the guys having such a strong friendship that is 10 times stronger than every family bond.
There is now just one "left", the jokester of the gang. Miller. Hey, I didn't mention it before this last paragraph, so yeah, let me at least talk about him now 😁 I'm really so excited for his book. I hope it won't take too long 🤞
Thanks to the author for trusting me with an ARC 🩷
I was so excited for Taylor and Grant's story! After getting the first tease in "Tryst" and a little bit more in "Stealing Her Privilege" I was feral and so ready to watch Grant win back his woman!
Home Field Advantage did not disappoint! Grant and Taylor were married years ago, split up when she walked away, but have yet to get divorced because he refuses to let her go. Now he's determined to win her back for good. But will the troubles from their past resurface and break them again before he can?
These two were sweet, electric, swoony, and so so hot! The yearning Grant has went through and was still going through was so beautiful and hurt my heart. But once we learn why Taylor left my heart broke for her as well.
Once they FINALLY give in to their physical attraction, holy hotness. The mouth on this possessive husband had me blushing, giggling, and kicking my feet! And when Taylor finally claims her man I literally stood up and cheered!
Tiff really put my heart through the ringer, but she balanced it well with the shenanigans of one of my favorite found families and MY MAN Daddy Mike! The love this group has for each other is so special! Those scenes between Mike and Grant had me tearing up.
I absolutely loved Grant and Taylor's story. And now I can't wait to be back with the Troubadour family when we get the book we've all been waiting for! Spring 2026 my other man Ryan Miller is finally gonna get his HEA!!
This book deals with endometriosis and all the struggles women go through, so please proceed with care of that hits close to home for you. Tiff handles it beautifully with care and respect.
4.5⭐️ - I adored this book and this story! I loved Taylor and Grant’s story! Secret marriage but they find their way back to each other. Check your triggers friends, some heavy topics. This friend group is phenomenal and I couldn’t love them more if I tried.
Totally and completely obsessed! This is the kind of second chance romance that makes hearts soar and souls catch fire, with characters that send your feels into overdrive, a girl squad that is the very definition of ride or die true friends, and a story about the long game a man is willing to play to get back the love of his life, and it’s just insanely fantastic. It’s beautifully written, with T. Leigh Turner’s knack for injecting humor, heart, and warmth into every page making it a standout read about finding your soul mate in a whirlwind romance and then letting life get in your way, letting go when you should have held on tighter, running away when you should have been honest, and letting pride, misplaced fear, and too many little voices in the back of your mind stand in the way of fighting for it, until now. And the now is fabulous, Grant so epically plays the long game of getting Taylor back that it’s book boyfriend gold standard and the way this man has you swooning is just unreal. Through Taylor it reps the heck out of endometriosis and all the hard possibly life altering decisions, stress, and heartache that it brings, the emotional havoc it wreaks, and the ever present fear that having it might change how the man you’re in love with sees and feels about you, and it does it with compassion, understanding, and heart. This is a romance that shouts forever and always, is equal parts absolutely hilarious, unbearably sad, dirty hot, and incredibly sincere, and it belongs on tbr’s everywhere.
This book had me in my feelings from the very first chapter like a quiet ache that slowly turns into full blown of emotions chaos. It's the kind of story that makes your chest tight one minute and it swoon you the next. I was hooked, slightly wrecked, and absolutely worth staying late because I needed to see them to find their way back to each other. 💔➡️❤️🔥
A second chance sports romance that follows Grant and Taylor, two people bound by a past they never truly let go of. When life and a little chaos pushes them back into each other's orbit, old wounds, undeniable chemistry, and unfinished loves come crashing together.
The emotions that were shown were insane. The writing pulls you straight to their past with every glance, every argument, every most touch feels loaded. The pacing keeps you invested without being dragged and the dual POV makes it even more addictive because you feel how much they still love each other even when they're fighting it.
Grant? Filthy mouthed, obsessed, "she's always been mine" energy. 🥵
Taylor? Girl is strong, guarded, and impossible to not to root for. And the found family vibes + sports settings. Just PERFECTION.
I loved how real their conflict felt messy, emotional, and not easily fixed. Nothing was rushed and their journey back to each other was earned. Even when it hurts, it all made sense. (Slutty necklace chain 🥵)
Secret relationship. Second Chance. The billionaire owner's team is called Perfection.
If you love second chances, emotions romance, and found family this one's for you.
“A life without you in it is one thousand times worse.”
Grant and Taylor have an instant connection, with a love for each other that no one can compare to and if you say the rest is history, this story will surprise you! When they are both so focused on their careers, they forget to put the time and effort into each other to see their relationship through. So, when Taylor walks away from Grant not even a year into their marriage, it should be done, over with, never to see each other again. WRONG!
Grant never let his love for Taylor go. He made moves no one saw to get his one true love back. When a chance encounter at a mutual friend’s wedding, Grant reminds Taylor that she is still his “wife” and is willing to prove it. But when he finds out the reason she left in the first place, Taylor is afraid that it will truly be the end of them.
This was my first read by T. Leigh Turner and it did not disappoint! Though Home Field Advantage revolves around the reconnection of Grant and Taylor, it also hit home (to me personally) for some of the personal struggles Taylor is going through in her life. Beautiful story of a second chance romance, with a secret relationship, found family, close proximity, and sports romance!
I received this as an ARC and willingly giving my review.
Book 4.75⭐️ 🥰Taylor Baker has been my first, my always, my forever🥰
Tropes: ⚾️ Baseball romance 🩷 Billionaire team owner ⚾️ Second chance 🩷 Close proximity ⚾️ Secret relationship 🩷 Found family ⚾️ Banter 🩷 Endo Rep ⚾️ Pining
A little extra to make you want to read: 🥵 My Wife moments 🥵 🔥 It's always been you 🥰 He takes care of her when she is hurting 💦 Secret tattoo ❤️ Nicknames. His was sweet. Hers not so much.
Let me start out by saying if you have not read T. Leigh Turner you are missing out. There is no topic she is scared to write about. There is great banter in all of her books but there is real life topics that most are scared to write about. If you are a woman you have experienced or know someone that has experienced these life changing topics. I loved how even though you may have lived through them how differently we process them.
Okay to the fun stuff: By page 12 I knew I was going to absolutely love Grant Davenport. Now did it take him 10yrs to make it back to Taylor Yes but it was just how their story was suppose to be. They had to build the future they wanted separately before they could build a future together.
Both of them are holding secrets that they are afraid to tell the other. I can say Grant was not scared to express his feelings. It was Taylor that would try and run when feelings got to real but once she was in they made a beautiful couple. There was times I wanted to throw my kindle because I just wanted her to get her head out of her butt. It was the best roller coaster of angst.
I was lucky to get a early copy from T. Leigh Turner. Above is my honest reviews.
Second-chance romance with a still-married, very-in-love MMC? Yes please.🫠
✨This book was a crazy whirlwind of emotions. I am Totally and completely obsessed. I love that T. Leigh Turner writes around real life topic in all her books and this isn’t any different. It was a solid and enjoyable second chance romance.🫶🏽 Grant Davenport has never stopped loving his wife, and I really enjoyed that the story never wavered on that.🥹 From the start, it’s clear Taylor has always been his endgame, and that unwavering devotion made this such an easy read to sink into.💕 Plus we loved the “my wife” moments immensely😏
The history between Grant and Taylor felt real, messy, and earned. You can feel the hurt from their past, but also the pull that never quite went away.🔥 Their banter, tension, and slow rebuilding of trust made their journey back to each other satisfying without being overly dramatic.❤️🩹
The baseball setting added a fun layer and gave the story some structure, but the heart of the book was always their relationship.🤭Overall, this was a heartfelt, easy to love read with good chemistry, emotional depth, and a satisfying second chance love story.🙌🏽
Thank you to the Author T. Leigh Turner for the opportunity to read this ARC!🩵
It would’ve been so much better if he hadn’t slept around during their separation — because let’s be real, they were still legally married. You can’t be wearing a wedding ring and then acting single like it’s a summer break. That’s not “growth,” that’s cheating with extra steps.
And her? It would’ve been so much easier if she had just communicated about her illness instead of martyring herself for a decade. Yes, it’s heavy. Yes, it’s traumatic. But this is the same woman who was written as fierce, who used to stand up to his toxic family and defend both of them. Suddenly she can’t send a text? Can’t make one honest call? So we’re supposed to believe she just let ten years go by in silence?
Grant himself describes her as strong, someone who fights back and then for the sake of “separation angst,” she just… doesn’t fight? He doesn’t fight hard enough either? So they both just wasted a decade because plot convenience said so?
Lol. Was it all just for the drama?
I even finished the whole thing hoping it would redeem itself. But I cannot accept that he slept around while still married. Call it separation, call it celibacy path not chosen, call it whatever, it is still cheating. And that just killed the romance for me.
⚾️baseball sports romance ❤️found family ⚾️billionaire team owner ❤️second chance romance ⚾️close proximity ❤️secret relationship ⚾️it’s always been you
Oh my gosh this book is absolutely amazing! Home Field Advantage by T.Leigh Turner is book three in the Music City Troubadours Series and is Grant and Taylor’s story. While it can be read as a stand alone, for the full effect you should read the series in order. (Don’t forget the novella!)
So…Grant! He is the absolute perfect MMC. Once he decides he is going to win Taylor back, he stops at nothing. The way he brings Taylor back into his life, the things he does for her…just so perfect. Taylor is bada$$ as always. It takes a lot for her to let her guard down and let Grant back in, but once she does, these two are unstoppable together! Be ready for the spice because our girl T. Leigh brings it! So, so steamy!
No one writes the found family trope like T. Leigh Turner. The way these friends have each other’s back is amazing. I want them as a friend group so bad!
Thank you to T. Leigh Turner for the honor of Beta and ARC reading this book.
This book is absolutely sensational! The dynamics of Taylor & Grant and their journey of love is nothing short of amazing. The way they parted to the way they re connected was done so beautifully. The depths of the story, the struggles and the exquisite cross over between Gabby & Chase’s story line and this one.. perfectly done. The tough subjects and topics are dealt with in a heartfelt and respectful manner, showcasing real life struggles and the pure care, love and support the characters show each other with that beautiful found family aspect. Having them show what real love is. Not just a couple finding their happily ever after but friends finding their team. Their heart and forever family. Simply perfect in every single way.
T Leigh Turner is an incredible author, with her debut series being so perfectly poised and beautifully crafted in every way. I cannot wait for more from this series and I also cannot wait for what she does next! I just know it’s going to be so amazing. Want to find an authors work you can’t put down? This is it.
This is technically an ARC review but I’m just really behind on getting reviews posted.
Let me start by saying I’m not the biggest fan of second chance romance. It’s usually a skip trope for me. With that said, I loved the first two books in the series and really wanted to read Taylor’s story. I honestly loved this one too. I’m usually a hater of second chance romance because of how things ended in the past and it’s hard for me to believe the chemistry again between the characters. That definitely wasn’t the case with this book. Grant and Taylor never stopped loving each other and you could really feel that connection.Their history felt real and messy. You could feel the hurt from their past but also the pull that never really went away. The chemistry between them felt natural and believable and it made it easy to root for them.
I had all the feels while reading this one. It really felt like real people going through real things even though it was fictional. Also there is some spice which I truly enjoyed at as well.
My Wife!!! Whew I have patiently been waiting for Taylor and Grants story! 🙌🏼 From Stranded on Second the scene when she calls for the house! My God! Worth THE WAIT!!! 😍 It took 10 years for this to come full circle! I really loved that this coincided with Stealing Her Privilege and we got to see the other POV from the same situations! “You’ve been playing chess while everyone else plays checkers.” I have said it in EVERY SINGLE book of this series, this friend group is TOP 👏🏼 EFFING 👏🏼 TIER 👏🏼 The banter, the group chats 🤣, and of course Daddy Mike helping keep all the secrets mixed in make this book one of my top reads! I have loved every single one of Tiffany’s books and CANNOT WAIT FOR MILLER’S book! 🙌🏼 1000/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND this entire series!!!
Fave Quotes:
“I’m petty like that.” I smirk
“Cheese sticks too?” I scoff. “Like that’s even a question.”
“You’re my North Star. In everything I do. Every move I’ve made in the last ten years has been to bring you back to me.”
I know I'm late but I'm just trying to get through my ARCS bro😭
Thank you to the AMAZING T. Leigh Turner for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!
5⭐️ and 3.5🌶️
This book was absolutely AMAZING!😭 I read Stealing Her Privilege (also an ARC) and I was SO excited for this one! And I absolutely loved it😭🤌🏼 First of all, this is my first 5 star read of the year (woho!) and I'm so excited this book was the chosen one! Taylor and Grant's story was so wonderfully written, I fell in love with them. I don't normally read second chance romances, and second chance romances where hey are still married? The trope was intriguing! And ir was delivered PERFECTLY🤌🏼
Like with last book, the dynamics between the inner circle are amazing, Miller is my comfort character and I'm so excited for his book!
I will absolutely be reading more from T. Leigh Turner, she is an absolutely amazing writer!❤️
Things I loved: Don’t text the Devil He takes care of her Teresa He calls her Stella Secret tattoo Text messages My wife Endometriosis rep Found family
This is book three in the Music City Troubadours series and follows Grant and Taylor. After reading Tryst I was so excited for this book and it did not disappoint! These two married young, separated, but never got divorced. Years later they are back in each other’s lives and I loved seeing them work to get their second chance. They were meant to be together and I am so happy they got their HEA! Add this to your TBR if you like baseball romance with a great found family and an MMC who stops at nothing to get his wife back!!
A second chance romance that hit it out of the park. This book had characters I fell in love with and a plot that was interesting and well written. Grant and Taylor made me smile. They were characters that had a connection that couldn't be ignored and were perfect. I loved their shared moments. The banter they shared was amazing and just built on their connection. The side characters were perfect, and they definitely added to the story.
Taylor and Grant…. I’ve been waiting for this book for MONTHS and it delivered everything I’ve been waiting for!! You get little glimpses of what might be going on through the other books but I promise the little teases are so worth it. Watching them find their way back to eachother and getting to watch all of the girls letting out all of their secrets and becoming closer as a whole circle is heart warming.
But Mr. Miller, I AM READY. I sense he’s been keeping some secrets from the group 🤭
The dynamic between Taylor & Grant was such a great time. Between their sexual chemistry and banter, I ate this book up!
I loved how this book and SHP had a cross over so we could finally know what Gabby was witnessing on her end when she has suspicions with Taylor & Grant!
One of my favorite things about T. Leigh Turner's writing is the found family aspect she has in these stories. It is written SOOOOO well!!!
I am SUPER excited to see what is in store for book 4!!
I adored the way this story played out. Grant and Taylor have history, they were married and so in love before his pitching career took off and their marriage fell apart. He has never stopped pining for her and now that she is back in his orbit, he takes his shot at a second chance.
I loved the banter between these two and the chemistry just sizzled. Grant was so awesome the way he stood up and stood helped Taylor when she needed him.
Grant freakin' Davenport!! Holy goodness!! The way this man pines for a loves his WIFE is just beautiful! Taylor is the spit fire no-nonsense girl who has always taken care of herself. She runs her own PR firm and is so strong....or so she lets everyone see. The real Taylor is a sucker for her long lost husband and the way he does little and big things to take care of her. They separated to do what was best for them individually but he never gave up on her. He put pieces together to bring them back to one another and it was so fun to see! These two are absolute perfection! I can't get over how good this series is!!!
This series has drawn me in from the very beginning and I could not wait for this book!! Taylor and Grant have always left us with more questions than answers and now they get their own book.
Taylor is everyone’s go-to girl. A marketing and PR genius that literally walked away from her whole life to build her career and make a name for herself in a male dominated industry.
Grant wants to get out from under the shadow of his name and escape the setups that his mom wants to create for him. He builds his own empire without caving to the demands of his family.
Suddenly the stars align and Taylor and Grant find themselves together- but is there more to that story than either of them let on? Rebuilding off of shared history while keeping details from those closest to them - proves to be harder than they expect.
This book is actually a 4.5 but Goodreads doesn’t let me do that. I loved this book so much, my first book with the second chance trope and my goodness it has my heart. I love when the MMC is obsessed with his girl and yearns for her. “My wife” has to be my favourite quote of this book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was incredible! I found all of T Leigh’s books last month and devoured them all immediately and have been so excited for Taylor and Grant’s story! One of my favourite tropes is second chance and this was written beautifully 🩷
I adored how the story was intertwined with Gabby and Chase’s and it all flowed so well. The topics in this book were tough to read - many of my friends have gone through endometriosis but T Leigh handled it amazingly and only cried twice 😂
The found family in this book is wonderful and Daddy Mike I would love to see get a book 😛
I would recommend this series so much and thank you for the ARC 🩷
All. The. Stars!!! Taylor & Grant are hot, fun, swoony, and the “my wife” moments made this book!
Taylor and Grant met forever ago. Their history together is hot, angsty and soooooo sweet. The way they fell in love, is sooooo swoony! But life happened and years later they have found themselves back in each others orbit and it is amazing!!!
I mean it when I say, this is an absolute must read!!!
T. Leigh Turner is incredible. Her writing is entertaining, as you read, you fall in love with her characters. You feel for them, you love them, heck I wish they were my own friends!
This book, like all of T. Leigh Turner’s books blew me away!! Absolutely everything!!!
