I whispered my darkest fantasy. He made it my reality.
A moonlit pumpkin patch deep in the forest, where jack-o'-lanterns glow and fog clouds my vision. It's exactly the kind of place I’ve always dreamed of being hunted, chased by a masked man until I have nothing left to give.
Tonight, my fantasy is my reality.
As I run barefoot through the maze of orange lanterns, my heart pounding with terror, I realize my pursuer isn't just playing a game—he's staking a claim. Every step deeper into the patch brings me closer to surrender, further from any desire to escape.
The line between what’s real and not blurs.
And when the fog clears and the mask comes off, I’ll discover that some men don't just fulfill fantasies... they own them.
This Halloween, surrender isn't just part of the game. It's forever.
This novella is hard to put in one specific genre. Go in expecting erotic horror, and walk away feeling a romantic whirlwind.
Dana LeeAnn lives for the dark side of romance—the stalkier, the better. She originally used writing as an outlet to heal herself, but found it addictive, and has never stopped. Her books are packed with suspense and questionable love interests that will leave your heart racing at the turn of every page. When she’s not dreaming up new ways to torture her characters (and readers), she can be found in northern Colorado, exploring the mountains or dragging her husband into a new project around the house.
Luke is the definition of if he wanted to, he would. Like seriously… where can I get me one of those?! I literally said out loud, “get you a mannnnn that—” because WOW. He said, “Oh, you have fantasies?” I GOT YOU BABY
I fell in love with this little novella. It needs to be on everyone’s Halloween/fall TBR. There’s mask play, primal play..basically the dynamic duo for the perfect fall read.
This is the true definition of a binge read. A one-sitter. The perfect palate cleanser. Spicy, quick, and a little unhinged.
If you’ve ever dreamed about (safely) getting chased through a pumpkin patch by a masked man… yeah, you’re gonna love this one. The twist? Perfect. Unexpected. I had so much fun with this! 🎃
I absolutely loved the “Carving for Cara” Easter egg. It made me giggle
First off, I want to thank the author for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this novella before release. I always appreciate being trusted with early access, and I went in excited for a spooky, steamy Halloween read.
That said, I think readers should go in with adjusted expectations. This novella is marketed as “erotic horror,” but in reality, it doesn’t fully lean into the horror side at all. You feel that suspenseful worry in the first chapter, but it dissipates rather quickly. Instead, it’s a roleplay fantasy between the main character and her boyfriend, one that ends in a heartfelt proposal and a sweet wedding. The ending is very romantic and over-the-top in a way that many romance readers will love, but those expecting scares or true horror elements might come away disappointed.
As for the spice, the sex scenes are fine. They deliver on heat, but they don’t push boundaries in the way that many readers might expect from an erotica novella.
Overall, Pounded In the Patch reads less like horror erotica and more like a sexy, seasonal romance novella with a very sweet HEA. While it wasn’t quite what I anticipated, I think readers who love romantic gestures, Halloween vibes, and roleplay in their stories will find something to enjoy here.

Halloween novella with kidnapping by a masked man, chased through a pumpkin patch, and all the added high spice?! Yes please! This was a fun, fast paced, novella, with an added twist! Proof that the dark side can also be a little wholesome. I absolutely loved this one and flew through it! I cannot wait for book 2!! 🤭
Who wouldn’t love a smokin hot masked man chasing them through a pumpkin patch just to be completely worshiped by him once they’re caught? 👀 This was a short and sweet novella but it was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵 to say the least and Halloween being my fav holiday made the theme of this completely up my alley
This is the most PERFECT spooky and spicy Halloween novella that ends with the sweetest romance that had me all in my feels! I love when a book can combine filthy spice, gothic themes, and the most passionate romance. This one checked all the boxes for me and was an easy 5 star read!
The Carving for Cara reference was 💋*chef’s kiss* and the candy corn vibrator had me cackling.
And book two is CHRISTMAS THEMED?! Sign my Holly Jolly ass up for more of Luke & Sera immediately! I can’t wait! 🎄
With a title like Pounded in the Patch I had really high expectations. The first chapter was good. It helped set the scene for what I thought was going to be an erotic horror novella, as was advertised. But that’s where it lost me. The rest of the book read like a game of hide and seek, but not in a sexy way. After the first time he caught her I kept asking myself why she was running and why she be afraid of him. It really took me out of it.
The erotic nature of this book is also questionable. It reads like a 12 year old boy who’s horny and is doing his very best to describe what he wants to see. And by 70% of the way through we find out it’s her boyfriend? And they’ve planned this? And then they’re getting engaged? I wish there was an eye roll emoji strong enough to convey my thoughts on this book.

Thank you Dana LeeAnn for providing this e-ARC. All opinions are my own.
This was a fun little novella, and perfect for the upcoming fall season. I read it in one sitting and felt it was more of a scene rather than a story. It was detailed, descriptive, and I didn’t see the twist coming, but it wasn’t too shocking. I haven’t read the author’s other works, but there is a tie in where the characters reference it. Already on my TBR!
You know what, this one is a primal good time. Imagine this, you once told a man a scene that you read in a book that you found to be hot. It's a deep dark fantasy of yours that you could only dream to come true. But that man decides to take his time and perfectly curated your fantasy. He didn't leave out a single detail. And once it was time, he drugs you, kidnaps you and tells you to run in a pumpkin patch and if he catches you, he fucks your brains out... And they say romance is dead. Well newsflash, it is alive and thriving within the pages of our books. And if that deep dark fantasy of being fucked in a pumpkin patch after being chased by a masked man is your jam, then you need to read this book.
This one was a smutty good time. It was everything that I would have wanted and more for this halloween season. The plot was solely based on the above scenario. Just one night of a masked man who allows a woman to bring her deepest darkest fantasies to life without feeling guilty for wanting those things. It was short, sweet and one hell of a good time.
So if you are looking for a novella that will satisfy you mask kink, fear kink and primal play needs, this is the one for you! Dana LeeAnn straight delivered with this one and can't wait to see this couple get up to their primal needs in the next holiday novella!

3⭐️ Got the job done. Made me laugh at times. But, literally hated the happy ending. I don't know if there's something wrong with me or what but with this I was expecting something darker and this was pretty tame.
This book was a 10/10 for me!! I had the opportunity to receive an ARC of it and I'm so thankful! Super spicy, extra spooky and had a great story in my opinion! Had me fully hooked, my bf was into it as well hehe. I highly recommend reading this one if you're feeling spicy and looking for a spooky read! 🫶🏻
Loved!! Had the pleasure of Arc reading this and I devoured it! Such a fun, spicey, masked man perfect for the season dark romance! The Halloween vibes and possessive MMC was top notch. Luke is your perfect masked boyfriend! Can not wait to continue this series and follow these two into the next book!!
This is proof that dark can be wholesome. The ending had my ass all up in my feels. Yes, the beginning was questionable consent but keep going, you will be happy you did.
I now want a man that will hunt me down in a gothic pumpkin patch An issue I had was if she’s been dating this man 2 years, why couldn’t she tell it was him? At one point the tattoos were mentioned and she still didn’t know but as far as I’m aware he only had the jack o lantern mask on and nothing else to hide the identity… The whole story ended in a sweet romantic wedding which I enjoyed but went into this hoping for more dark gothic horror vibes. I think it’s marketed as an erotic horror and I felt this was far from it, it felt quite tame in comparison to what I’d personally class as the real deal.
BUT, it was spicy, it was unique, it was definitely hot and I enjoyed the primal play and a good palette cleanser if you want something fast and good to read within an hour! I just don’t think it’s marketed right so I may have rated higher if it wasn’t meant to be an erotic horror, just so I could evade disappointment.
Also, the candy-corn vibrator? Lord I liked that lol Also if you know me in real life and see that I’ve read this, mind your business…

First, I’d like to say how excited and appreciative I am to be able to read this arc, extremely grateful!
But, I’m sorry, I couldn’t finish it. It went from going somewhere good, to getting info confused, at first she was barefoot, then she had boots, and then she went back to being barefoot? She didn’t know what was going on or who this guy was but all of a sudden she knew everything, which in the long run could have been good! But then it went to a romance almost?
Like I said, this could have been so good, I saw the potential and how amazing it could be but I just couldn’t get behind it. 😅
I was super excited to be chosen as an ARC reader for this spicy spooky novella and I absolutely devoured this one!
It’s a quick read and immediately gets right into the action. It’s spooky, it’s spicy, even has an absolutely hilarious moment (candy corn, anyone?). The plot twist at the end is great! It goes from spicy dark romance to a very sweet and adorable ending.
This book drops on Oct 3rd and I highly recommend it for all the spooky dark romance babes! 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃

Oh boy… Now before I start remember everyone is entitled to their own opinions of a book..
Unfortunately for me, this book did not hit at all.. in fact once finishing all I felt was rage and disappointment..
From what I’d seen the marketing of this book I was so damn excited for what it promised, however what it delivered was complete polar opposite.
The first 2 chapters started off well, little bit of tension with her being “kidnapped” and restrained in a car, all aspects of promising a good spooky novella. Once they arrived at their pumpkin patch and she was told to run I thought okay good here we go with a great primal spicy chase scene.. but that never happened, the spice felt almost on the edge of being closed door and read very mediocre.
The “twist” of it actually being her partner didn’t give the OMG moment I think it was intending to, and from there it all just escalated downhill very quickly, with the proposal, wedding and next thing we’re in a Christmas tree farm??
I also felt like the content warnings were somewhat misleading. Knife play? Should have been worded as removal of clothing with a knife rather than play. The same for “blood” the only aspect was fake blood from her costume.
For me it was marketed as a super spicy, masked man , spooky Halloween novella and it read more like a seasonal romance with a dash of spice, if that’s you’re thing you’ll probably really enjoy the book, I just wish it was marketed that way which could have avoided the level of disappointment I have with it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of Pounded In The Patch. I went in to this not really knowing what to expect! I really loved it. The story weaving in this novella was excellent. I wouldn’t call this “horror” per se, but it definitely had its suspenseful moments. There were breadcrumbs of the “twist” laid throughout the story, but I was still surprised when it happened! A wonderful, filth filled book, that is a quick, and spooky read. A must-read for smut and Halloween lovers alike!
I can’t say much more without giving away anything good. 😉 But the beginning dedication sells it for me 😅 “For those who want their pumpkin spice with a side of being absolutely ruined by a masked man”
I don’t know what I expected walking into a book titled Pounded in the Patch—but what I got was a five-star fever dream with the most unexpectedly swoony MMC I’ve read in a while.
Yes, the premise is insane. Yes, the setting involves a very suggestive pumpkin patch. But here’s the thing, this man? This literal pumpkin-spiced menace of a man? He is perfect. Obsessed, attentive, and deliciously deranged in all the right ways. Like, where can I order one for myself and pay for overnight shipping?
Dana LeeAnn knew exactly what she was doing, she gave us chaos, steam, laughs, and somehow… feelings. I’m still not okay. I will never walk through a pumpkin patch the same way again.
This is not just a book. It’s a lifestyle choice. 🍂😮💨
i’ve been in a slump so i was just looking for something fast and smutty to read and this definitely checked off those boxes. plus on top of that, its perfect for spooky season.
it’s marked as erotic horror so i was expecting MUCH darker. this wasn’t dark at all in my opinion and i didn’t feel any horror vibes? maybe the first chapter was a bit suspenseful but other than that it was a normal smutty story.
overrall, this was what i needed and it was a good story! was this anything special? no but it did its job for me and i’ll definitely be reading the next book in this series!
You had me at “good girl” I devoured this little novella in one sitting and could not put it down. It has a strong intro that grips you from the first page. It hit all of the kinks for me without any icks. Seriously the perfect balance between downright dirty and romantic with a sweet ending. An October must-read for all the dark romance lovers! It was right up my alley but sensitive readers should consider the trigger warnings.
