I never should have agreed to marry my older brother's best friend, but I was in a bit of a jam.

Aston Hughes is gorgeous, arrogant, and irritatingly broody. The single dad is also the new trauma surgeon at my hospital and my temporary roommate.

Two years ago, we shared a mistaken kiss during a blackout, and nothing's been right between us since.

So really, I shouldn't have said yes when he suggested a marriage of convenience.

But after leaving my bad ex behind, I discover I'm pregnant with his baby, and I'm scared.

Aston offers to marry me as protection from my ex in exchange for helping out with his daughter, who needs more stability in her life after recently losing her mother. It's an unfortunate no-brainer.

Only what starts as a simple business arrangement quickly turns messy. Heated. Soon he's no longer fighting with me but for me as he calls me his wife and claims my baby as his.

Except nothing is that simple or easy for any of us.

Now here I am, falling for the hotshot doctor and his daughter while our lives come undone around us.

Forever Undone begins the Forever Boston series by J. Saman ,which continues the generational stories of the Fritz' family in Boston. In this case we continue to be in the hospital in the pediatric unit. Which is just rife with the opportunity to pull at your heart.

We have Skylar, a pediatric nurse, who has just gotten out of an abusive relationship and moved into her brother's house, while he is serving a term with Doctors without Borders overseas. She is worn out, tired, and SO OVER men. Trying to find herself a little bit.

Enter Aston, her older brother's Best Friend, and a single dad who has ALSO been promised a place to live at her brother's house. His daughter is grieving the loss of her mother, Aston's ex-wife, and looking for something stable. Aston has also been hired to replace Skylar's brother as a pediatric surgeon at the same hospital as Sky. So, won't that just be cozy?

Oh, and we can't forget, they also kissed in the dark two years ago at a party and neither has been able to forget the feelings they felt before the lights came back on. And when Skylar discovers she is pregnant by her abusive ex, Aston offers to step in as a husband and protector against the creep. Which is SUPER helpful for putting space between them!

I adored these two together. I loved Zoey and how she bonded with Sky. I love Not His Baby trope and how that played out. This whole book was my catnip from beginning to end. I think it was compulsively readable and I finished it all in one sitting.

Narrated in duet by JF Harding and CJ Bloom. It was great to hear a duet narration from J. Saman, as I believe this first I've had from her that was!

5 Stars
3 on the spice scale

CW: Abusive ex-partner, gas-lighting, scenes of medical drama with children, grief of a child (Aston's ex is dead and his daughter is grieving)

this could have been great but instead it was just meh.

brothers best friend
single dad
pregnant but not his baby
age gap (10 yrs)
nurse x doctor
marriage of convenience

they kissed two year ago in a dark bathroom. once the lights came on and he realized who she was it was game over. big mistake blah blah. he was recently divorced, his ex wife cheated on him. two years later the ex wife just died and he moved back to Boston to be close to family. turns out the fmc’s brother told both of them they could stay in his house so we have a bit of a roommate situation neither is happy about. they constantly bicker and it seems neither of them can forget about the kiss.

there’s lots of mutual but hidden pining between both of them. i feel like this author’s books typically go this way - deny attraction until the mmc finally snaps. and the fmc’s ALWAYS just give in and everything is happily ever after 🙄

let’s not start with them getting married because she’s pregnant with her ex (who’s abusive and obsessed with getting her back) and he thinks it will be good for his daughter to have a steady person in her life after the death of her mother. those were the stupidest reasons ever to me and didn’t even cross my mind as a good idea.

i didn’t like that he’s basically living the life he lived with his first wife but only he wasn’t biologically this baby’s dad. he hooked up with his ex wife in a club and she got pregnant. they dated and he fell in love with her while she was pregnant. it’s basically the same thing happening (he even says this lol) with the fmc.

OH AND SHE’S NEVER HAD AN ORGASM FROM A MAN!!! who’s surprised??? NOT ME

once he finally gets over himself and lets himself want her it’s sweet, he’s totally in 100% with her and her baby. it’s “their baby” he has no problems with everyone thinking he’s the biological dad.

I loved being in this world. It's always a comfort. I loved Aston, Skylar and Zoey. Sky and Zoey's bond was so sweet. I'm excited to see where this series will go (I'm super curious about Micha). Thank you to valentine pr for this arc.

"All women have rainbows. We just have to find the sun through the rain in order to see them."~Skylar🤩

"God, Skylar, you have so much power over me, and you don't even see it. I'm yours."~Aston🥰

Wow!!🎉🎉 The Boston Billionaires world continues and I'm excited to be back in Boston with the dynasty that is the Fritz Hughes families, the next generation. It all begins at a party, Valentine's Day, an unfortunate blackout right when single Dad Aston Hughes walks into the bathroom, the door was unlocked, and he briefly saw a woman with blonde hair... before the blanket of darkness. He's been drinking. Not overly. Aston has been dealing with a divorce, his wife cheated and was remarrying... So the man, with his loneliness and hurt, got his flirt back on. The unknown woman sassed him and flirted back. And there was a kiss. No ordinary kiss either. You know the kind, it makes a person tingle with anticipation.😘🫦😘 Till the lights came back on.💡😳😲😨🙈 Nooo. It's his best friend's Micha's little sister, Skylar. Not underage just not the woman he wanted to desire in that way.😫 They hadn't seen each other in five or six years. Words are said, mean ones, and that was that.

2yrs later finds Skylar Davenport, 25, a pediatric nurse, busy and trying to hold her emotions to herself. She has trauma, especially from her abusive now ex-boyfriend Josh. I could not stand that guy. He's a creep! He's the main cause of the many insecurities, doubts, overthinking garbage that Skylar deals with everyday. They also happen to work in the same hospital which doesn't help. But no one would guess what she hides. She only confides in her bestie Braelyn and her group of friends/family. Then the unthinkable happens. The kiss that she hadn't forgotten about, that annoys her to no end, manifested itself when she ran into Aston Hughes. He just moved back to Boston, with his 5yr old daughter Zoey. But it doesn't end there. They thought it would, but no. Not by a long shot. The bantering reaches an all annoying high.😂😂😂

I love Skylar. She's sassy, carefree with an upbeat personality, she's honest and over shares 99% of the time.lol I think it's her way of never having had the chance to experience that before. Now she's bratty, in charge, and doesn't care.🧨💥🧨💥🧨💥 She's going to make Aston regret his words from 2 years ago. She doesn't realize how beautiful she is. But Aston will show her.💌💌💌

Now what happens when Aston 35, with his little daughter, and luggage, should unlock Micha's fancy home and suddenly encounter.🤨 Micha is a doctor working out of the country in Africa. The woman that he seems to argue with, that he loves to prove himself to, he angry flirts with, the woman who gave him the kiss to end all kisses.💋💋💋 Don't tell Skylar that.ha! That's right people. Skylar Davenport is living in her brother's home. It goes off the rails as they each demand for the other to leave.🤣🤣 Listen, Aston, that's his sister, you have a kid, you're a doctor, start house hunting buddy.😝 That's my opinion. But Aston, uses his daughter, sorry, he does, to sway Skylar to not upend Zoey's new home life. Aston's ex-wife had recently passed and Zoey needs stability. So naturally, what is Skylar going to say to that?🏘️🪧💼

There's so much drama, flirting, regret, then flirting again happening with these 2 that I didn't know what to expect.😄😄 This is a slow burn story. It kept building up the fire, the push and pull, the inappropriate questions from Aston, who's so jealous over any man who goes near or talks to Skylar. There's close proximity. Family dynamics. Zoey is cute and sassy too. She's attached to Skylar. And the extra something something is that Skylar and Aston work together too.🩺🏥🩺🚑 With the creeper Josh.😤 Aston is a Pediatrics Trauma Surgeon.

This is an enemies to lovers to not in this lifetime to please kiss me you fool and hold me forever type of romance.😭😭😍 Expect humor. An unplanned pregnancy. A marriage to end all marriages. Lies. Secrets. Sabotage. Twists. Family getting involved. And let's talk about the spice and hotness!!!🔥🌋🔥🌋🔥 Gahh. And the dirty talk from this man. Doctor Hughes. Stopp.😏 Aston does mess up more often than not. Dude. Why did you say that? Shush!! He can be an @$$. He's a grump dealing with being a single Dad, working hard, trying to hold it together, therapy for his child, he's trying to not want Skylar but he wants her sooo bad.🤭🤭 He's over-protective, a supporter, a giver, his heart is on his sleeve for Zoey and Skylar. Skylar loves Zoey. They're cute together.🌷❄️☃️❄️🌷

I love the book. It was hard to stop reading it. World building is here. The story didn't miss a beat. It's written well. Like I wrote, it's a slow burn but stick with it b/c it's worth it. I love the characters. Aston grew on me. Ego maniac that he is.😆 There's 2 epilogues. The book cover is fun. I like the one with 'Aston' on the cover. For obvious reasons.😉 HEA. Well done Ms Saman.🥳 I can't wait for the next one in the series. Happy reading.*•>§<•*💗💗💗💗

Forever Undone is the first book in the Forever Boston series. This is single dad, surprise pregnancy (not his baby), roommates, age gap, brother’s best friend, marriage of convenience, and this is angsty!

Two years ago on Valentine’s Day, Aston and Skylar kissed in the dark. They parted in a hurry. Now, Aston just moved back to Boston with his daughter, Zoe. He moved into Skylar’s brother’s house, which is where she is living after leaving her abusive relationship who unfortunately works at the same hospital as her. Skylar is afraid of her ex who won’t leave her alone. Especially after she found out that she is pregnant. Zoe has gone through a lot, and has bonded with Skylar. Aston still thinks about that kiss from two years ago, but he’s more interested in protecting Skylar from her ex and helping Zoe cope with her trauma, so he proposes a marriage of convenience. Except that it doesn’t stay fake for long.

Forever Undone is my first J. Saman novel. It was angsty, but it had a lot of heart with fantastic character development! Skylar and Zoe were particularly sympathetic characters. Aston is an emotionally strong and controlled hero that supported his girls. I loved how Aston handled everything that was thrown at them. The spice didn’t counterbalance the romance, which I loved. I loved how Skylar and Zoe bonded. I understood and it was reaffirmed why Skylar panicked and didn’t want to tell her ex that she was pregnant. What tipped it from 4.5 star rating to 5 stars was Micah, Skylar’s brother. I loved his reactions and his deviousness!

The audiobook was well narrated in duet style JF Harding & CJ Bloom. I would recommend listening to the audiobook when it is released on February 15th!

Thank you to Must Love Audio for an ALC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was angsty, steamy, and packed with emotional depth. It was the kind of romance that pulls at your heart while still delivering all the tension you want from a grumpy single dad story.

Aston is a pediatric trauma surgeon and fiercely devoted father who is completely undone by the one woman he shouldn’t want-his best friend’s little sister. Aston is guarded, intense, and a little arrogant on the surface. He falls first and hard. Watching him shift from fighting with Skylar to fighting for her was super amazing.

Skylar is sunshine wrapped around steel. She's fresh out of toxic relationship and unexpectedly pregnant, she’s vulnerable but far from weak. I loved that her sass never disappears, even when she’s hurting.

The forced proximity and workplace tension crank up the heat fast. Sharing a condo. Working at the same hospital. Pretending to be married. The chemistry between Aston and Skylar is intense from the start, and once the emotional walls start cracking, the steam absolutely delivers. The banter is sharp, the tension delicious, and the protective streak in Aston...yeah...

The emotional push and pull can feel overwhelming at times. There’s a lot happening. There's pregnancy, grief, ex-drama, family tension...and occasionally it borders on too much. But for readers who love high emotion and big romantic gestures, that intensity will be a plus.

This book was a heartfelt, steamy, grumpy, single dad romance with real emotional payoff.

While I'm obvioulsy fan girling, I'm not hiding my excitement for J. Saman's books. She's not exactly a new author to me, but she is definitely a new "click download, no excuses, automatic read." for me. Full stop.

Thank you to VPR publishing and J. Saman for the amazing opportunity to read this novel before it was published. This is my honest review.

Some love stories feel inevitable, and this was definitely one of them.

Forever Undone pulls you in with Aston and Skylar’s complicated history, starting with one charged Valentine’s Day moment they were never supposed to have. Years later, being forced to live together and enter a marriage of convenience brings all those buried feelings back to the surface. The tension, banter, and constant push and pull between them made their connection feel intense and impossible to ignore.

What really made this story shine was the emotional vulnerability underneath it all. Aston stepping in to protect Skylar and her baby, while trying to be strong for his daughter, showed such a tender and human side to him. Watching Skylar slowly find safety, belonging, and love with them created such a warm found family feeling. The quiet protective gestures and those soft “my wife” moments made their relationship feel earned and deeply emotional.

There were moments where Aston’s walls and stubbornness were frustrating, and the pacing felt slightly uneven at times, but the emotional payoff made it worth it. Their journey felt raw, heartfelt, and easy to become invested in from start to finish.

This was the kind of love story that sneaks into your heart and stays there.

Julie Saman is without a doubt one of my favorite authors. Her books feel like pure comfort, like indulging in your favorite comfort food after a long, exhausting day. They’re healing for the mind and have this beautiful ability to instantly make everything feel a little brighter. Her stories make me genuinely happy, and that feeling lingers long after I’ve turned the final page.

Everything about this book was absolutely perfect, I love the “it was always you”, best friend’s little sister tropes. The story was beautifully written and completely immersive from beginning to end, and I loved every single moment of it. I adore the hospital setting of this series, and it was so wonderful to read more about the characters from the previous series. I love those families and it truly felt like reconnecting with old friends. I absolutely loved Skylar and Aston, and Zoey made this story even better! I really can wait for the rest of this series!

🎧 duet

I've found my favorite J Saman book! This had me swooning and blushing. Aston & Skylar shared a kiss on Valentine's Day two years earlier and he instantly pulled away. Now he's moving back to town with his daughter in tow, and sharing her brother’s condo.

I love the instant connection Skylar had with Aston's daughter, Zoe. She liked Zoe before she liked Aston, which made the decision to marry Aston easy. She would be the positive female influence in Zoe's life and in return, the marriage would get Zoe's crazy ex/baby daddy to leave her alone.

What to expect:
▫️single dad
▫️pregnant but not his baby
▫️forced proximity
▫️age gap
▫️brother's best friend
▫️marriage of convenience (until it's not 😉)

Narrated in duet by JF Harding & CJ Bloom. They are great narrators and were perfect foe these characters.

Thanks to Valentine PR for ALC.

You know, J. Saman always delivers great love stories. Which is definitely the case with "Forever Undone".

Skyler comes out of a bad relationship, and is still trying to recover. Aston is her brother's best friend who had just received full custody after the mother of his little girl passed away. Both of them need time and a better surprise will be when they find out that they will be leaving under the same roof. These two shared a moment 2 years ago but never did anything about it. Even so that since then, Aston has been thinking only about her when it comes to women. To make matters better, they decide to get into a fake marriage. There are bonuses for both of them — Skyler's ex will stop bothering her and Aaron's daughter will have stability. But when old sparks are still renewed with more chemistry this time, they have to make it work.

I honestly loved these two. They were like fire & ice. One moment they want to be together and the next they are afraid of how this will affect their friendship. But when it comes to love, the heart wants what it wants. I loved Skyler's relationship with his daughter and I could definitely see her love. Aston, on the other hand, knew that there wouldn't be another woman for him, and he was so patient with her. He wasn't ashamed to say his feelings but still waited for her to admit hers. And when she found out that she was pregnant with her ex's baby, he stepped up straight away and accepted it as his own. He knew she returned his feeling she just needed time. When she finally made that step toward him, I could see how deep they fell in love.

The only thing I hated in this story was Skyler's ex. He was a horrible human being and to me, he deserved worse punishment than that.

It will not be me if I don't say anything about the love scenes. OMG... the passion between those two was so damn hot. The chemistry was sizzling all the time, and I was waiting for the moment when they would get together. Everything happening between them was so spicy and full of so much smut that I just wanted more. We also have seen some kinky moments, which I loved loved loved 🥵. But when it comes to this author, I don't expect anything less. She is a master when it comes to the sexy times.

Overall, I loved reading "Forever Undone" and I can't wait for the other books from the series ❤️.

Valentine’s Day - Aston is kissing an unknown woman in a dark bathroom and he feels alive for the first time in who knows how long. If only the power wasn’t out and he knew who she was. Or so he thought?

What happens when the power comes on and the wrong person sees them exiting the bathroom separately, but right after each other? Neither of them know this of course.

Aston and Skyler work together to keep her safe from Josh. It is proof that verbal and emotional abuse is just as damaging to a person as physical abuse in a relationship.

I like when Aston tells Skyler this ❤️

“I cup her jaw with my other hand. I will never hurt you. I will never degrade you. I will always care for and respect you.i will never treat you as anything less than the beautiful, smart, funny, feisty, pain-in-the-a$$, incredible woman that you are.” ❤️

Aston will do anything to protect Skyler, but I love the moment it hits him that he LOVES her. Same for her, because she will do anything to protect Zoey and Aston. They create their perfect little family until Josh keeps happening everywhere 😳😳

But the best part of the story is that they think they are playing their family, but when you are a Fritz you never know what is in the plans!

This book was really good and I loved Aston and Zoey. Both had a lot of past history that they had to heal from, plus Aston had Zoey who was dealing with the loss of her mom.

J. Saman is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and Forever Undone only confirms that. I loved this story so much.

“You can’t have a new reality with an old mentality.” 🤍

Fresh out of an abusive relationship, Skylar is trying to find her peace again. Her story truly moved me, discovering the scars a toxic relationship can leave behind, but also how little people sometimes realize the impact their words can have. Sky is such an interestingly built character because, because beneath her insecurities, there’s a warm and loving person. It’s no surprise Aston can’t resist her.

“I’ve known loneliness for so long it’s become the only color I wear. I’m tired of it.”

Of course, his attraction to Sky also comes with plenty of fears for Aston, which makes it fascinating to watch him navigate them. Not only is she his best friend’s baby sister, but their lives are complicated in their own ways as well. I loved that their relationship starts off on the wrong foot, leaving room for some delicious interactions. Oh, I absolutely adored Sky’s sharp tongue! Gradually, though, it grows into something more, and I loved how gentle and caring Aston is with her.

Zoey is such a sweet and clever child. I truly grew fond of her. I also loved watching the bond that develops between her and Skylar. Seeing Aston in his role as a father puts him in such a positive light. He always keeps Zoey at the heart of every decision he makes.

“All women have rainbows. We just have to find the sun through the rain in order to see them.”

J. Saman always delivers! Forever Undone puts us back in Boston with the Fritz and Hughes families (there is a family tree at the beginning of the book, if needed), where the romance between Skylar Fritz Davenport and Aston Hughes blooms. We have lots of fun tropes: age gap, brother’s best friend, enemies to lovers, as well as Saman’s signature spice. A quick, fun read.

I’ll stay it again—give me all the not his baby books. Seeing a man take on a true partnership role throughout a pregnancy even though the baby isn’t biologically his will never not leave me in a puddle.

I listened to the audio for this one and JF Harding gave a great performance as Aston. CJ Bloom narrated for Skylar and did a solid job as well.

Do make sure to read TWs as there is discussion and on-page DV (not between MCs). I felt that for the most part, this was thoughtfully written, but there was one bit of internal monologue that might be distressing for someone who’s been in a similar situation.

Single dad, Aston, is looking for some stability for his daughter who is grieving over the death of her mother. Skyler is in the midst of escaping an abusive relationship, just to find out she is pregnant with the man's baby. As her brother's best friend, the only solution is for Aston to step up for Skyler, get married, and raise the girls together, right?

I was already missing my favorite Boston billionaire doctors and this new series took us right back! I love a good next generation! From sexy surgeons to bad@ss nurses and all the love in between - it was so good being back 🥰 The rest of the series is about to be 🔥

Another most excellent story!

I’m not sure how she does it, but none if the gazillion doctor romances ever feels like it’s been done before and I never get tired of them.

I do liv all these tripe’s and enemies to lovers is one of the very best… even though Skylar and Aston were never really enemies… simply scared and protective of their hearts. Well done.

This is one of those fictional worlds I wish would never end, and this next-gen series combines families from several well-loved worlds created by this gifted storyteller. Don’t worry, there are family trees provided so you can see how everyone fits together.

This time we have Aston Hughes and Skylar Fritz Davenport who find their forever. He's a single dad, she's expecting a baby from someone who's not Aston, and a marriage of convenience works for both of them. Except Skylar's older brother and Aston are best friends, and Aston got the warning about the little sister years ago. Oh, and they happen to be living together in said brother's apartment.

With enough drama for a telenovela and steam that's a touch on the naughty side, my favorite parts are the strong, found-family bonds and the sweetest relationship between Skylar and little Zoey. I was also tickled by Micha and his machinations and can’t wait to read his story! Full of charm, drama, heart, and the best banter this side of the Mississippi, you'll want to dive into this one right away.

All of my accidental pregnancy books have been another man’s baby and I am so here for it, but also what is this new trend?!? Skylar is a part of Boston’s royal medical family and is a pediatric nurse who has recently left a terrible abusive relationship and is living in her brother’s house when Aston and his daughter also move in due to a mix up. They agree to live together for a short period to allow for Skylar to find a new place to live, but these two are like oil and water. They take what the other says the complete wrong way and it just spirals from there except they keep kissing haha.

These two, they had some underlying tension and once they live together for a while it just combusts, but the breaking point? The pregnancy marriage combo all to keep Skylar’s ex from knowing about the baby. I love fake dating, but mixing in so many other connections where these two are anything other than strangers makes the fake marriage way more complicated and I am so here for the meddling family and friends.

I love this new series of Fitz Hughes group and I cannot wait for all the new couples in this series!

I really enjoyed this but ultimately it felt really tropey to me. I felt like some were unnecessary and the story would have been so much better. I still had a good time reading it and will read more of this authors work!

What a way to kick off a new series! When I tell you there isn’t a J. Saman book yet that I haven’t absolutely LOVED and this one did NOT disappoint!

Tropes:
🩵 fake marriage
🩵 surprise pregnancy (not his)
🩵 single dad
🩵 brothers best friend
🩵 age gap
🩵 enemies to lovers
🩵 forced proximity
🩵 workplace romance
🩵 GrumpyxSunshine

Aston & Skylar have known each other for years.....Micha, Skylar's brother is Aston's best friend. While at a party the lights go out and Aston is stuck in the bathroom with a "stranger" turns out its Skylar, the two share an intimate kiss not knowing who the other one is and instantly freak out when the lights come back on. Although they never spoke about it again, they still see each other as they exist in the same social circles. Aston recently became a single dad when his ex-wife passed away and her husband wanted nothing to do with the child. Skylar is living in Micha's apartment while he's in Africa working and is shocked one day when she has additional houseguests......Aston and his daughter, a surprise that Skylar knew nothing about and Micah "forgot" to tell her. Skylar and Aston both work in the Pediatric unit at Boston Hospital, along with Skylar's crappy ex-boyfriend Josh. While Skylar has been there for a while, Aston is just starting since moving with his daughter. The nurses are immediately smitten with Aston and curious about his life and getting to "know him better" something he wants NOTHING to do with.

As the two of them navigate their new roommate situation, Skylar begins to develop her own relationship with Zoey. Soon after, Skylar discovers she's pregnant......with Josh's baby a not ideal situation given how terribly he treated her while they were together. While talking one night with Aston, Skylar lets him know she's pregnant and he offers a solution.....a fake marriage. Aston feels it will keep Zoey structured as she's been missing her mom greatly and having a lot of issues from it and also prevents Josh from having to know about the baby. However, explaining the situation to the nosy hospital staff sure poses an issue since her break-up is quite fresh and Aston JUST got to the hospital.

Nevertheless the two of them go ahead with it, explaining to their families the situation, well to everyone except Micha who's unavailable due to his location. As the two begin to settle into "married life" Skylar realizes that she may have actual feelings for Aston, but she pushes them down because he's "doing her a favor" so she doesn't think the feelings would be reciprocated (if their little moment in the kitchen after their "wedding" doesn't prove to her that he has even the slightest bit of feelings idk what does lol).

Aston soon realizes that theres a lot of errors occurring with his patients and is concerned someone is sabotaging him. While in a procedure with Josh, Josh makes some comments that lead Aston to believe he is indeed correct and he's being sabotaged. While put on leave for "errors" leaving Skylar in the hospital with no one to protect her from Josh, he aggressively confronts her about her and Aston's relationship and while basically confessing to screwing with Aston, discovers she's pregnant and that it is in fact his. After their confrontation, Skylar, with obvious marks on her neck goes to the Chief of Medicine to let him know what happened, what Josh did to Aston and the truth about Josh as a person only to find Michaela in the office confessing her part in Aston's take down insisting she never thought Josh would put patients in actual harm. Hearing all this Dr. Weinberg immediately reinstates Aston and fires Josh. Skylar then takes the necessary legal steps to protect herself, Zoey, Aston and her unborn child.

Aston and Skylar begin to truly try for a relationship, no longer ignoring their feelings. While home one night they hear the alarm go off only to discover Micha has come home and discover that Micha was in fact behind this "roommate" situation having known the two of them had feelings for each other despite either one admitting it.

Aston and Skylar are two people who have been so damaged in past relationships that their guard is so high up that they don't know how to let anyone in or feel worthy of anyones love. I loved their story and the fact that they let their guards down to let each other in during their difficult times.

I received this as an ARC and ALC from J. Saman as part of her ARC team.....CJ Bloom and JF Harding gave an AMAZING performance of this story!

Enemies to lovers-Age gap-Banter-Marriage of convenience-Single dad

4.25⭐️ 3🌶️ REVIEW: 📖 FOREVER UNDONE 📖 By J. Saman ✨ This is my first J. Saman book and I loved it! It’s book 1 of the Forever Boston series. We get banter, tension, angst, a down bad MMC, a sassy FMC, great character development, and delicious spice 🥵. Plus, Aston had a surprisingly dirty mouth 😮‍💨. There’s also incredible family support and found family vibes. 🫶🏻

Aston Hughes is a pediatric trauma surgeon, and just moved back to Boston with his 5-yr old daughter, Zoey. Skylar Davenport is a nurse and his best friend’s sister, and they just found out they will be working together at Boston Children’s Hospital. Which is awkward because they shared a passionate kiss in the dark at a Valentine’s Day party 2 years ago to the day, which Aston called a ‘mistake’. 😞 But, oops, they’re also living together since Skylar’s brother, Micha, told Aston he could stay there, conveniently forgetting that Skylar already is living there. 🤭

They both think about the kiss from 2 years ago but don’t want to admit it - Aston because he already got his heart broken once, and Skylar because she just left her narcissistic abusive ex and she wants to focus on herself. There’s so much built-up tension, though, that once Skylar finds out she is pregnant (by her ex) and Aston asks her to marry him to help Zoey with missing her mom, their chemistry is inevitable. Skylar still has a sharp tongue and keeps Aston on his toes but he is so gentle and caring with her because he knows she was mistreated by her toxic ex. Aston tells her she is beautiful, kind, smart, amazing, all of the things her ex said she wasn’t. 😢 He helps her become the confident woman she wants to be.

She’s never had an O w/a partner, and when she tells him he wouldn’t be able to - he says ‘challenge accepted’ 🤭. He’s such a good guy but also has a filthy mouth, and she loves his praise and when he takes control 🫡. He calls her ‘my little swan’ 🦢, and she calls him ‘daddy’ just to mess with him. 🤣 She’s afraid to repeat old habits and get swallowed up by a man that will hurt her, but with Aston she’s able to let go and trust again. He’s a goner - When he’s with Zoey and Skylar he feels whole and complete.

❤️ He 👅 his fingers clean 💦
❤️ 📿 🪢
❤️ 🖐️ 🍑 🐱
❤️ The hair pulling 🥵
❤️ ‘Look at me’ 👀
❤️ ‘Mine’
❤️ He washes her hair 🫠

Favorite quotes:
Even if getting under her skin so she'll mouth off to me seems to be my new favorite hobby.

This is exactly why living with Skylar Davenport is a bad idea. She takes up too much space in a room, in a conversation, in my head.

And the way she talks to me? I wish I didn't like her sassy mouth as much as I do.

I'm not sure anything in my life has ever felt truly right except for Zoey and Skylar.

But Aston sees me, all of me, the good and the bad, and he's still looking at me like I'm his sun.

I will never treat you as anything less than the beautiful, smart, funny, feisty, incredible woman that you are. I'm yours.

Read this if you like:
*Forbidden/workplace romance

I absolutely adore everything J Saman writes, but there's something truly special about her Boston/Doctor universe. I love every single character, and with this being a spinoff of the previous Boston series, we get even more characters introduced, and are given insight to just how everyone is connected and their history with one another.

For this one, we have Skylar and Aston. These two shared a random kiss a few years ago in the dark, with both of them unaware of who the other person was. Aston reacted badly to it, and he and Skylar haven't really been in the same place at once since, and they are both grappling with how that one experience somehow changed both of them. Skylar is coming out of an emotionally abusive relationship so her walls are up even higher than usual, and Aston is a single dad just trying to catch a break for him and his daughter-- who finds himself living with the bane of his existence. The more time they spend around one another though, the more that tension between them skyrockets, to the point where it can't be ignored... and then Skylar's world is tilted on its axis, and Aston is the one to help her through an impossible situation. But will this be the thing that finally gives them a second chance? Can Aston trust a relationship again, especially since it's not just him he's worried about? Can his daughter find a home too?

There is SO much angst and I am here for it!!! The emotional connection is so strong here, and I truly appreciated that, especially given their complicated history and all that Skylar was going through. She was such a relatable FMC and how she fought for herself, to see that she was worth so much more than her useless ex said she was? TEARS. She's such a fighter! I also loved her connection with Aston's daughter, and just how quickly they bonded. It really felt like all the pieces were falling into place so organically with them -- if they just stopped fighting it.

The marriage of convenience was such a nice touch here, and also a brothers best friend romance (which i love!!) but I also really loved how it didn't take the "traditional" route with that trope.

My only small gripe was that there was so much emphasis put on this being a fake marriage and how hot and cold Aston was at first. once he got his head on straight he was amazing though! I can't wait for the next book in the series!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

Book: Forever Undone

Book one of the Forever Boston Series

Aston Hughes and Skylar Davenport Fritz have a past. One night on Valentine’s Day, they kissed without knowing who each other was, once they found out, they regretted it because Aston is Skylar’s brother’s best friend and they are off limit. Two years later, Aston moves back from LA to start over with his daughter Zoey after her mother died. Skylar is a nurse at the hospital that he’s going to start working as a pediatric surgeon. She does not know that he’s going to be her co-worker, however when she finds out, she’s not happy about it.

Once she finds out she’s pregnant with her ex’s baby, she gets upset because she does not want him to know. He was very abusive of her and she does not want a father as him for her child. That’s when Aston comes up with the idea that they get married, he can help her with the baby situation and she would help his daughter have a better life. Reluctantly she agrees and they get married.

Even though, they can’t stand each other, they can’t deny the sparks between them. As time goes by, they try to ignore each other, but they can’t. They decide to give their fake marriage a chance and even through all their up and downs, they make it through. Aston loves Skylar and the unborn as if it was his. He’s very protective of Skylar and it’s always there for her. Love that they got the HEA that they deserved.

loved them

This book was a mix of all my favourite tropes that were woven together in such a way that it will forever be imprinted into my head.

Skylar hasn’t had the best relationships but her last one took the cake as she tries to distance herself from her emotionally abusive ex who she still works with. The situation only gets more complicated when she discovers that she is pregnant.

Aston just moved back to Boston with his little girl, who is grieving the loss of her mother, and isn’t thrilled to realize that the house that was offered to him by his best friend comes with a roommate, his little sister. The chemistry between this two is immediate even if they try to hide it between their banter.

When Skylar confides her situation to Aston, they decide to engage in a marriage of convenience which would benefit them both. Once that decision is made, we go through an emotional journey as these two come to terms with their situation and the feelings they have been hiding.

This book had me kicking my feet, gasping at certain parts, swooning when Aston lets his playful side out and smiling while meeting a new cast of characters. So excited for this series to continue.

Forever Undone
By J. Saman

“I can’t help it. I try. I really do. But something about you is like being on the edge of temptation to me, and no matter how long I’m good for, you always manage to turn me bad again.”

Forget the edge of temptation, his kisses throw me straight to the edge of chaos.

No one has ever made me this wild before. Has ever undone me to my core. But that’s Aston Hughes. He has me forever undone.

Excuse me?! Dr. Aston Hughes is a pediatric surgeon during day, and a filthy mouth sex god at night! Skylar is one lucky fake wife! I loved this book so much! Aston is so swoony and sexy and I love getting to see Skylar transform and grow during the story. But what I really love is how these two don’t fight the attraction between them! This is my first J. Saman book and clearly I dived head first into this new world and have lots of characters to meet! I cannot wait to start!

❤️ Grumpy Single Dad Surgeon
❤️ Enemies to Lovers
❤️ Marriage of Convenience
❤️ Brother’s Best Friend
❤️ Workplace Romance
❤️ He Falls First

Single dad trauma surgeon? Yeah, I was sold immediately.

The tension between Aston and Skylar is ridiculous from the start. The accidental blackout make-out two years ago still living rent free in their heads? Amazing. And the fact that she knees him and then insists she never liked him? I was laughing. Their dynamic is pure chaos in the best way.

The banter is so good. “I’d rather bathe in acid than have you look at me.” Meanwhile Aston is internally spiraling and pretending he’s completely unaffected. Skylar is coming out of a toxic relationship, Aston is pretending this marriage is purely practical, and absolutely no one is buying it, especially not me. He keeps telling himself he’s just protecting her, keeping things simple… while calling her my wife and losing it anytime she’s near him. And honestly? The marriage of convenience actually works here because there’s real stuff on the line. Josh is genuinely unsettling, which makes Aston’s protective streak hit harder. Add forced proximity, meddling moms, and a very observant daughter who isn’t afraid to call her dad out, and it’s just nonstop romantic chaos.

But underneath the tension and steam, there’s softness. Skylar with Zoey. Aston stepping up without even realizing how deep he’s in. Those quiet moments are what really sold me.

Is Aston arrogant? Yes. Does he make questionable decisions while claiming he’s “keeping it uncomplicated”? Also yes. But watching him fall, and fall hard, was incredibly satisfying.

Dramatic, emotional, protective-hero chaos with a well-earned HEA. I’m so glad Skylar, Aston, and Zoey got their happy ending. 🥹🫶🏻

I love you all so much, MY LITTLE FAMILY. Skylar and Aston's kiss on Valentine's Day>>> Skylar and Zoey's warm relationship. Aston and Skylar's inability to resist each other. Our huge family that we created together with our cousins and Micham. Josh the jerk's actions towards Skylar and making her feel worthless, but Aston proving over time how truly perfect she is and giving her the love and praise she deserves. Her feeling broken, but Aston proving that all the men in her life were jerks by giving her her first orgasm as a wedding gift. Never caring that it was someone else's child, accepting Skylar's baby as her own daughter and dedicating herself to her little family… you are so beautiful, but oh my
