The Atlanta Boys #4

Draft Pick: A Single Dad, Friends to Lovers, Baseball Romance

Rate this book
Crew
Baseball has always been the easy part for me.

Life? Not so much.

Between playing center field for the Atlanta Strikers, running a restaurant, raising my fiercely imaginative daughter, and a recent injury, I'm barely keeping it together. The last thing I need is another obstacle especially one that looks like my daughter's pediatrician.

Dr. Juniper Wilde.

My friends love her. My daughter lights up for her. And me? I think I loved her from the start.

So, I keep her at a distance. Keep things safe. Keep her firmly in the friend zone. Because the last thing Juniper needs is the chaos that comes with me.

Now she's dating other men, building a life that doesn't include me, and I'm stuck on the sidelines, watching her slip away.

The worst part is, she has no idea she's always been mine.

Juniper
Atlanta was supposed to be my fresh start—new job, new life, and no complications.

Then a fiery six-year-old and her ridiculously handsome father walk into my office and turn everything upside down.

Crew Briggs is charming, guarded, and completely off-limits. But somewhere between check-ups and lingering looks, I start wanting more than a friendship.

The problem? Crew already has too much on his plate. So, I do the sensible thing. I take a step back and remind myself of my end goal and decide to date other men.

Because I want my own love story.

Too bad the only man I want is the one who refuses to admit he wants me too.

I was completely smitten by this story. 🥰

Crew is the ultimate swoony single dad, balancing life as a baseball player while giving Addie all the love and support she deserves. His patience and dedication as he navigates her ADHD diagnosis made him impossible not to adore.

Juniper was the perfect match for him. Their friends-to-lovers romance unfolds at a satisfying slow-burn pace, and their chemistry felt natural, heartfelt, and incredibly genuine. I especially loved the caring, protective moments between them and the way Juniper’s personal growth was woven into the story.

Addie absolutely steals the show and brings so much heart to every page. The ADHD representation felt thoughtful and authentic, making the story even more meaningful. While some of the friend-group dynamics weren’t entirely my style, they never took away from the overall experience.

This was a sweet, emotional, and memorable read.

Huge thank you to Indy Valentine and Luna Literary for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

You guys know I love a single daddy book! Throw in some baseball and a possessive MMC & I was hooked!

I absolutely loved Crew & Junipers story. Their chemistry and connection was undeniable! this was definitely a slow burn, but one that I ate up!! Crew was swoony & just the best dad!! Little Addie was the sweetest soul & just brought so much light to this book!

Crew only wants the best for his daughter. He is looking for direction in helping her thrive. Insert Juniper, his daughter’s doctor, and someone he didn’t see coming. I loved watching their friendship grow to so much more & the way she helped him through his daughter’s diagnosis. The ADHD rep in this book was done so beautifully and I love the way it was navigated through this story!

This was a fun, heartwarming story & I just absolutely love the friend group thought the book! I can’t wait for more from this series!!

Thank you Indy & team for this early copy!!!

3.5 stars. Rounding up. Arc reader for a honest review.

This was a cute baseball romance. Single dad who play professional ball as well as owning a restaurant, just learned his five year old daughter has ADHD.

New pediatrician in town, fun and wild scuba during the day for the kids, and black and a tad emo at night. Just moved to Atlanta from Nashville and is ready to settle down. She meets her new patient Addie and her hot dad, and Addie invites her to a baseball game. This book was cute and a quick read.

Crew being an amazing dad was honestly my favorite part of this book 🥹🩵

I really loved the ADHD representation with Addie and how thoughtfully Crew navigated supporting her and helping her thrive. Those moments added so much heart to the story and made the emotional side of the book stand out for me.

The chemistry between Crew and the FMC felt very natural too. Their connection was easy, sweet, and full of tension without feeling overly dramatic, and I especially enjoyed all the caretaking moments throughout the story.

Addie absolutely stole scenes every time she appeared 😭 she had so much personality and brought so much warmth to the book.

For me personally, I think the overall vibe of the team/friend group just leaned a little more immature than what I usually gravitate toward, so it didn’t fully click for me in every moment. But overall, it was still a really cute and heartfelt sports romance that I think a lot of readers will enjoy.

He was a good dad!!! The story was good but I feel like the vibe wasn’t for me. The ADHD rep with his daughter and how he navigates that was done fantastic! But he and the team and friends seemed a little immature for me. I enjoyed the FMC and we see growth all around but I think the vibe of the team just wasn’t for me. I’d definitely recommend giving it a chance!

I haven't read the other books in this series, but I did enjoy this one so I'm sure I'll go back to read the rest! This story was cute and full of heartwarming moments. I love how precious Addie is and her personality shines! But when Crew needs some help navigating how to make Addie thrive in school, he definitely didn't think the new doctor would end up being all he can think about. Their tension and chemistry was so effortless and I loved them together!

I genuinely don’t even know where to start with this review. I’m so incredibly grateful to have had the chance to read this book early. Being part of a street team during release season is always so exciting, but getting to experience stories like this before they’re out in the world is something I’ll never stop appreciating.

Now onto the actual book… this was TOP-TIER single dad romance and I absolutely adored every second of it. Crew has been intriguing from the very beginning, but getting to see him fully in his element as a father and baseball player made me love him even more. The way he navigated fatherhood while supporting Addy through her ADHD diagnosis was handled so beautifully and thoughtfully. He constantly put her first, making every decision with her wellbeing in mind, and honestly? He was just an incredible dad. But that man being completely and utterly down bad for Juniper made it even better.

And Juniper? What an absolute powerhouse of a woman. Fierce, compassionate, vulnerable, hardworking — she was everything. She carries so much on her shoulders yet still pours so much love and care into the people around her. Taking the leap to start her own practice was such a defining moment for her, and seeing everything she gained from that risk was so rewarding.

And Addy… she completely stole my fucking heart. She was adorable, hilarious, and the nicknames she gave everyone made this book even more special. The ADHD representation felt so intentional and naturally woven into the story rather than included as an afterthought, which made it all the more impactful.

Draft Pick was an easy five-star read for me, and I cannot wait for everyone else to experience this story on May 21st!

This was my first journey into the Atlanta Strikers series and wow… I’ve seriously been missing out. Not only will I absolutely be binging the rest of this series (because this baseball found family is EVERYTHING), but you should too!

It took me to get into this book since I hadn’t read the first three books, but Indy introduces the characters in a way that makes it easy to jump in without feeling lost. That being said… now I desperately want to go back and read them all from the beginning.

Crew completely won me over as a single dad. He’s so devoted to his daughter, his jobs, and the people he loves. And Addie’s ADHD rep? As someone with ADHD myself, seeing the parenting side of it handled with so much care and compassion honestly made my heart happy. Indy did such a beautiful job with it.

And Dr. Juniper Wilde? I'm obsessed. Like every one of Indy Valentine’s FMCs, I either want to be her or be best friends!!

The slow burn in this one was borderline painful, but the payoff was absolutely worth the wait. I won’t spoil anything, but the spicy little microtropes had me GAGGED (is that what the kids say now?).

If you love spicy sports romances, found family, lovable chaos, and characters you genuinely want to spend time with, read Draft Pick immediately… or start at the beginning with End Game. Trust me, I’ll be going back for the full Atlanta Strikers experience.

Crew Briggs, the man you are. Dr. Juniper Wilde, the woman YOU are. Yall never stood a chance resisting each other, but it was a fun ride to watch yall try. This slow burn almost ended me but when the heat hit it was SO GOOD. It’s the quieter ones with the cat eye glasses you gotta watch out for. 😉 Star of the show was my Queen Adeline of Emerald City. The sassy little spitfire was such a sweet little addition to this book, she was too adorable for words. I loved the dynamic with Crew and Hillary and how it doesn’t always have to be toxic exes but healthy co-parenting. I feel like we deserve more of that representation sometimes. The ADHD rep in this was so on point, I’m sure due to Indy’s direct experience, but as a diagnosed ADHD girlie myself, it feels incredibly refreshing to see accurate representation, especially when it comes to the struggle of finding the best way to navigate each individual person’s journey with it. It was a cute, quick read and of course a great way to transition to Coach’s story. I can’t wait to see what is coming in his book! 4/5 stars.

We’ve waited for Crew Briggs and his little daughter Addie for a while, and let me tell you these two plus the beautiful story of him and Juniper was a fun time. The ADHD rep in this book is so well done, and handled with such care. The fact that Crew thinks he can’t go there with his daughter’s new doctor just made me love him more! There’s an instant attraction between these two- but there’s an invisible like drawn in the sand that they’re both apprehensive to cross because of Juniper being Addie’s new doctor. And whilst they both try to get on with life- Juniper with dipping her toe into the dating world and Crew concentrating on working on his elbow injury and liking after Addie, they can’t deny the pull they feel to each other. Juniper’s connection to Addie is just the absolute sweetest! And the banter from our strikers and their other halves makes this feel like coming home for some parts of the book which I loved. The simmering plot of Coach Lemmins has me so I intrigued too and I can’t wait to find out more about the last instalment of the Atlanta boys!

This follows Juniper and Crew. Juniper has moved to town and taken over a doctor’s office to continue her career in paediatrics. Looking to meet new people, she doesn’t expect to cross paths with Crew and his beautiful daughter, Addie, who invites her to a local baseball game. Little does she know she’ll end up watching Crew and that he’ll spark something inside her.

I enjoyed this story. It’s very character driven, with a strong supporting cast of friends and family that really bring the story to life. It’s also a slow burn, taking until around the 70% mark before things really start to heat up. I loved the tension and chemistry between Crew and Juniper. Crew has it bad for her the way he thinks about her, watches her, and hopes for something more was so enjoyable to read. Juniper feels it too, but she spends a lot of time pushing those feelings aside, especially because Addie is her patient. Addie herself completely stole the show she’s full of life, and her interactions throughout the book were such a joy to read. One of my favourite kids I’ve come across in a while.

Watching Crew and Juniper slowly build their relationship until they couldn’t resist anymore was so satisfying. The dates were adorable, and the things Crew did for her had me swooning. Their intimate moments were beautiful, and that restaurant scene will definitely stick with me it was so sweet.

I will say, though, while I usually love a slow burn, this one felt very slow. When things finally turned intimate, it didn’t feel as explosive as I expected I more so accepted that it was finally happening. I also found the “I love you” moment rushed, especially given how much of the book focused on the buildup.

Overall, I love Indy’s work, and I’m looking forward to reading more from her in the future.

A single dad that is a baseball player? Say no more. This was my first book by Indy and I will be going back to start from the beginning with this series!!

Juniper is the new pediatrician in town, she just moved to Nashville and is ready to settle down. She meets her new patient, Addie, which just so happens to have a hot baseball playing dad. Addie invites her to a game and the rest is history.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the ADHD representation, it was beautifully done and I loved seeing it. I absolutely loved crew and Juniper story. They had amazing chemistry and the best slow burn. 🤭

This was a book of green flag sweetness with a touch of forbidden! These two were so cute together even when they tried to fight it! And the little Queen of Emerald City stole the show! Our MMC was such a wonderful dad, teammate and friend who will have you swooning! And our FMC is a girl after my own heart in her head to toe black wardrobe and fierce boss babe ways! She hasn’t met a goal she hasn’t conquered and I love to see a strong powerful woman doing her thing! This was a cute, super sweet, fast paced read!

Thank you Luna Literary for gifting me this read. I loved this book. This is the first book of Indy’s I’ve read but I know it won’t be my last! I definitely need to catch up on this series before Coach’s story comes out! This read is definitely a slow burn but the ending is so worth it. I love Juniper’s character and how good she is with Addie from day 1. Crew is such a good MMC and is the best Dad. If you love a light hearted book that sprinkles in a little bit of baseball, this book is for you.

4.75 ⭐️’s!! First I wanna talk about how honored I am to be able to read an advanced copy of this book. I literally was on the verge of tears when I found out I had the opportunity to read this.

Crew just found out his daughter has ADHD, and he’s made it his mission to do everything right by her and get her all the help she needs. Juniper is the new town physician and she wants to find some friends in her new town. After finding out that Juniper is Crew’s daughter‘s, Addi’s, new physician, they now have to navigate Addi‘s new diagnosis and their relationship along the way.

From the very first chapter of this book, I knew that I would absolutely love everything about it. The way Indy can write about Addi‘s ADHD and crew’s love for her was so heartwarming and I literally raved about it for days. (My Aunt can attest to this lol)

Crew is willing to do anything and everything to get Addi all the help she can get and he refuses to take any negativity about her having ADHD. Seeing him fight for her and his love for her really shows you how far Crew’s love for Addi goes. Crew is such a loving person and once you’re in his circle, he cares for you with his whole heart. I loved Crew from page one and I am a diehard fan girl to the end of my days.

I absolutely loved Juniper! Her journey of self discovery and independence was so interesting and amazing to be a part of. I love being able to read about her love for kids and how she is now unafraid to be herself. Just the way that she loves the people around her, especially Addi is absolutely amazing.

This is actually my first Indy Valentine book, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to read this. If you have never read one of her books, let me just vouch and say you need to. I am forever changed in the best way possible. 🫶🏼🎀

Draft Pick was such a fun, heartwarming sports romance, and I honestly loved every second of Crew and Juniper’s story.

Crew, the centre fielder for the Atlanta Strikers, is already juggling life as a professional baseball player and a devoted dad to his adorable daughter, Addie.

From the very beginning, Addie completely stole my heart. One moment that really made me smile was when she asked her dad, “Do you think you’ll ever find your Ariel, Daddy?” It was such a sweet and emotional moment that showed just how loving and thoughtful she is.

I absolutely adored Juniper and Valentina’s friendship. Their banter was hilarious, especially the conversation about the anaconda “finding a new home in your mouth.” I laughed so loudly at that scene. And honestly, even though Juniper insists she will not be adopting an anaconda, I think we can all agree she absolutely will eventually, hopefully a very large one! 😂

One thing I really appreciated in this book was the co-parenting relationship between Crew and Hillary. It was refreshing to see healthy, supportive co-parents who genuinely put Addie first. They worked so well together, and it added so much depth to the story.

The moment Crew finally takes Addie to the paediatrician and meets Juniper properly was one of my favourites. When Juniper walks in and sees him bowing dramatically to his daughter, it instantly sets the tone for their relationship. I loved how naturally caring she was with Addie from the very start. The fact she invited Juniper to a baseball game after barely knowing her was so sweet and then at the game she finally realises Crew isn’t just a baseball fan… he’s actually the player!

Another favourite part for me was when Addie asks for a playdate with “Dr Juniper,” leading to Crew texting her asking how to make pancakes and inviting her over. Even though Juniper is incredibly busy, she still makes time for them. Honestly, I don’t know who was happier to see her Addie or Crew! It really felt like the first major step in their love story.

And the pancake scene? Absolutely iconic. Juniper calling Crew “suburban daddy” because of the car he drives had me laughing already, but then she tells him, “Get over here so I can show you how a Wilde woman makes pancakes!” and Crew immediately thinking Wilde woman or wild woman? I’ll take option two please and thank you genuinely made me laugh out loud. Their chemistry and humour together were perfect.

I also loved Crew’s relationship with his teammates. Their friendship felt so genuine, and I loved how protective and supportive they were when it came to helping him keep “his girl.” It really reinforced the idea that his team is more than teammates they’re family.

Overall, Draft Pick was funny, emotional, sweet, and full of heart. Between the romance, the found-family feel, and Addie completely stealing every scene she was in, this book was such an enjoyable read.

And now I absolutely cannot wait for the next book with Coach Jack Leggins. I’m already hoping he gets the happy ending he deserves too!

I went into Draft Pick expecting a fun baseball romance and ended up getting emotionally attached to a fictional suburban dad, his adorable daughter, and the world’s coolest pediatrician instead.

Crew Briggs completely stole my heart. This man is exhausted in every possible way — balancing professional baseball, injuries, running a restaurant, and raising his daughter — but the love he has for Addie shines through in every single thing he does. Addie was honestly the heart of this story for me. She was funny, thoughtful, imaginative, and brought so much warmth to every scene she was in. Watching Crew fight so hard to support her after her ADHD diagnosis made me love him even more.

And Juniper Wilde? OBSESSED. Pediatrician by day in colorful character scrubs, emo black-clad queen by night? She was such a fun, refreshing heroine. Juniper was caring, patient, emotionally intelligent, and so easy to root for. I absolutely loved the relationship she built with Addie and how naturally she fit into their lives.

This was definitely a slow burn, but it worked so perfectly for these characters. Crew and Juniper’s relationship was built on friendship, trust, tension, and so much emotional vulnerability. The reasons they kept trying to stay apart actually made sense too. Juniper was Addie’s doctor, Crew already felt overwhelmed by everything on his plate, and neither of them wanted to risk hurting Addie if things didn’t work out. Meanwhile everyone around them could clearly see they were already halfway in love with each other.

Their banter was one of my favorite parts of the entire book. Juniper calling Crew “suburban daddy” every chance she got and this giant baseball man turning into a blushy mess over it? Incredible. He acted like he hated it while secretly loving every second of her attention, and it made their chemistry feel so natural and playful.

And THEN the spice hits. Once these two finally gave in, the tension exploded in the best way possible. Crew being completely gone for Juniper was ridiculously hot. This man was down bad without an ounce of shame, and the way he willingly handed over control and followed her lead? Yeah. I get the hype now.

But underneath all the chemistry and spice, this book really felt like a story about loneliness, healing, parenthood, and finding love when life already feels messy and full. It felt grounded and emotional in a way that made everything hit harder.

Also… Indy Valentine absolutely did not have to emotionally destroy me with that ending, but here we are.

Crew Briggs our Atlanta Striker bar owner single dad can I just say that this man is evryting I truly loved getting to see how sarcastic and funny and loving he is. As a father who shows up for his daughter Addie who deals with ADHD and is her biggest advocate for wanting to ensure he is getting the proper care and help for her spoke volumes for me . It warmed my heart to see how he always puts her first and her needs. Crew struggled with letting anyone in not because he doesn’t want to but because he struggles with thinking that he deserves anything good in life when in fact he knows the one good thing he has is Addie. However that changes when he gets a new doctor and when he sees and gets to know this doctor she is the missing piece he’s been needing in his life!!

Juniper Wilde
The new doctor who moved from Nashville to Atlanta who is ready to be there able and willing to help when she meets Addie she instantly forms such a an amazing bond with her she has worked very hard to become a doctor and she is very proud of how far she’s has gotten there when she meets Mr.Briggs she is very attracted to him but realizes flirting with her patients Dad is off limits … or is it?? she is trying to heal from issues that she has had with her family where she felt not seen and underloved and not seen by her parents . She realizes that she deserves all the good the world has to offer but is she willing to give love a chance ?

This book was by far the best book and I truly loved it beyond words to see how Crew and Juniper banter the way Crew interrupted her date and made sure she knew that he was interested in her to the point where they are also playing truth and dare and that trench coat scene can we say SPICY leading up to getting to her HOUSE yas mam! I loved how both of them let there guard down and were willing to allow to fall for one another but it was amazing to see how the love that Juniper had for Addie was pure and it made him fall for her because he had never seen someone besides her birth mother care for Addie the way she spoke up for and advocated for her needs as a Doctor and person who loved her is out of this world !

It was an honor to read this as an ARC reader but it was amazing and I loved this so much !

I lost brain cells reading this book.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC of the book.

Single baseball player dad x daughter's pediatrician? Immediate yes. Unfortunately, this book was all over the place and unenjoyable. It is book 4 in a series. It was advertised as a standalone, but there were far too many characters (at least 7-10) and relationships to keep track of.

Juniper calls Crew (also what kind of yt person name is Crew) Suburban Daddy. Daddy as a nickname isn't really my cup of tea, but I can normally tolerate a little bit in books. Juniper says Suburban Daddy too often to the point where it gets annoying.

The author uses a lot of modern terminology like "lowkey obsessed", "hella", and "situationship". Hella is a Bay Area term and after a quick bio read from her website, she lives in Florida. Not saying she can't use it! I just thought it was an interesting word choice especially because she was using hella as an adjective and not even in character dialogue. I would say the term situationship wasn't used correctly in the book. Juniper and Crew are attracted to each other, but feel hesitant to act on it because Juniper is Addie's (Crew's daughter) pediatrician. I personally don't like modern terminology because it dates a book plus it comes off as too casual.

I had to do a double take when Juniper says, "I want to wear the names wife and Mom far more than I ever wanted the title of Doctor.” This might be me reading too much into it, but I thought that quote came off as anti-feministic and enforced the male view of women should be moms and wives than having a career.

There was also an inconsistency in the sex scenes. Juniper and Crew's first time is on the Juniper's kitchen floor. Not the most romantic place for their first if you ask me. But I don't recall the author mentioning the use of a condom here. In a later sex scene (where Juniper surprises Crew at an away game), Crew brings up that he doesn't have a condom. Juniper replies that it's okay because she's on the pill and clean.

Favorite quote:
- “Thank you for trying.” Little does she know, I’ll never stop. That’s what we do for the people we love…we show up. In the big ways and the small ways.”

There is something about an Indy Valentine romance that always works for me, and this book was no exception.

Crew is juggling more than most people could handle. Between being a professional baseball player, running a restaurant, recovering from an injury, and raising his daughter, his life is already full. The last thing he thinks he needs is another complication. Especially one that looks like Dr. Juniper Wilde.

What I loved most about this story wasn’t just the romance—it was the relationships surrounding it.

Crew’s daughter absolutely stole my heart. Her relationship with Juniper felt genuine, sweet, and important to the story rather than simply being there to push the romance forward. Watching Juniper care for her while slowly becoming a bigger part of their lives made every interaction feel meaningful.

Juniper was easy to root for. She knows what she wants, but she’s also realistic enough to recognize when someone isn’t fully meeting her halfway. Rather than waiting around forever, she starts trying to build the life she wants for herself, which creates some wonderful tension throughout the story.

And Crew?

This man had me wanting to shake him and hug him at the same time.

His feelings for Juniper were obvious long before he was willing to admit them, and watching him try to convince himself that keeping her in the friend zone was the right thing to do was both frustrating and entertaining.

The slow build between them felt natural, the emotional connection was strong, and every step forward in their relationship felt earned.

And when things finally happened?

Let’s just say the spice was absolutely spicing. 🌶️🔥

If you enjoy single dad romances, friends-to-lovers vibes, emotional family moments, and a hero who has been in love long before he realizes he can’t keep pretending otherwise, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.

⭐️ Overall Rating: 5/5
🔥 Burn Level: 4.5/5
🌶️ Spice Level: 4.5/5
💧 Emotional Impact: 4/5

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love baseball romances but this book was so much mores. I loved the emotionally unavailable single dad, the chaotic pediatrician, and one tiny girl who completely stole the entire show.

This book had such a different vibe than I expected in the best way. Beneath the flirting and tension was a really heartfelt story about parenting, burnout, loneliness, and learning how to let people in when life already feels overwhelming.

Crew was the kind of MMC that sneaks up on you. On paper he’s this successful baseball player, but in reality he’s exhausted, overprotective, trying to hold everything together, and quietly drowning under the pressure of being the perfect dad. Watching how fiercely he loved Addie honestly melted me. Every decision he made centered around giving her the best life possible, and it made his character feel incredibly genuine.

And Juniper? She was such a standout. Smart, patient, sarcastic, emotionally intuitive , the exact kind of person Crew needed crashing into his carefully controlled world. I loved that their relationship didn’t happen instantly. The slow burn actually felt earned because their connection was built through trust, friendship, vulnerability, and all those little moments that slowly turn into something bigger.

Their chemistry though??? 🔥

The teasing, the tension, the constant push and pull… I was obsessed with every interaction. Juniper calling him out whenever he got too grumpy and Crew pretending he wasn’t completely gone for her had me smiling nonstop. And once the romance finally tipped over into more? Worth every second of the wait.

But honestly, Addie was the heart of this story for me. She brought so much warmth and light to every scene, and I really appreciated the care put into showing her ADHD diagnosis and the way both Crew and Juniper supported her through it. It felt thoughtful, emotional, and very real.

This book somehow managed to be comforting, emotional, funny, swoony, and ridiculously hot all at once .

ARC review

Thank you so much to Indy Valentine and Literary Agency for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All of my opinions and feelings are my own.

Firstly, I desperately wanted to be obsessed with this. I mean it got sports romance combined with single dad x his daughter’s pediatrician. It was meant to be, a match made in heaven. I was so prepared to shout about my love for this book. But it unfortunately didn’t hit with me.

I’m going to start out with the stuff that didn’t click with me. Number one has to be the chemistry between Juniper and Crew. I mean I could read that they were very much attracted to each other but beyond that? It felt lacking and I felt that their overall chemistry could’ve been more fleshed out. I want more than just lust between characters, I want raw emotions to.

The second thing that bugged me was how immature Crew felt at certain scenes, particularly in a scene where he crashes one of Juniper’s dates. Felt very immature since they hadn’t even acknowledge their feelings for each other even at that point. I love a possessive man (in fiction) but that has to once they ”get together”. It felt out of place because I love Crew as a character.
And don’t get me started on the epilogue that only takes place three months later.
The sex scenes are just…okay. A little lackluster.

Okay so the more positive things I have is that I love this series so much. It’s fun, fast-paced with lovable characters. It feels like a big family seeing everyone together. And I love that!
I adored seeing Crew being such an awesome dad to Adeline. Their relationship was so cute and heartwarming.
I really liked Juniper. She felt relatable in a sense and I just overall loved her aura.

The ending has me so excited for the next book since I’ve been waiting for Coach’s book for a hot minute! Can’t be obsessed with Jack and his story.

Thank you Indy Valentine and Luna for the opportunity to an advanced readers copy of "Draft Pick", the fourth installment from the Atlanta Boys series releasing May 21st and ket me tell you: how did it take me so long to doscover this series? Talk about adding the lineup to my TBR to fill in between ARCs and BETAs because I devoured this book in 12 hours.

We meet Crew and Juniper. Juniper is Adeline's new doctor and Crew is obsessed from the beginning and the banter; angsty tension and lets not stop At the chemistry steaming through the pages. This book was almost a grand slam in my books for a baseball romance. Its a slow burn but for good reason and when the eff it moment hits; Indy- giiiiiirl high five. Nailed it.

Crew's story and mindset mixed with Juniper's story makes a gentle mental representation that stands out and I recommend to protrct your space st all cost because these two do it together. They cross paths due to Adeline's ADHD diagnosis and when I saw Crew is tripping over his feet, it comes full throttle when his friends lock him in a room and tell him to get it together and get it done.

The relationship between Adeline and Juniper is so pure and full of life and I couldn't love it anymore. How the entire gang just accepts her and her nuisance without a battle is what you love to see for series build outs of last characters. I'm kind of stoked to rewd Navy's story to be honest alongside the others and the fact we get Coach next? That story will break a person if you know, you know. If you don’t, get caught up with the Atlanta Boys ahead of the next release because it sure will be full of tissues.

I'm such a sucker for a good sports romance and even moreso a single dad story and Draft Pick did not disappoint 👏

Such a cute (and spicy 🔥) read!

Crew is a professional baseball player, restaurant owner and single dad to Addie aka Adeline Briggs, Queen of Emerald City and my goodness did this little queen steal my heart 🥰 What a firecracker! I looked forward to her parts of the story so much and she kept bringing the smiles! Addie has been diagnosed with ADHD and it's clear how much Crew will do anything to help his daughter. When he loves, he loves hard. Loyal and trustworthy, a down to earth man.

When the town's pediatrician retires, Juniper Wilde enters the story as the new doctor in town to the littles. When Crew takes Addie to visit her, the sparks fly immediately but both of these two try to turn a blind eye as the both have so much going on in their lives, and Juniper is Addie's doctor after all. Addie falls in love with Juniper and as their paths keep crossing, and Juniper befriends not only the wives of Crew's baseball team but also Addie's mom, both Crew and Dr. Wilde, can't deny the mutual feelings between them that go beyond friendship.

I just loved Juniper! She is a strong woman who lives her authentic self but struggles with hurt from her past due to growing up in a hoarder household. I love how Crew and Addie complete her (and vice versa 🥹) and how Queen Addie has a small part in bringing joy and hope to Juniper's mother through a FaceTime call. Bonus points to her creating the totally hot "Suburban Daddy" nickname 😅 The banter between these two was fabulous!

This is a slow burn but when the spice hits... it sure hits 🔥🥵 Draft Pick had me swooning, laughing, smiling and blushing 🤭 I couldn't put this book down!

I absolutely loved the ending and look forward to the next book in the series as I'm now invested in Coach and his story to come! 👀

This is my first book of Indy Valentine's but it definitely won't be my last! I just love her writing style!

Thank you so much to Indy and Luna Literary for the ARC of Draft Pick in exchange for my honest review.

INDY!!!!😩😭😭😭 Can we start off on that ending?! Emotional damage:)

Golly goodness this was absolutely beautiful. These characters were everything and more.

Crew was made to be a daddy. He is so caring , attentive and puts all his love in his daughter first. Before baseball, before his business, before sleep and his own sanity. Made me love him to my core how patient and loving he is🥹 Addie was the cutest kid. She was so funny, so thoughtful and a pure heart for a 6 year old. I love how she was written, she had challenges to face but she was such a strong little girl. She made me smile so hard my cheeks hurt😭

NOW.....DR. WILDE🔥🔥🔥 MOMMY? Sorry. Mommy? Sorry. Wow what a woman. 😀 Hannah Montana who? This girl is a pediatrician by day with her colorful spunky scrubs who is so attentive to all and had my heart melting at how sweet she was. But....by night😏 My emo dressing mommy. And the glasses? 😩😩😩😩 She was the perfect character. I was expecting her to be grumpy but she was brighter than the sun. Easy to love. The way she put her feelings on hold for the sake of Crews daughter and career made me fall in love with her more. I LOVEEEEE THE FRIENDS TO LOVERS. They created such a beautiful bond first and that made the attraction and tension 10x better💗

Now..... I felt like I was going to explode. This was such a fast read i devoured it, and short being 300 pages but indy manages to have it slow burninnnnn and....I loved it. Keep me on edge girl😏🔥

Back in Atlanta with the Daddy Crew and honestly??? I was kicking my feet the entire time 😭⚾️✨

This book was such a fun, flirty, heartwarming read. We’ve got a hot professional baseball player/single dad who also owns a restaurant and a new pediatrician in town who is sunshine and honestly the slow burn totally hooked me because their chemistry was instant, even if they both tried to fight it.

And little Addie completely stole my heart. 🥹 She brought so much warmth and light to the story, and watching Crew navigate her ADHD diagnosis with so much love and determination genuinely made this feel deeper than just a cute sports romance. Juniper stepping into their lives and becoming someone both Addie and Crew could lean on was so beautifully done. Their relationship grew so naturally from friendship into something more, and every little moment between them felt meaningful.

Also… Crew? Elite book dad status. The man was swoony, patient, protective, emotionally available AND obsessed with his daughter. I mean COME ON.

One thing I really appreciated was how thoughtfully the ADHD representation was handled. It felt compassionate, realistic, and woven into the story in such a meaningful way.

Between the found family vibes, the lovable friend group, the banter, the tension, and all the soft emotional moments, this book completely won me over. Cute, cozy, romantic, and impossible not to binge in one sitting.

Can’t wait for more from this series!! 💕⚾️

And thank you Indy & team for the early copy!!

Draft Pick is the fourth book in The Atlanta Boys series by Indy Valentine and once again reminded me why I love her stories so much ❤

Crew is a single dad trying to balance his restaurant, baseball career, and most importantly taking care of his daughter Addie, who has ADHD. Through her, he meets Atlanta’s new pediatrician, Dr. Juniper Wilde, and from there begins a story that made me laugh, melt, and ache alongside the characters.

⚾️Crew officially became one of my favorite book single dads 🥹 This man was sexy, funny, caring, and endlessly devoted to his daughter. And his relationship with little Addie completely owned my heart.

💉And Juniper… girl 🔥 Chapter 26 completely destroyed me in the best way possible🥵
But what I loved most about her was her dedication to her profession as a doctor and the way she cared for and treated the children around her.

The slow burn romance was done perfectly. The tension, chemistry, and passion between them felt so intense and addictive.

But what I loved most is that this story isn’t only about romance. It also explores the struggles of parents trying to do their best for a child with ADHD, and as well as the storyline about compulsive hoarding in Juniper’s childhood it was handled in such an emotional and heartfelt way. ❤

A huge thank you to Indy Valentine and the publisher for approving me for the ARC. I’ll never stop recommending the books of yours that I’ve read because there’s something truly special and addictive about your stories 🫶
