The Light of Freedom

Rate this book
WWII flares again--among the stars and in shadowy tombs.

Two universes. One of freedom, one of tyranny. The Fatherworld has hurled its darkest technology at dreadnoughts that blot out the stars, spider-mechs that devour cities, and skeletal warriors of steel. Now the Nazis seek power in the occult. They hunt for a different sort of the fabled Seal of Solomon, a relic of the demon world.

If they find it, freedom dies.

Admiral James King is old, battle-worn, but unbreakable. He's led fleets among the stars. Now he must plunge underground. In ancient catacombs and booby-trapped crypts, the fate of freedom will be sealed. Sweeping from the tombs of Egypt to King Solomon's Mines, the race for the Seal is on.

King will not break. He will not let the Fatherworld claim the Seal. Because whoever seizes that ancient power decides the fate of two universes.

Freedom or tyranny—only one can win.

The final chapter of the Freedom Fleet saga

While the final battle for survival of the their universe is fought in the space around Earth, Admiral James "Grouchy" King and his family pursue their doppelgangers from the Nazi Universe. Stowy is a captive of the evil Nazis who search for the fabled Ring of Solomon with its supernatural powers. The treasure can only be found by a person pure of heart and they believe that the innocent child has that ability. James King and family would rescue Stowy and prevent the Ring from falling into Nazi hands.

As this amazing storyline winds down, our heroes of many fantastic storylines make their final bid to defeat their evil counterparts, close the gateway to their dimension and save the galaxy. As we bid farewell to our familiar characters, I have no doubt they'll return in yet another tale of the Starship Freedom. Until then, we close out another amazing read!

Good story telling

I like the characters and the almost manic imagination but found King's pontificating to be all too often repetitive and skipped it more often than not. It is a good barn burner to work as a distraction while dealing with grief. My husband of 54y died 1/4/26. He was 85y and passed suddenly doing a honey do job as he loved to do. It was a quick, painless death and I am grateful he did not linger as too many I have loved did and wth whom he helped me care for. A good man deserves a good death.

The Light of Freedom

Excellent series. Old Grouchy King saved the planet again. Hopefully he will be able to live the rest of his life without war. Stowy will keep him very busy.

The parts about samatha was probably the emotional depth I have seen in a long time.
