The world belongs to the dead, but survival is still up for grabs.
Kenshiro thought he had left his past behind, but the undead world is not finished testing him. Captured in Bakersville and branded a threat, he must outwit a ruthless council that sees him as both a pawn and a danger. Every choice he makes could tip the balance between survival and destruction.
Far from the safety of the walls, Elle fights her own battles. Determined, resourceful, and unyielding, she refuses to be broken by the horrors around her. Yet the deeper she ventures into the chaos, the more she realizes that trust is the most fragile weapon of all.
And Nick, haunted by the cost of every decision, faces enemies on both sides of the fence. To protect those he loves, he must embrace a darker side of himself, one that could either save his friends or doom them forever.
As Kenshiro, Elle, and Nick carve their paths through betrayal, sacrifice, and blood, their stories weave together into a reckoning that will change everything. In a world overrun by the dead, it is the living who prove most dangerous.
Elle, reluctantly accepting Derek’s help, along with the rest of her family group in Casa Azul, has agreed to get a message to the XO of the ship in the harbor. She also decides they need to do more, gather more information for Nick Jones. He has decided to let the cruise ship continue on its course after ridding it of the bomb they found in the engine room. Kenshiro has screwed the pooch royally getting out of Deacon’s office to get to the radio to talk to Elle. Meanwhile Sydney, stuck in the house with Milo, starts getting anxious when they don’t return as planned. Making a judgement call she maims Milo to get information. Leaving him to become zombie chow she heads to town to get Ben. Of course things do not go as she planned. There are several good twists in this one. All the threads are starting to come together for what promises to be a real thrill ride in the next book. I can’t wait for its release!!
