I rescued Paige from the jaws of Hell, but neither one of us will be safe for long now that Paige has betrayed her agreement with the demon official, Bruno Proctor. While we both separately made demon blood pacts to ensure our survival, the consequences of those decisions will come back to bite us in the ass. I'm sure of it.
Forced to rely on the promise of a safe have by the demon Abigail, we traveled to her farm which is populated by the human disciples of Eva. I intend for it to be a short stay, but Paige finds comfort in the familiar environment that reminds her of her childhood. We're growing closer, but I can’t help but question if our feelings are the real deal or the product of a predestined future.
With limited options and a list of enemies growing by the day, I have no choice but to delve further into the myth of Eva and her Protector. Everything hinges on locating an ancient relic of destruction, which could prove to be Paige’s salvation or everyone’s doom.

The demon business is getting quite ugly. Bruno Proctor may be stringing Paige along to get what he wants, but is the damage already done? There is no turning back in this book! Riley is slowly getting more and more sucked into this impossible situation with Paige. As it progresses Riley may be in the same boat that Paige is, reincarnation? While Riley and Paige think they may be getting a break, but you can't REALLY relax when everyone wants something from you. This was another great read, not a lot of action that we had been seeing before, but more building of the story. Paige is trying to reconcile her past with who she is now, and Riley is trying to save Paige from a fate that could tear them apart. This world is getting more and more complicated the deeper these characters are sucked in.
'Protect Her: Part Five' was pretty intense. Bruno is pretty miffed at being bested, Abigail turned out to have her own agenda- I know, a demon that lies, go figure. And Paige and Riley have quite the steamy connection going on. Klein is a great asset to have. And then the book leaves on another fireball cliffhanger. I definitely have to read the next book.
Another great addition to the series. There wasn't much action in this book but there was a lot of interesting and useful information that was discovered. It left off with another cliff hanger, though! I can't wait to find out what happens next.
