Swami Muktananda's aphoristic poetry reflects on fundamental truths and speaks of yoga in his uncompromisingly pure way. A mixture of meditative wisdom, fervent and reverent prayer, and instruction, this book is infused with Muktananda's energy and love.
I’ve heard a lot about Swami Muktananda and his teachings. This book was recommended to me a while back. There were a couple excerpts from the book that really jumped out at me, but 95% of it seemed repetitive. It was definitive , with no room to have a second opinion on the matter. This book came across as Muktananda’s (preachy) personal opinion, read as scripture that one needs to follow blindly. I would highly recommend Lao Tzu’s “Tao Te Ching” in replace of “Reflections of the Self.” Who knows, maybe it was just a book that didn’t gel with me.
It is pretty repetitive but in almost a way that makes you absorb the mantra without realizing it, but the end of the book I understood the journey though I did not know I was embarking it in the beginning
