Dr. Alaina Mendez thought she was stepping into greatness—her first day with the world’s most elite scientists, hidden in a high tech laboratory buried deep in the Amazon rain-forest where secrets rot behind steel doors. The assignment was to dissect a monstrously sized anaconda. But when the first incision causes a heavy convulsion, the whole body spasms and plans change. When restraints are shredded under the violent spasms, something primeval is awakened beneath the blade and the lab becomes a butcher’s altar, and Alaina is baptized in the blood of a thing that refuses to die.

Picked this up after it was recommended on the extreme horror subreddit and I was not disappointed!!

Whilst only 21 pages, in those pages, there is fear, tension, gore, violence and triumph. It is non-stop start to finish, and well written to boot.

The descriptions are graphic and vivid, the reactions so realistic, each moment is unexpected. This is a fast paced book and you feel your heart rate speeding up with it!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I’m glad to have found this author, will definitely be checking out more of his work!

This was insane... A big ass *dead but not dead* snake fuckin' shit up. Terrifying! I did feel like there was a lot of repetition in what was happening and overruse of certain words to describe the gore. Each scene just felt like the next and thats a little awkward for such a teeny book. Still was absolutely disgusting so if u need a short gross read.. here ya go.

This was a fun ride. It's nice to see natural horror for literature. Even though the book could be standalone, the ending does leave open the possibility for something even more crazier with a sequel.

A fun animal horror story stacked with every type of viscera imaginable. My only complaint is that I wish the facility it was located in was fleshed out a little more. I’d like to see more stories set in this universe.
