I never meant to steal from the Bratva. But the Radich gave me bets to place. Numbers. Envelopes. Rules I couldn’t question.
Then Misha Vetrov noticed me. Cold eyes. Tattooed hands. The track’s new king of sin.

The Radich want me silenced. The Vetrov want answers. And Misha? He wants me under him, under oath, under lock and key.
But how do I keep his secret safe— When he’s the kind of man Who always finds the truth?

This is another book taken in Russia around the Bratva horse racing track, which was okay. I had a hard time picturing this story in Russia as I did in the first book I read in this series about this track. It seemed that it was loosely based in a country ran by a dictatorship versus a racetrack in a democracy. I know that the racetrack was owned by the Bratva, but so much of what took place didn't feel like this story took place in Russia.
It began very slow, had some editing issues and was an age-gap romance between Vera and Misha. The writing was a bit "wordy" and repetitious, but overall was acceptable. The premise of this book was good in that it focused on a naïve Ukraine woman who worked at the track who got caught up in criminal activity in order to bring in extra money for her brother's cancer treatment.
Misha and Vera's romance was more of a seduction than an actual attraction. The relationship is a slow burn with much of the story centered on the race track. Misha seduces Vera both sexually and mentally to help him bring down the criminal activity against the Bratva who seemed to be an up and coming threat in the Russian criminal underworld. The love story wasn't just built on sex, it was built on a man who was good at convincing Vera the he "saw" her and wanted to provide protection for her. Misha was a lifeline to a woman that was drowning in something that she didn't completely understand and saw no way out.
The baby was no surprise because they have become typical in this genre.
Ariana has written a bratva romance but it a different take in the usual ones. Which is a refreshing thing when you read so many mafia/bratva romances they can start to become similar. The plot to sin wager is set at a racetrack.
The FMC Vera is a Ukrainian immigrant living in Russia with her batya (father ) and her brother Elvin who is 17 and has cancer. Vera works as a stable hand at the track where she is coerced into placing bets for someone it starts small and becomes bigger and bigger until the track is loosing millions and the bosses at the track get involved unfortunately for her the track is run by a bratva family the vetrovs. Misha MMC chooses to go a different way in trying to get info out of Vera he seduces her and appeals to her natural affinity for horses and sacrificing herself for her family. Vera ends up pregnant and during the investigation period she starts noticing things about misha that he has a dangerous side and he has started to fall in love with her despite only initially seducing her to get information. Vera is instrumental in helping misha end the vetting scam. She is strong, capable, loving and loyal and everything he didn't know he needed.
I liked this book, it took me a little while to get into it but once i did I couldn't put it down, it's well written, easy to read and refreshingly different to the usual genre.

I came for the Bratva intrigue, but I stayed for Misha Vetrov. Sin Wager hit me like a freight train—dark, scorching, and utterly unputdownable. I felt every reckless gamble, every pulse-raising kiss, and every moment of tension as the Radich and the Vetrov tightened their grips around her. Misha is exactly the kind of alpha that makes your pulse spike—cold, commanding, and tattooed with danger, yet impossibly magnetic. Watching her navigate a world of sin, power, and forbidden desire had me clenching my jaw one second and swooning the next. And that secret pregnancy? Yeah… I was living for the drama, the lust, and the heart-wrenching stakes all rolled into one dark, delicious package. Ariana Cooper knows exactly how to make you ache for her characters while keeping you flipping pages until your fingers hurt. Dark. Dirty. Devastating. Every second in this book is an adrenaline shot straight to the heart. ⭐ 5 stars. If you crave Bratva chaos, alpha domination, and a heroine who fights for love on her terms, Sin Wager is your ultimate fix. Heart racing, teeth gritted, and me helplessly lost in every sin-soaked twist—Rebel is officially chained to Misha Vetrov until the last page burns down!.

Vera works hard as a stable hand at the race track to pay for her brothers medical bills as he battles lukemia, but she takes on extra jobs to get money and that puts the track in the losses. Misha is sent to get answers as the bratva own into the race track and he decides to seduce Vera to get answers only he ends up falling for her. But how will things go when the truth comes out? Well written engaging steamy desires and more
Sin Wager is a unique take on a Bratva romance. It's Misha and Vera's journey and it's quite a story. A migrant on Russia, Vera's and her father work very hard to take care of her sick brother. Affording his medicine is costly so Vera takes on another "side" job at the track and this is where things get sticky. Misha is sent in to straighten things out and Vera wasn't what he had bargained for at all, but needed more than he realized. Their story is fast paced, intense and dramatic.
Great Book!! Loved reading Sin Wager. Once I started reading this book I had a hard time putting it down. The chemistry between Vera and Misha was super HOT and sometimes you find love where you least expect it. Loved the ending!!
