Reflect: His Character

Rate this book
Reflect His Character is the second of four short volumes in the powerful series of 4 books on the leadership of elders in the congregation written by James Estep, David Roadcup, and Gary Johnson.

This volume addresses the character of an elder as a leader in the congregation and community. Chapter 1 asserts the necessity of a Christian mind among the eldership; one that has been transformed by Christ and no longer conforms to the world's pattern. Chapter 2 addresses the spiritual lives of elders, asking them to reflect a growing relationship with God, with Chapter 3 addressing one key element of spiritual life, prayer. Chapter 4 is on protecting one's character with recommendations on how to avoid burnout or spiritual and moral failure, while Chapter 5 addresses restoring one's character and the character of others, with an emphasis on cinfidentiality among the eldership. The final chapter discusses the value and importance of having elders accountable to other elders, spiritually and pastorally.
