When spreadsheets collide with pumpkin spice, falling in love is definitely not in the business plan.

Henry Vance lives by the numbers, and Halloween is a statistical nightmare of zero productivity and excessive candy corn. As his company’s most efficient analyst, his mission is fly into the absurdly festive small town of Autumn's End, recommend liquidating their failing Halloween festival, and be home before the first trick-or-treater.

He didn't account for Delia Brightwell.

The festival's infectiously optimistic director lives for haunted hayrides and pumpkin-spice everything, and she's not about to let some suit with a calculator turn her family's seventy-year legacy into a corporate casualty.

Armed with color-coded chaos, a filing system based on "vibes," and a town full of extremely helpful residents, she's determined to prove that some things can't be measured in spreadsheets.

Forced to work together for one tumultuous week, Henry and Delia clash over everything from profit margins to the proper way to organize vendor contracts. But between escaped goat incidents, viral social media disasters, and a Halloween storm that threatens everything, they discover that opposites don't just attract—they might be exactly what the other needs.

A hilarious, unpredictable, and somewhat crazy story about a community keeping a Halloween festival going instead of allowing corporate analysis Henry Vance to dictate it's demise. Fortunately, third generation festive director Delia Brightwell, is determined to convince him otherwise... one chaotic moment at a time.
The characters were incredible, enthusiastic, determined, creative, and one step ahead of anything.
Along the way the two sides joined forces further and shocked Henry's employer!
The plot was perfect and no one could predict the amazing ending! Truly one of the most creative books I've read in years. It deserves more than five stars!

interesting

It’s a fun fall/halloween read. I kept thinking it was over but then there would be more chapters, more chaos… it ended up being a good ending. But lots of repeating towards the end, it could have been shortened. Also, I was confused by characters, not super important characters luckily but either names got changed or they were just random people mentioned but I’m pretty sure names just got changed.

This wasn't your usual "oh my goodness...we have to save the festival" book. It was philosophical in a very entertaining way. I fell in love with Henry and his spreadsheets. Now I must read more by Sadie Bloom. She writes well and movingly.
