Something Better

Rate this book
Savannah Huntington needs a vacation. In the worst way possible. Life has taken on a very empty,
depressing tone, and she needs a change.
So, when the opportunity to leave the country to take pictures for the very intriguing Henry Booth
presents itself, she welcomes it gladly. But her exotic vacation soon proves to be more stressful,
heartbreaking, and life changing than she ever imagined it could be.
When she returns home, things only get worse.
As she finds herself confronting very real truths about the world around her, about her own life, and
about what her future holds, she struggles to understand what it means to be poor in spirit and rich in grace as Christ changes everything into something better...

Savannah and Henry ❤️

Sweet, love story! I loved Savannah and Henry/Hennie! As someone who came to faith later in life, I related to much of their circumstances. This was such a great story of redemption and love. I was really hoping Savannah would have hopped on a plane to Namibia while Hennie was working out his passport and immigration issues.

I did wonder, though, how Scott after being married to Marie for this amount of time, still doesn't know basic, common phrases from Namibia? And how Savannah didn't recognize the language at all, thinking they were speaking gibberish...that was kinda weird.

Looking forward to Piet's story next!

No cliffhangers

An author who writes a worthwhile entertaining read and completes the story in each book but if you want to read the books in the order that she wrote them the next one is From Here On Out

Having come to know the lead characters in this book from previous books by Faulk, I was looking forward to their story. She does an awesome job of it - some totally unexpected plot twists, characters that are "real," and resolution that honors Christ.

Good novel

I enjoyed this book. It is a sweet love story about two nonbelievers who find each other and Christ. It is well written and keeps the reader's attention.

Something better is a story of dual redemptions for hearts that choose to reject God. Possibly one of my favorite books so far by Jenn Faulk. I suppose that what i really love about her writing is that while we do have the obligatory happy ending, life for her characters is never to easy and the solutions are really never too hard. I can not go further without spoilers and I really don't want to spoil this for you so I will simply say it's a very good read.
